DCO: Loremaster ch 5

With all good things, they must come to an end. For the rest of the night, Terrance went around the dungeon’s first two floors and interacted with every mob he could. Everywhere except for the city. When he went there he got ambushed by players when he was working on one of the raptors he was fixing up. Naturally, being attacked by mobs that all but ignored Terrance when he was around them caused the players to have some ire against him.

After another day of IRL stuff behind him, Terrance went back into the game enthusiastic and ready for another grind. The first thing he did was check up on how much the prices of some food items have changed. Dicken’s meat had increased by a few coppers and a few other food items went up about the same. It appears the local restaurant was getting ready for something. Next, he stopped by the library. Mainly to do a little research on the miniboss and main boss of the second floor. Also to get some writing things. With the mandatory warm-up day behind him, the dungeon became open for business once again.

As typical for most, they rush the first floor and into the second, but some lower-level dedicated farmers of some groups got to work hunting the floor mobs. Terrance spent some time to pet the mobs he came across and deposited what he did not want to keep or sell into the barn before moving on. Old man Jenkins was not seen today.

The second floor was also mostly deserted, except for the dedicated farmers from groups as well. There were a few more level grinders and explorers, however. Most of the scrap cars had been picked clean, but one had a wrench in it. Those being mined he avoided.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

It did not take long before he met up with S.P.A.R.S., the drone he met before. FYI, Stealth Prototype Archeao-repairer System. That is what the user manual Terrance got called it. Spars were quite friendly actually. The elite mob had an evolved ai in it that was comparable to a boss. At least that is what his research on the Terminus said. Not only could it make sound judgment in combat but also out of it as well. An example is when Terrance was about to walk into a trap and it warned him out of the blue to stop.

Speaking of BLU, Terrance finally got to meet her. He was in the middle of oiling one of the cities raptors when she and her pack appeared. Something strange happened as BLU instantly aggroed toward him but the raptors he was working on took a defensive stance around him and SPARS appeared. A few times the miniboss changed her focus from the elite mob to him, but ultimately did nothing until Spars raised into the sky and BLU released a mechanical yelp.
