Chapter #32 Stars of hell #5

(Peter Lawray point of view)

My time to shine.

I had no intention of getting drunk tonight. Rather, I aim to demonstrate the prowess of a former GuildMaster.

My body was enveloped in a wild yellow aura, and my eyes brightened to the extent that you might say I resembled a flashlight.

My position aligned me directly with the camp. If their security is as lax as it seems, I shouldn't have to exert much effort.

With a powerful surge, I dashed toward the camp at the speed of lightning. "Hahaha!" I laughed as I approached the first group of guards.

Unfortunately, whoever it was who received my clothesline of hell. Has my sympathy for being the first to die.

"We're being raided!" one of the guards shouted. In the midst of the chaos, he grabbed an assault rifle and began to open fire.

I moved effectively, taking out the seven gunmen, thereby dismantling their ranged support.

Seconds later, three fireballs were hurled in my direction, but I wasn't in the mood to get burned today, so I switched places with the trio of Gifted.

Then boom, agonizing screams followed by a wildfire that was going to occur.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

Nine more to go.

"YOU ARE DEAD—" declared a guard, brandishing a long sword as he attempted to slash me, but I had detected his presence from a mile away.

In response, I jam my fist through his chest with a flash strike, "Silence is the second most vital skill a hunter acquires. A predator reveals its presence only when it is certain of completing the hunt." I withdrew my fist and watched him collapse at my feet.

"Are we too confident, then?" Behind me stood two young hunters whom I had seen on the news several times.

Dallas and Jacob, the earth warriors.

I chuckled softly and remarked, "No, merely foolish. But that's what I anticipated from a generation of hunters who treat this as a game rather than a commitment."

I recall that in the past, hunting was a common practice, either as a means of protecting others or out of financial necessity.

Now look, they glorified hunting to these young minds that it's fun and exciting. When really, it just another form of suicide.

As I neared the young pair, three guards materialized seemingly from thin air. "You are surrounded. I suggest—" Before they could react, I executed a swift flash strike, thrusting my fist through his torso.

"If you were wise, you wouldn't launch an all-out attack." I blitzed towards the others, executing my signature move. Driving my fist through their chest.

The advantage of being able to move and transform your body into lightning. Is the sheet amount of speed and power associated with it.

Already in a few seconds, it was just me and the two young hunters.

Both seemly fearful of moving.

"Since I'm feeling generous, I will grant you both the opportunity to confront a hunter who will decide if you are worthy of being acknowledged as Hunters," I declared, my body enveloped in a bright yellow aura as I amassed more power.

The excitement in my grin was invisible to them...till two-gun shots ruined everything.

The two boys slowly dropped to ground as the bleed leaked from their head.

I spun towards the shooter's direction, and there was Ruby, standing beside a tent, waving. "It's not so fun when it happens to you, is it?" she remarked.

Well, I kind of had this coming. What a letdown.
