As I laid in my bed I couldn’t stop thinking about my classmates who were still in the human kingdom, I knew I would have to fight them, but what would I do if I faced them now? I had gotten stronger but not nearly as strong as they were in the beginning, and if they learned how to absorb power from living beings then they would be unstoppable.
* “You think we don’t stand a chance, don’t you?” Jin said while sitting at the side of his bed
* “How can I? That giant was so strong and we could barely beat it.” I said as I sat up
* “But we DID beat it.”
* “Yeah, but humans are just born strong, we have to work our butts off just to stand a chance.”
* “But we can grow stronger than them, we have each other like Lupus said, as long as we stay together we can grow stronger.” Jin said as he tried to give me a fist bump
* “Yeah, you're right, but to enter our full power without each other you need to increase your magic reserves at least ten times over if you're gonna use it for an hour.” I said as I gave him a fistbump
* “Same goes for you!” He shouted as he laid down
* “I know.” I said as I went to sleep
As I woke up the next day I felt weird. I left Jin’s room and sat down at the dinner table but couldn’t help but notice that everyone was looking at me and Jin.
* “What’s wrong?” I asked as I took a piece of bread
* “Yeah, you’ve been staring at us all morning.” Jin said as he started to eat breakfast
* “You don’t see anything wrong with each other?” Lexia asked who was staring at me
* “No, not particularly.” I said as I looked to Jin. “What about you Jin, do I look weird?”
* “You’re hairs a mess but not anything out of the ordinary.” He answered as he shoved a triple bread sandwich in his mouth
* “Your magic power is seeping out.” Lupus said as he slapped me in the face with his paw
* “Ohh, is that what you were freaking out about?” I asked
* “Now that you mention it he is surrounded by weird black and white sparks.” Jin said
* “And you're covered in green gas, but I just thought it was your bad smell.” I said as I contained my magic and kept eating
* “Hey! I don’t smell bad!” Jin shouted at me while containing his own magic
* "Yes, you do.” I said as I stood up to change into clothes more suited for training
* “Shut up you bed head!” Jin shouted as he raced after me into his room
* “Training starts in five minutes so get ready.” Dryadalis said as we closed the door
Five minutes later we were in a field just outside the house and I was in my disguise.
* “Why are we here and not in the backyard?” I asked as I was adjusting my gear
* “Because we’re not gonna hold back as much as you think.” Dryadalis said
* “Excuse me?” Jin said in surprise
* “I will be fighting using enough power to make you want to die.” Dryadalis said
* “And you cannot fight together with that thread thing you got either.” Lupus said while slowly growing in size until he was the size of an average wolf
* “I didn’t know you could get bigger.” I said as I pulled out my sword and got ready
* “And you can only use your own power, not the power of nature or the power of your opponent.” Lupus said
* “We will get drained immediately!” Jin shouted
* “That’s the point son!” Dryadalis said in a loud calm voice as he charged at Jin
* “You're fighting me!” Lupus roared as he jumped toward me
As Lupus jumped at me I thought it would be just like fighting an ordinary wolf, but Lupus was smarter, quicker, and stronger than an ordinary wolf, not to mention he was able to use magic.
* “I recommend that you come at us with the intention to kill!” Lupus said as he was trying to bite me
* “But I don’t want to kill you!” I shouted at him as I blocked his attack
* “Ha! You think you can hurt us!?” Dryadalis laughed as he was fending of Jin’s sword barehanded
* “Fine! I’ll go all out!” I shouted as I jumped back from Lupus and focused my magic
* “Me too!” Jin shouted as he too jumped back
I used dark and thunder magic to enhance my strength while still staying conscious. After the two months in the forest I should be able to use it for at least eight hours if I don’t heighten my senses. Jin was engulfed in green flames, not too dissimilar to the green gas that was around him in the morning. After powering up we launched at our enemies, but just before we could hit the opponents switched, but before I could say anything Dryadalis went on the offensive sword in hand.
I was forced to heighten my senses to be able to know where he would strike from, but his incredible speed made it nearly impossible to block, and so the day continued, us getting pummeled and then going home not eating anything, just sleeping.
On the next day we went immediately out to where we were yesterday, and the training started immediately, I tried to put up a fight with the knowledge from yesterday but I was still drained from training so I was running on fumes the whole day trying not to pass out, and so it continued, us getting pummeled and then going home to sleep just for the same thing to happen again.
But on the tenth day, I didn’t sleep, instead I sat on the floor of the room absorbing magic trying to use it to replenish my own magic, and during the training the next day I was back to the amount of magic I was at on the first day, but I still felt like I could fill the bag with more magic, but during that days training I still couldn’t put up a fight, it seemed as though I was getting pummeled harder then before, but I continued with this strategy until one month had passed and I still couldn’t land a blow, but Jin still couldn’t restore his magic no matter how hard he tried, so when we were in his room and I sat and meditated he asked me a question.

* “How do you replenish your magic?” He asked while sitting on the floor in front of me
* “I absorb nature magic from the nearby plants and use that to satiate my hunger so my magic can replenish.” I answered as I opened my eyes
* “But I can’t do that.” He said as he stretched
* “Then why not take the nature magic out of me as I absorb it?” I said as a joke
* “You know, that may actually work.” He said taking me seriously
And so the training started paying off more, while sparring we used our own magic, but at night we used the magic I absorbed from the plants to give our bodies energy.
* “It seems you have learned how to replenish your magic.” Lupus said after two months of training
* “But can you keep it up if we go full power?” Dryadalis asked as he and Lupus jumped back
* “From this day until the training is over it’s a non-stop battle!” They both shouted as both of them started to glow, Dryadalis in green, and Lupus in black
* “I think we should leave the city for this!” I shouted
* “Good idea!” Lupus said as we were teleported outside
* “This will be a no rules two against two seventh month long battle!” Dryadalis shouted as they rushed at us
* “Even so! We should only use our own strength to fight!” I shouted to Jin
* “I agree! But we should still use the nature magic in the area to stay fed!” Jin replied as he pulled out his sword
* “Agreed!” I shouted as I rushed to Jin and placed a thread on his back that made sure he got enough nature magic from me to not die
As the battle started I knew I had to save as much magic as possible, so I only used enough magic so that my body could still fill up the source even though it was extremely slow. Lupus rushed at me with a barrage of attacks, I deflected and counter-attacked, but the damage I was inflicting was being healed by his magic, and I was forced to use more magic than I wanted to. I needed to cripple him for long enough that I could go talk to Jin. I cut off a decent chunk of his front left leg and a cut in his back leg before I enhanced my speed as much as I could before appearing next to Jin and pulling him a decent distance from the other two.
* “I can’t keep fighting like this forever.” I said as I deactivated all the magic I was currently using
* “Same, it’s only been two days but I’m already running out of magic.” He said as he got ready for round two
* “For the rest of this month let’s only use the magic of those two and the forest.” I said as I activated my nature mode as I called it
* “Only until our magic is back.” He said as he switched targets to Lupus
* “I’ll take on Dryadalis!” I shouted as I charged at the elf chef
The battle continued and I could feel Lupus magic flowing into me from Jin, but I also felt the nature magic in the area depleting. I realised that after this month we would have to switch area to do this again. I used the dark magic that was flowing to me from Jin to make an attack that would hold back Dryadalis while I changed form from pure nature magic to a half-and-half kinda form, my body was surrounded in the same green glow but my blood vessels were black and my eyes turned black with only a blood red iris that signified that I was still in control, as the attack disappeared I launched at Dryadalis with a slash filled with all the strength I had, but to my shock, I saw him block it with a single finger.
* “Disappointing.” Was the only thing he said before blasting me away
As I tried to get up I noticed that he was surrounded in the same green cloak that I had, but when he wore it he seemed to be a hundred times more powerful than before, I tried to get up but was hit by Jin who was also blasted away, I turned to look at Lupus but saw him covered in black steel.
* “It seems they can do the same things that we can.” I said as I stood up
* “Yeah, but much stronger.” Jin said as he also stood up
* “But my magic is back, so I won’t hold back anymore!” I shouted as I was covered in the same black cloak as during the test the only difference was that this time, I had enough magic left to maintain it for a long time since I had nature's magic and the magic that Jin stole from Lupus including my own which had increased
* “Same here!” Jin shouted as he used the same armor as before
* “I’m giving you all the magic I borrowed and I’ll cut the line, so we’re on our own now.” I said as all the magic I borrowed returned to Jin
* “All right.” He said as he attacked Dryadalis
I launched at Lupus for the second time, but this time I knew that he was serious and that I couldn’t hold back even a little even if I ran out before the six months were over, I used my sword and filled it with light and dark magic, but it seemed as though he grew stronger from it, I tried to think back to when we fought the two pieces of the giant during the test and how they did it, but no matter what I tried nothing worked, and after another month and a half of fighting I ran out of magic and was starting to near my limit and pass out, but before that, I let the nature magic take over, I let nature guide me as I tried my hardest to stay awake, my body started to move on it’s own, dodging on it’s own, even manipulating my magic on it’s own, but after I let this go on for a while the nature magic became unstable, so I took back control and let the nature magic return to its original host, but I used the magic I had left to keep Lupus in place as I manipulated the grass to do as I wanted while I punched Lupus with my own pure strength which was nothing to scoff at.
This kept going for days, maybe even weeks, after a while I lost track of time, and after what felt like years the grass was holding down Lupus without me needing to do anything, but I was getting tired and I decided that the only way to really grow stronger was to let my magic run wild, and see how far my strength can push Lupus, and I felt like Jin was thinking the same thing, and so when there was exactly one month left of the battle me and Jin got back to back and I made both our magic powers run wild by manipulating my dark magic to enter him for long enough that he would feel the side effects, and after that we switched opponents for one last time and ran wild. As I went berserk my magic over flowed and the dark magic made the black cloak reappear with a new ferocity that did not exist any of the other times that I used it, and all of the nature magic in the area came to me willingly and strengthened the cloak further, after what felt like no time at all, the month was over and I passed out because I had overused my magic, and the same went for Jin.
