Arc 2: The Worthless Wicked Demon - Ch: 1

Where am I…?

Everything was endless… an endless blue sea. A young man was seen floating in the middle of it. His feet never made contact with the waves, yet it felt like he could feel every single current and wave that brushed past him.

This was a beautiful moment. A lovely time for him. However, things felt very grim. He lowered his head as he felt pain. What he saw below was a reflection of…

He didn’t know what he was staring at. He couldn’t even recognize the other person staring back at him. Within the waters, he saw his face. It was a mangled collection, pieces of other faces surgically attached to his own.

Upon seeing how disfigured he was all he could do was laugh. He laughed it all away.

“GYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

He wanted to scream, break down, and lose himself to the madness. But, he wasn’t allowed to. Another entity appeared before him, floating in the middle with him as she stared at him.

“Don’t forget… your promise.”

The young girl with black hair stared fiercely at him. Her eyes were pale and lifeless.

“I… won’t forget Setsuna.”

Soon appearing behind her were other young kids. Soon the ocean filled with bodies. Some were alive and others were lying without motion.

The whispers they made… it was flooding his mind.

Kill…

Kill…

Kill…

Kill…

Destroy…

Destroy…

Destroy…

Destroy…

Right… that was why he couldn’t lose himself. This was why he had to destroy. Why he would continue to destroy? Because he wasn’t just a mindless killer. No, his purpose was much more than that.

I forgot who I was. I forgot everything. The only thing that I must do is destroy.

Who am I…? Who I was…? It doesn’t matter.

I’m Abaddon.

“Remember!!”

A familiar, yet distant voice echoed out from the seas. Everything distorted once more. Abaddon was dragged underneath the waves and eventually, he found himself in an empty space of white.

He started to run as quickly as he could.

He didn’t know why, but he felt like there was something to catch. Someone to meet. Someone he had to see one more time.

It felt like he was running for ages until he finally found what he was searching so desperately for. It was himself. There was a young boy with pale skin, blue hair and blue eyes. They were so pure.

The boy looked at him and frowned instantly. His lips quivered and he uttered softly. “You’re a monster…”

The monster in question… seemed unphased. He reached a hand out to the boy who then cried out for help.

“Save me! Help!”

Once he grabbed the boy… everything changed again… he was now standing at a graveyard and standing over his grave.

“Caleb…”

“Took you long enough… have you forgotten what you must do? Demon of DESTRUCTION.”

The man’s voice was raspy… they had similar pale skin and he was dressed in a green cloak that hid most of his body.

Caleb then moved to sit down on his ally’s grave with a confident smirk as he stared dangerously at Abaddon.

“Remember who it is you serve. Remember who our god is. He has given you the gift of pride. The ability to do what it is you please.”

“...”

“Be proud of the monster you are. That is what it means to be a demon.”

Soon emerging from the ground were numerous skeletal hands that grabbed Abaddon’s lower body—gripping him tightly before pulling him beneath. He struggled for his life, but soon he was pulled into the void.

He was forced to gaze into the abyss and something stared back at him. Something entirely evil… there was no shred of light within this being. It was almost impossible to fathom how something could be so evil.

It wasn’t human.

Their gaze was entirely black. Eyes with absolutely no color to them. It struck fear into anyone’s hearts and the moment his name was spoken respect and understanding filled Abaddon’s body, mind, and soul.

“Belial.”

That was the name of a demon who demanded respect. If respect wasn’t given then it would mark the end of whoever denied this respect. For his own well-being, Abaddon instantly grew to respect this thing.

“Remember what your goal is.”

“...”

“Do you remember what you promised that girl? Your kin? You want to destroy that hellish place.”

“...”

“I will grant that wish. But, you will work to grant one of mine. Do you remember what that was?”

His hand trembled.

“A Red Zone…”

“I hate everything within this world. I despise it all. I want everything to die. Everything to perish and everyone to suffer. You will do as I command and I will grant you what you seek.”

“Destruction.”

“Humanity is a plague. A sickness that I must heal. Just like how I healed the Angels of their holy land.”

RIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG!! RIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNG!!

The reality was setting in. Abaddon was now waking up to the real world. He was groggy from being awoken by his cell phone. He was lying on the cold floor and sat up to grab his phone from his pants pocket before answering and placing the device to his ear.

“Did you get her?”

“She was on the verge of death. I have Abigail under my control.”

“Good. It’s time to create the Red Zone.”

“Which part of the city do you want? Rockville? Gaithersburg? Maybe that shitty ass Germantown?”

“All of it.”

There was silence…

“You’re joking…”

“All of Maryland will be my Red Zone.”

“The humans will kick up a war before they allow that…”

“This has always been a war. Nothing has changed. Are you growing soft?”

“Never! I won’t back down… not until I destroy it all.”

“Then meet up at the usual spot.”
