Three weeks passed in a blink as Fraser trained every day. As soon as he woke up he would start increasing his spirit with the Basic Meditation Technique. Sometimes he would add a few training sessions of the Basic Knight Breathing Technique in the mix.
'AI, show me my body stats.'
[5.34 strength, 5.67 agility, 5.38 vitality, 9.08 spirit]
The change in his spirit wasn't that noticeable for Fraser as the only thing changed was that his mental processing ability increased. Even training in the Basic Knight Breathing Technique felt easier as the positions turned into instinct.
Even if Fraser couldn't feel any direct benefit in the increase of his spirit he sometime fell into a mysterious state in which he felt connected to the world.
He wasn't able to describe the feeling since it felt so weird. It felt like watching, hearing and touching the surrounding at the same time while knowing that there is an energy in the surrounding that could be used.
As his spirit passed the number 9.00 the sometimes increased to a few times per day. Fraser felt like if his spirit reached the threshold of 10.00 then he would be able to achieve the mysterious state in every meditation and thus be able to use magic.
'If my spirit reaches the number 10.00 then I should be an Apprentice Level 1. The real starting line at becoming a Magus. Since Magus Sept and the other professors seemed to be a stage higher than Apprentice Level.'
In these weeks Fraser did not only meditated. He also visited every free lesson there was. Though most Magus hurried out of the big hall as if the students owed them magic crystals they would always mix a little bit of their understanding in the lessons.
"How to control negative particles", "Spell Models", "Basic Botany", "Basic Taming", "Basic Transplantation", "Basic Anatomy" were only a few examples of the free lessons.
Fraser had to admit that the free lessons made him admire magic more and more. It felt like there was an infinity amount of things that magic could do.
Suspiciously he was one of the youngest students sitting in the free lessons halls which were humongous.
But Fraser didn't care about the other students so he didn't cared about anyone missing or not attending the free lessons.
As long as he learned something interesting it didn't mattered what the others would do.
'Today is the day where I will reach Apprentice Level 1 and where I will be able to sense the particles. It will also be the same moment where I will start being a Magus and begin my Journey.'
Sitting on his Bed Fraser started to meditate. Since he was less than one spirit point away from ten spirit points Fraser decided to meditate until he reached the ten spirit points.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
As Fraser meditated he could feel himself falling into the same state he fell into before. The state where it felt like he could see, hear and touch the surrounding at the same time.
But this time he could feel that the particles seemed to be more detailed.
Fraser immersed himself into the state as he continued to meditate.
[Beep, Spirit reached 9.87. Concluded that the Host reached Apprentice Level 1]
Opening his eyes Fraser smiled. He didn't needed 10 Spirit points, he needed less than 10.
'AI change the 9.87 spirit into 1 again then make a folder with the data of the spirit before I reached Apprentice Level 1.'
Since 9.87 felt a little bit odd and unpleasant to the eye Fraser decided to revert his spirit back to 1.00. At least numerically in order to see how much spirit he needed in order to reach Apprentice Level 2 or even 3.
Reaching Apprentice Level 1 caused Fraser to be happy, yet at the same time he felt tired. He meditated for a longer period than usual and thus closed his eyes and slept, after a short period of celebrating his success in his mind.
When Fraser woke up the first thing he noticed was that he missed the daily free lesson which caused him to frown. Every free lesson expanded his knowledge as well as the Database of the AI to an almost huge degree.
But since he couldn't revert time Fraser didn't bothered with the missed lesson and moved towards his new experiment: Alchemy.
As he reached Apprentice Level 1 Fraser could see into his mind where he would be able to draw white things in the dark room. Every stroke or line consumed a little bit of his mental power and left him tired or even exhausted.
Fraser knew that he would have to build a spell model in his mind if he wanted to use magic and thus played a little bit by drawing lines with his mind power.
But back to Alchemy. In theory Fraser only needed to fuel the Alchemy set with his spirit in order to use the various set items to extract or refine the material.
Yet it wasn't that easy as Fraser thought. As he tried to extract one of the black stones for the explosive essence he pulled a little bit too heavily with the set item causing too much essence to be pulled out. This resulted in a small explosion, shattering the prepared flask and small burns on Frasers hand which he raised in order to protect his head.
'AI, record every progress and put it into the folder Alchemy, Basic Explosion Potion. Also give me a hologram on how much spirt I have to put into the Alchemy Equipment in order to extract or refine the black stone.'
The AI recorded every failure of Fraser and corrected it on the next try. Thus allowing Fraser to almost complete one Basic Explosion Potion. The last Basic Explosion Potion failed because Fraser didn't mixed everything quick enough and thus spoiling the short lived black powder of the stone.
With success one step away Fraser hurried back to the market section and bought materials with his last five magic stones.
Excited Fraser stepped back into his Chamber with fifty of the black stones needed for a Basic Explosion Potion.
Without any surprise the first Basic Explosion Potion was quickly finished and Fraser held a small flask with a lid sealing the highly explosive liquid in it.
The liquid appeared to be as white as a bone. From the Knowledge Fraser had the Basic Explosion Potion was better the colorless it was. Meaning the best Basic Explosion Potion had to have the same color as water.
White Color was normal and white-gray was useable. Every other color meant that one of the materials of the black stones got spoiled or extracted badly, another reason could be that the fusion didn't worked.
After creating three more Basic Explosion Potion Fraser stopped. Each Potion appeared to be worse than the first with the last one being almost grey.
'I clearly felt that my spirit feels drained whenevery I extract or fuse anything with the Alchemy Equipment. AI, is there a way to let me see the exact amount of spirit I use for extraction or how much spirit I use in general?'
