Oh Captain My Captain!

Oh Captain My Captain!

James rubbed his hands together, then a memory flashed through his mind, and he smiled. He knew who he would make the captain of the good mimic ship Yeldin, along with their first mate.

James took out his All-purpose farming tool and set to work creating an orchard of apple trees in the horse folks’ pasture. He made sure to do a little research on making orchards. He made every row 20 feet from one another and every tree 20 feet from one another. He expected these trees to be big.

James made each row of trees 100 trees long and there were 100 rows of apple trees. This process took surprisingly not that long thanks to James’ ability to fly, and his OP tool.

James was surprised to see there were only 20 types of apple trees available in the store. No of them were like the golden apple tree out near the front of the farm.

James did not want to wait so he paid a bit more gold to have fully grown trees spawn instead of seedlings. Since there were only 20 types of trees, he planted five complete rows of each type of trees right next to each other. He did this with all the trees.

Since the trees were fully grown and his tool had enhanced the soil as he had worked it, he had no doubt that the trees would soon bare the fruit of his labor. James gathered up all the Horse folk who would be the care takers of this orchard and wrote a few simple scripts that when put together would have these farmers maintain and harvest the orchard.

James kept a copy of the scripts to edit and use for the other NPC farmers. Before James moved onto the next farm he flew up and inspected the black tree that grew Notch apples. Even within the aura of the trees of life there was hardly any progress in the apple’s growth. James shook his head and continued his work.

Next, he moved onto the rabbit folks’ fields. He quickly made many rows for the many carrots he would be planting. When he was done with that work, he searched carrots in the Normal player store. What came up was disappointing.

There were only three types of carrots in the store. His eyes were immediately drawn to the words, “Golden Carrots”. Another Minecraft reference he highly suspected. He made them the first row.

He inspected all names on the list. There were, Carrots, Purple carrots, Golden carrots. So, James divided up the field into three equal sections. Golden carrots on the right side, normal carrots on the left, and Purple carrots in the middle. James gathered the Rabbit folk farmers and gave them his scripts with the necessary adjustments.

James moved on to the Elves next. What would their specialties be? Elves were known for many things. What they were most known for, to his memory, was living as one with nature and living in giant trees. So, James looked through the store for the biggest king of tree available, not sure any would fit his needs.

Much to his surprise there were a few varieties of monstrously sized trees available. When he reached the bottom of the list however is when his jaw dropped.

“Sapling of Yggdrasil!” James tapped on the name to get more details. When he saw the price, his Jaw was through the ground. “A Quadrillion GOLD!” James looked at its price in cash, his left eye began twitching. “10,000 dollars.” This time James’ voice was quiet.

He knew he could not and should not attempt to buy that tree not for quite some time. He vowed however to buy that tree before he left for the New World.

James purchased the second largest type of tree he could find in the store. When he was deciding where to place the tree a display of the tree fully grown appeared. It was perfect, and it was massive.

James left the same spot selected and flew up high towards the top of the domed roof. At its apex, the roof must have been three miles tall, this tree reached up a third of that distance. Its branches stretched out and were two thirds as wide as the tree was tall. It was a big tree.

James returned to the ground and carefully moved the location he wanted to place the tree in around. When he finally placed the tree, he spent a significant sum to have it just be fully grown. He would enjoy making an elven village in that tree’s branches. It would be fun to create a spiraling staircase up the tree’s trunk.

That was a task for another day, however.

James gave each one of the elves a level in Druid. He gave Terran, the leader of the elves, 30 levels.

Druid 15 lv

Arch Druid 10 lv

Elder Arch Druid 5 lv

James was satisfied with the elves for now, they could help maintain the fields and provide healing magic to the community.

James moved onto the humans. For them he picked out a variety of fruits, vegetables, and other assorted crops for them to grow. Potatoes, lettuce, lemons, wheat, and alfalfa. All different types of crops each given its own small section on the human’s farm.

With that he checked the time. “Yikes! It is 10 P.M., time for bed!” James had lost track of time with all the work he had done. James logged of after taking one more view of the beautiful floor. He would have to work on meat products next weekend.

He had spent 15 billion for the farm’s stuffs.

Monday

James walked off the elevator and after having to wade though all the people who wanted his help and telling them all, “I have other work that requires my attention I am sorry.” He continued into the office. He had decided that he would upgrade his help first as it would take the least time.

James notified Takeda and he called in the observation team. James logged into the testing room and began his work. Since Takeda was there James got him to help him program in some special functions of the helm that would only be effective within his guild base.

James remembered an old mod for a game called, “Space Engineers”. The name of the mod was, “Build Vision 2.5”. He and Takeda helped to implement that ability into the helm first.

The effect was, in basic terms, whenever he looked at any interactable or controllable things within his base, excluding NPC’s, a small window would pop up in his vision. On the window would be the controllable options for the thing he was looking at. This would help him control things at a moments notice, instead of having to open the base menu and scramble around looking for the right option.

When that was done, they implemented a simple inspect ability into the helm. The ability could be used so long as he had mana. Being as it only required one mana to use, it was a great addition to his arsenal.

When he used the ability, a small screen would appear that would show the stats and some other relevant information about what he had scanned.

With that done James waved Takeda off as he logged out. James then turned to the observation team, “Would you guys help me repair Fenrir’s Howl?” they all huddled together with their tiny avatars. It only took them a minute to decide to help him.

Tuesday – Wednesday

James and the munchkins as he liked to call them, continued to work on and eventually fully repaired and improved upon, Fenrir’s Howl. By the time that was done it was noon on Wednesday, “Lunch time!”

After lunch James got together with the new team that had been assembled to create and implement the Commerce update, that he had requested.

Wednesday – Friday

James and the Commerce update team worked some long hours they had worked though the designs for many of the coins. There was still much to do, however. They had to set the values for each of the new coins, in relation to gold and to each other. This was no small task. James discovered that there were nearly 50 kinds of metals in Yggdrasil, when you included the Prismatic ores.

Each member of the team worked with a single material, designing the coins appearance, polishing the appearance, and so on. While half the team worked on the coins and the necessary updates to the game to facilitate the usage of these coins, the other half was given the task of helping to determine and setting appropriate values for the new coins.

Every two hours the teams would switch. This caused some conflict early on due to one person’s ideas for their assigned coinage conflicting with the ideas of the person who traded off with them.

James quickly got such conflicts under control by making a simple compromise. “How about instead of one texture, each coin can have two or three?” Those who had been fighting over whose idea was better moments earlier, all shook their head in agreement.

James did not like when there were too many repeating textures in a game. Having multiple versions of the same coins may eat up more time for producing the update, but it would be a well-received update he was sure of that.

Some of the new coins had as many as five different textures. While other designers were too lazy to argue with the person they traded off with, and so the coins they were assigned only had a single texture.

James suspected it would take two weeks to finish the update, but he did not mind. James was very excited as he walked out of work on Friday. Tomorrow was Saturday, more specifically it was the day of the Powered armor update.

Saturday

James woke up and started downloading the update before continuing to go through his morning routine.

James logged in and was very happy that it was finally here. James remembered that he had two NPC’s he had to make. A captain and their first mate. James moved to the third-floor ocean.

James flew up high into the sky of the third floor. It did not take him long to spot the mimic ship Yeldin. James set down on the ship and pulled out his creators’ tools. Before he made the captain or her first mate, James made many low-level mimics. Every piece of furniture that looked like wood, was a mimic.

James made small scripts for each of them so that they would always return to certain preassigned spots on the ship. When he was done with all the mimics, he mass selected them though the base menu and added to their collective backstories.

“All mimics on the mimic ship, Yeldin, yield to the captain of the Yeldin, Captain Aurum.”

James moved onto the Captain. She was a beautiful Wild Elf woman, most pleasing to behold. Many a ship would gladly give up their cargo just to see her smile. Her eyes were grey like a sea born storm.

The elven woman known as Captain Aurum had pristine pearl white skin. She had the long ears elves were known for. Her mountain of blonde curly hair rose to half the height of her head over the top of her head. Her hair fell all the way to her waist.

James knew he had to be careful as he made this next addition to her. One false move and he would be banned. James gave the captain a large set of breasts, which were half exposed. He breasts made one wonder how her captains uniform managed to hold them.

(I will link to the comic where I am taking this elf from and he you will probably be able to guess who her first mate will be. This comic is NSFW, incase you had not guessed that.)

Her lips were full and the color of crimson. Around her waist James gave her a sword belt. He did not have a sword for her, however. “Store.” James spoke, so, he decided to look for one in his system store.

He had neglected to use the store, so he thought this was a good moment to see what was there.

Many of the weapons he found were similar to those available to normal players, however when he checked the stats to compare them, the weapons from the System Store, very often had double the stats and as much as 150% in some instances when compared to their counterparts in the normal store.

James was amazed, he should have looked more carefully when he had previously accessed the store. He searched through the store until he found a paired set of Divine class blades. James tapped on them expecting, “Fuck!” Their price was 50 billion. James checked the normal store to see if these blades had a counterpart, they did.

The set of blades in the normal store however, cost more than 2 and a half trillion gold. James remembered that there was a major difference in the pricing of items when the MC of Solo leveling had them appraised but this was retarded.

James bought the set of blades. They appeared in his inventory as a data crystal, so he could edit them to his hearts content. He placed the data crystal in her inventory, he needed more materials before he edited the swords.

James knew she would need a weapon in the meantime, so he handed her his own adamantine katana. James recalled a few idea he had, had. He made a mental note that those would be the next things he requested from the admins.

Moving on. He spent 1.5 billion to level up the captain.

James knew a pirate could use the keen eyes of both a ranger and a merchant. A mastery of their sword and a charisma to match their prowess. When they reached the New world, he would let her and her crew loose in it. They would probably be attacked by a dragon; He was certain they would prevail if that were to happen.

He would have to wait on the second in command. He did not yet possess the necessary materials to make him the best he could.
