A/N : [This is private message/wisp]
My exams starts just today, so the updates would probably slow down even more :(
Writing a chapter without fighting is hard >_<

*Fifi’s POV*
Fifi: “Phew~…… Let’s stop for now.”
Stan: “I’ll be heading to the town’s forge then.”
Fifi: “Alright! We’ll continue again in 4 hours.”
Stan left through the town’s entrance while waving his hand.
Salvotor: “I know it’s late to ask but, is it really alright, building something here?”
Fifi: “Weird right? We built the stall a bit far away during BT, but other guild who built it near town didn’t have any problem. It seems like as long as it’s not inside the town it’s OK.”
Salvotor: “Well if that’s so, then OK… ”
Fifi: “For now, make more of the concoctions please.”
Salvotor: “Why? We’re not going to finish the stall first?”
Fifi: “No. We’re only building it this much for now to mark the spot. It’s because other guilds would want to make their base near a town.”
Salvotor: “Ok, I’ll go ahead and get my kit then.”
Fifi: “Should I help?”
Salvotor: “Nah, there are things I need to practice alone. Thanks for the offer.”
Fifi: “Hehe, thanks. I’m going to do a last check on the supply before continuing my unfinished dress then.”
I took a seat and took my sewing kit. Salvator is also getting to work too.
Salvotor: “You were serious about the dress? Aren’t you tired from all the work?”
Fifi: “Why, no? I enjoy crafting and there’s no stamina bar in this game. Didn’t you pick the class because you like crafting too?”
Salvotor: “I do enjoy it as a hobby. I actually started playing this game because there’s realistic crafting feature. You’re in an entirely different level though. It’s like you’re a professional.
I kinda joined the guild because you already took monopoly in the first town, but now that I joined, I feel like I’m just dragging you down.”
I noticed that as he talked, his voice became more and more depressed. He also muttered something unrecognizable at the end.
Because of the scarcity of crafters, we took in anyone who’s not “troublesome in behavior” to our guild. I’m currently tutoring him into an alchemist. He’s actually quite good, but it seems he lacks confidence?
Should I say “you’re actually quite good yourself”? Will he get conceited? I feel like he would just silently disagree while nodding.
Alright! I’m a senior now! Let’s say something senior-like.
Fifi: “Salvotor, do you like drawing?”
Salvotor: “…? No?”
Fifi: “You see, one of my friends is a great artist. He draws intricate stuff with pencil and his drawing is super great! One time, I asked him how he draws so well”
Salvotor: “…And?”
Fifi: “He said that you just need to draw again and again. If you draw a wrong line, just draw more until its right. Draw until your fingers remember how to make the right line. You just need to keep the image you want to draw in your mind…
…. It was only one of our random talks, but it’s like I heard “keep your vision into the future, keep repeating something until you got it right, do another thing and repeat until you got it right. Keep it up, and you’d have that completed image on your canvas””
Salvotor: “……That actually sounds like you’re trying to overwork me?”
W…Wait! No! That’s not what I mean!
Salvotor: “Pft… hahahaha! No, no, I get what you mean. Thanks for the words.”
That was embarrassing! I am never going to do that again!
Now I wonder if he was really depressed about crafting. Did I just say something completely irrelevant?
Oh, well it already happened. I’ll just continue on making the dress now.
Oh right, I heard we got a new sword-man? That particular class is so popular we were supposed to hold back in recruiting one. For her to impress Rando that much, it seems like we got another talent in the guild.
Oh look, she’s on the chat.
(Guild Member): -When are we going to do the “cat quest”?-
Pudding: -When all of us are here-
(Guild Member): -Wait for us please Q_Q we’re still on the carriage-
(Guild Member): -Relax dude, I was just asking-
Tifa: -Excuse me, what’s this “cat quest”?-
Fifi: -It’s a guild quest. We’re going to need our entire fighters to do it-
Tifa: -More explanation please?-
Fifi: -Like, the entire quest background and procedure? –
Tifa: -Yes?-
Fifi: -We’ll do a briefing later to explain about the quest in detail –
Tifa: -Then just the rewards?-
Fifi: -The reward is a pet cat that grows according to the guild level -
Tifa: -And what does the cat do?-
Fifi: -it gives AGI buff –
Tifa: -Okay! But that sounds so unrewarding though?-
Curious, I started a wisp to Kur0oO, the person who recommended Tifa to us.
Fifi: [Kuro, how did you meet Tifa?]
Kur0oO: [She’s someone I know in real life]
Fifi: [Was she a beta tester too?]
Kur0oO: [No, but she learn sword fighting IRL]
Fifi: [How much RPG has she played, generally?]
Kur0oO: [a little. I kinda dragged her to this game xP]
Fifi: [lol, I see]
You see, the “cat quest” is one of the famous 5 “sacred animals” quest set. Almost all guilds in the game would know about it. There are a lot of videos about the quest online.
The quest is the easiest of guild quests so a lot of guilds do this quest as soon as possible. But despite the quest being the easiest, considering the reward which is an almost permanent and significant buff for the whole guild member, it has accordingly challenging difficulty. These animals also grow and give stronger buff as it grows. For some people, the bonus stat is the primary reason to join a guild.
The author's content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
And more generally speaking, it’s hard to get pets in other MMORPG.
That’s why it’s weird for someone to not know the existence of the quest or think that the quest is unrewarding.
Anyway, I looked at the guild chat again.
Pudding: -How long until you guys reach the town? -
(Guild Member): -30 minutes -
Pudding: -Okay, go to the stall when you guys arrive. -
Pudding: -We’ll do the briefing there. -
Pudding: -It’s just in time so we’ll have lunch too-
…………..30 minutes later~
*Stone’s POV*
We went back from hunting in preparation to do a guild quest and to eat lunch.
When I arrived at the stall, the guys who just reached lv 20 are already there, chatting. Now that we’re complete, we’re ready to take on the “cat quest”.
Of course, not our entire guild is going to do the quest. We mentioned that some of us are from different countries. We chose one time of the day where most of us are online. The total members who are going to do the quest are 18 players.
For now, we’ll have lunch together while briefing the quest procedure. The game has “satisfaction” bar that had to be filled by eating food. If it’s gone down low enough, some of our stats would decrease.
The food is monsters meat cooked over camping fire.
While holding a monster meat, Pudding stood up. She’s going to do the briefing while munching.
Because I still remember the quest procedure, I’m just going to open an internet browser window while eating.
Rando stood up and leave early after a quick meal. He is going to take the quest from the town’s elder. He didn’t take the quest earlier because we need a quest item that dropped from one of the boss in the forest.
After some time of explanation, pudding stopped talking abruptly in the middle of explaining.
Wondering what happened, I look to the side. There’s a person looking at us from inside the town.
He’s the guy we killed when hunting earlier. We can’t PK in towns because if an NPC saw us, we would get infamy. But it’s not like we’re actually going to kill him again when there is no reason. He could just pass by us and continue hunting, but it seems he’s having a grudge?
Pudding noticed that and continued the explanation on guild chat. It seems it’s already too late though? If he caught the idea what quest we’re going to do, then he would know where to find us.
We completely understand he’s angry and all, but it’s not like we’re going to delay the quest just because one person is going to disturb us. For now, we’ll just keep an eye on him. We don’t want to kill someone for practically no reason; it’s one of our principles.
Hmm…. it might be trouble if he brings a lot more people though? He is the only one we killed during whole hunt and he won’t pose any problem alone. If he actually though up some plan, we’ll seriously deal with him and delay the quest a bit.
After a while with pudding explaining on the guild chat, a notification pops up. The notification says that Rando has accepted the quest.
Okay~
When the notification pops up, we all stood up in unison. We’re going ahead and just let Rando follow later. If that guy went and attacked Rando, it would be his loss anyway.
When we leave the town, the guy just stood there by the gate unmoving.
Several minutes later, Rando said the guy followed us when we’re already out of sight; it seems like he knows our destination. He’s alone, so we will kill him and go on with the quest.
The quest is quite far from town, it took 2 hours of walking while killing the monsters on the way. As the guy follows us from a distance, Rando stalked behind him. They didn’t fight the monsters because they could stealthily pass by them.
We eventually reached the destination. According to Rando, the guy is behind a tree near us. Now that we’re this far inside the forest it’s fine to kill him.
Rando turned into chaos mode and did a [back-stab] to his eye and proceed to kill him.
We can’t kill him near the town because if he died near town and revive there, he would still have time to catch up to us.
It is entirely possible that he would attack us from behind when we fight the last boss. It is also possible that he would go and kill steal the last boss from us. We had no choice but to kill him.
Rando who just killed the guy appeared from behind a tree. His nickname is red. Tifa looked quite frightened by the sight. It seems that PKer is still an infamous term.
Now that the problem is taken care of, we proceed with the quest. We went a little ahead and met the quest’s second NPC. The NPC is a pure white lion that shine with radiant light.
Because Rando is still in PK mode, Pudding talked to the NPC.
Pudding: “Quest, [[GQ] Corrupted Beast Soul]”
There was a notification that says the quest advanced, but we just ignore and dismiss it. The lion said something that we also ignore and moved closer to us. It gives some kind of 5 hours buff that was needed to damage the last boss. It moves away and revealed a downstairs that was behind him. While he was talking about something, we went ahead and go down the stairs.
Down the stairs is an underground dungeon which is the place of quest. We’re in a familiar temple-like corridor that has 4 person’s shoulder length widths. 5 hours is the time limit to complete the quest
