Spencer found Tyler knelt down in a large open area of the cave. He walked slowly, focusing on his unfamiliar environment. It seemed strange that he never explored the caves. What sort of creatures lurked in the shadows? He kept moving closer, listening for any signs of an attack. When he drew close enough to see Tyler, it appeared that an envelope of some kind was clenched in Tyler's grasp. "What is that?"
Tyler didn't answer the question, he just began mumbling, "We were five minutes away, and we had no idea that Tam was here fighting." There was a sigh, "She fell right here, there's blood. How do we even know if she's alive?" Another sigh, followed by a growl of anger, "You asshole! Where's Tam?" The loud yell echoed throughout the cave. Once the echo died down, there were other sounds. These scuffling noises seemed to be coming in their direction. "That's right, come get a piece of this!" Tyler was on his feet, the envelope forgotten as he drew the sword Spencer gave him.
Spencer lowered his gaze at the envelope. He quickly picked it up to place into his rear pocket. "Tyler, that was not a very wise decision." No sooner had he said that, the exit tunnel behind them collapsed. The only other tunnel began to darken as some sort of beasts began to enter. It was quite hard to make out, but a very large silhouette of what could be described as a giant gorilla but with a larger amount of muscle advanced. It was strange that no light emanated from where the eyes should be. Other creatures were in the area but they held back. "See what happens when you open your mouth?" He began to advance toward the larger creature. A huge arm came swinging, so he lowered himself, and rolled to the side. He swung his sword upward to slash. There was an impact, but that seemed to only anger the creature instead of wound it. "Any day now would be nice."
Tyler stood with arms crossed over his chest, "You seem to be getting along just fine without me so far. Are you saying you can't handle this fight? I mean I am a loudmouth and everything." He watched as the creature swung both arms in the air, coming down to smash Spencer, "Oh! That's probably going to hurt." Of course Spencer tried to parry but he got hit. How the hell did that get him? The counter strike did not go well, either. In fact, the sword missed it's mark completely. Tyler waved his arms in the air dramatically, "Fine! Fine! I'll come to your rescue." He ran toward the creature, then slid himself between the beast's legs. He leaned up slashing at what he considered ankles. He jumped back up, slicing with both hands on the sword to the knees. The blade glistened with blood. The creature howled in fury as it stumbled onto the ground. "Yeah, that's right! Who's the big bad ass now?" There was a growl, an arm around Tyler's waist, a tug, a slash and a roll. "Really, Spencer? I got this!" He pulled himself away, jumping to a standing position.
Spencer pulled himself up, "You almost got thrown to your death." The two of them stood next to each other blades lifted, Spencer lifted his free hand, attempting to summon fire but nothing was happening. He sighed heavily. He felt the questionable gaze but ignored it. "I'll go for the head, you go for the heart. Give me a boost." He jumped into the air as he used Tyler's hand to give him some extra height. While he was coming down, he aimed his blade at the top of that large skull.
Tyler jumped forward as the large arms swung upward. Tyler began flying up and to the side while Spencer got knocked back to the ground. The pain was intense as he felt flesh tearing. "I am done playing around!" He used his hands as brakes while he skidded to a stop. He stood up, eyes changing to a hot flame color. He took the dagger in his hand, throwing it with all of his strength toward the monster. It plunged into the chest.

Spencer's eyes reverted back to the icy glint from earlier as he flicked his fingers sending shards of ice toward the creature's head. He watched as the giant form crashed to the ground before turning to the smaller creatures, sending shards their way. There was a scattering they fought at the tunnel to get out, first. Once the area was clear, he scanned the area to find Tyler's hunched form. Within a moment, he was at Tyler's side. "Are you alright?"
Tyler grunted, "Ah shit! That hurts." He winced as he grabbed a hold of Spencer's shoulder struggling to get up. "I want to make sure that thing is really dead." He turned his hand around, sending a fiery pillar toward the unmoving corpse. The massive body was instantly engulfed with flames. Crystals and limestone began to sparkle in the light. "If I weren't in so much pain, I would appreciate the beauty." He then leaned heavily against Spencer.
Spencer felt the hot blood dripping over his arm while trying to support Tyler. "We need to get out of here. Walk with me." Guiding his friend was more like trying to walk with a drunk person. Since the entrance they came in collapsed, he would have to take them out through the opposite tunnel. He hoped that none of those creatures were lurking, waiting for them. His energy was pretty well spent. With Tyler's condition, they would both die. The two slowly made their way to the tunnel and Spencer felt relieved to see that the tunnel led right to the beach. Daylight poured through the opening. Whatever those creatures were, they were not in sight. Once they stepped onto the beach, he lowered Tyler as gently as he could to the sand. He plopped himself down. He looked at the gashes unsure of what to do. Spencer tried to call on ice so that he could at least rinse the wounds but failed to do so. His vision began to darken. Within a few moments, he collapsed as well.
Tyler's eyes slowly opened. "Hey! Spencer?" He heard a "Shhhhh" from a female's voice. A blonde girl appeared above him. "Am I dead, and are the angel that I get to spend eternity with?" He managed to give a weak smile.
The girl's face reddened a bit, "Well, uh my name is Kristie. My boyfriend and I found you and that other guy on the beach while we were walking." She turned, showing him where Spencer was laying. "It's a good thing we found you both when we did or you might have died."
Tyler moaned, "Great, I'm in Hell with Miss Unavailable and the perpetual ass." He tried to sit up but a wave of pain shot through him causing him to lay back down.
"Oh no no no no! Please, don't try to get up. It took us a while to get your bleeding to stop." Kristie rushed over to check the bandages to make sure they were still in place. "You guys got pretty messed up by a wild animal or something, huh?"
Tyler sighed, "Yeah, I guess you can say that." He looked over to Spencer, "Is he going to be alright?"
"You're both pretty banged up but should be alright." She went over to Spencer, "His wounds weren't as bad as yours but it has been almost impossible to keep him warm."
"That's because he's a cold hearted bastard." After a stare of uncertainty he sighed, "He'll be fine. Believe it or not we are friends." He chuckled a bit, "We are always like this."
Kristie just stood there blinking for a minute, "Yeah, o.k. well, I am going to go call my boyfriend and tell him that you're awake. He will want to come by and check on you both." She left the room they were in, closing the door behind her.
Tyler looked around, this didn't seem like a hospital room or a clinic so where the Hell were they? He looked over at Spencer, "You better wake up because when you do, we are leaving."
