Chapter 14: Hell

Chapter 14: Hell

“What,” Blaire yelled. “What do you mean I have to walk down the aisle with her?” Raven could hear her arguing with her father. He had to leave his spot to counsel her. The woman was throwing a fit. Raven was left standing there beside her. She was trying her best to ignore Blaire’s unnecessary temper tantrum. “No, I refuse, I walk down the aisle first to my husband then she walks down after me. I will not share the aisle with a pile of garbage by my side.”

“Garbage?, deep breaths, Raven, no need to kill her. She knows not what she says. She’s just a spoiled child.” Raven repeated these thoughts in her head. It was the only thing keeping her from ripping Blaire’s hair out. It was bad enough she was marrying Angel in front of her. Bad enough that she had to watch him kiss this woman. The urge to kill her was growing by the second the more she thought of Blaire marrying Angel. The more it upset her. She tried not to think about it but it was all she could think about. Angel kissing this ugly, spoiled rotten bitch. She tightened her hand into a fist.

“What’s the matter, got something to say wolf?” Blaire smirked. Raven didn’t reply after all. It wasn’t like she had anything nice to say to her. She wondered if the crowd would be upset if she tripped Blaire while she was walking down the aisle. Or, shoved her face in the cake then broke a glass plate over her head. She’d enjoy it. “Nothing? Figures,” She fixed her hair. “The point is, I refuse to walk down the aisle with her. So, fix it, now.”

“Sweetie, I can’t fix it,” Lord Alexander explained. “It’s what we decided when we agreed to share weddings. Lycan insisted that you walk down the aisle with this woman.” He motioned over to Raven. “It was the only way he would agree to do it. If he has to stand next to Angel and endure his presence. Then,” He ran his finger through her hair. “You should be willing to endure hers. You look beautiful and nothing will change that. So please, just endure it. It’s just one straight walk down the aisle and Angel will be thrilled to see you. As soon as it’s over, you will never have to see her again. So, please, for me, just endure it.”

“But father,” Blaire argued. “She’s a werewolf, look at her.” She motioned over to Raven. “She’s ugly, she smells and I hate her. She’s ruining my wedding just by being here.” Lord Alexander let out a deep sigh. “So, I’ll say it again, fix it.”

“Blaire, you don’t seem to understand. Your actions here today. Could gravely affect my chances of offering pea-,”

Wait, this wedding. So, that’s it, that’s why Lord Alexander insisted that their weddings be held together. He wanted to use this wedding as an example to show that werewolves and vampires can coexist. He’s offering peace. Raven could hardly believe it, Lord Alexander doesn’t want the war to continue. This wedding could put an end to the war.

“Peace,” Blaire laughed. “You want to offer peace to these creatures?” She yelled. “After all the people we’ve lost and all the people they’ve brutally murdered. You’re going to offer them peace, did Lord Grimm ever offer peace to us? No, I don’t think so. How dare you,” She glared into her father’s eyes. “Use my wedding as a way to offer peace to those filthy beasts. Go ahead, try to stop this war father, I dare you.”

“If this war continues, I will die, is that what you want?” Lord Alexander asked. “I’ve talked it over with Scythe. It’s either I die for my people or I offer peace so that I can live and continue to serve my people. If you and Lycan show that the two of you hold no ill will toward each other. It could be enough to convince my brother to let go of this grudge he bears toward the vampires. I’ve never wanted to fight my brother to begin with. He asked for this and now I’m trying once more to offer peace. Not just for me, but for all of us. The war has to stop, you have the power to stop it and I encourage you to do so.”

“No the war doesn’t have to stop,” Blaire shook her head. “You call yourself a King, you’re not a King, you’re a coward. But,” She let out a long deep sigh. “Considering everything you’ve done for me. Not to mention, how much it would hurt to lose my dear father. I guess I could endure this wedding and help you offer peace. It’s the least I can do,” She shrugged. “I’ll make you proud, father.” She hugged him. While she was hugging him. Raven noticed an evil grin form on Blaire’s lips.

“Thank you dear,” Lord Alexander held her tight. “You’d be saving so many lives including mine.” He smiled. “I love you and I know you’ll do what’s best for us all.” He kissed Blaire’s forehead and walked through the curtain.

“Oh, I plan to,” Blaire smirked. Raven wasn’t sure what Blaire had planned. But she knew Lord Alexander’s attempt at peace was going to fail miserably. Claire was right, the war wasn’t going to end. Blaire wasn’t going to allow it. “Well, turns out, I’m actually going to enjoy this wedding. Shall we?”

The music began to play, Blaire took the first step past the curtain. Blaire had her hair pinned up, her red lips were covered in the scent of cherries. She wore a fleece red veil covering face. She was wearing a red dress that reminded her of roses. She held a bouquet of red roses in her hands. Her red heels treaded lightly down the aisle taking each step nice and slow.

Raven began to walk down the aisle next to her. She had her long black hair pinned up and her navy blue eyes were looking to the ground. She was afraid to look up, afraid to see Angel standing there at the altar. Knowing full well, he’d be marrying Blaire. Still, her eyes betrayed her, she looked up and saw him.

Angel was standing there. He was wearing a black suit jacket with a red dress shirt, and a black tie. On the right side of his suit, he had on a red rose clip. He wore black slacks and black dress shoes. So, handsome, but it was his pale hazel eyes. She couldn’t bring herself to look away from. He was admiring her in her beautiful black wedding dress. As he was watching her walk down the aisle. She noticed a couple of tears forming in his eyes. He was smooth and smart enough to direct those tears to Blaire. But she knew those tears. They were meant for her. When she saw them.

Raven was glad Lycan insisted on her wearing a black veil. It made it easier for her to hide her tears. As her black heels got closer to the altar. It felt like stepping on glass. With each step cracks would form getting bigger and bigger. Except this glass was her heart being broken again and again. Still, she reminded herself of the decision she made.

Raven was going to marry Lycan and let Angel go forever so he could be King. That was what she was set on doing. So with each step, she knew what she had to do. She had to say goodbye to Angel and push back all of her feelings for him. With each step, she tried to erase the memories. She tried to erase the life she wanted with him. Each time she did, it hurt, it was like a knife in her chest getting deeper and deeper. But worst of all, it was the love she knew he had for her and all the love he could have given her. The pain of losing that and knowing, she’d never be able to feel that love again. That’s where it hurt most, that’s when the tears fell. She ran her finger across her eyes and forced a heavy swallow.

“I’m given to understand that neither couple has written any vows. So, we’ll go with-,” The man’s words came to a stop when Blaire glared at him. It was as if she was upset that he even thought to mention vows. Even Lycan was caught glaring at him. Very clear that both of them were in a hurry for the wedding to be over. Raven would expect no less from Lycan, he’s only doing this for his father. He doesn’t love her. “Okay, so,” The man cleared his throat. “I’ll just get on with it then.”

“Please do,” Blaire smiled. “The faster you get this over with. The faster my husband and I can move on to the honeymoon phase. Isn’t that right, Angel?” She ran her finger down his jawline and took hold of his tie bringing his lips close to hers. He casually took a step back keeping a few inches away from her. He adjusted his tie and nodded at the man to continue on with the wedding.

“Very well,” The man nodded. “We are gathered here today to unite these couples in holy matrimony. If there is anyone who would like to-,” Blaire and Lycan glared at him. He cleared his throat. “Okay, I guess, we’re skipping that part. Moving on,” He forced a smile. “Prince Lycan and Angel, we’ll start with you two. Do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife to have and to hold, in sickness and in health till death do you part?”

“Well seeing as she’s already tired to kill me once.” Lycan added. The werewolves started laughing at his joke. Even Angel was having a hard time not laughing at the joke. Though, Angel is the only person who knew. It wasn’t a joke. She has tried to kill him and she’s not sorry for it. He waited for the laughter to cease then answered. “I do,” He slid the wedding band on Raven’s finger.

“I do,” Angel took out a ring band and slid it on Blaire’s finger. Raven could see behind him. His fingers were crossed as if to cancel out his lie. She was the only one who caught it aside from her brother Ziek. Angel’s best man. He smirked when he saw him do it.

“Now for the brides,” The man shifted his gaze over to Raven and then to Blaire. “Princess Blaire and Raven, do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband to have to hold, in sickness and in health till death do you part?”

“I do,” Blaire’s lips formed a smile as she slid the wedding band on Angel’s finger.

“I do,” Raven answered. She slid the wedding band on Lycan’s finger. Her promise, now bound to him. As she slid on the band, she never once looked in Angel’s direction. She couldn’t stand to look into his eyes knowing this promise wasn’t a lie. She fully intended to marry Lycan unlike Angel who was still committed to her. That would change once he became King. He’ll get over her. He had to for the sake of the vampires.

“Well then, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.” The man closed his bible. Blaire grabbed Angel’s tie and forced their lips together. In order to show Angel her intentions, Raven grabbed Lycan by the back of his neck and kissed him. Once Angel’s kiss with Blaire faded she made sure to still be kissing Lycan. She wanted him to see that this wasn’t temporary. This marriage wasn’t a ruse, it was real. She’s Lycan’s wife and she’s going to commit to that so Angel could have his place on the throne.

Once Angel saw the kiss, Raven separated her lips from Lycan’s. She refused to look over at him knowing he knew. She couldn’t stand to see his heart being crushed right in front of her not knowing she was one who caused it. He stood there clueless but now that he knew. She knew it was over, he’d never forgive for this. But in time, he’ll see she did this for him. Perhaps, this pain she caused him will give him the strength he needs to leave her.

Everyone outside was clapping. The female werewolves all gathered to catch the banquet in Raven’s hands. She expected to see Claire in the line up fully intending to throw it to her. However, she was in the very back, her eyes filled with such anger. Claire was still mad at her over the fact that. She chose to go through with the wedding and let go of Angel. Still, it was her choice to make and her sister just had to -Huh?-

“Now that’s over with,” Blaire created a sword from diamond. She swung the blade at Raven. Before she realized what Blaire was doing. The blade was already too close for her to dodge it. She gasped as the sharp blade came for her neck. She noticed Angel start to react before he could. Lycan tackled Raven to the ground. The impact caused her to drop the black roses all over the floor. He cringed as blood dripped down his back. The gash on his back was huge but he saved her life. “Whoops, must have slipped.”

“I’ll kill you,” Lycan yelled. He grabbed Blaire by the throat and lifted her into the air. He bared his sharp canines at her. He drew his head back prepared to bite her. Once he bit her, his werewolf venom would kill her. Before he could sink his teeth in her, Lord Alexander surrounded his daughter in diamond in order to protect her.

“Not this time, brother,” Lord Grimm backhanded Lord Alexander. The force of the attack sent him flying into the chairs. “You wanted to try to claim peace. Well, it seems to me, peace was not the goal here. This was assaination attempt on my son and his wife. The war will continue after I kill your daughter, you try to kill mine, I’ll kill yours.” He walked over to Blaire. “My brother’s diamond can’t save you from me, little girl.” He bared his canines. “I’ll bite right through it.” Blaire kicked Lycan back and picked up her sword.

“Oh, I’m going to enjoy this.” Blaire glanced over at Lycan and Lord Grimm. “I get the opportunity to kill both of you. But first, let’s even the odds. Shall we? ” She snapped her fingers. A flask of blood flew at Lord Grimm and exploded. The explosion blinded him while he was blinded and an entire group of vampires ganged up on him.

“Don’t worry Patience, I’ll save you.” Brandon yelled. He grabbed the girl who was sitting next to him and covered her up in a hug. “I’m not losing you again, I’m not losing you again, I’m not losing you again, I’m not-,” He repeated these words over and over again.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

“That’s not my name,” The girl yelled.

“Shut up, Patience, I’m saving you.” Brandon picked her up and moved her away from the fighting. “Shit,” He screamed as the both of the twins tackled him. He dropped the girl and she took off running. “No, get back here, Patience, I’m trying to save you.”

“I told you that’s not-,” She gasped as Alejandro stood in front of her. She backed up slowly. He began to growl at her menacingly. “Okay I’m Patience, save me,” She ran over to Brandon and got behind him.

"Damn it, if Brandon's armor breaks, he's screwed." Ziek bit his lip. "The sun's out, he'll burn to death. Don't worry, Brandon, I'm coming." He jumped toward Brandon helping him fight off the werewolves. He was using anything and everything he could find as a weapon. Raven saw Claire in the back, staying away from the fighting trying not to get pulled in.

“Let’s go,” Angel took Raven’s hand. She couldn’t believe it, a huge fight just broke out at the wedding. Everyone was fighting each other, it was like a full out war right outside and happening in front of her. Chairs were flying, explosions everywhere, diamond shards flying through the air like missiles, exploding on impact. She wasn’t sure what to do, the fighting was taking place everywhere. She finally agreed to come with Angel, somewhere safe and away from all the fighting.

“We need to talk,” Angel brought her over to a field full of flowers. He had his hands placed into his pockets as he walked. Once, he was sure they were far enough away to where no one would see them together. He turned around and faced her. “What’s with the kiss?” He asked, almost as if he was angry at her. “You deliberately kissed him in front of me and made sure I caught it. I get it,” He threw his hands up. “It’s a wedding. You were supposed to marry Lycan for the sake of our cover. But did you have to prolong the kiss like that? It’s like you were purposely trying to hurt me.”

“It’s a wedding, my wedding,” Raven pointed at herself. “I can kiss Lycan how I want after all he’s my husband and that’s who I chose. It wasn’t an act, I wasn’t marrying him for our cover. I married him so you could be King. I overheard Blaire talking,” She let out a sigh. “She says her father wants you to be King and, I think you should take it.” Angel laughed.

“That’s what this is about?” Angel ran his hand through his hair. “So, you want me to forget about us, forget about you and just be King. Something, I don’t even want Raven, I want you, you’re enough for me. So why would you-,” He shook his head. “You kiss him in front of me like that and now you want to-,” He began pacing back and forth. “No, you can’t do that, no, you don’t get to make my decisions for me.”

“I do when you’re making the wrong decision.” Raven argued. “You’re being given an opportunity to be a King. To rule over all the vampires, to have their respect, and so much more. Let’s face it, Blaire can’t hurt you if you’re the chosen heir. Lord Alexander won’t let her, It’s no contest I can’t compete with the throne, Angel. So please just take it and forget about me.” She kissed his cheek and walked away.

“Why do you do this to yourself?” Angel asked, Raven stopped and faced him. “You constantly underestimate how much you mean to me. You mean far more to me than any throne. I’ve told you, you’re everything to me so nothing can compete with you. If you want to break up with me. You can. I’m not going to stop you but if you think this is for me. Then,” He took a deep breath trying to hold back tears. “You’re wrong. I didn’t choose the throne, I chose you and I will always choose you. Even when everyone else is telling me I shouldn’t, I will. I don’t care if that makes me stupid or if it gets me killed. Because to me. It’s not, it just means that I-,”

There it was. Curse him for doing this again. The “I” and the long pause that follows it. Raven didn’t like it when he did this. Maybe, it’s because she knows what follows it. She knows what he wants to say but for some reason. The words that follow never come out. But damn it, she knew the words and it’s because of those words. She couldn’t bring herself to leave him, she loves him. Even when she’s trying to do what’s best for him, it’s those words that stop her. One day, she’d get to hear them but if she left. She never will.

“Angel, why?” Raven walked over to him. “It’s obvious what you should do. You’re making the wrong choice. Don’t you get it? I, I already hurt you once, I left you to deal with Blaire and all that shit so I could do what I wanted. While I was out, following my dream, you were left suffering trying to pick up the pieces I left behind. Now, it’s my turn,” She pointed at herself. “to pick up those pieces so please let me do this for you.” She hugged him. “You deserve to be King, if I can give you that, then I beg of you to let me.”

“No, I didn’t do what I did so you could repay me.” Angel placed his knuckle underneath her chin and made her look up at him. “I did that because I care about you enough to do it. I know you want to do the same for me. But, there’s no need to,” He held her close. “I would never want you to do something like that for me. Even if you decide to break up with me, I know,” He brought his lips to her ear. “A part of me will always be here.” He pointed at her heart. “You said it yourself, you love me, I know you still do, I can feel it.” He reached into his pocket and handed her a pill bottle. “Don’t give up on us just yet, I’m close to finding the answers we need so just bear with me okay? I want to be with you and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make this work. So, please,” He took hold of her hand and kissed it. “Stay with me so we can be together in the end. That’s all I want, that’s my dream. So please, don’t let this be it.”

“You’re sure?” Raven asked. He nodded. “You’re willing to throw away the throne, the crown, the adoration, the power, all of it. For me,” She pointed at herself. “Are you sure that’s what you want to do? Once you do this, there’s no take backs, you can’t go back on this moment and decide you want to be king. Because, they’ll eventually figure it out and-,”

“Raven, see for yourself.” Angel pointed at the pill bottle in her hand. She read over the label it read: “Sun Repellant XI”. How did he get his hands on this? Surely, Blaire wasn’t foolish enough to let Angel have this. By having this bottle, he had enough Sun Repellant to disappear for several months. He could be free of Blaire. “I’ve already decided, hard to be King after stealing something like that. Even worse is, I gave it to you. So,” He smirked. “Does that answer your question?”

“You are the dumbest man I have ever met but,” Raven wrapped her arm around him. “I can’t help but love you for it. I guess, that makes us both stupid.” She pressed her lips against his. “I love you and we’ll get through this. No more break ups.”

“Good,” Angel kissed her. “Because,” He pressed his lips against the side of her neck. “Blaire told me, she wasn’t going to stick around. We’re basically having sex and after that she’s leaving. Not much of a honeymoon if you ask me.”

“Right, so,” Raven stepped away from him. “How is you having sex with Blaire going to convince me of anything? You know, I’m not happy you two are fooling around. That fact pisses me off to no end. So, why would you-,”

“You’re missing the point,” Angel replied. “Blaire’s gone, she’s leaving to discuss the war with her father. She won’t be back for a long time if at all. Which means,” He put his hands in his pockets. “I’ll have the honeymoon suite to myself all night long. No visitors and more importantly, no interruptions. I’ll be all alone left unattended with no guards, no nothing, just me in a room by myself. Which means, you could come by and nobody would know.”

“Really,” Raven smiled. “So, I could just-,” She walked up to him. “Come by and we could have our own little honeymoon. Just you, me, a nice warm bed, and a shower. I think I can fit that in my schedule, but, where’s the honeymoon at?”

“That’s the best part, it’s on an island.” Angel smirked. “We’ll have a whole island to ourselves with a beach, a nice beach house.” Raven was confused. How is she going to cross the ocean in order to see him? Where was she going to find a boat to do that? Did he expect her to swim across the ocean? What did he want her to do? This wasn’t going to work.

“Um, ugh, you said island.” Raven pointed out. “You see, there’s this thing called water that surrounds an island making it hard for people to cross. So, it’s kind of impossible for me to see you under those circumstances. I’m not a werefish, I’m a werewolf, Angel,” She yelled. “I need a boat in order to cross the ocean.” She put her hands on her hips. “Dumbass.” She shook her head at him.

“Actually,” Angel laughed. “I think a werefish would be called a mermaid.” Raven glared at him. “What?” He shrugged. “It’s true,”

“Don’t correct me,” Raven scolded. She pointed a sharp finger at him. He laughed and pressed his lips gently on her cheek.

“Okay, call it what you want,” Angel allowed. “However, you should know it’s not an ocean you need to cross. More like..a fence.” He explained. “The island we’re having our honeymoon on. Is the same island you and Lycan will be using for your honeymoon. It’s a huge island shared by Lord Alexander and Lord Grimm. They used to play there as kids before the war started. After the war started, it was entrusted to their kids. They just made a slight change to it to fit the events. That change being a steel fence that divides the island in half. A fence that can be climbed.” He glanced over at her. “You’re a werewolf climbing is sort of your thing, so I figured you could climb over it and come see me.”

“See, that.” Raven smiled. “I can do.” She kissed him on the cheek. “Sorry, I called you a dumbass.” She hugged him.

“Apology accepted.” Angel brushed her hair to the side of her face. “Let’s get back before people start to notice we’ve left.” He took hold of her hand. Together, they returned to the wedding, the fighting was still going on. It was like a war just broke out in the middle of the wedding. Chairs were being thrown. Tables being broken. It was just absolute chaos. Raven couldn’t even begin to make sense of it.

“Enough of this,”

Raven watched as a woman with glowing pink hair walked slowly over to all the fighting. She was wearing a white dress. She had a glowing pink corsage on her right wrist. As the woman walked, she could see a large sum of electricity gathering up around her. It was like the woman was a walking… lightning rod. She snapped her fingers, several lighting bolts shot off her body. Each bolt tethering to a person and allowing her to lift them using the lighting around their bodies. She had everyone who was fighting lifted up into the air. Doing so, effortlessly. In the middle of the fighting was a girl wearing a white dress. She was curled up in a ball. Her body was shrouded in fear. She had platinum blonde hair and pale blue eyes.

“Stop fighting,” The woman snapped her fingers. The lighting around them exploded and blasted everyone back. The girl ran over to her and quickly got behind her for protection. Everyone began to get back on their feet after being blasted back.

“You dare,” Lord Grimm charged at her. The woman glared at him. He instantly backed down. So even he was afraid to fight her. Lord Alexander was standing beside him. He was equally upset by the woman’s intrusion. But for some reason both of them were being cautious, neither of them eager to attack her.

“You’ll have your war but not at the expense of our people.” The woman pointed over at a little girl who was hiding underneath a table. The first thing Raven noticed was that this young girl was human and a child. No less than five or six. The little girl ran over to the woman and hugged her leg as a way to thank her. There was another woman, she had black hair with blue tips. She was holding a golden trident and taking a defensive stance protecting a dome of ice. Inside it were a bunch of humans, she was protecting them from all the fighting.

“You got the wedding,” The woman glared at both Kings. “Now, you can have your war,” She urged the woman to her side. The woman knocked on the ice dome lightly, the ice shattered and she walked over to her. The group of humans followed her. “Save your anger and your bullshit for that.”

“Well put,” The man placed his hand on her shoulder. “I think it’s time we left. Leave them to clean up this mess.” He motioned to all the broken chairs and tables. The food on the grass, craters in the ground. Diamond shards everywhere. “Shall we?”

Raven watched as the woman left with the man she assumed to be their leader. The woman with the trident was staying in the back. The two of them were protecting the humans they brought to spectate the wedding. The little girl was now holding the hand of the platinum blonde girl walking back with her.

“So ugh,” Raven walked over to Lord Grimm. She was helping him dust himself off after being blasted by lightning. “Who was that woman, why is she helping the humans and how come you never told me about them? Like, did you see what she did just now? She stopped all the fighting by herself. She’s a badass, I like her.”

“She’s also a vampire, ” Lord Grimm adjusted his tie. “So, I’d refrain from giving her any credit. Hell, she’s even a traitor to her own kind. A person like that deserves no credit. If only my brother wasn’t so soft. If it were me, I would have killed her a long time ago. In fact, I tried.” He smirked. “Unlike you,” He glared at his brother. “You used this wedding as a way to offer peace and I was going to consider it but seeing as your daughter.” He glanced over at Blaire. “Chose to use this wedding to attack my son’s wife. You can see why I no longer wish to take your offer. There will be no peace, Come,” The werewolves gathered around him. “We’re leaving,” The wolves nodded. “Son,” He turned his attention to Lycan. “Enjoy your honeymoon. Don’t be gone long, we’ve got a war to finish.”

“I don’t plan to be,” Lycan glared at Blaire. “Mark my words, you will die for trying to kill my wife.” The two of them glared into each other’s eyes. Neither one backing down, Lycan’s lips formed a devilish smirk. “Perhaps, I should kill your husband,” He glanced over at Angel. Angel stood there in silence holding Blaire’s hand. “Seeing as you tried to kill my wife. Fair is fair right? I’ll tell you what,” He walked up to Blaire. “I’ll let you watch as I rip out his heart.” He smiled at Angel. It amazed her how even after Lycan threatened him. Angel remained perfectly calm and collected. Like, he wasn’t worried about Lycan attacking him at all. She wasn’t even sure how that fight would go. Sure, Angel was strong but she’s seen how skilled Lycan is. She saw first hand how fast he was. “I’ll be seeing you very soon.” He bared his canines at Angel.

“Let’s hope so,” Angel smirked. “I’d enjoy fighting you very much, Prince Lycan. As Prince of the Vampires it seems only fit that we fight each other. To show which of us is the better Prince. If it be to the death then,” He shrugged. “So be it. Just know, I have no intention of letting my people down. So if it’s a fight you want, it’s a fight you’ll get. Now if you’ll excuse me,” He kissed Blaire’s hand. “We just got married, I’d very much like to check out the honeymoon suite.” He walked off taking Blaire with him.

“Let’s go, dearest,” Lycan took Raven’s hand. “This place reeks of vampires.” Raven’s navy blue eyes lingered on the one table that was left standing. The same table that little girl was hiding underneath. She related to that little girl. When the fighting broke out, she wasn’t sure where she stood. If she fought with the werewolves, she was protecting her sister. But she’d lose Angel and her brother. If she tried to help Angel or her brother, her sister would die. She wasn’t sure what to do or who to help. All she wanted to do was hide. Find the nearest table and hide underneath it and wish the fighting would stop. Sadly, nothing was ever that simple.
