Daniel went out from his house after a long time. In his hand, he held a slip of paper that got the address of some kind of shop. He took a taxi to the city and wandered around it to find the shop he was looking for. After looking around, he found the shop he was looking for.
Daniel entered the shop and looked around. No greeting from the owner like they usually do in the game. Daniel looked around and found what he was looking for. He lifted it and thought the weight was just fine. A Bastard Sword was what Daniel was looking for. The trauma he got from Dali made him to go this far. He promised himself to not let his sword slip again and he would handle the sword properly. He brought the bastard sword to the owner.
"How much is this one?"
-"That will be $450, but what do you want to do with it?" The shop owner asked as Daniel looked suspicious.
"I need it to decorate my house." A simple logical answer that Daniel came up with.
-" I see, here you go, I will pack it for you."
"Thank you."

When Daniel came home, he opened Emperor Saga’s website. He put all the equipment he got from the Ancient Dragon’s stomach up for auction. The auction would give him real live money and he hoped he could survive the next month with the money.
"(I can't use all that equipment anyway)"
After taking a shower, Daniel drew the bastard sword from it scabbard. He then stood in his living room while closing his eyes imagining the two users he had engaged at the Forest of Beasts. He moved, dodged and swung the sword based on the 2 users’ movements he remembered.
"(If he does that I will swing the sword like this)"
Pang!!!
He accidentally slashed the coffee table....Training in the small living room was not a good idea, but if he trained outside people would think he’s crazy. While continuing his training, more of his furniture broke.
"(I need to train my body)"
Pang!!
*********
It’s been a week since Chrono entered the Forest of the Beasts. The weakest monster in the forest was a level 30 black cat and Chrono couldn’t go back to Dali as he had earned the chaotic status. Since he had nothing to lose, he tried to hunt black cats. Normally it is an impossible feat, but Chrono tried a few strategies to hunt it. The first 3 strategies were failures and he was killed instantly.
For a chaotic player, dying will make them respawn at the nearest safe place instead of the nearest city. A safe place is a place where no monsters spawn in a designated field and dungeon where players can camp safely to recover. In the Forest of the Beasts, there are 8 known safe places. Chrono could also only hunt at night because a lot of users hunted during day time in the Forest of the Beasts. Since during night time monsters got stronger, no user hunted at night. For Chrono, night was the only time he could hunt.
After observing and dying a few more times, Chrono fully grasped the black cat’s fighting pattern. He then devised a plan and initiated it right away. The huge plus about hunting black cats is, it was always alone and walked the same road every day. In his experience, the black cat’s speed was something to watch out for. Chrono’s first fight ended in an instant after 2 scratches and a bite which happened before Chrono could even swing his sword. But from Emperor Saga’s community forum, he knew a black cat’s defence and health are rather low for a level 30 monster.
To initiate his plan, Chrono took out his blacksmith tools to forge an essential weapon for his plan. He smelted what little material he had to forge a spear. He made the spear 3 times heavier than a normal spear and he made the spear’s blade exceptionally sharp.
trrtting!!
Useless Heavy Spear:
A spear that 3 times heavier then normal spear making it hard to use in a fight.
Made by a novice blacksmith.
Attack : 8~10 Durability : 30/30
Penetrate armor
-50% speed
Blacksmith skill rise
After finishing the spear, Chrono trained his thrusts with the heavy spear for a few hours. When he was satisfied with his thrusts, he went to one of the black cat’s routes and lay his body down on the ground.
'Fake Death'
A few hours passed but no black cat. Chrono had no choice but to wait longer. Finally after a few more hours, the black cat appeared. When the black cat passed by him, he rose slowly at the black cat’s back and activated his 'Walking Dead' skill. But walking stealthily plus the spear’s -50% speed penalty made him a lot slower than the cat’s normal walking speed. The cat get further and Chrono start to lose his patient. If he dashed suddenly the cat would notice and attack him, no doubt it will be an instant kill again.
"(Here goes nothing)". Chrono decided to take a gamble and throw the spear, he held the spear high and threw it with all his might.
"HYAAAHHH!!" Chrono shouted while throwing the spear. The spear speed and power is great but it was completely off target!!
"(This is it for me.)" But the skill that brought him to his current misfortune reappeared.
Merchant Luck triggered!! Your attack will hit
Suddenly a goddess appear and catch the spear then throw it fiercely to the black cat.The spear thrust through the cat body. The goddess smile to Chrono innocently then vanish.
Back Stab!!
You deliver 20 damage

The spear’s damage was not that high but the result was exactly like what Chrono wanted. The spear was still stuck in the cat’s body which meant the cat had to carry the spear around!! -50% speed will apply to the cat plus the long spear will hinder its movement. Chrono will not pass on this golden opportunity, he held Grave high and attacked.
"Soul Blade!!"
He attacked the slowed cat relentlessly. The black cat was unable to retaliate with the heavy spear in the way. Finally the cat died with multiple critical hits.
You have slain a black cat
Normally, killing a monster 10 levels higher will give 2-3 level ups. But even though he killed 30 level higher monster, he got no level up. Chrono could only think of one reason.
"(This bastard takes my exp)". He looked at Grave resentfully.
******
Before hunting another black cat, Chrono felt the need to practice his throwing skill. The last successful hunt was a fluke. If 'Merchant’s Luck' hadn't triggered, he would definitely have died. Chrono took a piece of wood for the practice target. Because it was 3 times heavier than a normal spear, throwing it on target was harder. Whenever the spear durability wore out, Chrono repaired the spear again. It took one whole week for Chrono to have a 80% hit rate.
Trting!!
You trigger a new skill by repetitive action. You now have the skill 'Spear Throw'
"Spear Throw skill window!!"
Spear Throw(Passive) (Level 1 Beginner):
Spear throwing will have additional damage, speed and distance.
Damage + 10%
Speed + 10%
Distance + 10%
Chrono didn't expect this. He knew the skill 'Javelin Toss' but since spears are heavier, no one used it as a throwing weapon. The skill was a good addition for him to hunt black cats, he decided to level the skill to level 3 before he hunting the next day. He couldn't practice forever since his food supply had been depleted significantly. He currently was living on black cat meat since his bread supply ran out three days ago. But the food was horrible with his current cooking skill.
"(I should level my cooking skill more)".
The next day, he only managed to level 'Spear Throw" to level 2. Maybe because his class is not a fighting class. He couldn't waste any more time, Chrono went to one of black cat’s routes and used 'Fake Death' the same strategy as before.
The black cat appeared after a few hours of waiting. When it passed by Chrono, he rose behind its back and threw the spear at the black cat.
Back Stab!!
You deliver 22 damage
The spear thrust through the cat’s body. With the heavy spear stuck in the cat, Chrono activated 'Soul Blade' and attacked relentlessly. Since Chrono had already adapted to the cat’s weak point, it only took 10 seconds to slay the cat.
You have slain a black cat
Again, no level up. Chrono took the loot from the black cat and used the same strategy again.
You have slain a black cat
Slaying the next black cat again no level up. He couldn't use 'Soul Blade' again for the next hunt since he had already used up all the souls. The next fight took up a longer time, Chrono took 5 minutes and he almost died from the fight.
You have slain a black cat
Again, no level up. It was almost dawn and he needed to hide from the users. Chrono decided he would hunt one more time after regained his health. He went to the next black cat’s route and used the same tactic. He rose at the black cat’s back and threw the spear.
Back Stab!!
Critical Hit!!
You deliver 35 damage
Chrono rushed to the black cat and attacked with Grave. This time he managed to land a critical hit for every strike and he dodged every attack. And after a 3 minute fight, he managed to slay the cat.
You have slain a black cat
You level up
Spear Throw level up
By throwing a heavy weapon for a long time, strength increase by 1
Grave level up
"Finally!!" A tear of joy came out as Chrono shouted.
