Together, the two sisters Raven and Claire proceeded into the forest of wolves. They could see several werewolf scouts on patrol. Some were hiding among the many trees that surrounded them. Raven continued to follow the scent of wolves, she figured the stronger the scent the closer she was to finding Lord Grimm.
“Raven,” Claire stopped. “We’re getting deeper into the forest, I should have probably told you this before but. I didn’t think it would stop you.” She turned to face her sister. “Jay said that vampires tend to attack here.” It was hard for her to even imagine vampires attacking here with all these werewolf scouts lurking the area. Unless they found some way to conceal themselves from the scouts, it would be impossible.
“Are you sure?” Raven wondered. “What if Jay told you that to make you reconsider going?” She crossed her arms. “Still, it wouldn’t hurt to be cautious. There is a chance Jay’s right, he’s not exactly known for being wrong.”
“My thoughts exactly,” Claire walked beside her. “Let’s keep our guard up just to be safe.” Raven unleashed her claws carrying on into the forest with her sister. While they walked together, she listened to sounds of the forest, birds chirping, several rabbits scurrying about nothing out of the ordinary. She sniffed the air, the trees smelled of pine, the air carried the scent of wolves, they were getting closer.
Meanwhile, Patience continued through the forest making haste toward Lord Grimm’s castle. Her stomach started to rumble and ache for nourishment. She stopped to settle her hunger. She knew better than to feed, if she did, it would make her death more painful. Her death would be guaranteed the moment she came face to face with Lord Grimm. He would show her no mercy, she’d disappear just like her sister Selene wanted.
Patience glanced behind a tree to check for any more scouts. She owed a lot to the cursed tag that Angel made for her for emergencies. The tag once placed on any part of her body blocked out her scent. That topped with her special perfume that caused her to share the exact same scent as a werewolf made it easy for her to get past the scouts.
“All clear,” Patience let out a sigh of relief. The curse on her forearm faded, she made it just in time. She went to reapply a stronger dose of her perfume. Her stomach started to ache once more. She couldn’t allow herself to feed. She wanted her death to be quick and painless for that to happen she had to be in a weak state. If only her body understood that, she settled her stomach. “I’d better hurry,” She knew if she didn’t Brandon would catch up to her. If he were to get caught up in this, he would die as well. – Huh? – Patience felt a hand grab her shoulder. This hand, it was Brandon’s.
“Patience,” Brandon pulled her to his chest. “What were you thinking running off by yourself like that?” He hugged her. “You had me worried sick, I thought that I was going to lose you.” She took notice of the curse which faded on his forearm. Angel must have given him a tag as well.
“I’m sorry,” Patience apologized. “Selene was right about me. I’m only causing you and Selene trouble. I can’t be strong like either of you.” She stepped back. “I should just disappear like she said, it’s what’s best for you and her.”
“What are you saying?” Brandon asked. “You might not be the best when it comes to combat. You are the best healer we have. Who’s going to heal me after I get into a fight with Ziek if not you?” He offered. “I seriously doubt Selene will besides she’s not as good at healing as you are.” That’s true, Patience’s lips formed a smile. “Now forget what Selene said who cares what she thinks. I sure don’t.” He reached into his coat pocket. “Now drink up,” He held out a blood pack. “I’m going to need you at full strength if we’re going to succeed in the mission.”
“Thank you,” Patience accepted the blood pack. She opened it, taking a few drinks of it. “You should probably lead the way while I recover.” She continued to drink from the blood pack while Brandon proceeded further into the forest. The scouts were nowhere in sight, so luckily for her the scent of blood wouldn’t reach their keen noses. Still, she couldn’t deny the fact that Brandon is heading toward his death.
Patience could fess up and tell him the werewolf killing medicine wasn’t ready but even so. Could they make it back to the castle? The curse tags were gone which meant they could be detected by the scouts. The scouts would inform the nearest pack with a loud howl, even if they killed the scouts. One of the werewolf packs would arrive and together they couldn’t take on an entire pack. No matter what she did, this path led to death.
Patience could at least save her brother from this fate. She just needed to make it seem as if she was acting alone. The wolves would kill her and only her. If her death meant saving her brother’s life then. She was more than willing to make that sacrifice.
“Forgive me,” Patience coated her hands in a green aura. She quickly touched Brandon’s knees from behind. In an instant Brandon collapsed to his knees trying to move. The paralysis should hold him long enough for her to do what needed to be done to save him. “I’m sorry I dragged you into this but,” She closed her eyes. “This mission was doomed to fail from the start. The medicine was never complete. I was ready to disappear just as Selene wanted. I mean let’s face it, both of you are better off without me holding you back.”
“Patience, what are you doing?” Brandon argued. “Why did you use your paralysis on me?” She started to walk ahead of him. “No, Patience you can’t. Listen to me, don’t you dare do this,” He punched the ground. “Don’t even think about dying to save me. I can protect both of us,” She patted him on the head. “Patience please,” His pale brown eyes started to fill with tears. “Don’t do this. I need you, you’re my big sister.”
“I’m sorry but,” Patience clinched her hand into a fist. “I have to go.” She dropped the empty blood pack on the floor. “Don’t worry,” She flashed him a smile. “I’ll be back soon.” This was of course a lie. Patience was prepared to die. This is why she came here to begin with. The original plan was to die to satisfy her sister but dying to save her brother, this seemed like a better way to go.
“Damn it,” Brandon tried to move but it was no use. He could only watch as his sister rushed toward her death. The sight of her fading the further she got, he tried to reach out for her. she was gone, his sister was gone. “Patience,” He punched the ground, his fist trembled as tears dripped from his eyes...
“This smell,” Raven stopped dead in her tracks. She sniffed the air, this was the scent of blood. She remembered it from her training. The scent of blood is a strong indicator that a vampire is nearby. “Claire, do you smell that?” Her sister sniffed the air.
“I don’t smell anything,” Claire answered. “The only thing I can smell is pine from the forest. Why would you ask that?” Raven’s eyes trailed the forest. “Are you even listening to-,” She held her hand out to silence her sister. She could hear rustling in the trees, there’s someone else here in the forest. It was too far out to be a werewolf scout, it had to be something else. “I just asked you a question,” She yelled. “Why are you ignoring me?”
“I caught the scent of blood earlier,” Raven answered. “Blood means,” She waited for her sister to fill in the blanks.
“Vampire,” Claire replied. “It could also mean wounded werewolf. We have been in this forest for almost three hours. We have yet to detect any vampires. I highly doubt we would detect one now. Especially when Lord Grimm’s castle is right there.” She pointed at the highest mountain in the forest. What makes her think the castle is located there? “We need to hurry before we get into anymore-,” Raven caught the sight of pink racing passed the trees. She bared her fangs chasing after it. “There you go again ignoring me,” Claire complained. “You are such a pain.”
Raven continued to chase the figure through the forest. She raced passed the trees jumping over the roots. The pink figure continued to run from her, she broke into a sprint gaining on her. Just as she predicted, she could smell the faint scent of blood. This figure had to be a vampire, no mistaking it. She would catch her and find out exactly why she was in their forest. She climbed up a tree using her claws jumping tree branch to tree branch. She crouched down hiding in the tree’s bushes. Her navy-blue eyes watched the blonde vampire beneath her waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike her down.
“Where’d she go?” The vampire turned around searching for her. “She was tailing me just a second ago.” She let out a sigh of relief. “I must have lost her,” The vampire prepared to walk away. Raven jumped on top of her holding her claws to her throat. “Persistent wolf,” She kicked her off, Raven rose to her feet dusting herself off. “You dare attack me like that,” She rose to her feet. “Do you have any idea who you are dealing with?”
“Raven, stop,” Claire burst out of the trees. She rested her palms on her knees breathing heavy. “She might be a messenger for Lord Alexander.” She explained. A messenger? Raven glanced over at the vampire. “We aren’t allowed to attack messengers, they are considered a neutral party. They don’t attack our messenger’s, we don’t attack theirs. If we do, it’ll be breaking the contract of war.”
“That’s right,” The vampire dusted herself off. “I’m a messenger, I’m here to deliver a message from Lord Alexander.” She explained. “I will look past this transgression if you agree to walk away right now. That or I could tell your Lord that his werewolves aren’t following the guidelines. I’m sure you wouldn’t want that now, would you?”
“No need for that,” Claire faked a laugh. “This was just a big misunderstanding. You see my sister here,” She placed her hands-on top Raven’s shoulders. “She can be a bit reckless sometimes.” Raven wasn’t buying the whole messenger act. This vampire had to rank much higher than messenger. “We’ll just be going now,” Claire began pushing Raven away from the vampire. The vampire started to leave, Raven tightened her hand into a fist.
“Bullshit,” Raven’s navy-blue eyes glared at the vampire. The vampire stopped and turned to face her. There is just no way this vampire was a mere messenger. Her eyes trailed the vampire’s figure. She was dressed in a pink long sleeved shirt. She wore faded blue jeans with floral designs. Her body appeared to be physically fit far too fit to be ranked as a messenger.
“Sister,” Claire whispered to her. “What are you doing?” She gripped her arm. “She’s a messenger, we aren’t allowed to hurt her. Besides, even if she weren’t. Do you think it’s wise to fight her? We have no idea how strong she is.” She reasoned.
“Excuse me,” The vampire turned to face her. “Are you calling me a liar?” She chuckled. “If you were smart, you’d listen to your friend over there.” That settles it, this vampire couldn’t be a messenger. No messenger would have provoked her. She had to be of a different rank.
“That’s exactly what I’m calling you.” Raven removed her grey hair tie from her wrist. “Claire,” She began tying her raven hair up into a ponytail. “You might want to stand back and let me handle this.”
“Have you lost your mind?” Claire argued. “I’m not about to let you fight her. Forget it. It’s out of the question. We should retreat and,” Raven placed her hand on her sister’s shoulder. “This is insane, you don’t even-,”
“I need this,” Raven explained. “I know she’s not a messenger. That means she must be here to take out Lord Grimm. If I defeat her,” Claire went to speak, Raven covered her mouth. “If I defeat her,” She repeated. “This will be a huge win for us. The deck is stacked against me. The chances of Lord Grimm helping me with my Lycan problem is slim at best.” She pointed out. “By defeating her and stopping her from reaching Lord Grimm. It would stack the deck more in my favor, I need that right now. So please let me handle this.” Raven uncovered Claire’s mouth.
“Fine,” Claire allowed. “I’ll let you fight her but.” She pointed at her. “The moment I see you struggling to defeat her. I’m going to get the scouts. Understood?” Raven replied with a nod. “Be careful.” She stepped back.

“Alright filthy leech, cut the bullshit.” Raven tightened her hand into a fist. “There’s no way you’re a messenger. If you were there would have been no need for you to run from me like you did. What rank are you really?” The vampire chuckled.
“Well you caught me,” She put her hands on her hips. “You’re right I’m not a messenger. The truth is I’m a healer. I’m here in order to,” She drew a line across her neck with her index finger. “Take out your precious Lord. Now is the time to ask yourself,” She smirked. “Do I really want to fight a vampire that is targeting my leader?”
“I have, and the answer is yes,” Raven replied. “I don’t just want to fight her. I want to kill her for even thinking she stood a chance at fighting our leader.” She walked forward. “Any last words before I kick your ass.”
“You seem confident,” She chuckled. “That’s good it’s going to make it more interesting when I turn you into a fur coat. Now before I kill you, why don’t you tell me a little about yourself? First, what’s your rank? I told you mine it’s only fair you tell me yours.” Raven growled at her. She just knew this vampire was going to mock her.
“Omega,” She answered. “Don’t let my rank fool you. I’m much stronger than I look.” She held her fists up getting in a defensive stance.
“Is that so,” She pulled out a pink hair tie tying her blonde hair up in a ponytail. “My name is Patience and rest assured. I’m a lot stronger than I appear. This is something you will find out first hand.” She disappeared, Raven started to search for her. Out of nowhere, Raven felt a powerful kick strike her. She blocked her leg, knocking it aside. Raven quickly spun punching her in the jaw. The vampire stumbled back, Raven struck her with a powerful roundhouse kick causing her to tumble across the grass.
Raven held up her fists preparing for Patience’s next move. The vampire charged at her, she blocked her attacks parrying her third strike. She countered striking her with several punches to the chest. Patience tried to counter, Raven ducked her kick catching her with a swift leg sweep. While she was stumbling to regain composure, Raven struck her with a summersault. The impact knocked Patience to the ground. Raven landed perfectly on her feet holding her fists up to attack. This vampire her moves were filled with grace but her fighting style was more for show. This made her attacks less effective and easy for an experienced fighter like her to predict.
“Not bad,” Patience rose to her feet. “For an Omega, you have great reflexes. Unfortunately for you,” She coated her hand in a light blue aura. -What is that?!- The aura started to treat the wounds created by her strikes. That’s right, she’s a healer. This wasn’t going to be as easy as she had hoped. “I’m just getting started.” She vanished, Raven blocked her strike only to notice a light green aura on her hands. -Huh?!- She felt her right arm go numb like it had been paralyzed. Patience swift kicked Raven into a tree.
The moment Raven was forced up against the tree. Patience’s strikes became more ruthless, she tried to block but she could only use her left arm to defend. Finally, Raven moved out of the way clenching her right arm. Why couldn’t she move it? Raven continued trying to force her arm to move but it was no use.
“What’s the matter?” Patience started to approach her. Raven stepped back, she couldn’t fight her not in this condition. “Can’t move your arm?” She tried to kick her, Raven dodged the attack keeping her distance. “Not to worry, soon your whole body won’t be able to move.” She coated her hand in a light green aura. “It will be like dissecting a frog.” She chuckled. “Only in this case it’ll be a werewolf instead.” That light green aura it inflicts paralysis to whatever part of the body she touches.
“Cheap trick,” Raven evaded Patience’s attack. “It’s going to take more than that to beat me.” She revealed her claws swiping at her, Patience evaded but. Raven’s claws created several gashes in her shirt. She continued trying to cut her with her claws, Patience avoided her attacks. She countered by placing her hand on Raven’s knee. In an instant, Raven fell to the floor, her left leg had been paralyzed. Damn it, she got her again. Raven tried to move, but it was no good. Patience struck her with a powerful kick to the stomach knocking the wind out of her.
“This fight was over long before it began.” Patience tried to kick her again, Raven dug her claws into her leg holding it in place. “How do you intend to fight me, if you can’t even move? It’s pointless.” Raven started to force herself to stand up, this wasn’t over not by a long shot.
“Don’t ever underestimate me,” Raven drew her right arm back forcing it to move. She struck Patience in the jaw. She grabbed Patience by the ponytail spinning her around like a merry go round until her hair ripped. Patience’s body broke through several trees demolishing every tree she hit.
“Ouch,” Claire grabbed the back of her hair. Raven let go of the blonde strands of Patience’s hair that remained in her hand. She clinched her leg as constant aches began to torment her. These aches, they must be from the paralysis. Raven dropped to her knees holding her leg. She powered through the constant aches preparing to finish off the vampire.
“It’s not over yet,” Patience’s body lied there against a tree. The strands of her blond were torn. “I won’t die like this,” Her entire body started to emit a light blue aura. The wounds that covered her body started to heal at rapid speeds. “I will not be defeated by a weak Omega like you.” How did she recover so quickly? Raven started to evade her attacks, Patience’s attacks were geared toward inflicting paralysis. She couldn’t let a single attack land. Raven swiped at her with her sharp claws to her amazement Patience didn’t bother to dodge. The gash from her claws healed instantly. She was healing so fast she couldn’t hurt her.
“Damn it,” Raven continued to evade her attacks. She began studying her opponent’s attack patterns hoping to find a weak point to her enhanced regeneration rate. She tried cutting at her with claws in several different areas. Every wound healed at the exact same speed. There were no weak spots. How could she defeat her if she couldn’t hurt her? “Come on think,” Patience’s attacks were starting to get faster. Raven was struggling to keep up. There had to be something her brother Eric taught her that would help her out.
“There,” Patience struck Raven’s right leg. Shit, Raven tried to move her legs, they wouldn’t move. “It’s over,” She continued to strike Raven at rapid speeds. Raven felt her every strike paralyzing her body making it even harder for her to move. She struck Raven with a leg sweep catching her by the ankle. “You’re finished wolf,” She threw Raven by her ankle causing her body to crash into a tree. “Any last words,” She started walking toward her. It was no use, Raven couldn’t move. She was running out of options, there was no guarantee that this would break her free of the paralysis, regardless she had to try.
Raven’s sharp canines began to grow. The bones in her body began snapping out of the place. Her every muscle started to expand. Thick black fur began to cover her body, the shape of her face shifted matching that of a ferocious wolf. Her bones continued to snap, her sharp claws grew longer. Her navy-blue eyes changed into a luminous white. She let out a fierce howl standing over her. Raven’s thoughts began to fade as an uncontrollable rage set in. She swiped at Patience with her claws relentlessly. The effects of the paralysis were now overpowered by her transformation just as she had hoped.
“So fast,” Patience tried to dodge her but the attacks wouldn’t stop. Gashes continued to appear on her body one after another. She used her enhanced regeneration to withstand the damage. Trouble is, she wasn’t healing fast enough. The werewolf clinched onto Patience’s shoulder with her sharp fangs ramming her body through many trees. She started to get back on her feet.
The wolf appeared in the air above her prepared to crush her ribs with the massive weight of her body. Patience jumped out of the way, the sheer power behind the landing created a massive crater in the ground. The force alone was enough to send Patience tumbling across the ground. The enraged wolf swatted Patience knocking her through more trees. The wolf started to charge at her.
Patience fought to move, she couldn’t. The damages caused to her body were too severe. Her ribs were shattered, her skull cracked by the force of her attacks. The boosted regeneration rate continued to heal the damages but it wasn’t fast enough. She had lost so much blood, she struggled just to maintain the ability. The worst damage of all was the black bite mark located on her shoulder. The werewolf’s venom had entered her body, it was only a matter of minutes before this poison claimed her life. There was no way for her to cure it either. No matter what she did, Patience was going to die. She had only one option left. She pulled out the werewolf killing medicine. Patience could take this wolf with her.
“Alright filthy wolf, let’s finish this.” Patience started to heal her wounds just enough for her to stand. The wolf went to bite her, she dodged at the last second, Patience cloaked her hand in a glowing white aura. “Now,” She struck the wolf in the chest, the aura began to reverse the effects of Raven’s werewolf transformation forcing her back into human form. “It worked,” Patience collapsed to her knees healing herself once more.
“Son of a,” Raven cried out in agony. Her bones snapped back in place, the unexpected change left her lying there in pain. Her muscles felt as they were being compressed inside her body causing constant aches. “What was,” She tried to get back on her feet, it hurt to move. “What did you do to me?”
“It’s a new technique I developed,” Patience rose to her feet. “I nullified your werewolf transformation causing you to return to your human self.” She limped over to her holding the werewolf killing meds. The omega would no longer be able to move all she had to do was give her meds. Once she was rendered unconscious, Patience could finish her off. While she was trying to move, Patience collapsed the ground blood dripping from her lips. Her body, she wasn’t going to hold out much longer. Her boosted regeneration rate was used up in order to use that technique on her. She struggled to heal but the effects were weak all she could do was numb the pain. She’s at her limit.
“Impossible,” Patience’s lips parted, Raven forced herself to stand. How could she be standing after being forced out of transformation? The amount of pain coursing through her body should have immobilized her for several minutes. “How are you able to move?” She wondered.
“If there’s one thing you’re going to learn about me,” Raven clinched her stomach limping toward her. The amount of pain she was facing was unreal. Her body was begging her to quit but she wouldn’t not until she beat this vampire. “It’s that,” Her navy-blue eyes formed a piercing glare. “I’m one stubborn bitch.”
“Fine then,” Patience forced herself to stand. “This time I will make sure you stay down.” She forced herself to run just as she was about to strike. Raven held out a sharp stick stabbing her directly in the heart. “Where did,” She looked around the entire forest that was now covered with sharp sticks created from their fight. She just had to pick one up and use it as a steak. She watched as her blood spilled out onto the steak in her chest.
“I’m sorry,” Raven twisted the steak and removed it from her chest. Patience clinched her bleeding chest dropping to the grass beneath her. Raven released the steak stepping away from the vampire she had just killed.
“Selene,” Patience reached out toward the wolf that had slain her. It was strange to her how much this wolf reminded her of her sister. They were both strong, both were confident, every time she looked at her. She couldn’t help but see her sister. “I guess in the end, I was never able to compete with you my dear sister.” Her sight started to blur, her blood continued to pour out of her body. “Please take care of Brandon for me, don’t let him cry.” The sunlight beamed down on Patience’s lifeless body turning her into mere ash.
“You did it,” Claire embraced Raven. The moment she met her sister’s embrace she released the blood-stained steak in her hand. She dropped to her knees, her hands started to shake. She had just killed her first vampire. “You look terrible,” Claire set her bag down pulling out a med kit. “You know,” She started wiping the blood off Raven’s hands. “You could try being a little less reckless.” She grabbed Raven’s bag handing her a spare change of clothes.
“Thanks,” Raven grabbed the clothes putting them on. While she was getting dressed her eyes remained on the clothes on the ground. This was all that was left of Patience, the piles of ash had scattered with the wind. Strange, during her fight with Patience she felt a connection with her. It was like she understood her and why she was trying so hard to beat her. It was more than just survival. Patience wanted to prove herself.
Raven could relate, her brother, Eric, he was always better than her. She had a voice that sounded like a sweet siren that lured men to their deaths. His voice was like an army of angels using their songs to cast out demons. She could learn to fight. Her brother would be the guy teaching her. Sometimes, she felt like she was just living in his shadow. Raven wondered if it was like that for Patience. Perhaps in a different life, they could have been friends. What if this war is nothing more than a sibling rivalry? Best not to go there.
“Claire,” Raven watched as her sister neared Patience’s clothing. “What are you doing?” She blocked her path. “You can’t just loot her body that’s invading her privacy.” Claire ignored her checking her clothing. “This is wrong,”
“No, this is war,” Claire countered. “There are no rules, besides,” She glanced up at the sun. “This vampire was out during the sunlight according to Lord Grimm. That shouldn’t be possible. Especially since she burst into flames after you killed her. Aren’t you at least curious as to-,” She pulled a pill bottle out of the pocket of the blue jeans, “Why?” Raven read the label on the bottle, it read Sun Repellant IX.
“IX,” Raven crossed her arms. “What does that even mean?” Claire tucked the pill bottle in her jacket pocket. “Is it some kind of code?”
“It’s a roman numeral,” Claire explained. “Healers and Medics use them to mark their completed products.” Raven’s eyes filled with confusion. None of this medical stuff made sense to her. “When we are making medicine,” She began. “We are required to write down all the resources used to make the medicine. That way the tracker can replenish them. Sometimes the results fail.” She put her hands in her pockets. “Other times, they don’t. So, to keep track we number every trial. Until the medicine is complete. it’s referred to as the original name to indicate that it’s still under development.” She added. “Once it’s complete we add a roman numeral. This allows us to check our notes, find that trial number and duplicate the results in order to make more.” Claire finished.
“What’s this?” Raven noticed a second pill bottle on the ground. The label read Werewolf killer. “Claire, you might want to take a look at this.” Her sister snatched the pill bottle from her. “What do you make of it?”
“Well it doesn’t have roman numerals so what does that tell you?” Claire asked, Raven didn’t answer. She blocked her sister out after she said medicine. “You see this is why I’m the Medic and you’re the Omega.” She let out a sigh. “It’s not complete, the fact that it doesn’t have roman numerals on it means. It’s not complete. Please tell me you got that this time,”
“I got it,” Raven replied. “So,” She grabbed the pill bottle from her. “What do you think it does? Werewolf killer does sound a bit alarming considering that we’re werewolves.” Claire continued to examine the bottle.
“It could be anything,” Claire answered. “It could be concentrated silver that can slide down our throat and kill us from the inside out.” Raven held her throat, that sounds painful. “Or,” She paused. “It might neutralize the werewolf venom in our bodies and make us human again. That could also be considered a werewolf killer seeing as we wouldn’t be werewolves anymore.” She removed the lone pill from the bottle. It looked like an ordinary pill, Raven took it from her sister.
“So, it can either kill us or turn us human.” Raven asked, Claire nodded. “I guess the only surefire way to find out what it does is to test it. It’s not complete, so it won’t succeed either way. Even if it does,” She glanced over at her sister. “It fixes the Lycan problem, If I take it and it makes me human. Lycan won’t marry me, he hates humans. If it kills me then he can’t marry me anyway.”
“You’re saying you’d rather die than marry Lycan.” Claire countered. “You could consider the fact that you have a sister. Just saying if you die, it will affect me, I do have feelings.” She pointed out.
“Yeah but if it’s designed to kill me it won’t work. It’s not complete,” Raven explained. “Now if it’s option two,” She flashed a second finger. “It might make me human long enough to fool Lycan. That’s good enough for me.” She grabbed a water bottle from her bag. “Here’s to not marrying Lycan.” She downed the pill drinking the water.
“Wait,” Claire yelled. “What if she forgot to put the numerals on it?” Raven started trying to cough it up. It was too late, she already swallowed it. “This is bad so bad,” She began walking back and forth. “How do you feel?”
“I don’t feel any,” Raven started light headed. Her body began getting heavier. Claire tried to hold her up but she collapsed to the ground. Her thoughts started to fade as she entered a deep sleep.
“Sister,” Claire brought her ear to her sister’s heart, still beating that’s a good sign. She could hear her breathing as well. There didn’t appear to be any changes to her body either. That’s good so all the medicine did was put her in a comatose state. Claire let out a sigh of relief. All she had to do is remain here and guard her sister’s body. She started to hear footsteps from within the forest, each step was getting closer and closer to them. Could it be the scouts or... someone else?
