Everything goes bright. His antennae sensed a deafening sound that screamed so loud. To him it meant that he is still alive, but he needs to escape. Though the Dwarves numbered many, all he needs to do is escape down the cliff. He could dig a hole with his remaining arm and hide to regenerate his limbs. It would only take a few minutes. Then he would gather the pieces of his sister and bury her.
His Sister, his only remaining family, his longest companion, and his Queen. Oh the rage he would inflict among himself if he could not at least do this. If only he could move. He couldn’t feel or hear anything other than this deafening noise that permeates through his mind. Upon realization of it he could only assume that he was dead and that the noise was silence.
Perhaps this is the afterlife. He and his sister had no gods to worship nor any that they would offer their souls to. Perhaps this was Purgatory that he learned about? To float in this void of nothing forever for no gods would accept them. HE WOULD NOT STAND FOR THIS. He struggled and raged, flinging out whatever he could sense to be his body. This went on for what he thought to be a considerable time.
After calming down, he came to the conclusion that his sister must too be here if he was. He continued his search, moving whatever he could. He could not see, hear, or smell, he could at least touch right? He searched and searched for what could only be a millennium until he felt something. The joy at the mere touch of it. It meant that he still had limbs and feelings.

He touched it more to see if it was his sister. Though the feeling was familiar, it was not his sister. Perhaps something else was in purgatory. He felt it up and down. It felt more like a wall, a large and long one. In fact as he felt more and more of it, he felt that it encircled him. Maybe his sense of direction is dull? Probably more likely that in this realm he would not have one.
Still he continued to touch the wall. It was unending to say the least. He wondered if he was in a cage of sorts. A cage in Purgatory? Strange to think about. Maybe that is why he can’t see his sister. At the thought of this he felt his rage pour through once again. Even the realm of no gods would see that he is separated from his sister? He would never accept this. He banged on the walls, tore at it with whatever claws he had, bit it with his mouth. He would not be stopped. Then he felt it.
A shake. A tremor. Something was happening. He continued his onslaught against his cage. Then he saw it. Light. From the hole he felt that he had been digging, he saw light seep through. He dug faster and faster. Ripping and tearing through, he reached what felt to be the last barrier between him and the outside. With a mighty grab, he pulled the remaining piece open and for the first time in what felt like forever, he felt cold.
