All the data the system stored was handled inside a server. This server is located at the borders of the universe. A few attendants sent by the RNG goddess to each universe manages the server at all times. Since they were practically the RNG goddess' servants, they could work through a single week if needed.
The servant managing the fantasy world is called Rinatara Ruera, nicknamed "Rana". She usually dons a semi-transparent robe enough to reveal her body figure and wears glass high-heels, along with a brown necklace to compliment her hazel eyes. She, along with Anton, were responsible for the current server status.
Anton was a newly created servant, and Rana's apprentince. He'd have to learn the ways of servants first, before he could serve the RNG goddess.
Usually nothing serious happened to the server, but today was a different day. The server managed to overload his CPU by getting stuck in a loop.
This was a problem for Rana, because her only proven solution was...
"WORK ALREADY!"
To hit the server with a fist.
System unable to execute command
The system is unable to execute your command. Please stay patient for a moment while we fix internal issues.
Rana was beyond angry. Not only had she been stuck with this job for over 30 millenas, but the system managed to break itself for some reason. Her first instinct was to destroy the server with one of her high-heels (come on, they are good at breaking stuff) and ask for a new server. Maybe she would even get moved to a less boring job.
Yet she couldn't do that.
"Rinatama-sama, don't you think that we should launch the back-up?"
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Rana glared at the embodiment of failure, her apprentince Anton. He wore a grey disheleved robe with green linings. The faint brown stains on it stank through the room. 'From his shit,' Rana thought. 'That, and twelve years living like a rat.'
"Impossible. The last back-up we did was from over a thousand years ago." Albeit embarassing, this was the truth. None of the two bothered to back the server up. Over the course of a thousand years, many animals would have died, and the backup definitely won't be up-to-date at all. It's like making a backup of medivial technology and loading it into the age of globalism.
Rana hit the server in frustration again.

"Oh, shut up, I'm not even in the world!"
Anton sneered. "Please stop hitting the server. We still can use the system, but not with a broken pile of metal."
Rana moved her face threatenly close to Anton. "Do you want to get beaten up as well?"
Anton showed a fake smile and said, "No, of course not. Please proceed further."
"What would you do then?" Rana snapped at Anton.
Anton knead his chin. "Perhaps... we should let the AI manage the server. It would be down for a year, but we'd never have to worry about it again."
Rana beamed. "This is no problem at all. I can just create a couple of alternate universes and freeze this one. The AI can run rampant there if it needs to. I'll delete them afterwards."
A sweat drop trickled down Anton's face. Internally he shrieked. 'Are universes supposed to be that expandable?'
He slowly inhaled and calmed down. "Okay," He said, "all I need to set is the AI's goal."
"Make that the usual." Rana shrugged, and went back to her seat, now that all problems were solved. 'Maybe Anton wasn't too bad.' She thought. 'Even if we'd mess up here, there are a lot of other universes to balance the souls out. I should recommend him to the goddess, maybe I get to move and he can fill my stead.' She didn't want to stay here for another 30 millenas.
Anton stared at her back. His breath grew ragged, and internally he formed a plan. He would make the Ai's goal to merely observe the animals on this world, and no longer limit them. This will lead to a huge power spike to all the souls in this dimension, fragmenting the power balance between the universes. And once he left this server, he could frame her and get fame, maybe even be promoted to the goddess' assistant.
A grin escaped his else so controlled face, and he immediately got to work.
