Dungeon Explorer #9

I entered the liquor store while thinking about how I wanted to do the dungeon.

As soon as I got in a coliseum was generated around me.

Welcome challenger

Survive the waves.

That shouldn't be too hard on the other side of the arena a metal gate was slowly being pulled up.

A golem came out he seemed to be staggering as he walked.

His proportions were that of a man but the pieces were all blocky.

He looked exactly like a minecraft character except in real life.

I pulled out my machete and walked to the middle of the arena to meet the challenger.

After all, I already considered myself the gladiator of this arena.

As soon as the golem moved close enough I slashed. But in a dancing drunken sort of movement, the golem dodged it and moved closer.

I quickly backed up thankfully the golem wasn't too quick.

I tried too circle around and look for blind spots.

But he would always do his drunken dance to face me.

This time I charged him I swung with a feint and the golem moved to dodge.

But I followed up with a horizontal slash so he couldn't dodge!

It cleaved him into too different clay parts.

I had seized victory.

In real combat, the victors and the losers were decided in seconds.

That's what I had learned with this newfound power.

Druken golem is unable to battle challenger wins 1/3

It must be trying to tell me to get buffed or healed or take a potion or something.

But I was all alone, but that meant that all the loot was mine.

I hadn't found a dungeon that was only conquerable by two people.

Those dungeons that went until.. I was interrupted.

System Alert

The current dungeon has been targeted for destruction

You will now be ejected.

I found myself flying through the air as I flew out the liquor store door and landed on my back.

Right as I did I heard an explosion go off in my head.

Dungeon Complete

Do you wish too share loot? >yes >no

>No

I clicked no, I selected this dungeon because I needed the loot specifically.

Clay armor has been acquired

Nice, a ball of clay fell down and into my hand.

I thought about equipping it over my heart and eyes.

It instantly created a shield over my heart and a pair of crystal goggles.

I tested the plate out by punching it as hard as I could.

It seemed to stack the effect with my t-shirt because I didn't even feel an impact on the first hit.

When I hit my goggles though it felt like I had been punched. But the goggles didn't even crack so it seemed like I was good.

I didn't know how the dungeon had been destroyed but I'm pretty sure it had something to do with someone's unique item.

I decided to go home before I was gonna worry about all of this stuff.

I kept my clay armor equipped because nobody could see it anyway.

It made me feel like a superhero even though I looked like a kid with pool goggles on.

The journey home was quick and peaceful.

With my dungeon done there were no other ones that popped up.

It was peaceful and harmonious with the spring breeze blowing through my hair.

It seemed like the sidewalk was laid out before me like a race track as I pedaled as hard as I could.

As soon as I got home I went and stuck my head in the fountain.

Apparently, the goggles were also waterproof because no water leaked into my eye.

This was great now I had enough strength to go dungeoneering with other people.

With my vitals protected I didn't have to worry about ranged attackers.

The dungeon system only gave you dungeons it believed you were capable of completing or running away from.

The only exception to this was part of dungeoneers they could be given any level of the dungeon but they also could get rewards of any level. And not stupid gimmicks like the pressurized super soaker I was offered.

Yes, under the current system if someone wanted to become a powerful dungeoneer a party was a must.

That's were my unique item came into play I would be able to interact with other people before everyone else.

I could hog all the benefits to myself and only enter parties with the lowest level players and try and shoot ahead of the pack.

But if I did that then they might all gang up on me.

So it was better to make a group of powerful friends that I could trust.

That was what I intended to do anyway.

I walked into my room.

Man, today had been a stressful day.

I didn't even realize the power of unique items before today.

But now I fully understood why they were called unique.

I turned on my iPod too see a bunch of messages.

~How was your day

~Anything useful to tell us?

~What are you doing?-Templar

But the most interesting out of all of them was

~Did you see that dungeon get destroyed. That's the power of my unique item.
