Chapter 16 Selling a Potion (1)

Chapter 16 Selling a Potion (1)

Even if doing tasks for magic crystals doesn’t seemed to give much magic crystals Fraser still walked into the task hall in order to look at the available tasks.

Who knows, maybe there would some kind of tasks allowing Fraser to earn a couple of magic crystals every month with little to no work.

It was unrealistic as Fraser was only an Apprentice Level 1 with no spell model, meaning that his only use was his physical body and his ability to create potions.

Though the potions Fraser was able to create were limited to the basic explosion potion. Which according to the fatty in the market section sold pretty well.

The only problem was that Fraser still didn’t knew how much one basic explosion potion sold for. As the fatty somehow turned from arrogance into submission despite only hearing that Fraser is a student of Magus Sept.

‘I should visit the fatty after I looked at possible tasks.’

Fraser stepped into the task hall where the task board was located. What awaited Fraser was multiple boards standing in the hall with small notes on top of it. The fascinating thing was that no paper got removed by hand, instead students would look at the description before waving their hands and then continue to look at other notices or walk away.

As Fraser achieved the rank of Apprentice Level 1, in other words the starting line of magic, he felt that the students used their spirit to do something. He even felt a small change in the particles.

Interested Fraser looked at the different boards only to notice that most tasks had the purpose of acquiring something in order to receive magic crystals.

Weird things like black mushroom who needed to be the size of an arm or snot of a mountain bat were common things which needed to be harvested.

The problem was that rewards were almost nonexistent. While the people who “registered” themselves for the task seemed to be everywhere.

As long as the task had no mentioning of danger or possibility of injury then there would always be a couple of dozen people registering for the task. Most of the people registered for simple tasks like harvesting plants or feeding beasts.

Naturally they were also the most popular.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

Searching for a while Fraser had to say that most tasks didn’t allowed for quick magic crystals and often didn’t payed much magic crystals even if the work seemed hard.

Quickly Fraser realized that not only tasks seemed to be in the task hall as there were two receptions.

Each for one side of the hall.

One side administrated the tasks given out to people and managed the items or verification of their labor, while the other side allowed students or Magus to post their offered service.

Naturally most students searched for work and most commonly wrote: “Willing to work, I am an Apprentice of the Level, most were level 1 or 2, strong body and diligent. Leave Spirit Mark to contact me.”

Though often times there would be no Spirit Mark under these notes. What had a lot of Spirit Marks were the lessons of the Magus which mostly had an Advanced in front of their subjects, like advanced botany, advanced spell models, advanced language of Runterra and many more.

Since Fraser couldn’t use the task hall with full potential yet he just looked around in order to broaden his vision, in other words the Data of his AI.

After that Fraser quickly moved towards the market section in order to know how much he would be able to sell his basic explosion potion for.

Naturally as his potion only had the color of white-grey he had to sell it for a lower amount.

But it couldn’t hurt knowing the amount of magic crystals one had to pay in order for a white basic explosion potion.

Obviously because Fraser had 29 more basic explosion potion which all had the white color and were located in his chamber.

‘It’s a pity that I am not able to sell everything in a bulk, I have to fake my mastery in order to let other people know that I am slowly increasing my success percentage.’

While walking towards the shop with the fatty Fraser looked through the display windows of the shops in order to get a crude estimate price for most things.

It was also helpful that every product showed in the display windows had a sign with their name on it allowing Fraser to store more Information with his AI.

Quickly Fraser arrived at the shop where the fatty gifted him a second handed Alchemy Set.

Without surprise the fatty still sat there looking into air.

Only this time the fatty actually looked at Fraser before hesitating what to say.

After all he did not know whether Fraser came back for more ingredients or gave up, since the last time Fraser appeared was over a month ago.

“I came here to sell my potion which I created, how many magic crystals is this potion worth.” said Fraser while giving out his white-grey basic explosion potion.

With an astonished face the fatty looked at Fraser before coughing: “It appears you are really talented, how about I buy the basic explosion potion at the marked price so I don’t earn any magic crystals and you can invest your magic crystals into more materials? I will give you 4 magic crystals for the white-grey potion, after all it’s not white. If it would be white then I would have given you 5 magic crystals at market price.”

‘There is something fishy, you don’t buy the potion without having suspicion. After all I could just put something greyish into the small flask and then sell it to him.’

“Okay, to whom are you selling this basic explosion potion?” asked Fraser as he handed the small flask with the potion over to fatty.

“To my usual customer, can I do anything else for you?” replied fatty with a grin.

“Ah yeah, I would like to buy 4 batches of materials with the 4 magic crystals I earned from the one potion.” said Fraser while thinking inwardly how this fatty can be so easy to deceive.

Receiving his 40 black stones which after a short talk with the fatty seemed to be named black fire eggs as they looking like small eggs but would explode if the black shell cracked.

Sweat poured out of Frasers body as vowed to himself to be more careful around materials.

With 40 black fire eggs in a small bag Fraser left the shop. After walking dozens of step Fraser turned around and slowly sneaked towards the window of the shop.

Of course Fraser checked the surrounding for other students or human and would abort his curiosity as soon as another student or human would be in sight.

What he saw confirmed the fishy smell, the fatty waited for a while before stepping out of his shop in order to look out for people. As he only looked for short moments Fraser went unnoticed.

Then the fatty quickly ran back into the shop and walked through the door which led further into the shop causing Fraser to lose sight of him.
