Rayne
She liked the quiet. It didn’t feel ‘awkward‘ as some people might have described it. She would never say something just for the sake of having silence filled in with noises.
But as her body dwelled with going home, her mind dwelled with memories of Alliyah. She’s been so friendly, and I haven’t been giving back anything… She frowned at the thought.
“I am sorry that I am not the type to… Open up about serious subjects.”
Rayne took the first step on the staircase that led to her house, and Alliyah took a step in her direction. Which made her realize - they never stood at the same height like that.
Alliyah was going to say something, then stopped, sniffed the air, getting even closer to Rayne and spoke:
“You always smell so delicious. What is it?”
“Ummh…” Rayne felt herself fluster at the sudden proximity and the compliment. “I- I have this coconut hair product. It’s supposed to be for curls, but I like to use it because… It smells marvelous.”
“I should get it too. I actually have curls.” Alliyah gave her a gorgeous, teasing smirk.

“I- I also like the smell of my lipstick, but other people probably can’t smell it.”
“Black lipstick smells good?!” Alliyah inched her face to Rayne’s, who glanced at her full lips, but immediately looked away. “Oh, gosh it does.”
“Indeed. Tastes like strawberries.” Rayne was sure Aliyah could see her blushing. But she just could not stop talking, which was highly unlike herself. “I also have a honey one, but my favorite one is cherry.”
“All black?”
Rayne nodded:
“Now, yes. I used to have a red one, but now just these three black ones.”
Alliyah tilted her head, listening, a smile playing on her lips.
“What? W- Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I Just… Got lost in your… Voice.”
“Oh shut up.”
Rayne rolled her eyes and lightly pushed Alliyah on the shoulder who then looked up at the building and asked:
“Is he yours?” She pointed at the profile of a cat on a window.
“Oh, yes. That is Miss Purple.”
“Miss Purple? You named your cat that? You’re adorable.” Alliyah chuckled.
“Shut up.”
“Make me.”
Alliyah looked into her eyes and licked her own lips. That was it. She was too overwhelmed
“I- I have to go.” Her knees almost gave in. “See you tomorrow!”
She finally turned on her heels and stomped up the stairs.
