Book 1 Ch. 7: World Shaker

Just like the time before Alex felt an intense pressure assault him. Alex was calm and retaliated with his own pressure created by his will power. The two forces clashed, this time, it was noticeable that Alex’s side was much stronger than before and had less trouble resisting.

Still having less trouble and none at all are two different things. Alex still was being slowly forced back and a layer of sweat had appeared on his forehead.

“Hmph is that all you have young tyrant didn’t you want power for your desires!” the metallic voice boom as it increased the force it sent at Alex.

Alex’s eyes widened and he roared, “That’s right, power that is what I want so I crush him, make him writhe in pain and regret as he begs for mercy… So I will not surrender now matter what!”

From Alex, a new force of energy exploded being several times stronger than before. Instantly the clash between the two forces grew more intense to the point that the energy that should have been invisible could clearly be seen. From the hammer, a menacing red aura crashed and rolled like waves. Alex’s aura was something entirely different, its color constantly changed first from dark green, to sky blue, to rich purple, to brilliant gold, to terrifying blood red, then a noble white, and finally a sinister black. Each one of the colors seemed to have a personality of their own as the flow of Alex’s aura was sometimes violent, sometimes calm, sometimes rigid, sometimes flexible.

The presences inside the hammer couldn’t help be shocked upon seeing Alex’s strange aura and inwardly thought ‘it would seem that those two really produced a monster among monsters!’

With heavy breaths, Alex continuous assault gave results as the hammers aura was pushed back. Though the price was Alex was nearly on empty, he had been continuously pushing himself. This fight was much more mental than physical, just standing made him head throb with endless pain that was akin to having thousands of daggers stabbed at his skull and dig in his brain.

Even though it hurt, Alex refused to give in. His desire for revenge pushed him forward, making his body and mind that should have fallen long ago continue to fight, without the slightest sign of stopping.

“This is the end!” with one finally violent roar Alex forced the red aura all the way back to the hammer. The instant his aura touched the hammer Alex found that he couldn’t go any farther no matter how much he exerted himself.

From the hammer, the metallic voice spoke with calmness, “That is enough you have passed the test to receive your Tyrannical Armament.”

Alex with relief stopped his assault and fell to his knees panting. For a moment there was silence, then the voice said, “You are the first in a long time to actually force me back to that extent, I commend you. Now take it your armament has waited long enough!”

From the hammer, a ball that swirled with a rainbow of lights flowed out and quickly flew into Alex’s chest vanishing.

Alex felt a surge of energy flow through him and on his right ring finger an emerald green ring appeared. Alex eyed the hammer and with a puzzled expression asked, “so I don’t get you, aren’t you my Tyrannical Armament thing?”

The voice laughed and replied, “young one, I am the first armament that all others are born from, I am the origin that stands beside your kind.”

“what do you mean my ki-!”

Suddenly Alex’s vision flashed with a flare of golden light. Alex now stood in a field of lush grass and flowers with mountains on both sides in the distance. A gentle breeze touched his skin and a faint sweet fragrance entered his nose.

He saw not far from him a woman sitting on a flat rock in the middle of the field. She wore an elegant red and black dress. Her appearance was like a goddess that had descended from the heavens. Long lustrous red hair flowed down her back and draped over her shoulders, her figure was something that even a top model couldn’t imitate, and her face could ensnare a man with a single glance. A pinnacle beauty is the only way to describe her.

She was looking at a bundle of golden cloth that was cradled in her arms with a gentle smile and eyes filled with deep love. Tears could be seen in her beautiful eyes, still she smiled with love and affection. Suddenly she looked up and stared at Alex. For a moment her expression was one of shock, then it changed to the same as when she was looking at the bundle of cloth.

Alex was confused, who was this woman, why did she look at him like that? Then from the cloth, a tiny arm extended out and a soft cry could be heard. The women immediately turned her attention back to the child while whispering, “There there, you don’t need to cry my little one.”

Alex’s heart pounded, not because of the women’s beauty, but something else he could quite understand. Alex trembled as he reached out his hand, he wanted to know who that was. he opened his mouth to ask who she was, why he felt this way, where they were, but it was not meant to be. No sound came from Alex’s mouth instead again Alex’s vision flared with light.

In panic he shouted, “Wait, don’t go, who are you!?”

An answer never came. Instead, Alex found himself inside the stone room with the hammer. Alex’s appearance had changed again, this time, he ears had become slightly pointed and the whites of his eyes had changed to become black. What changed the most was that he body had gained more muscle and his face had changed to be even more handsome than before.

Alex glared at the hammer as he slowly spoke with an icy voice, “What was that, who was that women!?”

Silence engulf the room, then the metallic voice answered, “it is too early for you to know, when you grow strong enough I will tell you what you want to know.”

Alex’s brow twitched and his tone became even colder, “don’t give me that bullshit! Why can’t you tell me!?”

The metallic voice instantly erupted in rage and shouted, “if I told you now it would only lead you to death, now leave!”

Before Alex could say any more the room warped and Alex was swallowed up by darkness. Alex opened his eyes and found he was back inside his barrier he had created with Gurgel continuing his assault and Glutton slaughtering the rat-men that couldn’t run fast enough.

Suddenly a group of windows entered his vision.

Alex glanced at the windows that appeared and sighed, he was still irritated since the hammer didn’t tell him about that woman. Just what was that? Alex shook his head, he didn’t have time to worry about that. He needed to deal with the problem in front of him.

Looking at the emerald ring on his finger Alex said, “might as well test out this out.”

Alex focused his mind on the ring and it flashed with dark green light. The light enveloped Alex’s body then exploded outward revealing a sinister monster. Blackish green skin that had a metallic luster, razor sharp nails, a long whip-like tail that had a bone that resembled a doubled edged dagger made Alex seem like he was naturally armed to the teeth. What was odd was that he no longer had any eyes or any other facial features other than a mouth with gruesome protruding teeth. A spine of curved spikes ran down his back ending at his tail. To add to his intimidated appearance, he had a strange tribal pattern that looked like vines wrapped around his body that glowed with a dark green light.

Alex looked at himself and said, “Damn, now I look like some final boss from an RPG.”

Glutton’s roots had stopped their onslaught which made Grugal feel uneasy since from outside the barrier he felt an evil, oppressive energy erupt and envelop the entire room. The rat-men that were running for their lives halted unable to move from fear similar to a deer caught in headlights.

Slowly the barrier of vines and roots retracted back into the earth. The moment Grugal saw Alex clad in World Shaker, he could help by tremble almost falling to his knees. A powerful sense of despair clutched him and gave him the thought that he was beneath the monster in front of him.

Alex’s tooth mouth opened and a cold demonic voice leaked out, “Grugal, are you prepared to die!?”

Alex’s words shook Grugal awake, he glared that Alex and spat, “I will not fall to whatever you are, my pride as a king will not allow it!”

With a furious cry, Grugal rushed Alex, his axe erupted with flames more power than before. Alex didn’t move to dodge instead he snapped his fingers and two magic circles appear, one on his right and one on his left. From the magic circles to creatures leaped out.

They were eight feet tall and were covered with shiny black fur. They had gorilla like bodies that rippled with muscles. Though their arms were longer and had monkey-like tails and had savage looking wolf heads. Sharp claws that looked like they could easily cut through steel extended from their fingertips. Just like Alex they had no eyes, but their other senses were increased several times of a normal creature’s since they are nocturnal hunters they don’t need eyesight and could hunt purely on their other senses.

These two powerful creatures filled Grugal with dread. Through his instincts, he could tell they were dangerous beyond belief. Still he wouldn’t back down if he did there was a good chance that all his people would be slaughtered, as a king he couldn’t let that happen!

“go!” Alex said slowly in a soft voice that sounded like the devil was releasing his servants from hell. The two monsters responded together in deep voices, “Yes, as you command!” and then roared before dashing to meet Grugal.

Seeing the two monsters charge at him, Grugal grimaced and grunted. Suddenly his fur changed to a deep purple and he vanished. He reappeared behind the left Dark Forest Hunter with his flaming Alex aiming for its neck. Unexpectedly the hunter lowered its body and pushed off to the left avoiding the axe altogether. At the same time, the other hunter had pierced a claw into the ground and rotated its body to attack Grugal without missing a beat in its comrade’s movements.

Grugal vanished just in time to avoid the claws of the Dark Forest Hunter. The claw missing its target smashed into the ground creating a loud boom and a web of cracks formed.

Grugal, who reappeared stared in disbelief, “such power, if I was hit just now…”

Before Grugal had time to take in the scene the other hunter who had avoided his axe was beside him swatting at him. Grugal rolled to evade the attack ending up behind the hunter and without hesitation aimed for its legs. However again the hunter skillfully dodged the attack by jumping forward. Grugal again showed a face of disbelief, how were these creatures reacting so perfectly?

Sensing danger Grugal disappeared yet again as a power claw swiped passed where his head had just been. This time, when he reappeared, Grugal was met by the other hunter and could only jump back so not to be caught by its deadly claws. Before he had landed Grugal realized that the other hunter was behind him a sinister grunt came from it that sounded like a laugh.

There was nothing he could do, he was still in midair so he could redirect himself or even move to dodge the attack. Not only that but the other hunter was charging over to help finish him off.

In his last moments, Grugal wondered just how they could coordinate so well, never had he seen anything like it.

The reason was because of World Shakers ability, Terra Network. This ability allowed Alex to ‘see’ everything around him for 100 meters in the form of a 3d map. Not only that but it boosted his mental capacity, comprehension speed, reaction time, and five sense, allowing him to make calculations in an instant and command the two hunters in a way that enabled them to react to Grugal’s movements perfectly. This form of fighting was truly oppressive as it didn’t allow the opponent any room to retaliate in the slightest.

Alex’s lips curled into a sinister smile as he saw that Grugal had nowhere to run.

Grugal let out a sigh, “so it’s come to this.” Suddenly his fur changed to a lustrous gold. The rat man king abandoned his axe, reached out his hand and grabbed onto the hunter’s claw with lightning fast speed. Grugal rotated his body using the hunter’s claw as an anchor to shift his position and flipped in the air.

Grugal landing on all four, letting out a furious roar he darted forward aiming directly at Alex. His claws ready to pierce Alex’s throat victory was in his grasp.

Suddenly an elderly voice echoed through the cavern, “You fool, dodge!”
