Grugal’s face twitched, Alex had not only insulted him again but also threw his words back in his face.
Slowly the giant rat man rose from his throne and descended the long steps down to where Alex was.
Grugal chuckled and said, “Human, you are worthy of praise to have defeated so many of my men so effortlessly, however there are still many more to take their place.”
Alex glanced to either side of the cave where dozens of rat men were crawling out of tunnels dug into the rock. By the time the king had walked down the long flight of stairs, there was a few thousand rat men, each one an elite.
Alex swept his gaze over the crowd, his calm arrogance dropped ever so slightly. He knew in this situation it would be impossible to kill all the rat men surround him and the king. He was nearly out of mana and the feeling he got from Grugal told him just killing him would be difficult. Alex knowing this could only turn to his oldest weapon, his words.
“Oh, so the great king of the rat men needs so many just to kill me. I didn’t realize that appearance of your is just for show and you were just a coward.”
Alex’s words struck a nerve in Grugal, even as a monster he had pride as a king. Still he wouldn’t be deceived so easily. With a snort, Grugal said, “I don’t need them, but why should I fight you myself?”
Alex laughed rudely as if Grugal had just said the funniest joke in the world.
“so you say, why indeed? Your just afraid of me and are only making an excuses so that you don’t humiliate yourself, right?” said Alex in an icy condescending tone.
Grugal’s eyes turned red, never had he been spoken to by any creature, not even the other humans he encountered! Alex’s words were a slap to his face, something he couldn’t allow.
Grugal roared with anger, “All of don’t interfere! And you human your pet stays out of this as well!”
Alex shrugged and with a sneer said, “Fine with me.”
The rat-men all took distance creating a ring that was, at least, one hundred meters wide. Alex and Grugal stared at each other. The bloodlust from the two of them was suffocating and caused the rat men to freeze up as they walked the two observe the other waiting for an opening.
Alex inwardly let out a sigh, if Grugal had instead ordered his men to attack Alex and Glutton would be finished. However, fighting him one on one there was still a chance. Alex had only around 20% of his mana supply left, he need to make every move count.
Silence engulfed the room to the extent that even the softest of breathing could be heard.
Suddenly Grugal launched forward each set propped him several feet. He closed the distance between him and Alex in seconds and let out a savage cry.
Alex sucked in a mouthful of cold air, “he’s fast! …... But!”
Alex raised his hand and a wall of trees burst from the ground like a wave threatening to crush Grugal. Grugal snorted and to Alex’s surprised brandished his Ax. As he swung towards the wall of trees, the red crystal blade flared with light and became engulfed in flames.
The flaming axe sliced through the trees without any resistance, though it still forced Grugal to jump over the stumps he didn’t slow much.
Even with Grugal quickly approaching Alex remained calm. Since his personality was altered, he had a much better grasp on his emotions, though he knew what fear was he could suppress it.
When Grugal was only a few meters away, Alex made his move. Using <
When he was about to land, Alex appeared in front of him swinging his war hammer. Grugal rotated his body and although he shouldn’t have been about to counter while, in the air, he swung his flame covered axe at Alex’s head.
Alex ducked down cancelling his attack with his hammer and instead charged forward ramming his shoulder into Grugal’s chest. Grugal staggered back a few steps his face slightly pained. Alex didn’t let up and followed Grugal. He aimed at Grugal’s waist with his hammer intending to cripple the rat man king. However, Grugal used the momentum of him staggering and jumped back to avoid Alex’s swing.
Alex, however, predicted his and raised his hand. Several roots erupted from the ground behind Grugal. He panicked and slammed his axe into the ground to slow his momentum. Without missing a beat Alex had moved to attack Grugal for a pincer attack, but because Grugal had slowed down he was out of the range of the roots and only Alex met him.
Grugal hastily swung his axe and it ripped through the air towards Alex. Likewise, Alex’s war hammer came crashing down readying to crush Grugal skull.
With a loud bang, the two weapons collided. From the force of the two’s weapons a shockwave of energy blow out kicking up dust and blocking the view of the two.
Within the dust cloud, Alex and Grugal were locked in a game of strength. Neither was give the other the slightly bit of ground, however that suited Alex just fine. From beneath Grugal brambles grow and coiled around him, binding his movements.
Alex moved back to prepare to attack again. Grugal couldn’t move let alone dodge and could only take Alex’s hammer to the side of his head.
Grugal was sent flying several meters before rolling on the ground to a stop. Alex didn’t give him time to recover and pounced at Grugal raising his hammer high. Suddenly Grugal’s fur turned a dark red and he roared like a mad beast. Grugal jumped onto his feet and with a savage howl swung his axe. The flaming axe collided with Alex’s hammer, this time, Alex was sent back dozens of meters and smashed into the ground.
Alex coughed up a mouthful of blood as he stood. His chest screamed in pain and his arms were swollen. Just from one exchange, Alex who was dominating the match had received a great deal of damage. In the distance, Alex heard Grugal laugh, “What happened to your big words human, after one hit you’ve gone all quiet!?”
Alex groundhis teeth, his eyes held a cold fire. Grugal’s power had exploded, raising several levels, Alex wasn’t as confident as before in beating him. He had to think of something quickly or…
“Die!” Grugal kicked the ground appearing in front of Alex instantly. Alex didn’t have time to dodge, Grugal’s axe was only a foot away from his neck. Placing all his hopes in one move Alex activated both <

The blade decreased in speed considerably, but it still was like a truck. The axe hit Alex’s hammer and he shot backwards like a cannon ball. Alex flew towards the edge of the ring and slide to a halt. Grugal smiled coldly and laughed, “looks like this is it, human you disappoint me!”
Grugal slowly makes his way over to Alex, his axe dragging on the ground making a loud grinding sound. Suddenly a laugh echoed throughout the cave. Alex was laughing as he lay on the ground, his voice came with a coldness that made the entire area drop a few degrees.
“You think you won, your only a fool who doesn’t realize when you have been tricked!”
The rat man king roared with laughter as he continued to make his way over to Alex. What he didn’t notice what was directly behind Alex. While Alex had been fighting Glutton had been securing its roots in a stationary state. Alex had intentionally let Grugal hit him in with his axe the last time since it let him flew to where Glutton had rooted itself.
Without warning roots and bramble erupted from the ground and formed a dome that protected Alex and Glutton.
With a weak voice, Alex said, “alright Glutton I used nearly the last of my mana making the barrier so let loose and kill all of them.”
Alex already knew that he couldn’t beat the rat king and even if he did the others would kill him. So the best chance he had was to turtle and let Glutton attack with its roots from the safe of the barrier. While this strategy was cowardly and shameless, Alex didn’t care he didn’t need honor, only results.
From within the dome of vegetation, Glutton roared and tens of thousands of roots burrowed up piercing the rat men like spears.
Like a wave, the roots flowed shooting out of the ground then retreating quickly moving forward the next target. Since Glutton’s roots were as thin as a pencil, they had to accurately aim for the enemies vitals since they could deal any major otherwise.
The rat-men struggled desperately, trying to fight off the mass of spear-like roots with shields or blades. Sadly the ones that stopped to try and fight back were turned into swiss cheese in seconds. There was no stopping the roots path of destruction. Blood and gore scattered everywhere dyeing the ground red.
Alex instantly heard a few dings as over five hundred rat men died instantly. Glutton was just to tyrannical in its stationary state as its power multiples tens of times. The only drawback was that it took quite a bit of time to fully root itself that is why he distract the rat men by fighting with Grugal.
From the outside of the barrier, Alex could hear the rat men panicking and scrambling to get out of the range of Glutton’s roots. Suddenly something crashed into the barrier shaking it.
Grugal’s wrathful voice came from the other side of the barrier, “You cunning bastard, I’ll kill you just you wait.”
Through Glutton Alex saw that Grugal was dodging Glutton’s roots and counterattacking with his axe. Each strike lit a part of the barrier on fire causing Alex began to sweet nervously. If Grugal wasn’t stopped, he might actually bring down the barrier Alex created.
Another ding rang in his ears signaling he had leveled up, but he ignored it. Alex could see the flames licking at the barrier, it wouldn’t last for more than a few minutes. Alex didn’t know what to do, his mind blanked. He was out of mana and heavily wounded. If Glutton focused completely on Grugal he could be killed, but in the process they might be swarmed by the other rat men and that would be just as bad.
By now there were a few holes in the barrier big enough to fit a child’s fist through. Another ding rang in his mind and with this one a message appeared.

YESNO
Alex didn’t hesitate and clicked the YES button.
Suddenly the world around him changed. It became a pitch black, then with a flare of light, Alex stood on a stone floor. The walls had weird markings on them and from the design of the room along with the lush vines hanging from the ceiling and vegetation on the ground and walls it remained Alex of a Mayan temple from a movie.
In the center of the center of the room were four pillars each at a corner point of a square shaped magic array. From the streams of green light float out and into a massive hammer that floated in the center of the magic array.
The Hammer looked like it was meant for a giant. The handle was ten feet long and looked like vines had twisted together to form it. The head was gigantic, being big enough that it could crush the torso and abdomen of a full grown man and still reach some of his limbs. The head was made out of blackish purple stone and was rectangular in shape. The head was attached to the handle by vines that covered it. The head had pulsing golden green veils that connected to the vines that wrapped around the head and traveled down the handle giving it a mysterious artifact look.
Alex inhaled quickly his was the hammer he had seen before. Though the image last time was blurred he was sure of it. Alex walked over to the hammer and reach out his hand. Just as he was about to touch it, just like last time a deadly pressure burst from the hammer and nearly force Alex to his knees. From the hammer, the same metallic voice echoed.
“Hoho, so you have returned? Let's see if you are ready to wield me, young tyrant!”
