At the academy, John, Ezra, Ash, Hina, Via, Kya, Kiki, and the other students all entered the room where they took the firearm testing. As the students entered the room, the students noticed the center of the room had twenty metal, cylinder-shaped pillars standing up in a square position, standing about thirty feet high and each pillar about a foot wide for only one person could stand on them at a time.
“Alright, class.” Miss Gunda said. “For this class we will test your speed and agility with a well-known game that first originated in Oreana, called Faibu. What you will do is two students at a time will stand on either side of the square. When the buzzer rings, there will be a ball you must throw or kick into targets that spring from random points of the pillars once your hand makes contact with the ball. The targets will show a number and you will say the plural of the number to the ball, this will cause the ball to light up green, but if you don’t say the number and the ball hits the target, it will light up red and you won’t get any points from it. Don’t worry about the ball leaving the square, there is a magic shield that will keep anything from leaving the square.”
The first two students were Kya and a random student in the group. They both stared each other in the eye and prepared for the buzzer to ring. Miss Gunda raised a magic shield around the square.
“Oh, students. One last thing.” Miss Gunda said. “The numbers on the targets only appear for two seconds, so hit your targets quickly and be careful not to let the other student take the ball from you. You have five minutes.”
Kya took a deep breath, she quickly looked at Kiki then looked back at her opponent. The buzzer rang and a ball about the size of a soccer ball shot from the floor below in the center of the square, sending the two students racing for the ball as it was still in mid air, both of them watching their footing to avoid falling.
Kya almost caught the ball, but the student took it and saw a target, a metal hoop with a hole in the center showing a number by a holographic screen, spring up with the number two on it. “Twos.” the student said before trowing the ball at the target just as it turned green. The ball went through the target, causing the hoop to make a beeping sound to indicate a point.
The ball fell to the bottom, but was instantly shot back up by a spring mechanism. Kya dashed for the ball, catching it in her hand just before the other student did. She saw the target spring up on one of the farthest pillars and saw the number, she then threw it, hitting the side of the hoop. The two students kept at it for the remaining time they had, both students got as many points as they could before their time was up. The buzzer rang again and the next students were called up. As two other students were doing the test, Kya sat down against the wall that the other students were and caught her breath. As she was resting, John walked over to her and said, “Hey again.”
‘Oh, it’s you. Hi.” Kya said.
“You good?”
“Yeah.”
Just then, Kiki walked up to Kya, “Kya, you were amazing up there. I knew you were fast but I didn’t know you were that quick.”
“This a friend of yours?” John asked.
“I’m Kya’s sister.” Kiki said proudly.
“Half-sister.” Kya interjected.

John shook Kiki’s hand and said, “Well, it is nice to meet you.”
“Same. Hey, we should definitely all hang out some time.”
“Yeah, sounds good. I can introduce you to my roommate.”
‘Where is your roommate?” Kiki asked.
“He’s watching the test. He seems to be really be focused after what happened in the first test.”
“I bet, his aim is the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen.” Kya added.
“Well, maybe he’s good at being agile.”
The students that were doing the test ran out of time and John and Kiki were called.
“Looks like I will be training with you.”
“Yep, I can’t wait.”
“You seem excited.”
“I sure am, now let’s go throw a ball around!”
John and Kiki got up on the pillars, Kiki had a look of determination glowing on her face. The two looked into each other’s eyes before the buzzer rang, sending the ball up in mid air. The two made their way to the ball, John caught it but Kiki kicked it out of his hand. The ball flew into the magic shield and ricocheted off of it. Kiki caught the ball and a hoop sprang up, “Twelves.” Kiki said before throwing it through the target.
“She’s quick.” John said to himself before going after the ball once it sprang up. John caught it, Kiki right behind him. John saw the target and said the number on the hoop, trowing the ball. Almost missing, the ball went through the hoop.
John and Kiki’s mach went on as both of them were doing fairly well. John was skilled in agility from jobs he did for Big G when he was a kid that required him to move across routes with many obstacles in the way. But as he kept fighting for the ball, John noticed that Kiki was a little more quicker with her movements, “She’s good, I have to get the ball through the hoops as many times as I have to if I want to be accepted into the program.” John said to himself.
One minute remained on the clock; John and Kiki continued to fight for the ball as John would catch the ball and Kiki would find a way to get it from him and vice-versa. Time went on until there was only ten seconds remaining. John saw Kiki holding the ball and heading towards a hoop, “I gotta get one last point. I know this is only the second test, but every point counts.” John said as he made his way towards Kiki.
Kiki with the ball in hand, the hoop just a few feet in front of her, prepared to say the number on the target and make the throw. Her hand that held the ball winded back like a catapult, but just as she was about to speak, John came from below the pillars and grabbed the ball straight from Kiki’s hand. John then said the number and threw the ball through the hoop right before the buzzer rang, ending the test for John and Kiki.
The two students rejoined the other students, “Wow, that was awesome!” Kiki said, excitement rushing through her.
“Good job, John. You and Kiki really went at it.” Ash said.
Miss Gunda called up the next students: Ezra and Kya. As Kya walked towards the square, Kiki ran up behind her and said, “Hey, Kya. Good luck.”. Kya looked over at Kiki before turning back and heading to the square.
Ezra and Kya got in the square, The buzzer rang and the ball sprang up. Kya quickly caught the ball, Ezra seemed to be agile enough, not falling or tripping off of the pillars, but it wasn’t anything to be impressed about as he just looked like a child jumping across rocks and trying not to slip. Five minutes passed and the buzzer rang, ending the test for Ezra and Kya. Kya got the ball through the hoops multiple times while Ezra didn’t even manage to get one, leaving everyone in the room bewildered.
“Wow, he’s kinda bad.” Ash said.
Ezra and Kya left the square, “Hey, great work.” Ezra said to Kya.
“Are you kidding me?” Kya said annoyed. “It baffles me how you even got in this school. I suggest you get good at something and fast.” she continued before storming off to a part of the room.
Ezra got alongside John, “She’s right, you know?” John said.
“Yeah, I know, but I am good at hand-to-hand, maybe that can be enough.”
“Well, if hand-to-hand is in the testing, you’ve got a chance to prove yourself then.”
The testing went on; Ash and her brother proved to be fast and agile while Hinata was a little less agile but relatively faster than John was. After the testing was done, The students were dismissed. John and Ezra both headed to the cafeteria for lunch. As the two were walking, Kiki ran up behind the two guys and said, “Hey, you mind if I join you?”. The two accepted and they started heading off to eat.
