Chapter 32 Forest
Sierra charged at Ray, Ray shot a blast at her, Sierra deflected the attack towards the sky, and got near Ray. Ray took her head on, as they were exchanging blows, Sierra managed to dodge one of Ray's attacks, and kick Ray in the chin sending him upwards.
Ray quickly sent a few bolts of energy towards Sierra, Sierra sent her own energy, the two energy collided midair, and exploded. Ray landed on the roof, while Sierra got pushed back.
Bunch of footsteps can be heard coming towards them. They could hear yelling, Ray, and Sierra looked towards the sound, and saw a group of knights charging towards them.
“Lady Sierra, we come to help you!” One of the knights screamed.
“No! You idiots, stay back!” Sierra screams back at them.
{I should blast them away before they manage to interfere.} Ray thought to himself.
Ray held up his hand towards the group of knights, and charged his energy, Sierra looked at Ray, and saw what he was planning to do.
“No!” Sierra screams, as she releases another shot of energy towards Ray.
“Wha!” Ray said, he quickly moved his hand toward the beam that was headed his way, the energy hit his hand setting off another explosive. Ray got sent flying, his right hand now exposed, his black clothing getting ripped off from the explosion.
Ray stood up, and looked at his hand, which was bleeding, he wiped his hand on his chest and started jumping back.
{Where is she?}
A bolt of energy came from the bottom of Ray, Ray managed to move his body before it made contact, and hit the roof with his back, Sierra jumped back onto the roof.
“Where are your knights?” Ray asked.
“You killed them.”
“Yes I already killed a few of your knights.” Ray answered.
“I will avenge them.”
“No, you won’t, if you don't have any more needless death I would suggest telling your knights to back off.”
“I ordered them to leave, they have no part in this fight.” Sierra said.
“I agree, then how about we head somewhere more private.” Ray said.
“What are you talking about?” Sierra asked.
“My only target is you, I don't care about the villagers' life, or the knights, as long as I kill you, that is enough. I don’t want to kill anyone unless I have to.” Ray said.
“You already killed a couple of my men! Leaving their bodies on the ground, waiting for everyone to see them. What kinda sick games are you playing!?” Sierra yelled.
“I am being serious, I’ll meet you there.” Ray said, as he started jumping from roof to roof.
“Don’t think you can get away from me!” Sierra yelled.
She went after Ray, sending more energy bolts towards him. Ray went as fast as he could heading towards the woods, dodging the energy that Sierra kept sending after him. Ray was close to the forest when his foot slipped, and his back got hit.
The energy bolt sent him flying towards the woods, Ray hit a few trees, before he started rolling on the ground.
{That was a little rough.}
Sierra landed in front of him, Ray got on his feet, and rubbed his clothes, his left hand now completely exposed.
“So judging from your left hand, it seems you are marked.” Sierra said.
Ray looked at his exposed hand, the moonlight illuminating it, despite the tree's shades, he closed his hand.
“Yes, it seems you still have the energy to fight.” Ray said.
“Of course, now then why are you after my life?” Sierra asked.
“Sorry, but I am done answering questions.” Ray said.
Ray charges at Sierra continuing to attack in close combat. Sierra parries the blow of Ray, guiding it away from her body, Ray's posture crumbles and she quickly charges her hand, and hits Ray in the chest.
Ray flew through the forest hitting more trees, their fight could be heard from the village, Ray landed on his feet, and jumped on top of the tree, waiting for Sierra. Sierra came to where she believed Ray landed, but with no light, she was looking at pure darkness.
Ray quietly jumped down, and he was on top of Sierra, he charged his left foot, and before she could react, he kicked her on the back side of the face with everything he got. Ray saw her flung back into the deeper part of the woods.
{Man it was about time you were the one that got sent flying.}
[Snap! Rustle!]
Ray looked behind him, and saw a knight, and a woman holding a lantern facing him, the knight quickly drew his bow, and shot at Ray.
{You idiot!}
Ray jumped back from the arrow that came from the knight.
“Dammit.” Ray whispered to himself.
“Go back! Get your son, and get out of here! Alert the others!” The knight yelled at the woman. While drawing his sword

{I have no choice now.}
The knight ran towards Ray. He was swinging his blade, but Ray was too fast for him. The knight did a downward strike, Ray easily dodged it, and kicked the blade out of his hand, the blade scattered in front of the woman. Ray grabbed the knight's arm pulling him to the ground, and while he fell snap his neck.
“Why couldn’t you just run away.” Ray whispered. As he watches the blood coming out of the knight forming a puddle.
[Smack!]
Something hit Ray on the left side of his mask, Ray saw a rock rolling on the ground, he put his hand where he got hit, and wiped the dirt off his mark. Ray looked at the woman, who was holding a lantern, and her other hand extended if she had just thrown something.
{No! You didn’t!}
Ray looked at the woman, with bewilderment, his mask hiding his face, only his eyes can be seen, and they were wide looking at the woman. The woman was taking deep breaths, she was shaking, barely able to hold the lantern steady.
“Was it you!?” The woman stuttered out.
“What!?” Ray asked in surprise.
“Did you kill those men, m.. my Paul.” The woman said.
Ray could barely focus on her words, still acknowledging the fact that a random villager just attacked him.
“Yes, they are all dead.” Ray instinctively answered.
The woman let go of her breath in shock, she looked like she was about to cry, she eyed the sword that was on the ground, the moonlight reflection, bouncing off the sword blade.
{Don’t do it, please, don’t do it.}
The woman ran for the blade, dropping the lantern, the lantern candle coming off the holder, and rolling away, igniting the leaf it landed on, the woman picked up the sword and charged at Ray, raising the sword. As she got closer to Ray she brought down the sword.
Ray put up his arm to stop the attack, the blade managed to pierce his skin by half an inch, using his other hand. Ray grabs the woman by the neck, raising her up. She let go of the blade, trying desperately to get free.
“You brought this onto yourself the moment you threw that rock at me, why couldn’t you just follow the knight's direction, now I don’t have a choice.” Ray said.
“You.. Your… a- coward.”
[Snap!]
Ray drops her body to the ground.
[Rustle!]
Ray looks at the two bodies on the floor, both with their necks snap, blood coming out of them.
{I had no choice, it was either them or Eda.}
“Mom!” A voice shriek.
Ray jumps back from the bodies, making sure not to make the same mistake. Ray watched a figure coming towards the body, it was a teenager.
{Junior!} Ray thought to himself, I'm surprised he took a couple more steps back.
“Mom?” Junior said, slowly picking up her body. “No, please. No, mom! Mom!” Junior said, tears coming out of his eyes. “You, what did you do!” Junior screams at Ray.
“It’s not, I didn’t, I didn’t mean too.” Ray sputtered out. Ray jumped towards the tree, trying to escape the screams of Junior, when he was tackled, in mid air. “Oohp.” Ray said.
“You killed them! My knights, both of his parents!” Sierra said, as she hit Ray on the mask with all the strength she had.
Ray fell to the ground, his back hitting the tree, he pushed himself back up, and looked at Sierra who was approaching him.
“I was only following orders,” Ray shouted back.
“I don’t want to hear your stupid excuses, if you’re after me, that’s fine, but don't drag innocents into this fight!” Sierra yelled back.
“It's not that simple, I have to follow through!” Ray said.
“You don’t have to, you can stop this, stop all this needless death, give yourself up, if you really don’t want to do this, enough people have died already.” Sierra said.
“...No, I could never join the church after what they did to my village, thi is my life now, I have no choice left.” Ray said.
“There is always a choice.”
“Really? What are my then? If I join you the rest of my family dies.” Ray said.
“We can help them.” Sierra said.
“No, I don’t want your help, I only want to follow my orders, so let me kill you, so no more people have to die.” Ray said.
“I’m sorry, but I have things I want to do, I need to change the way the church runs, I can’t die here.”
“You will.” Ray said.
{I don’t care anymore if more innocents have to die, then so be it, I won’t fail, no matter what I have to survive.}
Ray, unleashes as much as his power as he could, and charges at Sierra, getting faster, and stronger with every strike. Sierra blocked his every move, but was struggling to keep up.
“You knights have it so easy, being able to live your life freely, being able to leave whenever you want, I have someone I need to protect too!” Ray said, as he punched Sierra in the stomach.
“That doesn’t give you the right to kill them, we don’t have an easy life, what do you know of the struggles I went through to be where I am now? I joined the church so I can protect people.” Sierra said.
“Since I killed almost ten people, I would say you failed.”
Sierra held up her left arm, shooting a bolf energy towards Ray, Ray did the same, both of the energy collided, setting off explosions, and smoke everywhere. Sierra came from the side, Ray managed to block her blow at the last minute, getting pushed back a couple of feet.
Ray went after Sierra, landing a couple of blows, before Sierra managed to catch his hand, and threw him over her shoulder, hitting a big rock. Ray got back up, charging both his hands, and hit the ground in front of Sierra, sending her backwards. Ray caught up to her and started punching her again, when she tried to throw another punch towards Ray masks, he caught it, and copied her, throwing her as hard as he could back towards the village.
As she went flying Ray send energy bolts towards Sierra, the blast pushing her towards the village, Sierra hit the rooftop of the houses, she on her feet, igniting her body in her aura, and jump towards Ray, Ray quickly send another blast towards her, Sierra cross her arms in attempt to block it.
The energy hit her forearm, causing another big explosion to go off, Sierra got on her feet, her forearms red with burns. They both look at each other.
“It’s a shame you blessed knights, can’t heal like us.” Ray said.
“I'd rather stay human, thanks.” Sierra said.
Ray looked around, the bells had stopped ringing, most of the village was illuminated thanks to the lantern, Ray could still hear crying, and wailing coming from the villagers, he saw the church in the distance and remembered what Vincent told him.
{Oh right, I almost forgot about that, might as well since I’m still fighting her.}
“I thought you said you didn’t want to fight in the village.” Sierra said.
“I changed my mind, I won’t target innocents, but I will kill anyone who raises their arm against me.” Ray answered.
“No matter who it is?”
“No matter who it is.”
Sierra jumped at Ray, but Ray anticipated that, and moved sideways, and kicked Sierra in the ribs, sending her through a couple of houses.
{I had to take the fight to the church.}
Ray went after Sierra, whe Sierra stood up Ray quickly grabbed her by the neck, and threw her towards the church. Sierra hit the front of the church, the bell of the church started ringing slightly because of the force. Sierra fell hitting the stairs of the church, when she was falling, Sierra pushed herself to stand, and saw Ray land in the clearing of the church. Standing up, and looking directly at her.
