Appraisal

Under the bright full moon, the goblin scouts were struggling to stay awake. They were not nocturnal creatures. As goblins expended most of their time and energy during the day.

They were the night watch guards who had to watch out for any intruders. Goblin scouts were stationed at various areas on the wooden walls.

The wooden walls were bound by ropes and mud as they separated the goblins from their enemies.

As a pair of goblins stationed on the left side of the wall were keeping watch, hands appeared behind them. The hand grabbed ahold of their neck and brutally crushed it.

The culprit was the topless man, the berserker class was notorious for their immense strength. In trade-off for their strength, they were also more bloodthirsty and lost control in the heat of battle.

Dusting the blood and bits off his hands the topless man with red hair waited as his shadow materialized a gloomy-looking man. It was a skill of the shadow priest that allowed him to teleport himself to the person he bound his shadow with.

“Let's go, Ragni, we have to meet up with the rest of the party.”

The berserker who was named Ragni simply nodded as he picked up the shadow priest onto his shoulder. Shadow priests had very weak physical bodies as they spent most of their time trying to contact mysterious beings and their research of magic continuously harmed their bodies.

As the shadow priest and berserker killed any goblins they saw along the way. The knight, priest, and ranger were also making their way towards the shadow priest and berserker.

They had infiltrated the right side of the wall and their meeting point was one of the mud huts that the ranger in their party had scouted before.

They were treating the mission with less seriousness than they should, as goblins were generally weak and they were only strong in a horde. The only real threat was the shaman but as heroes, it was nothing wrong to gang up on a villain.

“Boss, there’s a hog goblin ahead of us.”

The ranger notified the leader as his eyes were glowing green. It was an ability of the ranger, [Eagle Eye: allows the user to see further and have a clearer vision], a very good ability for scouting.

“Just a hog goblin.”

Although hog goblins were the next form of evolution for normal goblins they were still too weak against the party. The knight’s cross sword lit up in a yellow flame. [Holy Sword: infuses your sword with a holy light that dispels evil]

The gigantic hog goblin was sleeping on the ground, and the noise coming from the knight woke him up. Rubbing his sleeping eyes that were adjusting, he barely made out the figures of the humans that were rushing towards him.

As the hog goblin made an effort to grab at the knight, the knight dodged his grab and jumped into the air. With tremendous strength in his arms, he swung the sword in a downward motion.

A golden curve flew from the blade as it bisected the hog goblin in twos. As the left and right sides of the hog goblin’s body fell apart, the body parts made a thud on the ground as the insides fell out.

The party ignored the bloody mess and continued along their path. They had to meet up and get rid of the shaman as soon as possible. They would rather avoid fighting off a horde of goblins.

After 5 minutes of trekking the two split parties merged again. The party had endured some level of fighting, noticeable by the blood sticking on their bodies.

The green scout continued to lead the party as their goal was the shaman. It wasn’t hard to find the shaman as the area he was in was quite noticeable.

There was a pyramid that had a different architectural design compared to the mud huts and other poorly designed buildings in the goblin camp.

Steps led to the top of the stone pyramid on the sides, as the top of the pyramid was flattened with only a stone table and throne sitting on the lonely peak.

The shaman was sitting atop the throne coldly looking at his surroundings, he was getting the prompt that there was something wrong with his surroundings.

[Prey’s Instinct, triggered]

The skill [Prey’s Instinct] allowed him to tell if there was anybody who was observing him. He relied on this skill when he was a goblin to survive and climb to where he was.

The gloomy-looking man’s expression was even worse than usual, his eyes were not on the shaman as he was paying attention to the throne. There was something about that throne that he wanted and desired.

Luckily as a shadow priest, he had been trained for situations like this. If you were going to be a shadow priest then you would receive a lot of temptations and benefits that would corrupt your mind, if you couldn’t fight those urges then you would fall and become less than a beast.

The shadow priest activated his skill, [Depth’s Third Eye], and a vertical slit appeared between his eyes as the slit opened to a third eye. The third eye’s pupil was purple with the iris being entirely black.

“Boss, there is something wrong with that throne,” The gloomy man reported to his boss.

“What’s wrong with it?”

“I don’t know but I'm currently appraising it.”

“Give us the report when your appraisal is complete.”

Nodding, the shadow priest could only stare at the loading bar.
