As we ate dinner we questioned Dryadalis and Uxor about the two month stay in the forest.

* “Yes I have decided that for the final test of stage two, you will need to survive in that forest for two month’s.” Dryadalis said

* “After that I will begin to personally help you grow your magic reserves.” Lupus said

* “And what happens if we fail?” I asked

* “You have to survive for two months, if you don’t survive you die.” Dryadalis answered

* “All right, so all we have to do is not die for two months, easy enough.” I said

* “It won’t be as easy as you think, you will be in a forest much more deadly than the one you were in before.” Lupus said. “And don’t even think about hiding for two months if you ever hope of killing the humans god, Loki.”

* “And you want to grow stronger to get revenge on the humans, right, Sōzokujin?” Dryadalis asked

* “Yeah, we know!” We said answering at the same time

The next day we ate breakfast and walked to the outskirts of a forest, and just by being near it I could feel the difference in power between the monsters in this forest and the other one.

* “Is this it?” I asked Lupus

* “Yep good luck kids.” He said before we were transported into the forest.

* “Loki, could you form a light blade? It’s pitch black in here.” Jin asked

* “Sure, no problem.” I said as a sword of light appeared in my hand. “Save your mana until we find a monster.”

* “Good idea, we need to gauge how strong our opponents are before we show our strength.” Jin said as we started walking inside the forest

As we were walking I saw an open plain to the left of us.

* “Hey, Jin! Let’s go over there and rest.” I said as I put away the magic sword

* “Good idea.” He said as he followed me

* “How long do you think we were walking for?” I asked as I sat down

* “We left in the morning and it’s already past noon, so probably a few hours.” He said as he laid down on the ground to rest

* “Yeah, probably.” I said while looking around for something

* “What is it?” Jin asked

* “I feel darkness.” I said as I stood back up

* “Like the magic element!?” He asked as he jumped to his feet

* “Yes, but not quite.”

* “What do you mean not quite?”

* “Well the dark element is usually dormant unless you force it out, but this feels like it’s on a rampage.”

* “Maybe it’s just feeling the same side effects you are when you use the dark element.”

* “Let’s hope not, cause it’s heading right for us!” I said as I activated a light fire magic sword and got on the defensive

* “Get ready!" Jin said as he activated his fire and earth blade

We both got ready waiting for what was coming, I blinked once and an elf like being with pure green eyes appeared before me, I barely managed to block it’s attack but I noticed that the same happened to Sōzokujin but by a human with completely black eyes, before I could ask Jin anything the elf was already in my face again trying to attack. I started to use Nature magic to increase my perception of what was going on, but my enemy felt like pure nature magic and Jin’s enemy felt like pure dark magic, but I couldn’t think about it since the elf wasn’t letting up it’s attacks, I replaced the fire magic in my sword with dark magic to make the strongest sword I could even though I know only could use Nature and fire magic to strengthen my body, I launched at the elf as I switched from a defensive strategy to an offensive one but before my sword could reach him he jumped and kicked me towards the woods, I stuck my foot in the ground to spin and use the momentum from the kick to launch at him again, I swung my sword at him and blocked his counter attacks, but no matter how much I pushed my magic power I couldn’t push him back. As my magic started to run out I deactivated all the magic I was currently using except Nature, I placed my hand on the ground and tried to borrow power from it, but the magic I could take couldn’t change form from Nature to anything else, so I had to try something that didn’t work during training, I tried to replace the dark magic I used to gain incredible strength with in exchange for my sanity with nature magic in hope of a similar result, and just before the elf could cut my neck, I felt a similar feeling as what I was hoping for inside my body, I guided the borrowed power with the help of the magic that I had left in the form of fire magic. As the feeling of power spread through my entire body in the blink of an eye it seemed as if the elf’s attack stopped, but when I looked to Jin he was still fighting, I looked at my hand and noticed that it and the rest of my body was engulfed in a green light I punched the elf in the chest with all my strength and it turned to leafs that blew away.

* “Hey Jin! Try to borrow power from the earth!” I shouted but as I talked it seemed as if my voice was stopped by a barrier, I walked to it and punched it but it didn’t budge. “It seems we’re on our own.”

I looked up and noticed that the sun was rising as if we had been fighting for almost an entire day. I turned around as I sensed another enemy, it seemed as if we were gonna be here for a while, this time it was a giant being composed of dark magic.

Sōzokujin’s perspektiv: (Fight one and two)

As I fought I got more tired as the fighting continued, I looked over at Loki’s battle and noticed he was punching the elf he was fighting while surrounded in a green flame, I shifted my attention back to my enemy I realised Loki was replenishing his magic by taking it from somewhere else, I lowered the amount of magic I was pouring into the sword while still trying to have it maintain the same shape, this time as I struck the human the blade turned a bit darker and more powerful and my magic reserves were filled with dark magic, I took this magic and tried to do the same thing that Loki did when he went berserk, but instead of using dark and fire magic I used dark and earth, this resulted in an armor like shell to appear around my body and as the human struck me I felt pain but not nearly as much as before, plus the armor was taking magic from the enemy to repair itself which also made my sword stronger, I swung my sword and cleanly cut of the humans head and steal all of the magic it had. I turned around to help Loki with his new opponent but was stopped by a beam of light that I just barely dodged. I looked up to see a winged humanoid made completely out of white light.

I tried to use the dark magic I had stolen to make wings and close the distance, but no matter how much magic I poured in the wings wouldn’t appear, I even tried to use fire magic with the dark magic but that didn’t even work and just drained my magic. I had to take the light magic the angel like being had to fuel me since I had wasted too much dark magic trying to make wings, I poured nature magic into my legs and leaped toward the angel, I only managed to slice a little bit of her hair, but that was more than enough magic to try and make wings out of, but for some reason, instead of listening to me the magic replaced the magic in my sword and made it consist of only dark and light magic, but the dark magic would run out in another ten minutes so I couldn’t waste time on this fight, I jumped again slicing the angel hundreds of times trying to sever its wings, and as I landed I felt something on my back and I heard something fall to the ground behind me, I looked back to see the angel turning to dust on the ground and wings sprouted from my back, I decided to save the dark magic I had left until another enemy with dark magic came so I could replenish it, I looked to Loki and saw him still fighting and I also noticed it was around seven in the morning. I turned around and saw a wolf the size of a house with glowing green eyes.

Loki’s perspektiv: (Fight two and three)

As I was fighting the giant, I looked back for a moment and saw Jin standing over a pile of white dust in a black armour without a helmet, holding a sword made out of white and black magic, and had white wings out of his back, but then the next moment the giant smashed me into the ground, I rolled over to dodge it’s next attack, but I had to find a way to fight without running out of magic, I decided to let the nature magic do as it wanted without guiding it with my own magic, as my magic replenished, I felt the nature magic go wild inside my body, trying to connect to nature and get more magic to help my body grow stronger, as this happened the green glow around me intensified it shifted from just surrounding me into actually fusing with my magic, it felt as though what nature was feeling I was feeling too. I saw myself fighting the giant from the view of every tree, every piece of grass and all the leaves that was flying through the air, the nature magic was like an extension of myself, as if it was just an extra arm, as I looked into my own eyes through one of the leaves that was flying in front of me, when I saw my own eyes it was as if you could see all of nature in them, I narrowed down my view to only the things that saw the giant, I dodged an attack that came from behind me and threw a pole made out of pure nature magic at the giant, I poured all the nature magic I had into a single attack and punched the giants head making trees explode out of its neck, as the giant fell it turned into birds that flew into the forest. I knew a new enemy would soon appear so I absorbed as much magic as I could from the trees and plants as I could without hurting them. Since I was connected to the forest I felt all the pain it felt, and as I completed the absorption of magic I felt something coming towards me, I jumped into the air.

As I landed I saw a little white fairy that had its arm outstretched as if it had just tried to shot me, but since it was made out of pure magic I realised that it was the next enemy, but as I tried to attack it with nature magic the magic just left my body, I fell to the ground after the pain of having nearly all the magic in my body sucked out, as I stood back up, I knew that the only way I could win now was to use the berserk mode by letting the dark magic run wild, but I also tried to stay conscious so I could stop it immediately after the test was over by having a bit of my magic be light since it seemingly negated all other magic as long as it didn’t try to steal it, as the dark magic spread I focused on staying somewhat in control while still keeping some of my magic in reserve so I could consciously restore it while still fighting, as my body went berserk I formed swords for the monster I had become to use as it saw fit, but even with the incredibly powerful attacks of the berserk mode that dark fire magic causes I couldn’t hit the fairy. I tried to grab it by getting my consciousness back from the dark magic, I forcefully took nature magic from the forest and mixed it with dark and light magic and poured it into one massive unstable attack that the fairy couldn’t dodge, I threw it and as the attack connected it immediately exploded launching me into a nearby tree, right before I fell unconscious I absorbed nature magic and let the forest control my actions, putting all my faith into it while recovering my magic.

Sōzokujin’s perspektiv: (Fight three)

I tried to attack the wolf but none of my attacks absorbed magic, it was almost as if the nature magic was not letting the light magic touch it, I switched to fire and earth magic which managed to damage it but not absorb any magic, so I decided to just use my own strength without having anyone else's magic mixed in, I launched at the beast using the exact same moves that Loki used during the first time we were forced to survive, I kept slashing but the wolf kept regenerating the places that were cut, I tried to cut of one of the legs but right before I could the wolf slapped me away. I tried to do the same thing Loki did by stabbing the ground but this didn’t give me any magic power, it was almost as if the ground was taking my magic and giving it to the wolf, I tried all of the magic I could to try and hurt the beast, but nothing worked until I was using light magic and stabbed the sword into the ground to get up, this made the wolf scream in pain and fall to the ground, I walked to the wolf dragging the sword through the ground as I got closer, I took my sword of light and stabbed the wolf through the head.

The rest of these two months continued like this, one enemy appearing after the next not giving us any time to rest or even eat, this made us tire out almost twice as fast since had to give our body nutrition by using nature magic, for me this wasn't a problem since I just absorbed magic from the trees, but for Jin this made it hard for him to fight since he couldn’t use nature magic for anything other than keeping himself alive, but after we had survived for about fifty days, all the magic from the beings we had killed began collecting where the barrier was, we both got ready and as the being appeared it was a giant with the magic power of everyone we had killed in one monster.

* “Hey Loki! How much magic is in this thing!?” Jin asked as the armour he had before appeared equipped with the wings and all

* “I don’t know exactly but around sixty times bigger than mine before this test.” I said as I too powered up as much as I could

* “That strong huh?” Jin said as he got ready

* “Yeah, we have to work together!” I said as I absorbed more nature magic than I had the entire test combined

Now that the barrier was gone I could absorb magic from the entire forest, not only the area within the barrier, and for Jin he could fight without saving the power he took from the other enemies to use against the next, and as the battle went on he wouldn’t run out of magic since he could just take it. But as I tried to attack it seemed as if the nature magic retracted right before contact just as when I fought beings made out of light magic.

* “Jin! Can you target the light magic and take it from the giant?” I asked while avoiding an attack from the giant

* “Of course I can, but the thing isn’t letting me touch the light!” He answered as he avoided a punch by flying into the air

* “Could you give me your dark magic and I’ll give you my nature magic, I want to test something.” I asked as I stretched out a hand made out of nature magic

* “Sure! I’ll just replenish it so take it all!” He said as the armour around him turned green and his sword completely white, but his back and sword hand exposed but quickly got filled in with dark magic from the giant

As Jin was holding the giant of I was trying to control the dark magic he gave me, I took some nature magic and tried to let the dark magic and the light magic I myself created, follow, the light magic didn’t want to mix with the nature magic, so the dark magic took charge and made a cloak around me and made the source of the nature magic a big circle on my back and the source of the light magic a smaller circle on my chest right above my heart.
