Chapter 36 Spirit Technique

Chapter 36 Spirit Technique

The four spirit techniques Fraser bought were the basic beast spirit technique, the basic telekinesis spirit technique, the basic common use of spirit technique and the increase particles spirit technique

As Fraser traded for a baby bat, he naturally started with the basic beast spirit technique which would allow him to tame and control an animal.

Though there were a few conditions in order to be able to use it on animals. First and foremost the targeted animal should have a way less intelligence and spirit than the caster, or else the spirit technique would backlash and thus injure or even kill the caster.

Secondly, the physical attributes shouldn’t differ that much as apparently the physical strength of the animal would also defend the invading spirit of the caster.

These two conditions were the only conditions for the spirit technique which made its uses limited but also broad.

As the essence of the basic beast spirit technique consisted of forming your own spirit mark into the spirit of the animal and thus controlling its life.

You didn’t need to separate your spirit as the spirit mark would leech of the spirit of the targeted beasts, thus sustaining the connection and allowing transfer of emotions and a few impressions of the animal senses towards the caster.

With ease, Fraser formed a spirit mark accordingly to the spirit technique and slowly guided the finished spirit mark into the baby bat who only adorably squicked.

The spirit mark didn’t look complicated, instead, it was only a small spirit blob which Fraser formed.

To be honest the basic beast spirit technique didn’t have anything complicated in it. The only thing it explained was the theory on how to allow your spirit blob leech of the spirit of the animals to sustain itself as well as on how to control and use the animal implanted by the spirit technique.

There was nothing fancy with the technique, it seemed too easy. Just form a blob of spirit and allow it to leech of the spirit of the animal to sustain itself.

Fraser could even see how the spirit blob entered the baby bat and easily secured a good spot directly next to the baby bats spirit blob.

‘With all these techniques and my knowledge, spirit more and more resembles the soul. At least that is my theory about the so-called spirit.’

For a quick moment, Fraser regained his thoughts before continuing to watch on how his spirit blob reacted with the spirit blob of the baby bat.

‘I never ever watched another spirit blob. It seems almost unreal. I can even feel how the basic beast spirit technique drains the spirit out of the animal in order to sustain itself.’

Fraser continued to watch how the mark drained the spirit of the baby bat in a slow manner.

‘If there exists a quick way of draining I could easily use my dark ropes as draining medium. However, there exists a lot of possibilities and I don’t have to hurry up. My progression is steady and it shouldn’t be rushed.’

After Fraser learned the basic beast spirit technique within moments he didn’t even deem the other spirit techniques as something special anymore.

And indeed. The other spirit techniques weren’t that special. The basic telekinesis spirit technique which sounded like a powerful and mighty spirit technique only explained how to move physical objects with only using spirit.

It was interesting to see how Fraser was able to manipulate spirit outside of the spirit room and how it affected reality.

But for Fraser's taste it took too much spirit and it didn’t have an efficient spirit-power correlation.

Even if Fraser didn’t saw the basic telekinesis spirit technique as something useful, Fraser still learned it in order to have more cards in his sleeve.

Since who knows? Maybe this basic telekinesis spirit technique will be useful in some kind of way.

The basic common use of spirit technique was something that interested Fraser for quite a while.

The spirit technique had no active part of it, instead, everything was theory and how the spirit could be manipulated and shaped.

It even had basic stuff like how to use your spirit with more efficient and on how to read and react according to spirit marks or spirit related objects.

Though most contents talked about theory and how to spirits who met each other would react.

With surprise two spirits couldn’t really fight each other without any techniques, neither could they defend naturally if the other spirit had an offensive technique or attack.

The spirit technique book, which Fraser now doubted as theory book of spirit techniques, described the meetings of two spirits as if two people could see each other but couldn’t attack each other.

They were able to communicate and see how strong the spirit was, but the stronger spirit couldn’t attack the weaker spirit without a technique.

The book again showed an image of two people standing a certain distance away. Both were able to talk and shout while seeing on how strong the other person was, but as they couldn’t move or run attack of defense was not possible.

Though there were exceptions which the spirit book described the spirit as having a bow and arrow for an attack or a shield in order to defend itself.

Naturally, the basic common spirit technique suggested that a defensive spirit technique should be prioritized or else the spirit would get damaged, regardless whether the spirit attack was weak or not.

Deciding to buy a defensive spirit technique as soon as possible Fraser grabbed the last spirit technique, the increase particles spirit technique.

And again Fraser was pleasingly surprised. The spirit technique would allow his spell model dark rope to gather almost immediately. It would also allow him to gather the particles in the air in a quick manner as the spirit technique described a certain pattern in which the spirit should move in order to attract more particles.

It seemed a little bit silly to Fraser to move the spirit in order to gather more particles as the spirit only needed to shake in a certain rhythm. However, it worked and Fraser was able to form two dark ropes in an instant.

As Fraser finished learning his four spirit techniques he was a little bit disappointed. Most of them were easy and quick to learn.

He should have bought more spirit techniques as they seemed to have a lot to do with the basic controlling of the spirit.

Shaking his head Fraser thought.

‘I will return to the Howling Abyss Academy within two and a half years. I should use the time in order to gather rare materials from the howling abyss. I could even trade most of the potions for materials as I would receive more materials if I trade and buy with magic crystals. Besides, there are many interesting things at the howling abyss which I can obviously research.’

At the last part of his thoughts, Fraser turned towards the pile of animal corpses and interesting things the traded with the senior apprentices of the inner circle.

‘It is time to experiment.’ thought Fraser while rubbing his hands together.

He didn’t know why he did that, but it felt appropriate for the situation.
