James knew that what he had done was something that should not happen until years into the game, if ever. So, he was unsurprised when the voice of Yoshi was replaced by a new one.
“Hello James, I must say you have been making quite the name for yourself as of late. Three administrator notices in less than an hour impressive. As you may have read my assistance was called in to help understand what has happened, and if necessary, doll out punishment.” James remained silent. He knew one wrong word and he would be banned. He did not want to have to rely on using any privileges he was not certain he even had.
“Now let’s review the logs, you did…WHAT with …HOW MANY!?” The voice was struck silent by what he was reading but returned a moment later. “You have to be cheating.” James did not hesitate to speak up at that moment.
“I’m under watch by an entire team to ensure I don’t cheat, ask around. The only inside information I have is about the secret of one world item, and how it made. Caloric stone, I overheard some guys who were designing it during one of my breaks. Finding the secret of an item I found in a loot chest was not expected.”
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“I see…” said the administrator with a flustered, breathy voice. “Why did you attack the town?” “They were trying to kill me, and I was notified the gods put a hit on me. I was also branded with the title “World Enemy” for… Fucks sake. I honestly did not know that when it said legion it would be that many.”
“You used the horn and used all its available functions at once. Since you used them all at once the strongest of them became Fenrir’s avatar, being given a substantial boost in the process. Alright with your numbers and their levels, you made short work of the town.” He feel silent allowing james to hear the tapping of the admins fingers on what seemed to be a glass tablet.
“I can see why It registered divine assistance on both sides. High amounts of divine opposition is an understatement. Would you like to know what those stupid A.I.’s calling themselves gods promised the player who killed you?” “Plus 25% EXP from all sources.” “That and they promised whoever killed you for the final time would have their level cap removed, as well as 20 free levels in classes of their choice. Even normally restricted and hidden classes were on that list!” “Damn they really want me dead.”
“No argument there, James.” “Anyway, now for the matter at hand you have successfully captured the beginner’s town of Mistra. For all your accomplishments today, you will be granted several rewards and several options of greater things from which to choose from.” A large text box appeared before James who began scrolling to see everything, he was being directly given due to his achievement. Lots of items to help with the base and the creation and editing of NPC’s, lots of gold, among other things.
“You will have the option to have the town as your guild base, I would suggest you take it, if you don’t it will be overrun by monsters in days or less at which point it will become a dungeon.” “I will take it as my guild base; however, I need certain assurances.”
“Oh boy here it comes… What would those assurances be sir?” James could hear how done this man was with this whole situation. “I want to have the NPC shop keepers and towns folk have a separate level limit from the NPC’s that I make, that’s the first.” “Ok I can do that. I will even increase the level capacity for the town’s folk and shop keepers by about 2,000 levels. By the list of things in this log you will need it, and you have certainly earned it.”
“Second I want Fenrir’s avatar to persist when I’m dead or logged out. He should be teleported back to my guild base if either of those come to pass.” James turned to Fenrir, “You can help keep my base and the citizens safe while I’m away. It gives you something to do.” Fenrir growled for a moment before responding, “I will need troops.” The admin cut back in. “I can allow him and only him to persist, if he wants troops, I can make some of the creatures you summoned part of the town they will become the guard.”
James was about to reply when Fenrir replied first, “This is acceptable.” James gave a look of ok then, to Fenrir. “That was actually number three, I wanted to keep some of them for the town, thanks for that.” “No problem. Anything else?”
“Since it will become my base, will my title make the town’s folk treat me badly, like they give me shitty prices or something like that?” “No, I will ensure that they have a positive relationship toward you.” “Great, now for my greater rewards.”
“Your greater rewards options are as follows, you may pick more than one, but I will tell you when you can pick no more.”
Throne of Kings- World Class item
Fountain of Youth- World Class item
Holy Grail- World Class item
Random World Class Item
A choice of cache up items from the store
Increase Guild base NPC levels capacity by 2,000 levels
Have an item or idea, of your choice made, and given to you or implemented
Knowledge
“My guess is knowledge is among the most expensive on this list?” “You are correct.” “I can ask for the same thing more than once, except the World class items right?” “Right again.” James was honestly was tempted by the world class items. A fountain of youth, the Holy Grail, Amazing! The throne interested him none however, a world class item that was immobile and only gave a single buff, no thanks. James Did not trust randomness.
He wanted to ask about artificing, he was curious if the Soul of Artifice from D&D was here in Yggdrasil. “I have an idea.” There was a loud sign from the admin, “Why did you have to earn enough for that option to show up? What do you want?” “The best way to eliminate an enemy is to make a friend of him.” The voice of the admin came back sounding almost excited. “I’m not sure I like where this is going but you have caught my interested. Continue.”
“I want an item, which will allow me to turn enemy NPC’s into my allies. Think of it like Pokémon.” The admin burst out laughing, but quickly regained his composure. “I have not heard that name in years. I think we can do that, but obviously you will not be able to use it on certain enemies like players, NPC’s with world items, world bosses, and such. Especially if you go with the Pokémon analogy.”
“I’m fine with that, but I would like to design the item. I do not mind if it can only be used like once a week. However, it must be able to be used on multiple targets at once. By the way if I used the item on the final boss of a dungeon would It count as completed even if the boss isn’t dead?” There was several seconds of silence. “You can help us address those issues when your designing the item.” “Alright, do I keep going?”
“You still have points to spend so yes.” “I want an item that can scan other items and give me both a blueprint for them so I can make them myself, and all the information there is about the item.” “You are killing me man, why can’t you just take the simpler options like the other players would?” “That’s because, I’m not like the other players, and I have the perspective to make the best of the choices I’m given.”
“Fine, you will have to help design that one too.” “The last thing I want is a blueprint for the item I just asked.” “That is goes just over what I am supposed to allow, but since its only just over, I will allow it. Are you sure these are the options you want to choose?” “Yes, these are the options I want thank you.” “Very well I will send a notice to the head of your department, and then you can design the items you want. I’ll make sure that team watching you is there to observe, just in case.”
James did not argue, it was reasonable.
