Specters flew in from a hole produced by the explosion. A devil followed by a rotting ogre stepped into the hall from the hole as well.
"I would hate to ruin your fun." the devil began. "But we have business here." The devil signaled to the ogre. "Kill them." And all hell broke loose.
Before anyone else could react, the specters began attacking the people at the summit. One of the specters took a swipe at Maglath. The woman, although surprised, was still able to dodge the attack.
Realizing the situation, Maglath felt a flicker of something she had left behind long ago ignite. The furry that she wished she had forgotten was once again burning in her. Maglath almost smothered it once more like all the times she did in her past, but today, now, it was different. People were at risk. Surely? Surely she would need its power if she were to protect the civilians and the diplomats from these monsters? Maglath once again let herself fall into the flame, her vision turned red, and she felt the one emotion that she had sought for so long to forget: RAGE.
Grabbing a hand axe from one of the still-surprised guards, Maglath swiped at the specter, not even caring when the blade went through the ghost. She was already getting ready to attack once more.
On the other side of the room, Fenn was already in motion. Rushing over to the devil, Fenn used the panic to cover his sounds and tried to take the devil by surprise. Fenn rushed behind the devil and stabbed the creature right through the back. As he brought the devil in the back Fenn felt the creature's pain. Gritting his teeth, Fenn pushed that same pain toward the ogre. The creature grunted in pain, reaching its big hands to his head in the hopes of lessening its pain.
Traris rushed right behind Fenn, although he was not as fast as Fenn he was more graceful. Weaving through the panicked crowd, Traris' blades, sheathed in electricity, slashed toward the bearded devil. Although The devil was distracted by Fenn's slash, it still noticed the danger of Traris's blade and dodged it. But the movement set him up for another attack from Traris as he brought his blade down again.
Luca was angry. She was already annoyed with the diplomants' inability to do anything, but an attack on the summit? Luca rushed forward to the devil who seemed to be the one in charge of the monsters. Channeling her wrath into her blade, Luca swung her halberd over her head and straight toward the demon. A bright light flashed as she called on her goddess to empower her strike. The halberd slashed right into the devil, the holy power of the weapon, and her rage allowed her to easily cut the demon's flesh. pulling her halberd out with a jerk, Luca prepared to thrust the tip of the weapon back into the monster. The blade struck true, The halberd pierced right into the heart of the fowl demon. Shock clouded its face. The demon looked into the eyes of Luca before falling off the weapon.
The ogre looked at its once master. Although it couldn't feel anything it looked toward the killer, a short human girl. Raising its club, it smashed down on the girl. The club struck the girl but it seemed like her armor took the brunt of the damage, leaving her uninjured.
Chaos still surrounded the rest of the room. The specter that was tormenting Maglath took one more wipe at her, trying to drain her very life force. But ultimately failing due to the focus of Maglath's rage.

Maglath for her part, continued to attack the specter in meditative anger. No longer was the anger in control, her training saw to that. She leashed the power, like a feral dog. The power tried to fight back, but Mag's mind had become a fortress since their last battle. She would... No, She was the master this time. She raised the axe she held in her hand and parted the spirit in two. The specter, being an incorporeal being, combined, but it had lost some of its mass. Not daunted by this, Maglath raised her other hand and punched toward the ghost, following it with a kick. Both of them also took some of the specter's mass with them.
Fenn, quick to recover from the devil's death, rushed over toward the ogre. Dashing behind the creature, he attacked the beast's legs, gauging a part of the creature's calf. Using the dagger in Fenn's other hand, he stabbed at the ogre's foot. Although it pierced the ogre's skin, it seemed to agitate the ogre more than hurt him. Noticing this, Fenn rushed back from the monster, before the ogre could even react.
Traris for his part looked around. Understanding that Fenn and the human women had the ogre under control. He noticed Maglath and her fight with the specter nearby. Raising his hands he started casting a spell and sending a shock of fire toward the specter. But his bolt missed the specter as it was moving erratically.
Luca stepped next to the rotting ogre. She readied herself and sent her weapon into a flurry of attacks. Hitting the dumb beast three times before it could try to defend itself.
The ogre for its part was not looking great, it had many slashes all over its chest and legs. Making a guttural roar, it once again tried to smash Luca with its club. The club this time, hit Luca right in her back, sending her tumbling to the floor.
The specter once again tried to drain the life of Maglath. Using the firebolt as a distraction, the specter flew behind the giant woman and bit her neck. Drawing the life force directly from her blood.
Maglath quickly grabbed the spirit, jerking the ghost off her. She once again attacked the beast with her axe, taking a little more of the ghost for her troubles. She punched and kicked the specter once more before the specter could even react. The punch landed true, but when Maglath tried to kick the specter, the effects of the blood drain began to catch up with her; sending her tumbling to the floor.
The stress was getting to Fenn. Although he wasn't hurt, he could see that many of the people around him, the guards and the civilians, were getting injured by the specters surrounding them. Fenn needed to finish this quickly. Rushing back toward the ogre, he raised his sword while the creature was distracted and slashed at it. The strike hit, piercing the ogre's torso, but the rot on his body seemed to help stop his bleeding if he had any. Once more, Fenn brought his dagger out and nicked the creature before running back.
Traris rushed over to the specter, slashing the ghost with his sword. The sword cleaved the specter in two, and with no more energy, the specter finally dissipated. Traris turned around and sent another fire bolt toward the ogre. The bolt struck the ogre right in the face, charring the flesh that hadn't already started to rot.
Luca once more raised her halberd determined to finish off this monster.
The first strike hit the ogre straight in the chest, and the ogre fell. But almost as from magic, the ogre regained conscience, starting to rise once more. Still, on the ground, Luca raised her halberd and chopped the head of the ogre from the body.
As everyone started to charge for the other specters in the hall, a golden flash raced through the hall. As the group turned in the direction of the light, they spotted the queen of the elves. She was floating at the center of the hall, seeming to be concentrating on some spell. The specters shrieked. Wailing in pain, many of them flew out the windows. Others started violently shaking and dissipated. Silence. It was done. Over the course of half a minute, the peace summit had been attacked and then defended. During that time, many people were injured, but everyone survived. In that half minute, Four people stepped up and slayed the leader of the monster force and its giant subordinate. In half a minute, they became heroes.
