Fame0
I logged off to have a late lunch and other businesses and logged back in.
ercse0 was founded by our guild leader Rando when he pushed random key on the keyboard and put 0 after it. That was back when we played PC RPG games. According to Rando himself it spells “ers-zero”, don’t ask what language it is. He somehow became attached to it and started giving our guild names ercse0 from that on.
Us three, the founding members of the guilds are all in high school. These founding members are me, Rando and pudding. We met the others in a previously played game. They decided to follow us to this game when we announced that we’d switch game and replace the leader position.
We are relatively normal highschoolers who’s addicted to games.
There’s a reason why we could wield our weapons fluidly though! We were awkward in handling weapons just like all normal highschooler are. This is our first VRMMORPG game, as it is the first VRMMORPG ever released.
That reason being during beta test, we met “Grand Master” who taught us weapon wielding. Of course he only taught us the basics and the rest is our experience during beta test.
Anyway, the reason we choose to make a guild as a priority is so that we’d have access to guild storage because Stan and Fifi can’t indefinitely craft our loots and sell them. We need storage because they don’t have enough bag space too and to dump items when they are off.
Another reason is, because some more people are going to join the guild, some of them are online and hunting right now, we’re not partying with them because there’s no field where we could utilize more than 6 people at.
Currently, our crafter duo is around the village entrance, so they are tasked to invite the others if one of our members returns to the village.
I didn’t mention it but “Ultimate Heroes” closed beta was right around the first day of summer holiday so we have a very long time to waste today and right now is 5 pm.
So…. More hunting!!!
We’re not going in a group of 6 anymore though.
I’ll be with Lena; Saturn, Rick and pudding are together; And Rando soloed.
There are some fields where certain classes are useless after all.
I’ll say this ahead of time but Lena is a Guy in Real Life, G.I.R.L or as some may say “trap”.
I’ll say another thing ahead of time; Saturn and pudding are real girls in real life.
Darn you Rick.
Anyway, Lena is a small creature but with adult figure, she has waist long straight red hair tied in a twin tail and red eyes, beautiful curves and a pair of insect wing sprouting behind her back indicating her race, a fairy. She is a DPS type of mage that relies on fire magic.
Lena: “Let’s take a look at the quest board, There should be some quest we could do while grinding in the cemetery”
Stone: “right”
So we went to the quest board, took all related quest and continued to the cemetery.
The whole reason we split up was so that we farm monsters that are weak to our class. The cemetery is a farming ground filled with zombies, skeletons and bats. The cemetery is rectangular with its perimeter fenced and the one way in is through the gate.
The gate is small compared to the vast graveyard.
When we reached the cemetery, Lena stood still a distance away from the cemetery in front of the gate, and I went in alone. The monsters start chasing after me. there are lv 18 skeletons and lv 19 zombies that follows slowly after me. The lv 14 bats are already crowding on top of me, scratching on my shield that I held on top of my head like an umbrella.
I leisurely walked around the cemetery. All the nearby monsters are following with almost the same speed as I am.
Feeling that I’ve pulled enough, I went back to the gate and cast [provoke].
When I almost reach the gate, Lena has one of her hand holding a fireball and another hand held high with one pointing finger, signaling “One”, I ready myself.
“Two”
I [shield charge]d towards the gate.
“Three”
Lena’s fireball shot on top of me, it passed me and hit the crowding bat that was just attacking on my shield.
The fireball that she used just now was made with larger volume but with lower heat. She made it such that it would hit and burn all of the bats but not killing them instantly.
The bats with burnt wing dropped down toward the chasing army of zombies and skeletons and fire spreads among the zombies.
I stopped my shield charge right outside of the gate and turned back toward the cemetery. The army of zombies and skeleton are walking toward me with fire spread among them. They eventually reach the gate and attack the shield that I held.
The cemetery gate is such that only two person could get in side by side, the monsters that could hit me are at most, three of them while the others are held behind the gate and their own comrades.
It’s the 300 sparta tactic but with only 1 person and a cemetery gate instead of a deep valley.
Lena prepared another fireball spell and shot it toward the army of zombies and skeleton.
The fireball is one of the most basic of mage’s attack spell; it has fast casting and cooldown. Its mana consumption can be altered with the cost of area or heat. It’s practically a fire mage’s normal attack. It is also a skill that you could level up a lot, because there are skills that require high level fireball as its prerequisite.
Apparently, she knows a trick to make the fire explode upon contact. When the monsters are hit by the fireball, zombies died quickly because of their weakness against fire. Skeletons are pushed by the explosion to the point it fell on its butt due to their low vitality, but it doesn’t receive much damage.
That’s where I come in. I stepped onto the skeleton and it deals enough damage to kill them in 4 steps. With my inflated vitality, I could use my weight to damage the skeleton. My steps are considered blunt damage which is the skeletons weakness.
If they are still standing, I used a downward bash onto the skeleton. My hand and mace weight could force them down laying. Then i proceed to step on it.
No, it doesn’t make the vit stat OP! Take strength for example, to parry enemy’s attack with your weapon, you would need enough strength to properly push your enemy’s attack away. It’s an example of where strength could be used for defense like how vit could be used to damage.
When all of the monsters are dead, I went in for the second time to lure the next batch of monsters while Lena regenerated her MP.
Lure and kill, lure and kill. Each pull would consist about 10 monsters of each type.
While I’m doing this repeating cycle of farming, let’s talk about a little bit of the game system.
Monster levels are some kind of “recommendation” to players that “if you want to fight this monster solo, you might want to reach this level first”. All of the monsters here in the cemetery have low health and damage compared to their level, and they don’t even have special mechanics to them. What makes them to have their level is that they are very aggressive, to the point that if you attack 1 of them, at least another 4 will attack you too. That’s why you had to have higher stat compared to them if you want to solo them.
In return, they gave less EXP compared to other monster of their level. We actually had to kill about 100 of them to level up to lv 14. Their attacks are so weak though, I only need my regeneration and leveling up to keep my HP.
After killing about 300 of them, we are now lv 15 and had our bags are filled to the brim with stacks of junks and some equipment.
I went back to the village to drop all of these junks in the guild storage. The crafters met us and gave me a new shield, gauntlets and foot armor and a new staff and some accessories for Lena.
It seems the crafters only crafted the shield and gauntlets. Rando went back earlier, bringing the foot armor as one of his loots. Some of my loots are also equipment for our other guild members too.
I don’t need a new breast and legging armor for now, because the monsters mostly attack my shield and my lv10 armor from the brown bears give me enough weight to hold off the monsters behind the gate. Also, the crafters are working on the lv20 set.
Some newbie noticed us and asked to join the guild. Name appears on top of players head and guild name on top of the player’s name. We stated that we’re not open for recruit. The guild member capacity would be full in no time after all. Maybe after the guild has higher level.
With empty bags and new equipment we finished the board quest and take some more quests before we went back to the cemetery for more hunts. We’re going to repeat this until lv 20.

Because it would be a long time before that, let’s talk a bit about our crafter duo.
Lily and Stan have different specialty in their field of crafting, but together they could use any kind of material into any kind of in game craft-able item. Fangs, eyeballs, horns, monsters inside, herbs and more are used as alchemy ingredients. With its rate of drop, they could make enough potions to supply us and some more to be sold in a cheaper price compared to NPCs potion.
They collect the herbs by themselves, there’s a certain skill required from crafters to gather herb.
They also craft equipments, the materials are from the lower leveled equipment that drops that we’re not using anymore. They unwove robes and melt heavy armors to gather the material (because NPCs are cheapskates that won’t buy dropped equipment for a higher price than they sold its material!) Leathers are fine though, because the animal monsters we’ve been hunting drop a lot of those.
Sadly, they still lack threads and metals to produce enough armor for all of us. If only we have a silk farmer and a miner, we could make our own inside economy! The members that would join the guild later won’t take that part because it’s boring, way more boring than being a crafter.
What they lack, they buy with the money we gave to them through their shop. The shop works as a place where they buy dropped loot and low level equipment and sell potions for a better price compared to the NPC. Although we call it a “shop” it’s only a stitched up leathers into a big blanket laid on top of the ground. They put their products on the blanket. There's also a road sign put near it.
BUYING JUNK LOOT AND EQUIPMENT
Selling:
Beginner Health Potion: 50c
Beginner Mana Potion: 50c
Beginner Cure Potion: 1s
Beginner STR Potion: 1s
Beginner DEX Potion: 1s
.
.
.
.
We’re not losing money of course. The NPCs are such a cheapskate that they would sell an item 5 times more expensive than they would buy it.
The shop is manned by Fifi the loli elf and it’s selling well!
….Or more like, that’s why it’s selling well
Fifi has long blonde wavy hair, soft white skin, the elven ears, and slanted eyes like such characters that have their eyes drawn with just a line. She sits in an M sitting position with bare feet on top of the blanket while either stitching something or making potion.
Also, the game features the unrealistic anime-ish character design which amplifies her cuteness!
Fortunately, she’s a real girl.
Anyway, after a long time we’ve went back and forth between town and cemetery for 6 times already, and we are nearing lv 19.
But we have a bit of a problem. The boss zombie is now around the gate.
This game has a lot of bosses! Each field would spawn a boss and they would revive in at most 1 day after it’s killed.
Bosses are usually about 25-50 times the stat of its normal monster counterpart. Which would mean this lv 20 boss is actually weaker compared to the supreme bear, but we can’t kill it with just the two of us, so we let it be when it was far inside the cemetery and just pick on the normal ones. This particular boss is one that roams around its field so we had no problem ignoring it before, but now it’s in just a few meters around the gate.
Lena: “Should we call someone? They would take long to reach here, but it would be even longer before it passes this area”
Stone: ”Eh… you might not know, but we’re in an unofficial a race to reach lv 20. If we ask for help, we’ll be unofficially disqualified from the race”
Lena: “I know. It’s what we always do when we split groups. But we won’t be able to kill it without a healer”
Stone: “Hmmm… Can you do that trick you did when we fought the gorillas? We might be able to scrape by”
Lena: “That? It might fail though? Although I wouldn’t mind trying it”
She’s giving a feral grin while looking up towards the boss zombie who’s twice my height. Good! It’s no fun when there is no risk at all. We’ll win the race while killing this guy in addition! The other guys would help us regain level if we die anyway.
Stone: “Good answer~”
Lena: “Hey, before we’re doing this. Who do you think would win the race if we kill the boss?”
Stone: “…..Probably, Rando”
Because his hunting ground is so great, although without his skill he won’t be able to take advantage of the hunting ground anyway.
Lena: “Thought so”
Lena stepped up to the gate. She had to be close to the monsters for this plan to work. She’s not close enough to pull any of the zombies, but they would all swarm to her if she attacks one of them.
She prepared 2 small fireballs, multi casting is possible but it takes a lot of mana and made it mana inefficient.
She shot the fireballs toward one of the normal zombies around the boss. It hit the base of their shoulders and cut off their arms. with her level she could actually kill the zombies in one hit but we need the zombies alive with lessened attacking means.
The boss zombie noticed and started walking toward her.
She rapidly summoned more pairs of fireballs and shot it towards other zombies to cut off their arms.
By the time 3 zombies are arm-less. The boss zombie reached the gate, so I had to [provoke] it so that it won’t disturb Lena, along with the armless zombies near it.
Lena continued cutting off other zombies arms while I tank the zombie boss outside of the cemetery, or more accurately, running around backward while blocking its punch to my shield. Remember when I said bosses have 25-50 times normal monsters have? The boss zombie is faster than I am even if I run straight. The normal zombies are chasing after me but without its arms, they can only bite to attack which is far easier to dodge, especially when I’m running away. At the same time, I [provoke] the zombies who are close to Lena, all of them already armless just as planned.
Lena stopped when I pulled around 20 armless zombies; I still have 85% of my health remaining. She drank an INT potion and switched target to the boss zombie's head, throwing concentrated fireballs to its face.
Another DPS race! I tanked the boss zombie while drinking potions while Lena kept at shooting fireballs toward the boss zombie.
Me:85% - Zombie: 100%
Me:71% - Zombie: 90%
Me:56% - Zombie: 80%
Me:40% - Zombie: 60%
Me:18% - Zombie: 50%
That’s bad. One of the cleaner hit from the boss cost me 22% HP.
Stone: “Lena, Now!”
Aware of her timing even without the signal, Lena created a bigger fireball, the target is the armless zombies who are trying to keep up with the boss battle. The normal zombies health quickly approach zero as it was already reduced when they had their hands cut off.
Another hit from the boss, my health is reduced to 3%. Blood approach the corners of my vision, indicating that I’m in a critical situation.
Right on time, the 20 normal armless zombies are all dead, killed by Lena. My EXP that was in the nineties % quickly filled up and reset into 0.02%.
[You have leveled up!]
Along with the congratulating notification, my health bar went back to full.
Phew, that was close.
So, now I have 100% HP and the boss is left with 50%, and the minions are all dead even if they don’t do much contribution in damaging me. The rest of the fight was easy. We killed the boss with my health in the 22%, thankfully it didn’t have rage.
Guild Fame +20
Nice! it dropped a rare dagger! Now, Rando will owe us one. I contacted the crafters, because they are currently preparing for our lv 20 set. They don’t need to craft the dagger for Rando, I said.
We returned to the village and met Fifi by the entrance.
One of our newly joined crafter is also there on top of the blanket. he's making potion and seems to be absorbed in his work. Rando is there too, looks like he won the race.
Fifi: “Already level 20? We’re still seeing some newly created character fighting slimes. Those that logged in right at the opening are mostly still lv 12, excluding our members of course.
Wow, look at her hand movement. She’s weaving a robe faster than my eyes could see. She’s not even looking at her work while talking to us.
Lena: “well yeah, perkiness of Beta Testers”
Stone: “Sorry about making you guys craft a lot of equipments in one day”
Fifi: “its ok~ the next set is at lv 30, it should be a while before that. Enough time to make myself a new dress. Besides, I like doing this role. There a bunch of interesting things happening right here”
Apparently, some player thought that she is a "Wise NPC that knows the real value of things who gives quests if you have enough intimacy". She is hiding her nickname and guild name on top of her head. She is also wearing a custom made clothing instead of the beginner outfit.
One time, someone sold her iron ore that dropped from the lv11 earth elemental. She bought it for twice the price of NPCs and told him that she'd give bonus if he bring more of them.
And so they did, that's how we got most of our iron supplies by the way.
How did she have the time to make herself a custom clothing anyway?
Rando: “heeey~ where’s the dagger you promised? I was waiting for you to take the class advancement test!”
Rando is currently laying around on the leather mat, as if bored to death. Being a cat-man race he is, the act suits him.
Fifi: “Don’t worry about him, he just arrived not long ago himself :D”
Rando: “Traitor!”
Stone: “Here, the dagger”
Rando: “Thanks thanks”
After i gave the dagger we split up to take class advancement test.
