Chapter 5 

              Three days were left before Melony and I were to leave with Fredrick, from what I understand it is a 5 days ride in a carriage which is what they arrived on when they first came. Currently I was just reaching Junpir's tree today I would tell her that I was leaving, I didn't know if she would be angry at me. Well all I can do is hope, walking towards her tree I lightly knocked on it before saying. 

" Junpir it's me Felix." 

It took a while for her to respond but she gave me the same greeting as always. 

" I know who it is you idiot who else prances right into dryad land with a dumb smile on their face." 

My smile grew even wider at her words. 

" Well sorry for having a dumb smile at least I don’t smell of bark!" 

" Ugh no you smell of wolves which smells even worse." 

We both started to laugh after that interaction everyday we had started to poke at each other more and more, its become something of a ritual. 

" Junpir I am leaving this forest in three days, I am going to the feline country." 

She could see the worry in my face hoping she wasn't angry. 

" Idiot I already know that the forest has told me, it weeps for the loss of you but wishes you luck and has faith in your return." 

I could only smile at her words. 

" You know Junpir you always say forest this, forest that but why can't I hear the forest." 

She gave me a light smack on the back of my head. 

" Once again an idiot the forest already speaks to you, the only thing you are lacking is strength and control of your mana. Once you have that you will be able to hear the words of the forest." 

I gave her a questioning look. 

" Does that mean your stronger than me Junpir?" 

A big smile was plastered on her face. 

" You have no idea, well then Felix I guess it's time to give this to you, it is a gift from the forest in hopes it will help you walk your path." 

She went over to her tree and gave it a 3 light taps, some form of energy seemed to flow from the tips of her fingers. Never have I seen this energy before but I could feel it, life flowed through this energy as if it was alive just like anything else in this world. Slowly an apple shaped fruit started to come out of the tree bark, Junpir continued to pour the energy into the tree. Strain could be seen clearly on her face, this continued for a solid 30 minutes until finally a golden apple emerged from the tree. Junpir exhausted looked my way and pushed the apple my way. 

" Take it a gift from the forest you have no right to refuse it, this is an apple of life a forest can grow one apple ever this is the first and last apple to come from this forest." 

Reaching out I took the apple from her and slowly bit into it, I felt the energy flow into me.

" This apple will increase your mana pool, some other changes will come but that is just to your body, another thing do not tell anyone of this. The apple of life existing is more than enough for those greedy elves to come scavenging the land burning down forest to find one. We cannot have that the forest and I wish you luck on your journey Felix we hope for the best, please return to us in the future. Sadly I cannot go with you I am bound to the forest, hopefully one day we can enjoy ourselves again maybe I'll even let you have another one of my apples." 

I had finished eating the apple when I asked her a question I wanted to know the answer of quite badly. 

" Junpir why does everyone hate the elves." 

I could see anger clearly flash on her face just for a brief moment before she spoke. 

" Felix the elves were once people of the forest, caring for it loving it and in return the forest cared for them. This however, did not last long after they received magic, slowly they became more and more corrupt however the forest always stayed on there side hoping they would not dig their hole deeper. The elf king burned down the elder forest which their home was built in, this angered the forest slowly the it stopped giving the elves its protection. After they lost the protection of the forest, they declared war on all races in their race to become the most magically advanced race. After the old king died from magic of his own creation the war died down, now it is almost all but gone. However, the forest and the other races will never forget what the elves did, never will they be forgiven. That is why they are treated as such." 

This information was shocking I was still processing it when I felt a cramp in my stomach, slowly the pain grew and grew until it felt like a fire was burning inside of me. I could only let a scream as the pain felt unbearable I caught a glimpse of Junpir she did not look surprised. 

" Try to fight the pain Felix the apple of life is forcefully increasing your mana and changing your body it will be painful, but I am here for you fight it do not give in." 

Junpir say my head on her lap and proceeded to sing a sweet melody that filled me with a gentle warmth, but that was soon overtaken by the burning pain I felt inside of me. The pain kept coming I don't know how long it has been but I clearly saw the worry on Junpir's face, I saw the moon come and go twice slowly the pain was dying down. Finally what felt like ages later the pain had faded and I felt terrible, Junpir layed me down on the floor and proceeded to make an apple for me putting it near my mouth as if telling me to eat. 

                  I took a bite and soon the energy started to flow through me once more, giving her a big smile I spoke to her. 

" That was all I feel like I could do that another 10 times." 

She gave me a gentle smile back while saying 

" You really are an idiot but now that you are ok, it is time for you to go it seems someone is here for you." 

Confusion struck me for a bit before I heard an angry voice come from behind me, fear slowly creeped up I knew exactly who this was and I was sure she would not be happy. 

" FELIX WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN I WAS WORRIED SICK DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOUR DOING TO YOUR MOTHER, AND YOU JUNPIR IF HE WAS WITH YOU AT LEAST SEND ME A MESSAGE, THE THINGS I'M GOING TO DO TO YOU COME IT IS TIME FOR US TO GO HOME." 

I turned around slowly fearing what I would see, and fear was the right choice here I saw an angry looking wolf and a worried looking girl standing next to her. Oh man I really don't want to be punished after what I just went through, hopefully it does not come to that. 

" I'm sorry mother I was in a bit of a situation, please don't be mad it's just that I won't be seeing Junpir again and I wanted to spend time with her." 

I was not lying I really did want to spend time with her but, I cannot tell her about the apple I made a promise to the forest. The first one to speak surprisingly was Melony. 

" You Felix what happened to you, your eyes and tail also your ears they've changed." 

I gave her a puzzling look before she spoke again. 

" Your eyes they were blue before now they are purple, and your tail seems to have grown a full head also the color of your tail and ears are now purple as well. What happened I have never seen a purple colored feline." 

I looked back at Junpir with a look of worry until my mother spoke. 

" It does not matter what happened as long as you are ok, you don’t have to tell us but you Junpir if I find out you hurt him in anyway I'm coming back here with the whole pack." 

" Yes yes calm down you wolves always too ready to jump into things, I did not hurt the boy calm yourself. He is going to be just fine, maybe even better than fine." 

I couldn't help but laugh at the whole situation I had never seen my mother so confused in my life, it just made me laugh for some reason soon we said our goodbyes and started walking back to the fields. This whole situation was ridiculous but I couldn't help my smile, I felt my sadness disappear completely when I was with Junpir now I will always have a piece of the forest with me. Never again will I feel like I am without this place, and like this the last day I was to spend in this forest came to a close and slowly the new day approaching I prepared myself to leave.
