It was the third day of the exam. Felix cooked a slab of meat in a different method this time, instead of being burnt and overcooked. It was as close as it could be raw, so raw that he swore he could have heard it still moving and making noises, while he was eating it. Because of that, his stomach was feeling like shit.
Felix just ate pre-packaged food that he could easily heat in the microwave. His lack of cooking ability was a danger to himself, so his fridge was packed with meals he could heat up.
…
“He’s a lost cause.”
“Luckily, someone is getting close to his hiding spot so they can put him out of his misery.”
“Did they randomly find a clown to compete in this exam?”
“I’m rooting for Blake to beat this guy up.”
“Good thing he has a Grave Digging Hound, as disgusting as it looks. It has a keen sense that can pick up on life aura.”
While the people online were talking about Felix. They revealed many key details about his situation. Blake was close to Felix and it seemed like the hound was picking up on his scent.
…
“Scotch, are you saying someone is hiding around here?”
Blake questioned his pet while putting up his guard. Scotch had been for him since his entire childhood. He found him as a kid digging up food in trashcans, and they formed a bond ever since then.
Blake didn’t have a monster as a child. He was too poor for that, nor did he desire one. His mother was working multiple jobs to feed him and his sister, so if he got a monster, then that would mean his mother would have to take care of more mouths to feed.
Although monsters didn’t need to be fed as long as they were kept in the pocket space, placing them inside a pocket space was cutting off their way of growth. The pocket space was a unique dimension that cut off time and space in a certain area.
So he was happy that he found a normal animal instead of a monster. Not only that it was self-reliant too. It knew how to find food even if its food was rotten and trash, and it had a tenacious attitude towards life.
The dog reminded him of himself.
So when he was in middle school, the last year before he graduated. His heart was shattered to smithereens when his mom told him that Scotch had died. His family knew how much he loved Scotch, it wasn’t a secret as his mom and sister cared for it too.
Blake also took Scotch to many of his friends' houses. They knew of his situation and they also liked Scotch, so they didn’t mind feeding their friend’s pet. So they were also pretty disheartened by the fact that Scotch died, trying their best to comfort their grieving friend.
This was the difference between a monster and a normal animal. One could live a long life and fight for their masters while the other could at best be treated as a pet.
After burying his dear friend, Scotch was depressed for a week. It wasn’t until he heard barking in the middle of the night, and investing the noise did he realize what happened. There was a rotting dog with a pair of burning flames in its eye sockets barking outside his apartment.
Instead of the feeling of disgust one would have when seeing a zombie dog, he felt nothing but happiness. Hugging the dog in tears, he formed a natural contract with Scotch, one where both sides wanted to be with each other.
Ever since then, he has gone from trash to being known as a prodigy, when he awakened his talent and contracted the undead version of Scotch. Helping his family out of poverty, his life was one of hardship and hard work. A very inspirational tale that one could a movie out of.
So he didn’t doubt it when Scotch had alerted him of a presence. He was just curious why that person was hiding. Wasn't the main point of this exam to show and prove your strength?
As if answering his question, Scotch barked and started to run in a direction. Keeping up with Scotch, Blake noticed the canopy of the trees growing thinner and thinner. It was during this time, that this cold weather should have withered the leaves of the trees into a brown and shriveled shape. But, the forest here was bizarre, the forest looked healthy and the leaves still shined a vibrant green color, instead of the usual brown that one would expect.

When he noticed that Scotch had stopped at an area, he finally realized that they reached their destination. There was a giant tunnel leading underground, as the darkness separated the light from shining into the tunnel.
It was quite a conspicuous space in the forest. Not only that it looked man-made. Blake observed the surroundings of the tunnel and he couldn’t help but see a giant black of coal. Was this person coming to the exam to mine ores?
This ‘coal’ was actually the burnt food that Felix had thrown out from yesterday. It was so unpalatable that he just left it outside, hoping that it could decompose and be turned into nutrients for the environment.
Blake went to the edge of the tunnel, as he leaned his head forward, the narrowing opening captivated him. He wondered what kind of monster could dig a tunnel like this.
“Who are you and what are you doing inside there?”
Blake curiously shouted.
Hearing no response from the person inside, his curiosity and bravery surged forward. Why would the person not respond? It was obviously because the person was weak or facing a difficult situation right now!
So with that thought in his head, Blake got Scotch to throw the bone inside the tunnel. Whoever was in there would either be forced to be teleported back into the venue or would make his way back up here.
So while he quietly waited, Blake didn’t realize the misfortunes he brought upon himself.
As multiple undead were awoken inside the tunnel, they stormed all the way to the end of the tunnel. Which led to a sight that still shook their undead soul. Felix was attempting to poop in peace while a group of undead barged into him. The awkward situation lasted for a long time. Felix was wiping his ass while the undead just stood there peacefully. They didn’t know why but. The person in front of them was radiating an immense strength that threatened their undead life.
So they cautiously observed him. While hoping one of the undead to make a move. It wasn’t until a brave, undead deer-looking monster took the charge that the rest of them charged too.
They were already dead, what was there to be scared of? With that thought in their mind, they bravely charged ahead.
Felix seeing the group of disgusting creatures coming towards him, summoned Michael. A white and holy array appeared behind him, and his appearance was soon to be known. A divine-like statue appeared behind Felix.
‘Michael, kill them for disrupting my bathroom session.’
‘Yes, master.’
With the command, Michael charged into the horde of undead. When the undead tried to touch his body, a holy light radiated through his body, while hands that tried to reach him were turned to ash. Their souls screamed in agonizing pain.
Holy monsters were simply the nemesis of undead monsters.
So instead of calling it a battle, it was more of a massacre than anything. As the rows of undead were finely purified by Michael. His sword cut through their bodies like butter, actually, it was even smoother than butter.
The moment his sword was a few centimeters away from their body, the bodies of the undead would start to make a hissing sound as their bones and flesh would soon turn to ashes.
It didn’t take long before the horde of undead that had tried to attack Michael, were fully cleansed and purified.
Finished wiping his ass, Felix angrily brought Michael with him outside the tunnel. He had heard a shout from above, but he simply ignored it. They were probably just curious why there was a gigantic tunnel, but he didn’t expect them to send a horde of undead to attack him while he was taking a shit!
If he didn’t beat them up, then that would mean anyone could sneak attack him while he was pooping.
…
“Holy shit!”
“This guy is actually strong?”
“I thought he was just a random clown they put it in for the show.”
“I bow my head towards the young master Felix, please don’t take offense to my previous statements.”
“+1”
“+1”
While the people online were reeling in shock. Felix’s grandfather had a smug face on him. Enjoying the sight of people’s shock and amazement around him. He almost had the urge to shout, ‘That's my Grandson!’, if he hadn’t seen Felix’s behavior the previous days.
Julius approached Felix's grandfather, as he questioned.
“Max, what is that monster your grandson controls? If I’m not mistaken it should be a holy monster, but I haven’t seen it whenever I visited the temple of my lord.”
“Hmph, I don’t know, you’re going to ask that kid yourself. He doesn’t even show respect to his own grandfather.”
Felix’s grandfather already knew what had happened as he approved the request to give a statue and a sword to Alvin. So if he wasn’t wrong then this statue was a fusion of those two monsters, under his grandson’s talent.
His grandson’s talent was powerful, so he promptly dodged the question, with no intention of exposing it.
Seeing that the old man wouldn’t answer. Julius calmly nodded while walking away. Although curious, it's not like he would cause a fuss over something like that. There were countless monsters in this world. What would it matter if he saw a monster that he didn’t recognize, he was simply just curious.
…
Reaching the surface, Felix angrily questioned the honest-looking Blake and his undead hound.
“Damn it, were you the guys who sent a horde of undead to attack me, while I was taking a shit?”
Hearing his question. Blake’s face dropped. Although he acknowledged that he did have the intent of attacking the other party, he didn’t realize that he was pooping. If he knew that, he would have waited like a gentleman, before attacking.
‘Wait! That’s not the problem!’
‘He was attacked by the horde of undead and safely made it up here without a scratch on his body!’
Realizing his precarious situation. Blake ordered Scotch to attack Felix before he could question him even further. The other opponent was strong!
Seeing that he refused to answer his question and ordered his dog to attack him. Felix grew even more angry as he commanded Michael to fight back.
The battle with Blake and Felix would soon begin!
