I can see the blue light of the cavern up ahead. I don't hear the swarm at all, hopefully it stays that way. Looking at the walls of the path even near the cavern, there is no marks or signs of the swarm damaging them when they had passed through before. If it wasn't for the damage done to the cavern, and the memory of them, I wouldn't have even known the swarm existed.

I've arrived back in the cavern. I still don't have any real ideas for taking water with me. It seems I might have to just drink as much as possible then commit to the path. For now I'm gonna make sure I've got all my supplies and have collected anything useful from the cavern, try to get some sleep, then it'll be time to start walking.

I'm starting down the path again. It doesn't seem like it should be all that long, due to the way it's shaped not really being fit for anything beyond people moving on foot, but I suppose appearances can be deceiving. Its about two meters wide and one and a half meters tall, with an arched roof. The stone is almost white in colour, similar to marble. Considering the situation, I slept rather well only waking up once or twice, it helped that the temperature was slightly chilly, only barely warm enough to sleep without a blanket. My resource stock hasn't changed much, the only new addition being that I removed my socks and stuffed them with moss, soaked them with water from the various puddles, then tied them to the makeshift satchel I've been using. I'm not to sure how effective they'll be long term, but, for the time being they are working quite well as a water storage.

I have reached the alcove once more. I'm gonna rest here as I did last time. The moss has grown to a visible degree. I had only left a handful, yet now there is about three handfuls. I'm not sure how long the walk is but it cant be more than an hour or two, plus the about 8 hours of sleep I got, in about ten hours the moss seems to have tripled in quantity. I'm not an expert on moss but that speed of growth is simply ridiculous. How has the moss not completely overgrown everything? I have to assume that there is either something limiting the growth, like a lack of nutrients, or, that something eats the moss before it can grow to large. I recall the moss was stripped where the swarm had passed before, I had assumed that it was just torn up to the degree that it seemed gone, but maybe they ate it. I can't be too sure about that assumption though, there could very well be much more than just me and the swarm down here.

I started walking again a while ago. There wasn't much for quite some time, but I think I'm starting to see some light up ahead, it's also getting easier to see as I continue walking. The air is changing as well, I wouldn't say that it feels like the surface yet but it definitely is getting less stuffy. I see what looks like surface plant life at the end of the tunnel. Is there normal vegetation in a cave?
