Sitting in his house he looks at the book they gave and flips it open while having his left eye be his third eye not hoping for much but trying none the less and freezes as he realizes that there is energy imbued in the ink allowing even him to read the words written, the book talks about how high elves are beings who have formed their own domain with energy and that one can push this domain out of their body to have unique effects.
It says one pushes the energy out then pulls it back in just before it escapes one's grasps, it is a skill that requires incredible control but once done the persons strength will always be incredible in their domain and the bigger the domain the better the effect.
After that it talks of how to inscribe runes to give certain items effect but runes work best on certain surfaces though stone and clay will work it is batter to use gems with each gem having a unique and better effect depending on the rune used, he reads all he can in the book that describes how one inscribes the runes and how one needs to keep their energy perfectly even and constant the whole time.
He reads the whole book and begins to think on what to do, the bird tribe that gave this to them deserves something in exchange more than just to fish with them.
Thinking of the ability to see using energy and not one's eyes he wonders if the birds would be open to this as payment for the book as although they can't use it, he a high elf will gain a lot from this and his tribe will greatly benefit from the book as there are preservation runes to keep food and energy preserved for a longer time then simple treatments could.
All he can do is wait for their envoy to come and thinking of envoys they will build them a good home near a cliff beside the ocean.
Leaving to speak with the elders and the chief he feels that this is the turning point for the tribe and from now on they will simply skyrocket to greatness, speaking with the elders and chief they agree to build the house where he thought to and seeing the book they can't help but agree with my wish to give more then just fishing to them.
After settling all he needs to he then heads back to his home to begin practicing the things in the book, he wants to learn the art of rune making so he needs to learn how to use his energy.
The next few days pass with him pushing out his energy trying to pull it back to him but despite sounding easy it is very tricky, he can only do it round his skin as he looses control over the energy if it got more then a hairs breath away making the size of his domain even smaller then the weakest natural born elves spoken of in the book.
But he can only slowly grow and adjust as he has always dealt with unfairness with determination, leaving the home after his normal practice he is approached by the woman who gave birth to the blind pup three years ago.
The boy is growing well and she asks me to begin teaching the boy now as to make it easier in the future when he needs to learn my ways, I am unsure if he can even learn it as it came more naturally to me but to be able to leave this tribe without hurting it I need someone who can replace me and so the boy must learn it even if I have to force high grade energy down his throat to help him evolve to do so.
So I spend an hour a day having the boy over at my house speaking of how one controls their energy and slowly guiding him to sense his own, we usually only teach kids to sense their energy at 5 due to lacking talent but with so much energy in him thanks to the high grade meat I feed him he should be able to feel it.
He is four years old when he senses his energy and I begin to help him learn to see with it by imbuing it into his eyes and sending out a thin coating of it, he can now see the small ripples his energy has on things with energy like me.
With a method to learn this now made I begin to inscribe it on a clay tablet so even if no one in the next generation is blind it will be recorded for any descendants to learn if needed, I also begin to practice inscribing runes on clay tablets so when it is time I can guide the boy on how to do it even if my control is still shaky now.

When the boy is five, he transforms for the first time in mere seconds of trying to make many overjoyed at the talent he showed, his form is a grey wolf with white scales under it as protection with white eyes showing his lack of sight.
I begin to teach him how to hunt and fight in this form as although the others use better methods they simply won't be as effective for the boy as the ones I have made, the boy grows and evolves with the years that pass and as the boys 12th birthday comes and goes he finally evolves into a primitive high elf like me though still weak he has an advantage of being younger and having more resources then me.
I am now 26 years old and am beginning to reach my max amount in this primitive high elf form and I can't help but wonder how it will feel once he fully evolves into a true high elf.
Breathing in then out as he eats more plants after finishing off a high grade meal he can feel the energy start to rapidly condense in his mind forming a small sphere there, he felt like there wasn't enough energy so he raided his storage and began to down his food one after another inter mixing meat with plants and as he ate more and more the sphere grew and spun faster and faster until he felt pain shoot through him.
Collapsing to the floor in pain he gasps in as much air as he can as it feels like his lungs have collapsed on themselves, he can feel energy being pulled into him with each intake of breath and slowly the rapid swirl of energy begins to calm, and he falls asleep.
Waking he sees the elder standing to his left as well as the boy, then freezes as he realizes he can see them not as energy signatures but as actual people.
Looking to the boy he knew he supposedly had grey hair and white eyes but seeing the colors instead of merely hearing about them has him crying, the elder rushed to him as tears streamed down his face from the completely new event occurring to him.
He looks to the elder and sees the eyes he knows people said where blue, 'it is a pretty color' he thinks as his world has completely changed in a mere few seconds.
It is overwhelming all the colors and bright light that now permeates his eyes making his brain begin to fry trying to understand the sudden increase in information, he is seeing both the mana energy and the way others see the world at the same time and his mind is trying to match the two up.
Closing his eyes he tells the elder he saw him, the elder falls silent after having been asking him questions on his health and how he feels since he started to cry.
The next few days is spent with his eyes covered by a ribbon to help him not get overwhelmed and the others slowly teaching him what everything around him is, this tree is a sap tree, or this meat is bird meat so on and forth while the mother of the boy asks him if she thinks her son will also be able to see like him.
I see myself in the mirror for the first time and feel strange associating the person in front of me with the image of energy I have always done so with.
Not only that but his voice had transformed to become soft and melodious sounding like one of the songbirds then a person showing my bird heritage, his black hair was now down to his waist unlike how it was normally kept as short as possible while his brown eyes had taken on a slight white ring in them around his pupils.
The boy has already achieved the primitive elf form and after learning of my advancement and the gains from it he immediately asks me to help him grow further, I think of the problem the energy orb brought me when I transformed and told him to begin gathering his energy there while meditating.
When the boy is 16, he finally becomes a low high elf, and my duties to the tribe are fully taken over by him who is now of age and able to mate with others.
I am no longer needed so I leave the means of how to see while blind inscribed on two stone tablets inscribed with preservation runes in the old orphan's cave in case anything became of the clay tablets, I left behind.
Thirty years old and a lower high elf is considered common talent by high elves but for someone who started out the lowest grade mutant it proved my talent and skill, now heading in the direction of the eastern mountains we hunt at during the competition I wonder how I would compare in a fight against another elf as I can only make a small sphere around me and I don't even know which element I am.
So, on the day of our leave to attend the competition the boy joins our group for his first hunt as the pack leader and I am to watch over as a safety measure, leaving the tribe the elders and higher standing people know this is the last time I will be in the tribe as after this I will begin my own journey.
The hunt goes nicely and being warned of the massive energy the boy only uses his sight for short time and keeps watch during night to prevent people framing us, come the end of the challenge I have done little and it is clear it is time for the next generation to finally replace the old so as our tribe goes to leave the competition ground I separate from them and as I walk away the boy gives me a inscribed gem he made so if I ever come across another person of the tribe we can help each other.
I leave without much fanfare simply walking away from the life of ease to one of the unknown, I have sought my freedom from the moment my fate was known to me and now I have it.
No one will ever take this from me.
