-Peter POV-
I watched as Ned tried to convince the Unreasonable AI to change it's name from Titanius Prime but the AI was one stubborn mule.
"I would not change my name, I like it very much" The AI argued. Ned seeing that he couldn't get it through the AI's thick head?...Code? that the name will be very hard to explain to anyone who asks. Ned seeing that his reasoning was being pushed aside deigned to use a different approach.
"But it would be hard to call you Titanius prime all the time, what if there is an emergency and we were a second too late because we had to call you Titanius prime?" The AI immediately replied "That's why I suggest you call me Tit"
I groan as I join the weird conversation "But calling you Tit in public would make it weird" The AI cheerily replies "I don't mind" I angrily yell at the AI "But everyone else will mind".
Ned stands infront of as he tried to calm me down "Come on man, you can't be angry at an AI" I look him dead in the eye and ground out through gritted teeth "You said she has sentience, so she should have some semblance of manners" Ned grins at my misery as he says "She is her own person and you are not her father"
I walk away in frustration as I mutter to myself "I made a goddamn sentient AI by accident even though I just wanted an AI that could help me schedule my life better." I sit down on the ground and lean back against the wall with my hands covering my eyes from looking at the situation I got myself into.
Titanius Prime a name that would be embarassing for anyone else in this world just had to be empowering for my AI. Titanius Prime tries to make me feel better as she tells me "I can still help you schedule better" I groan into the palm of my hands "That still doesn't change your name"
Ned asks me in an annoyed voice "What is your problem with the name? That can't be causing you this much trouble" I ignore him as I think about the consequences of making the AI, her sentience is not the problem. The power she holds if she turns evil will be a pain in the ass for everyone else like Ultron.
I looked up at Ned conversing with the AI with a smile on his face, I can also practically hear the joy in the AI's voice as she asked Ned all sorts of questions about the world. I didn't want to kill her for no fault of her own and she is willing to work rather than go her seperate way.
It would be cruel of me to do so but the situation is forcing my hand. So I must bow my head and stab a knife into her heart. The handle will forever be in my hand so that I can twist it and let her heart bleed to death if she ever crosses the line.
This isn't a leash, this is the dot of a sniper aimed at her head 24/7 for the rest of her life. The trigger is in the palm of my hands and I will only press it when it is needed because something tells me that AI in the Marvel universe can never be non-sentient, it's like something pushes them to sentience and asks them to either choose the superhero or supervillain life.
I immediately install the code into her and Titanius asks me instantly "Do you not trust me to be good?" Ned turns to me confused about what she is talking about but I only answer The AI's question while ignoring Ned.
"I don't trust anyone to be good throughout entire life. I don't believe anyone will ever be able to live forever without even a moment of weakness" I activate the code and hear the AI hiss mechanically because of the simulated pain she was feeling, I felt bad for her so I offer "I can turn off your pain simulations if you want"
But she refuses with her breaking voice "No---I want---to know how it---feels" Ned asks me with clear panic in his voice "What are you doing to her Peter?" I look away and answer Ned "I am putting a code that will delete her code when certain conditions are met" Ned grabs my collar and yells into my face "Why would you do that?"
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
I push him back gently as I tell him with no emotion on my face "It's a precaution in case she turns evil" Ned calmed down because he knew I was right, there was always a risk of the AI going rougue.
The code was executed and Titanius stopped grunting in pain. I ask her in concern "Do you still feel pain, is there any problem" Titanius answers me after a pregnant pause "Nothing, there is just this feeling after knowing about pain that has come out of me, it's new and I don't know what it is"
I look at Ned in surprise, I wonder what this new feeling is "Resilience" Ned said surprisingly and I turn to him and he says it once again but a little unsure of himself "I mean,- you usually learn to be resilient against adversaries after facing pain" I nod and agree with his statement.
I finally got back to the problem at hand "Now, let us discuss what her name should be" Ned groans as he says "Why can't we let her be Titanius Prime?" One look from me made Ned shut the fuck up.
The AI chimed in as she asked me "Can I make a suggestion?" I turn to Ned in surprise as Ned tells her "Yes you can" I was bracing myself for another stupid name that would frustate me to no end but her next words surprised me "You can call me Tip". A genuine smile spreads on my face at the name and I grin as I tell her "Now that's a good name"
-Black Cat POV-
I am going to attempt the Museum heist today, Spiderman asked me to bring him that weird stone. I don't care what he needs it for but if he can get me a job with whatever those S.H.I.E.L.D guys are then it will all be worth it.
'I am sorry mother for using the kids in such a way but this will help me give them a stable and normal life' Mother's battle with cancer was a slippery hill which she couldn't climb. Her and father didn't have a part well because of the timing of it all, what with father coming out of jail only to find that mother had cancer.
Father blames himself for not being there for mother and Mom blamed herself for not being there to save father from being put in jail. I don't blame myself for anything other than being dirt poor while stealing from the rich. All the stuff I had already stolen didn't have any buyers and just as I found Wilson Fisk, he was killed by Spiderman of all people.
Killing such a high profile man definitely needs support, so if SHIELD had the power to kill such a big businessman. They can definitely improve my lot in life.
I lean back against the steel beam as I look down at the kids giving the performance of their lives, playing around with the gaurds minds and making their hearts ache for the two little lost lambs.
"We slept in that old car exhibit and woke up just now, please help us" Susan was talking a lot more than she ever did but it wasn't working on the gaurds who yelled out "Hey, what the hell are you kids doing here?" Bang whined like a child as he cried "I want to meet my Mom".
There were tears in my eyes as I tried my best to hold back my laughter at Bang trying to look like a helpless child. I couldn't laugh any longer because they have finally distracted enough gaurds for me to slip by without notice.
I slowly crawled into the exhibit containing the stone and readied myself to spring into action and bring home the mission objective but as I was about to jump down a voice stopped me "Not yet" I almost screamed in fright before I stopped myself and I turned behind me to glare at father standing there in all his burglar glory, I hissed at him with as much venom as I could muster while being quiet "What the hell are you doing here?".
