Chapter 4: Better and Better...
-Mad Scientist's POV-
[Wuh-ha-ha-ha-ha!]
A maniacal laughter echoes throughout the dimly lit hallways. A lonely fluorescent light bulb dangles from a two story high ceiling. Scattered around the room was a clutter of various contraptions; contraptions so bizarre, it's as if it came straight from another world.
[bzzzz]
There, in the middle of all that solitude, is a mad scientist, welding together a circuit board on his newest creation...
“It’s finish! It’s finished! Miyu! Miyu! You there?!” (???)
“beep- Yes Professor. How may I assist you?” (Miyuki)
“Tell the guys to start phase 3 of omega! Hurry!” (Prof. ???)
“beep- As you wish Professor” (Miyuki)
Scampering his way to the elevator, the Professor tidies his white coat and slicked back his grey hair. Stumbling inside, his shaky fingers hover over the control panel, he guides his finger down one button at a time, B2... B3... B4... B5....
“Greeting Professor, preparations will take 5 minutes, please have a seat” (Miyuki)
“No! Bring me to the dock!” (Prof. ???)
“This way please” (Miyuki)
Walking through a futuristic laboratory, they made their way to a circular shaped room and stopped at the door. The secretary small fingers glide up her thin waist; reaching inside her supple bosom, she pulls out an access card strapped around her neck. Sliding the card through the lock, the door begins to open...
[rumbling]
“Ah-greeting Koyanagi, brilliant work like always” (???)
“I assume everything on your end is operational?” (Prof. Koyanagi)
“Hah, of course! I may be old, but I still got a few years left in me!” (???)
Walking towards a giant glass cylinder, there was a beautiful crystal; emitting hues of blue and white, it was suspended in the center. Professor Koyanagi looks up with a satisfied grin.
“It’s been 14 years my friend, we’re finally ready to capture the energy flow” (Prof. Koyanagi)
“Hahaha! Soon, Golden Age will finally see it’s completion! I can’t wait!” (???)

-Sora's POV-
“Sora! We’re late for school again!” (Akiko)
“I know already! Just keep running!” (Sora)
Oh God, please spare me Oka’s wrath!
Whilst opening the door to hell, Sora took the first step.
[tap tap tap tap…]
“Sora Sato, how many times do you plan on being late this year?” (Prof. Okamoto)
“Eh-This is the last time, I promise!” (Sora)
Oh that overbearing presence! Once again staring down at Sora! Her typical pose involves her arms cross, gently, oh so gently, raising her bust just enough to show some cleavage through the top of her white blouse. The curves from her hip to her toes were wrapped in a dark venom. The poison to every man’s lust, her black mini-skirt and hold-ups reveals just enough of her porcelain white skin to make a boy curious, as if inviting him to come in…
“Sora, I’ll be seeing you after school. Take your seat” (Prof. Okamoto)
Ugh… I’ll have less time to play now…
Sora’s hobbles his way towards his seat, again, glaring at Akiko as she dodged another bullet.
As school came to a close, Sora was changing his clothes in the locker room...
“Hey Sora, you free this afternoon? We found a new labyrinth yesterday, Yuta and Shota are in, how about you?” (Mitsuo)
“Eh, sorry, I’m busy with a... quest...” (Sora)
“That’s too bad bro! You’re gonna miss out on some epic loot!” (Yuta)
“Hey, lets get outta here, I wanna test out my new bow!” (Shota)
“Yeah, see ya Sora, have fun with Oka!” (Yuta)
“Bye Sora” (Mitsuo & Shota)
Doom. The feeling of absolute dread. Sora crawls at a snails pace towards his executioner.
“Hello Sora…” (Prof. Okamoto)
Across from Sora is a viper. A black, exotic viper, perched up on a table, glaring at her prey. Like black licorice, tempting a child to lick from head to toe, her supple calves cross, while concealing the entrance to the Garden of Eden. Her back arch ever so slightly, as she puts all her weight onto one arm. Her bust slowly rises from her chest as she pulls back her shoulder blades. Licking her lips, she coils her index finger, it’s as if you could hear the fingers whispering ‘come closer’...
Whimpering, Sora makes his way towards the alluring beast.
“Here” (Prof. Okamoto)
Dropping a dust rag over his head....
“Get cleaning.” (Prof. Okamoto)
Sigh… this day keeps getting better and better...

It’s the break of dawn. The sun filters through the thicket of trees as the birds sing their morning song. Camping out in the wilderness are two men, well, to be more accurate, its more like a man and a boy.
[Yawn~]
“Good Morning Marcus, how’s your body doing?” (Woodcutter Alex)
“All good Alex! Ready to go!” (Marcus)
“Hah! You’re a vigorous one I see! Hard to imagined you could keep up with me!” (Woodcutter Alex)
For the past two days, Marcus had been trekking the mountain alongside Alex. Through curious of the destination, Sora never dare to ask Alex where they were heading. He just followed along; while jumping from one overgrown tree-root to the next…
[ping]
+1 agility, + 1 stamina
After 2 more hours of non-stop running, they came to a complete stop. Marcus collapse while catching his breath.
“Marcus, come over here, take a look at this tree” (Woodcutter Alex)
Walking over, he began examining the tree.
[ping]
Identified: Red Cypress
New plant discovered: + 1 nature
“Red Cypress?” (Marcus)
“That’s right, when building a cabin, picking out the right tree is important. Make sure the thickness is the same, as well as it being straight. Here, take this axe and give it a try” (Woodcutter Alex)

Grabbing hold of the axe, Marcus made quick work of the tree. The 1 feet thick lumber fell down with a loud thump.

“Alright! So how many do we need?” (Marcus)
“Hm, about 100 more should do” (Woodcutter Alex)
“...” (Marcus)
“Get cracking boy! Hahaha!” (Woodcutter Alex)
Marcus soon learn that cutting down trees was the easy part, however bringing them back to his farm is something else. After returning to his farm with the help of Alex and some carts....
“Ahhh! Finally I’m back!” (Marcus)
Stretching his body, Marcus gaze over his farm. To his left, an abundant assortments of crops, to his right, 117 logs of wood. Marcus had been away from his farm for 13 days; all his crops were ready to be harvested and delivered. While walking over to his cabbage patch...
“Huh? What’s this...” (Marcus)
[cricket-cricket]
“...” (Marcus)
Bugs! Bugs all over my cabbage! Wait, the tomatoes too! Whoa, EVEN THE POTATOES! Nooooooo!
Marcus prize garden had crumbled with an infestation of colossal proportion. Everything was riddled with holes. His soul was shaken to the core. He dropped to his knees while tears flowed down his cheeks.
“Long time no see sonny! What’s the matter?” (Jeremy)
*sniff, sniff*
“Je-Je-Jeremy... my plants... my plants...” (Marcus)
Taking a closer look, Jeremy figured out why the boy was so distressed.
“Hm, something like this can’t be salvage... looks like you need to go buy some pesticide” (Jeremy)
“W-where ca-can I get some?” (Marcus)
“Stop by Agatha potion shop, she’s in the 12th district, west of the Academia” (Jeremy)
Slowly getting to his feet, Marcus began walking towards the city, pausing for a moment to give his thanks...
“No problem sonny, tell’er Jeremy sent you!” (Jeremy)

[jingle]
The door chimes jingled as Marcus sets foot inside ‘Magarium’s Magic and Potions’. Agatha Magarium was a renown professor at the Academia of Fine Arts. She taught for 33 years before retiring at the age of 55. Blessed with an abundance of money and knowledge, she opened up her own shop just down the street of her former school.
“Ah- Hello, I’m looking for Agatha…” (Marcus)
“Speaking.” (Agatha)
Her words were sharp, and her glare was imposing.
Gah! She’s just like Oka-sensei!
Nervous, Marcus legs were trembling as he muster the last bit of courage to speak up.
“I-I need help!” (Marcus)
Agatha stood up from her chair and faced Marcus; even though she was much shorter than Marcus, her presences was oppressive. Marcus felt like he was suffocating underwater...
“Hm, what did you do child, to warrant such a strong curse?” (Agatha)
“... huh?” (Marcus)
“Hm, a curse to invoke hatred? Child, it would be best to seek help from the high priest than this little old lady” (Agatha)
“W-wait, I’m not here about a curse, I need help with my plants!” (Marcus)
“Plants? For plants to take up more precedence than your curse, tell me what’s the matter” (Agatha)
“I need pes-pesticides.” (Marcus)
“Hmm...” (Agatha)
The old lady stared deep into Marcus's soul, as if she could read his mind. She then took out a pen and paper and quickly scribble out some instructions.
“Here. This is instruction on how to create a low grade pesticide. I don’t have the ingredients to make it, so you’ll have to do it on your own” (Agatha)
“Thanks... um...” (Marcus)
“No need for payment child, just tell Jeremy I said hi” (Agatha)
“T-thank you!” (Marcus)
Holding up the slip towards the light, Marcus quickly skimmed through the instruction.
Ginger root... mandrake... vile berries... and frellow sap...
Tilting his head, Marcus asked,
“Where can I find these ingredients?” (Marcus)
“Most of what you need could be found in the Derlin forest, south of Hansbridge. Ginger can be found in the wild almost everywhere” (Agatha)
“Hansbridge?” (Marcus)
“10 days due east, just follow the merchant path, you can’t get lost” (Agatha)
10 DAYS?!
“Isn't there someplace I can buy it in Rohan?” (Marcus)
“Hah! Do plants or swords catch the eye of an adventurer?” (Agatha)
“Huh? Why are you asking that?” (Marcus)
“Tsk, you’re not clever are you child?” (Agatha)
“...” (Marcus)
“Alright then, go on child! What are you waiting for?” (Agatha)
Oh cruel world, why must you torture me?
Marcus decides the put the pesticide on hold. He already had something planned and he needed to finish it soon...
“Sigh... this day keeps getting better and better...” (Marcus)
