Chapter 4

Chapter 4

It has been two weeks since I started to live here in Hollow Creek and I was at the gym this morning. All sweaty from my workouts I've gotten used to them over the weeks I've been here. Shay drove up wearing her workout clothes and I hopped in and we drove off. I thought she would drive me home so I could shower, but instead, we were driving somewhere else little ways outside of town. I recognized it as the pet graveyard, so when we stopped outside, I was confused.

"Okay this is surely not date-time after a big workout, so why?" I said smirking.

"Silva wants me to help you work on energy soul transference" and I laugh a bit.

"so he couldn't tell me before I left for the gym?" I smile at her and kiss her.

"Well, that was weird Thank you for the trouble," Shay says as we get out of the car.

We enter the graveyard a bit in silence as I felt something off around us, it was not ghost energy. It was something human, I couldn't get a word out before I saw Don uncrouch from behind some vines behind the brick wall. I didn't know what I was really seeing, no way is he here and he held up his hand. I started feeling sick and dizzy, then I hear a haunting sound of a gunshot. I blink and my mind cleared as we arrived at the Graveyard and looked around seeing we were sitting on the ground.

My heart was beating a thousand miles and Shay was holding me close trying to calm me down. I looked around for my old dad figure Don and didn't see him, I felt so much fear at that moment. Shay looked at me worry all over her facial expression, I try to smile to calm her and it probably looked more like a grim-looking smile.

"Are you okay? I wasn't sure what you might have seen" Shay said.

"I thought I saw Don, he was right over there," I said pointing at the vined wall.

"There is no one there, are you sure you saw him here? He ran away from here" Shay tries making me believe it.

I started to feel upset, but something else sunk in and I looked down at my torso. I began to see a blood hole forming in my stomach and I coughed blood came out on my hand. I started to really cry then and looked at Shay's tear-stained face, but I try to stand up. Shay tried stopping me but I was determined and calmed my mind, ignoring the pain. I hold out my hands to beacon the souls of the dead and let my eyes see where Don went.

I see him through a dog's eyes and see him on the way to the next town going north in some Ford Truck. Then I went back to seeing the world through my eyes and breathing heavily. I collapse to the ground and it started to rain on us, I told her where to search for Don. Then I closed my eyes and felt my body being moved, then everything went blank in my mind. The next thing I know I'm somewhere bright white, I look around near my lap to my stomach.

There is no blood but I'm in a hospital gown and I see no one around me. So I tried to get out of bed and collapse to the floor, which hurt my body. I guess it woke someone up because dad and Shay came in quickly. I felt all the pain rush through me, so they help me back to the bed with concern plastered on their faces.

"I'm alright, just sore everywhere," I say sarcastically and serious a bit more than I want to show.

"It is fine, but we lost Don on the way to save you," Shay says.
