As Ray kept staring at the symbol of Sez, he heard the wooden double doors open, Ray turned around and saw the deacon of the church coming in.
“Oh. I’m sorry I didn’t realize there was another one here, did you get lost when all of you came in?” The deacon said.
“No, sorry, I actually came with my uncle. Miss Sierra wanted to see him.”
“Your uncle?... Do you mean sir Vincent!?” The deacon said.
Ray nodded his head.
“I see, well I am Stevan, and you must be the nephew I heard about.” Stevan said.
Ray looks at the priest with a confused look on his face.
“What do you mean, you heard about me?” Ray said.
“Nevermind that, is there something you are waiting for?”
“Ah, yes, the knight Roger told me to wait here, he went to go get something, so in the meantime I am just waiting.”
“Oh, since you have time, let us go to my study. I have some questions I would like to ask you, if you would just follow me.”
Before Ray could answer the deacon, he already started heading to the room, not wanting to be rude Ray started following him. Stevan opened the door for Ray, the room had only a desk, and two chairs sitting opposite of each other. The room walls were covered in books.
“Please take a seat.” Stevan said.
As Ray sat down, Stevan sat on the other chair, he was studying Ray, until Ray spoke up. “What do you want to know?” Ray said.
“Well since you are the nephew of Sir Vincent I was wondering what you can tell me about him, after all we should get along to help each other out, don’t you think.”
“I can’t tell you anything about Vincent, that he doesn’t want you to know, I am sure you know he is someone who values his privacy, I’m sure he will not agree to me telling you about him.” Ray said.
“Oh, Sam, you misunderstand me. You must be aware of the little accident that we had, when we were looking around in the area where your uncle is living at.”
“You mean, when he caught your knights spying on him.” Ray said.
Stevan started laughing. “If you will, may I ask you a hypothetical question, Sam?”
“Ok.” Ray force his anger back down.
“Let's say we did have a knight go spy on a villager, do you think we would just send anybody to go do it?”
“I don’t think so.” Ray said he was starting to get confused.
“Precisely do you know the knight supposedly spying on your uncle was force to leave the village, because of that mistake.”
“If he wasn’t spying then what was he doing near his house!” Ray said.
“That’s the part we don’t understand either. That knight claimed he was grab and dump in that area, a part where Mister Vincent would have clearly seen him, and assume that we were spying on him.
“Wha, what are you trying to say?” Ray asked.
“What I am trying to say is someone kidnapped that knight and place him, where your uncle can see him, in other words the knight was framed for something he didn’t do, and because your uncle wouldn’t listen to reason, it left a bad impression of us towards the rest of the villagers.”
“Why would someone do that? What is there to gain from doing that.”
“Well to be honest the only person who I saw gain from that little accident was your uncle.”
Ray stared at the deacon in silence, until he blurted out words. “My uncle and I are human.” Ray said angrily.
“I never said the both of you weren’t.” Stevan quickly said with a smile on his face.
Ray felt his anger rising up. “I think that's enough for today, if you would excuse me I should head back.”
“That’s too bad, I was hoping we could chat a little longer, oh well I enjoy our little chat, I hope you will remember what I said to you.”
“Don’t worry I promised I won’t forget your words.” Ray said, as he closed the door behind him.
{Dammit he is onto Vincent, no I didn’t say anything that will compromise us, even if they did accuse us, I might still have black blood, Vincent should be fine…. How can I be so careless, if I have the chance I should kill Stevan too… What am I thinking, the only one I have to kill is Miss Sierra, no one else matters.}
As Ray headed towards the doors that lead out of the altar room, they suddenly swung open. Roger, and Brandon came in.
“Hey, sorry I took a while.” Roger said.
“It’s alright, did you guys finish talking?” Ray asked Brandon.
“Yes, Roger will lead you back to your uncle, quick question, do you know if deacon Stevan is here?” Brandon asked.
“Oh, yes, he is in his study, I was actually talking to him.”
“Oh, please let me apologize if he said anything rude to you.” Brandon bowed his head.
“Please, that is not necessary. He didn’t do anything,”
“That's a relief, Roger please take him to where mister Vincent will be at.”

“Of course, Sam, if you would just follow me.” Roger said, as he was leading the way.
“Well it was nice meeting you Sir Brandon.” Ray said.
“You as well Sam.”
Ray went after Roger, as he left the doors, Ray saw Roger waiting for him. As Ray catch up to Roger they started talking.
“If you don’t mind me asking what were you talking about with deacon Stevan?” Roger asked.
“Oh, well the accident that happened between my uncle, and you guys.”
“Really? Man I shouldn’t have left you alone, I’m sorry about that, we told him to let that incident go, but he is always so stubborn. Great not looking towards another scolding from the church.”
“Why would you guys get in trouble?” Ray asked.
“Oh, because you know… your uncle will not take it well when he learns that deacon Stevan was talking to you about that.”
“He doesn't need to know about that.” Ray blurted out.
“Wow, thanks I really appreciate it.” Roger said.
{Ah dammit, why did I do that? Now I can’t tell Vincent, if he finds out we talked about the incident, and didn’t tell him, he is going to beat me. Dammit what should I do?}
“Alright there he is.” Roger said.
Ray looked in front of him, and saw Vincent, he was still talking to Sierra, as Vincent spotted Ray, he waved him over.
“Well I guess this is goodbye.” Roger said, as he held out his hand towards Ray.
Ray grabbed it and shook it. “Thanks again for showing me around. I learned a lot.” Ray said.
They waved each other goodbye, and Ray headed towards Vincent, as Ray got closer he could hear their conversation.
“In a month, I’ll have everything ready.” Vincent said.
“I look forward to it, thank you again for your help.” Sierra said.
“Hello.” Ray said, interrupting the two.
“Hello, Sam, how was the trip?” Sierra asked.
“It was nice, I didn’t realize how big the church actually is.”
“Yub, it's something to be proud of, well if you ever need anything you know where to find me, until we meet again.”
“Yeah, goodbye.” Ray said.
“Well, Sam, we should get going too.” Vincent said.
As the both of them were walking out the church, walking down the stairs Ray was about to ask something, but Vincent quickly interrupted him.
“We will talk when we get home, don’t say anything until then.”
Ray nodded his head, and the both of them walked silently, they stopped at some stores, Vincent talked to the villagers about his business, and when they were done, and finally heading home it was already nighttime.
As they got closer to the house, they saw Viola standing outside the house. As she saw them she started walking towards them.
“Vincent, can I borrow Ray, I need his help with something?”
“Uh this is new, since when do you need help?”
“It's something with my home, it’ll be quick.”
“If it has something to do with your house, I can always have people go over and fix it.” Vincent said.
“No, it's something small, we will be back quick.” Viola said, with a nervous look on her face.
“....Ok, be back soon, Ray and I still need to discuss what to do with the church.”
“Ok, Vi-.” Ray tried to say, but Viola grabbed Ray's arm and started walking away. She led him to the back of the house, where the forest was.
“Follow me quickly!” Viola whispered.
Before Ray could say anything Viola headed towards the forest in a hurry, Ray could barely keep up with her, as they traveled deeper into the forest, Ray saw Viola climping one of the trees, Ray landed on one of the tree branches.
“What's going on?” Ray asked.
“Wait, just let me look.” Viola said.
Ray saw she was staring at Vincent house, a couple of moments later the back door of the house swung open, and something dashed towards the forest.
“What was that!” Ray said.
“That was Vincent , he found the note, Miss Rita left her.”
“Miss Rita, she’s the one you told me about right?” Ray asked.
“Yes, the reason I brought you out here was because of his reaction, he most likely would have dragged you with him, he is most likely trying to find us.”
“Wait, we are hiding from him?”
“Yes, we are going to wait until he calms down, before we head back.”
“He is not going to like that.” Ray said.
“It's better than him doing something reckless.”
“Why did you include me?”
“Huh.”
“I mean, why do you care what happens to me, if anything you should have just pretended you didn't know about Miss Rita.” Ray said.
“Vincent would never believe Miss Rita didn’t come to see me, if anything he is going to be furious I didn’t come to him straight away with the news that she had come to the village.”
“Why didn’t you?”
Viola sighed, before answering. “It was her wish, and I owed Miss Rita.”
“I see.”
“Don’t worry, Vincent won’t punish you for too long either, as soon as he comes back to the house we will go and meet him.” Viola said.
“I still don’t understand why Vincent would be furious that Miss Rita didn’t come see him, or you telling him that she had come to the village.”
“...I guess you should know, Miss Rita, and Vincent were lovers. What split them apart was because Vincent wanted to be done being a hybrid.”
“What!”
“He wanted to leave the organization behind, but he wanted to do it with Miss Rita, after being together for so long, she was the only thing that mattered to him. Vincent could let go of what was keeping him from being a hybrid, but Miss Rita couldn’t.
“Why not.”
“Miss Rita has her reason, but in the end she wouldn’t accept Vincent's plan. She wants him to move on, but she is not ready for that.”
“So instead of being free, she decided to keep being a hybrid.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing Ray?”
“I didn’t mean it like that!”
“Anyway, Vincent was hoping they would be together, but with that letter that she left him, he knows he won’t see her again for a while, when he does come back I am sure he is going to punish me about it.”
“He wouldn't do that.”
“Heh, then you really don’t know him.”
“What does that mean?” Ray asked.
“You’ll see soon enough. For now let's rest a bit, we will head back in the morning.”
Ray wanted to keep asking questions, but Viola already adjusted herself to the tree branch, and close her eyes, Ray sat closer to the tree, inspecting the village.
{I wish Eda and I could leave, was that really the right decision, we got to live, but at the cost of being monsters, is that really worse than dying. Huh, what was it that you told me Eda?... “I would have done exactly the same thing you did.”}
“I really wish you wouldn’t.” Ray whispered to himself.
