James had spent almost all his few remaining level cap raising crystals on giving him enough levels, save for one increase by 10 crystal, in the appropriate classes for what he had in mind. James opened his Character Backstory.

Hephaestus

Hephaestus named for the god of the same name. He will forever remember his first moments, how his creator gave him life, and then made it eternal. How he granted him the knowledge to live up to his name, the power to make things with his own two hands.

He was granted an appearance that would be appealing to others, and a body unyielding, that he may better carry out his work.

He was made for the natural goblin curiosity that he would possess. For their propensity for cleverness and making new and unique items. Their minds granting them a different perspective.

Hephaestus is not a savage monster as others like him could be. He is a being of integrity, with a will to bend and shape all that is beneath the sun and stars. He is a being of order and disapproves of those who would use their might to oppress others weaker than themselves. He is very careful with what he crafts, and who it goes to.

Though he is technically undead, his mastery of Ki has drawn him back towards the edge of life. Through his years he has become a master of both life and death. So much so, that he is no longer truly undead or alive. Instead he could be considered an entity between life and death.

His heart beats, yet his body does not tire. He can hunger and thirst and enjoy these things. As he is undead his days are eternal. However, he is not stagnant like other undead. His mastery of Ki has granted him freedom from the greatest flaw of Undeath, the emotional inhibitor.

His body is damaged by neither negative nor positive energy, in fact both heal him. Though he is in some ways undead, in others he is not. His flesh does not age with the passage of time. His mind will never deteriorate due to times passage. He is undead and yet he can procreate with others.

Even if he were to lose all his flesh, reducing him to only his skeleton, he can continue fighting. He is truly one of a kind.

James wanted Hephaestus to live and yet he, James, wanted to have him around for as long as he, Hephaestus, wished it. So, he added to his backstory to allow him to be eternal and gave him the means to enjoy life. “An undead that can procreate. I wonder what his children would be like?”

James looked at his own levels and reviewed the logs.

James was unsurprised that he had gained levels in spearman. He had used Longinus, the spear of erasing, to get rid of a level 100 player. He was surprised about this God King stuff. The money would be a big help though.

It was almost time for the Job obtainment quest. There were a few things that still needed to be done before he participated in that quest. Undoubtably it would be far more difficult than it had been in the manga. James could only imagine.

With Hephaestus done, he moved onto the next task at hand, farming. The bases upkeep had exceeded half a billion gold a week he needed those farms so he could keep as much of the wealth he generated as possible.

James opened his menu and added several floors bringing the total of floors up to 10. It had cost him a trillion gold. Including the price of leveling Hephaestus, he had just spent 1,001,125,000,000 gold. This brought his total amount of gold up to 9,387,911,853,500 gold.

As he had simply added the floors, they were simple large cavers that lead deep into the world, each floor connected to the previous and the next. James had different ideas. He moved the farm from being the bottom floor to being the 7th floor. James moved to the end of the 4th floor and placed a ward to cast gate and keep it open. The Gate lead down to the 8th floor.

He took floors 5-7 and disconnected them from the path downward. Now when people attempted to raid his base, they would move through this gate from the 4th floor to the 8th. This would keep his farms safe. This change would allow him to build a very large library for the New World and have a whole floor left over for other ideas down the road.

James made a path from the 5th floor to the 6th, the 6th to the 7th, and 7th to both the 5th and 10th floors. James would have to make some ring like what Ainz had to get around Nazarick when he got the materials.

On the new third floor James lowered the floor until it was mora than a mile deep, then he paid to fill it with water, because he did not want to wait for it to be filled by create water warding. He copied the sky from the 7th floor via the base menu and pasted it to the sky over this new ocean floor, making the necessary changes for it to fit and such.

James did not want to spend more gold and levels on NPC’s than he had to so he settled for creating a few areas where aquatic pop mobs would spawn from. He had large sharks, tritons, and various varieties of fish.

When that was said and done, he worked some magic with some warding, about 200 dollars American, and the base menu. He wrote a script that would keep the populations of aquatic creatures in check. He reconfigure the pop mobs A.I.’s so that they had simple predator prey actions.

The script helped to control the spawning of creatures on this floor. In this way it would not just keep spawning monsters without end. It also created a very realist style of weather on the floor. Of course, he could call up a storm on demand but that was beside the point.

He was very proud of his achievement. He had created a stable aquatic environment, with currents, an ecosystem, and even weather. He was even rewarded for it.

You have created a self-sustaining ecosystem!

You have earned the achievement, “Self-Sufficiency”

Self-Sufficiency- An achievement granted to those who put all their thought and care into the places they create. For those who create worlds unto themselves. +20% to the yield of crops in the territory of your guild base.

James was very happy that increase would help him considerably. At the front and back of the ocean floor were stairs leading up to the 2nd floor and down to the 4th respectively. On each of those doors he placed wards that would prevent the water from exiting the floor. So that when things like waves crashed up to where the door was it could not leave the floor. These wards he made sure did not stop creatures or air from going in and out of the doors.

He looked down from high above the bright and sunny ocean he had made. He saw the great shapes of Leviathans swimming beneath the waves. There were less than 10 of them on the floor. They were all level 65, very expensive, pop mobs. They were stronger but as a result only a few could be around at anyone time. It also took 10 minutes for a new one to spawn if any were killed.

Their levels were high enough that even a level 100 player that had the ability to negate all damage from creatures’ level 60 and below could not ignore them. If he were an intruder, even if he flew over the ocean these leviathans would still be able to get him. He knew this because they occasionally jumped from the sea into the air where they could hover, and even fly with their fins, for short periods of time. It reminded him of a real fish on earth, though on this version of earth they were endangered.

Mostly this floors purpose was to annoy the shit out of raiders and delay them heavily. Anyone who entered this floor, which was not in his guild, would face a decently tough environment. None of this was to mention the guardian for this floor, that he was about to make.

He used his creator’s tools and scrolled until he found the race he was looking for, Mimic. He stood on the 10-foot platform that was attached to the wall in front of the stairs. It was like this on both sides of the ocean.

He tapped the icon and there before him appeared a small blob of flesh, only as big as a fist. He increased its racial levels until it was a level 15 mimic, every level increasing its size. By the time it was level 15 it was the size of a minivan.

That was enough to have it start taking on the shape he wanted. He customized the mimic into the shape of a large lifeboat. He pushed the mimic off the platform and mush to his joy it floated.

He continued to level and customize the mimic until. He gave the mimic the name Yeldin.

When he was done what was in the before him was a large multicolor ship the size of a frigate. It had no sails but could traverse the sea with ease and even fly in the sky. The skin of the mimic was metal due to a King mimic racial ability, absorption. James had feed the mimic the various ores that he had obtained from slain players.

Since he could change his shape then he could even walk on land by making himself some legs. That was how he managed to get around in the ocean, he had some arms with webbed fingers to help him propel himself through the water.

He could fly due to a few items he had purchased from the cache up shop. He had to stop using the cache up shop until next month, he still had to live. It took him another hour to write a script he felt was sufficient to keep any raiders busy for quite some time.

He used a small amount of gold to create a glowing track that Yeldin would follow when he was not fighting intruders.

Maybe he would add an undead captain later, but that was a decision for another time.

James moved down to the fourth floor, he looked upon the blank cavern and quickly moved through the gate to the 8th floor. He went to the 10th floor and there was the gate that he had set up. When he stepped through it, he was greeted by the beautiful farming floor.

The artificial sky had the sun high in the sky it was about noon in game. It was time for James to start on the farms.
