Chapter 59: Battle Golem!

Chapter 59: Battle Golem!

A couple days after their run-in with the heroes, Caeldaemos’ family was on the road once more, headed to the west-northwest. They were on their way to the coastal town of Barnoo, a well-known and popular vacation destination, or that is what Rana had read.

Caledaemos was enjoying the weather with the windows down, driving the carriage with Liara hanging on his free arm.

“That was wonderful…” Liara fondly remembered their time of embracement.

“Even I have to admit, that might have been the closest all of you have come to defeating Daemos.” He joked, partially lying. Lord of Debauchery gave him an impossible level of stamina during such activities.

“Poor Orelia, she wasn’t able to see us off that morning.” Liara giggled.

“Yeah… She tried a tad bit too hard. Even with the pendant I prepared for her, it is still not enough.”

“Well, humans do have their limitations.” Liara looked ahead at a sign. “Looks like we are only a few hours out now.”

“Yup.” Caeldaemos smiled and began using Lord of Darkness to shift them great distances.

Liara laughed. “My, do you wish to see us in swimsuits that much?” She teased.

“Honestly, even in my old world, I never went to an ocean before. I had a chance at one point but got really sick and had to stay behind.” He admitted.

Liara looked at him in surprise. “Well, we shall make this as memorable as possible for you. There is another reason why I chose the location.”

“That is?”

“Another fragment might be near the location.”

“What?!” Caeldaemos shouted in surprise.

Liara giggled. “Yes, and it is one that we ladies should be able to enjoy.”

“Huh?”

He thought about what she could mean, and after a few minutes, it clicked in his mind.

“Eevicaln the Lustful…”

Liara laughed at his reaction. “The town of Barnoo is actually dedicated to the Demon-Lord’s lustfulness.”

“We’re bringing Lily and Geon!” He shouted.

She laughed once more. “It is not that bad, I think.” She muttered the last bit.

He eyed her with a side glance full of suspicion.

Caeldaemos stopped using Lord of Darkness. He was not feeling like seeing the ocean as much anymore.

“Welcome to the port city of Barnoo!” A cheerful guard welcomed them at the main gate.

Caeldaemos looked forward at the two massive, stone-carved, phallic objects that stood on either side of the gate like totems. He was not happy.

Liara looked away from him as his head slowly turned toward her, his eyes narrowing accusingly.

“I’m… sorry.” Liara slowly said.

Caeldaemos sighed heavily while turning to the cheery guard. “Sorry about that. Um, is this place appropriate for teenagers?”

The guard laughed heartily. “Of course it is! Well, just be sure they stay out of the Red-Light District of the southwest side of town. The area is walled off, and guards are stationed at the entrances. Everything else is tasteful, I assure you.”

Caeldaemos sighed once more and showed the guard his ID. The guard collected the standard toll and waved them inside.

They arrived at the hot spring resort they had set a reservation for and arrived at their large room. It had a central common room along with two bedrooms on either side.

“Harruuum,” Rana whined as she covered her eyes in embarrassment.

“It’s okay, Rana. I don’t blame you, though I am surprised. Normally you thoroughly check a place before choosing.” Caeldaemos chuckled.

“It’s just… I saw that we have a hot spring that we can share, and I wanted to share one with you….” Rana seemed even more down as she rattled off her excuse.

He smiled and petted her on the head.

Liara looked on jealously. “And here you judged me.”

“You tried to lie. Rana accepted her fault.” Caeldaemos teased.

Liara pouted.

Lily and Geon came out of their room in kimonos. “We want to explore the town!” They stated in unison.

“Then how about Liara take you.” Caeldaemos smiled.

If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“What? But-.”

He stopped her argument, his smile darkening.

“Okay…” She pouted.

After getting changed, Liara left with Lily and Geon.

“So, what shall the three of us do?” Listamati asked.

“Well, Lia did say that a fragment was here. I can kind of feel it to the north of here. Perhaps I should get this knocked out as quickly as possible so we can enjoy our time together?” Caeldaemos said.

“That sounds good to me. Let’s go.” Rana stood up, wanting to get her mind off of her mistake.

Caeldaemos chuckled as he stood.

The three got ready and messaged the three explorers where they would be going.

After flying for thirty minutes at a casual pace, they arrived at the Forest of Lust, as the locals called it.

“What is it with Demon-Lords and forests?” Caeldaemos asked at the edge of the forest.

“Not all of them are like this. There are the Plague Lands far to the southeast.” Listamati answered.

“Plague Lands? The Pestilence Demon-Lord?” He asked.

“Correct. The area is a toxic swamp filled to the brim with perilous monsters and plants. It used to be a great kingdom before the Demon-Lord leveled it.” Rana replied.

Caeldaemos shivered. That would be one fragment he might do without. His Lord of Pestilence made him immune to all diseases and poisons, but it still creeped him out.

“So, what’s up with the forest here?” He asked.

“Legend has it that if you are having trouble having a child, coming here guarantees fertility,” Rana answered.

“Is that true?”

“Nope. But people still believe it.” Rana giggled.

“One true thing is that if you enter the ruins, you will be overcome with lust and go after the nearest living thing. Be it another person or monster…” Listamati shivered in disgust.

“Ew,” Caeldaemos commented with a frown.

They passed a handful of nicely built shacks. Some of them were clearly occupied with the sounds they heard as they passed.

A guard stopped them, though. “Where are you three going?” She asked.

“We heard there might be a monster prowling around the ruins. We were asked to check it out.” Listamati replied.

Before they left town, they checked out the local mercenary guild office and found a job.

“Ah, just be warned, do not enter the ruins. You will lose yourself if you do.” The guard warned.

They thanked the guard and continued their way.

About an hour later, they arrived at the ruins. Caeldaemos thought it looked like a large palace you would see in a desert in his old world.

“A moment Cael.” Rana deployed some of the golems she had been working on.

The mice golems were great for stealthy scouting, with the new ones she brought out being the fastest.

Thirty cat-like golems stood at the ready. Each one was made from a lightweight, hollow metal with padding on the paws. Each was painted to make them look like a typical cat from a distance, but closer inspection would reveal what they were.

After giving her orders, the golem-cats quickly deployed into the ruins.

“Too bad the bird ones didn’t work out.” Listamati patted her friend’s shoulder.

“Yeah. I am still researching for the proper material to do that. Most everything is too heavy.” Rana laughed.

Caeldaemos pulled her into a side hug. “I know you will succeed.” He assured her.

Rana’s Go-Link went off. “Ah, they found the monster.”

She brought up a video feed of the beast. It was a massive wolf-like creature with wild eyes, drooling at the mouth as it fornicated with a giant gorilla-like monster.

“Ew,” Caeldaemos commented.

“Oh, dear…” Rana commented. “Let’s get this over with.”

Caeldaemos nodded and covered them in domain barriers.

After several steps into the ruins, both Rana and Listamati began panting. Turning to check on them, he saw they were being affected. He quickly picked them up and carried them out of the ruins before it could take full effect.

Both women were heavily panting with their faces flushed.

“Sorry, Cael.” Listamati panted. “It must have affected... before you covered us...”

“I… I can’t…” Rana barely spoke.

“Don’t worry. You two remain here. I’ll take care of it.” Caeldaemos stepped away from them and covered them with a protective domain that hid them from sight.

“W-Wait. Golems… are… unaffected. Let me, ngh, send Giiwo with you.” Rana brought out the improved Giiwo.

Giiwo looked like an elven woman with a flat expression. Her body was made of steel covered in dragon-scale armor from the neck down. Lily wanted to give the golem a more alive look and did up a face and hair with Sophia’s assistance. Giiwo’s green golem-core eyes looked vacant since she was offline.

Rana used her mana and activated the golem.

Giiwo’s eyes came alive, and she looked down at Rana.

“Good afternoon, master.” Giiwo greeted Rana, speaking through mana with a feminine voice. Giiwo was the first golem Rana applied an artificial soul. For months, they had been teaching Giiwo many things, and she was nearly no different than a person while being 100% loyal to Rana.

“How much work have you been doing?” Caeldaemos asked in surprise.

“Giiwo, please work with Cael to defeat the monsters. Stay with him and… support him.” Rana ordered.

“Understood. Entering Battle-Mode.” Giiwo expertly unsheathed her dual, thin scimitars.

Caeldaemos chuckled. “I’m looking forward to this.”

The pair headed into the ruins to complete their job and find the fragment.

It did not take them long to get to the horny beasts. They were still at it, just their roles were now reversed.

Giiwo’s head perked up. “My lord.”

“Yes?”

“Master Rana wishes for me to test myself against them. Do I have permission?”

“Have at it.” Caeldaemos was excited to see what the golem was capable of.

A helmet that was split into different pieces flipped up from the back of her neck and covered her head and face. Only the glow of her green eyes could be seen.

Giiwo jumped impossibly high from their cover and landed before the beasts.

“You both shall fall to my blades. My master demands it.” Giiwo taunted.

The two beasts stopped what they were doing and lunged at her, not with the intention to rip her apart but to have her join in.

Giiwo easily dodged the two beasts.

“You shall be first.” Giiwo spun like a top of death, her blades straight out to her sides.

She quickly sliced the wolf’s side, its guts falling out to the ground. It howled in ecstasy.

“My master finds you disgusting. I shall end you.” Giiwo leaped into the air and spun toward the wolf’s neck at impossible speeds, removing its head.

The gorilla managed to grab Giiwo and lifted her toward its body.

“My master does not wish for me to be sullied by you. Your hand shall be the cost. Then your life.” Giiwo stuck her arms toward the gorilla’s arm and spun her blades at her wrists. A moment later, both her and the gorilla’s hand fell free.

“Damn, Rana! I’m impressed!” Caeldaemos commented.

Giiwo jumped back and used a wall to spring off. She cracked the wall as she rocketed forward, her blades at the ready.

Flying past the gorilla’s shoulder, Giiwo landed behind it, her twin scimitar bloodied.

The gorilla’s head rolled off its body, slamming to the ground with its corpse.

Caeldaemos came out from the place he was watching from and approached Giiwo.

Not wanting the two corpses, he erased them with white fire.

“My lord. My master wishes to know your assessment.” Giiwo said.

“Awesome. You are awesome, Giiwo. I am sure I might have trouble facing you.” Caeldaemos replied.

Giiwo stood still for a moment. “My master is quite happy with your answer. She promises to show you a good time later.”

“What?”

“Correction. Please forget what I had said. My master begs of you.”

Caeldaemos laughed and turned toward the ruins.

“My master is desperate that you forget what I said.”

“Fine! Hah, hah, hah! I forget!” Caeldaemos bent over in laughter.

Giiwo fell silent as they continued into the ruins. Caeldaemos was sure that Rana demanded that Giiwo stop talking for a bit.
