The fly buzzed after the cocoon. They were playing a game of "tag", at least Adam called it so. Adam was the cocoon that held him caged while he was a Pupa before the wizard imbued it with the Dragon's Soul. The reason why it entered the cocoon instead of the glass container was because the container was made of a non-organic material, and nearly no life-force was inside the glass. On the other hand the cocoon was made of organic materials, housed a lifeform and even crafted by somebody intelligent (although these actions are not related).
Adam and Dora had a rough start, but after Adam agreed to change the donkey's age and gender if in return Adam can live with the wizard, the wizard agreed to the deal and danced out to a happy tune, the fly and Adam were left behind.
First they eyed each other, then in a small, sudden moment that you never really notice, the air lost its edge and changed into a comfortable atmosphere. The fly was born some days ago, and still inherently curious, and the dragon was far too old and lonely to make any more enemies, so they became friends fairly quick, though Adam was at a loss how to call his new friend.
Stolen novel; please report.
"The fly," Adam had said, "can't be possibly your name. How are you different from other flies then? You are my friend, not some random fly."
The fly nodded, even though it didn't understand who other flies were supposed to be. The dragon just wanted to name him Eva, which, when the fly asked, turned out to be 2 main characters from a story who fell in love with each other and got kicked out of their place so they could make their own living. At least that's what the dragon said.
The fly didn't want to be called Eva, why not something different like Demet or Ahmad.
And so they started a game of tag, and whoever won can choose what the fly's name is going to be.
