What A Mess!

--Hello! This may be my last chapter for the day, I'm not sure but if not, there will be more tomorrow! <3 --

The taxi pulled up in front of Tamarah's house. Spencer paid for the ride and woke Tyler up. As they approached the door, they both sensed something wrong. They looked at each other before Spencer kicked the door down. The scene in front of them made their jaws drop. Someone went out of their way to ransack the home. Books, papers, and other things were scattered about. The cushions of the chairs and couches were torn apart with the stuffing tossed onto the floor. Broken dishes were strewn all over the green carpet. The walls had gaping holes in them. It was heartbreaking to see the house left in this condition.

Spencer shook as he stood amongst the wreckage, "Why would anyone do something like this? What were they looking for?" He bent down to begin cleaning up. He glanced over the papers but there was nothing worth noting on them. Most of the writings were about future lessons she had in mind. "These instructions will be useful for us." He folded up the papers, placing them aside. He then focused on some books. They were about different martial artists, older Japanese culture, and a book about using the elements.

Tyler just stood there, red faced. His blood felt like it was about to boil. "I need to go outside." He stormed out of the house, walking down the street. He hardly noticed the people as he passed by, and even bumped into a few of them. He didn't stop to apologize, even when they objected to his behavior. He kept walking until he reached a gas station. When he entered, he asked for a pack of cigarettes, and bought a lighter. He opened the door to leave when he faced Spencer. "Not now!" He pushed by him, tearing the pack open, grabbing a cig, placed it in his mouth, and lit up.

Spencer wiped smoke away from his face, "I am not sure what you referring to when you said, 'not now,' but I am sure that what you are doing is not going to help you."

Tyler took a long drag then let the smoke out, "You know damn well what I was talking about. Don't give me shit about how smoking is bad for me. I haven't had one of these things in the past three years. After the day we've had, be happy I'm not drinking."

Spencer shook his head, "I was not referring to you smoking a cigarette, by all means, smoke away. I was talking about how you are allowing your emotions to get away from you right now. This has been quite the day for both of us but the way we handle things will determine our effectiveness in rescuing Sensei Tamarah."  He went into the gas station grabbing a bottle of water and a soda. Once he returned, he handed the soda to Tyler.

Tyler took the soda, "Thanks. Oh and sorry about losing my cool. I just saw how trashed Tam's place was and it just sort o pissed me off." He finished his cigarette, tossing it to the ground, then began drinking the soda. "So, to recap from the day, I went to your house because Tam was missing, we get a call from the psychopath, then go to the cave where we almost had our asses handed to us by some gorilla who wasn't actually a gorilla, go to a doctor's house who really isn't a doctor, have a chick that wants to play tag along, get attacked by creatures but that fight was way too easy, then end up at Tam's house where someone threw a party that we weren't invited to. Did I forget anything?"

Spencer took a few sips of water, "No, that's everything. I think it's safe to say that we won't find anything at Sensei's house. It is getting pretty late. We should go back to my place to get whatever kind of training in before we get some rest."

Tyler snapped his fingers, "Safe!" He sprinted back toward Tam's house. He into the house, going to his teacher's office. Everything was thrown all over the place. He moved obstacles out of the way while going under her desk. He saw Spencer enter. "Tam kept stuff in a safe." He pulled a hidden board from the floor, then grabbed the small safe from it's hiding place. "Whatever they were looking for has to be in here." Tyler fiddled with the safe but couldn't figure out the combination. "You wouldn't be a locksmith would you?"

Spencer bent down next to Tyler, "Not really but I may know the combination." As he fiddled with the safe he asked, "How did you know about this safe anyway?"

Tyler blushed a bit, "It was an accident. I came to see Tam after work one evening without knocking on the door. I just let myself in. She had put something in there, and was trying to hide it before I saw it. I was ordered not to tell anyone but I figured this is an emergency." He watched for a bit then heard a 'click.' The door opened.

Spencer pulled out a journal, some loose papers that were folded, and a lock box but there was no key. "Alright, let's take this stuff to my place. I hope they're pieces to our puzzle." He called for a cab this time. Once the taxi arrived, he began to read the journal. As he read, his face showed no emotion. He noticed Tyler's anxious stare, "I will fill you in once I have finished."
