Gun Dance.

Gun Dance.

I decided it was best to take care of the two that was sleeping first, so I used the darkness of the night to make my way over to the campfire where they were resting. As I neared my first ‘tango’, I materialized a BC-Axe on my left hand and swung it down hard into his neck which went thoroughly cleanly. Some of the blood that squirted from his severed neck landed on my left sleeve then I heard a shout on the adjacent side where his pal was sleeping.

“Goddammit… You should’ve stayed asleep.”

Looking up to face the other enemy that got up with his sword at the ready, I sighed and shot him through his heart. His body fell forward into the burning campfire which, seconds later was engulfed in flames.

“You bastard! You’re going to pay with…”

As I heard the two that was watching the cage arrived at camp, the one that looked like the leader stopped mid-sentence as he saw the hood slid off my head which revealed my face. He must’ve recognized me since I noticed expression changed.

“Y-you. How the fuck did you break out of your restraint?”

“Well, I think it was because that muscle head blindfolded me as he attempted to rape me. Yea?”

I shrugged as I didn’t know myself which infuriated him further.

“I told him that his fetish was going to kill him one day.”

I heard a voice from behind, I quickly glanced back and saw the sentry came out from a bush. Realizing I am caught between a pincer with two opponents in front of me and one in the back, I quickly formatted a fighting plan.

“Whatever, we still got the numbers on you and we know you’re a “Saint”. So be a good girl and just surrender.”

The leader smirked at me thinking his prey is trapped. What he failed to realize is that the weak girl he knew is no longer here and I can use firearms which can turn anyone whose is weak, strong. I readied my axe and my Glock as I repositioned my body into battle stance for close quarters combat.

“Well then gentlemen, we’ll see about that. En garde!”

I taunted at them to see who would engage me first. A warning indicator went off at my 6 o’clock indicating the sentry made the first strike.

“Twin Strike!

Well, he tried to strike first. I immediately spun around and took a small step back to avoid a critical strike that was aimed at my neck. I saw his weapon was dual daggers and immediately scanned him after I impaled my axe into his chest.

I performed a backward flip as two warning indicators went off, midair I saw a large sword and a short sword. I switched my focus to both the leader with the large sword and the goon next to him.

I nailed the landing then faced my attackers head on. Following up throwing my axe towards the bandit named Amsden, the axe embedded itself firmly into his face. Duncan took a quick glance at his comrade the body fell to the ground. He then faced me, knowing I am dangerous he kept his distance. He must have noticed the Glock on my right hand since I didn’t use it in the fight. I was wrong when I heard him saying something.

“Limit off”

A sudden powerful aura almost knocked me off my feet, I recovered quickly. I realized that he wasn’t cautious, he is intent on killing me in that mode of his. As if my “Core System” was reading my thought.

[Limit off: Removes all restraint on user which increases both speed and attack power. Pain is also nullified.]

“Great… Let’s go!”

I immediately charged toward the bandit named Duncan with my Glock pointed straight at him.

*BANG! BANG! BANG*

I fired four shots at the stationary Duncan and to my surprise, he stood there tanking the bullet hits on his chest. As I neared the distance of thirty-two feet, Duncan changed his posture as he turned his hip halfway to his right. He planted his right foot forward and his left foot back as he lifted his large sword up, blade pointing downward. At six feet, I saw an opening between his legs and slide sideway through as he swung his large sword down. I fired off another two shot which hit his dick and his butt. I caught a glimpse of a heavy gust of wind that came out from the sword and sliced a tree in half. I quickly pulled out the BC Axe from Amsden’s dead body as I got up to face Duncan again. Paying no mind to the blood splatter that stained my robe, I readied my axe and my Glock. A notification messaged popped up as I was about make another charge.

[Suggestion, A point blank headshot or the decapacitation of the head would disable the ‘Limit Off’]

Realizing that something was aiding me through my ‘Identification Scanner’ system I gave a thumbs up to myself as an indication to the unknown entity that I acknowledged ‘its’ suggestion. I began to spin my BC axe after sliding my index finger through a hole on the handle.

[‘Gun Dance’ in effect. User gains temporary firearm handling speed]

After the message popped up, I started to spin my Glock forward and backward while using the index finger on my right hand that was behind the trigger. Duncan isn’t taking any more chances as he swung his sword in formations.

[Incoming attack! Attack trajectory analyzed; angled slash, horizontal slash, Vertical slash, and X-slash.]

I easily dodged the first three attacks however as I slid under the X-slash, Duncan was waiting for me with his sword pointing downward. It was most likely he attempted to pierce me with the tip of his sword’s blade while I was still on the ground. I did a quick barrel roll to the right while I'm still prone  then pointed my Glock at him, everything around me stood still as if time stopped. No, I shook my head as I recalled a “Core System” skill that slowed time as its passive.

“Assisted Target System”

I muttered, a skill which required certain conditions to be met before it could be activated. As someone who made this skill, I can only regret the “it was a good idea at the time”. An indicator appeared before Duncan’s sword followed by an arrow that pointing at his neck as another message box appeared before me.

[‘Willbreaker’. Critical condition. Single shot at blade center will destroy it. Immediately sprint towards target, followed by pistol melee. Initial impact will shock target for a three-minute window. Use BC Axe at target’s neck. Target’s neck tissue is weakest.]

Looking at the message, I followed it to the bone by shooting at the blade first.

“With this you are finished.”

Duncan eyes widen in shock as he watched his beloved ‘Willbreaker’ shatter. The next thing he knew, he saw the girl whom he was paid to kidnap right in front of his face. He then felt metal going through his neck as his vision blacked out.

“Dammit, I should’ve at least kept one alive for interrogation.”

I quickly threw a fit realizing I made a grave error in my plan. Since I failed to keep one of the bandits alive, I decided to proceed with the latter plan by rescuing the folks in the cage, hoping that they can provide me with some basic intel. Looking at the dead bodies one last time, I turned around and made my way to the cage. When I reached the cage, I noticed that a cloth was covering it, I reached out both my hands and yanked it away revealing humans with animal traits. Or I would say… people with animal ears and tails.
