Chapter 2 

             After about 20 minutes of searching I finally found the cubs, there we're 3 of them Hiel, Gertrid, and Siemus. There was no real way to tell them apart other than the colors of their fur, Hiel's was a deep brown while Gertrid's was a darker shade of grey. Siemus had deep black fur, currently they were playing in a watering hole you would think they would be in some kind of danger out here but, we're still in wolf territory so no predators will be around here. The unspoken rule of the forest, never ever trespass another animals territory to hunt their young that’s asking for a death sentence. As soon as they saw me they immediately stopped what they were doing and came to tackle me. 

" FELIX YOUR BACK!!! " Screamed Gertrid as she rubbed her snout on my arms. 

" Finally back eh a whole day late what happened did you pee yourself again like the first time hehehe. "  

Ah Hiel is never gonna let that go I swear it will haunt me forever. 

" Hiel quite don't be so rude as I remember you also peed yourself when we all first went on a hunt together. "  

We all had a good laugh at Siemus's words some more than others hehe. 

" Well what are you guys doing out here at the watering hole " 

Siemus was the only one to respond. 

" These two idiots ended up with honey all over there fur they won't tell me how it happened, but I can imagine how that went down. " 

" I thought we had agreed no more honey for you guys, always getting too excited and fighting over the stuff." 

" Well I was but uh it was Hiel's idea not mine I swear he said we could go in and out without anyone knowing. " 

We all gave Hiel a stare Gertrid is too nice sometimes she'll follow the others as long as there's gain somewhere. 

" Well im just glad you two didn't get stung by all the bees be more careful next time. " 

" Fine " they both said in unison. 

We spent a good 10 minutes washing the honey out of their fur, it went by faster as I don’t have paws so I did all the washing really. After we were done we took a bit to dry before heading back to the fields. While we were laying there Siemus said something quite intresting. 

" Hey Felix have you heard Guntir is bringing in one of those two legs like you for some kind of meeting, we heard the news while you were gone his mate couldn't shut up about it." 

This interested me more than anything else I had heard in a while, I don’t think I've been this excited since mother taught me how to howl. 

" Really!? Did she say when this was happening." 

" She said it was going to happen around 2 full moons from now so not for a while. " 

" Did she say what it was about? " 

" No she didn't know Guntir never spoke about it. " 

My excitement died down a little once he said that maybe one of the two legs just came into wolf territory and he wanted to talk about it. Well no use in thinking too hard about it right now. 

" You guys are dry lets head back to the field." 

With those words we got up and started our walk back. The whole way back I couldn't stop thinking about what Siemus said and my mother's words, its probably nothing though maybe I'm just over thinking things mother did always say I thought things through too much. Once the entrance for the field came into view we all started running as we heard the howls, we knew what that ment it was time to eat what we had hunted on our trip!

               Soon after we finished our meal of deer's and boar's the cubs said goodbye to me and went on their way home, as I was also leaving I spotted Sheila and went to ask her something. Running up to her and tapping her on the side I spoke. 

" Sheila do you have a moment their is something I must ask. " 

" Little one you just asked me something, I am a bit tired and would like to rest so hurry it up. " 

" I want to know how I can get faster, so I can keep up with you guys when you go hunting. " 

" Hmm little one I know of a way it is the same way me and Guntir trained, believe it or not he was once just like you couldn't keep up with the pack." 

" Guntir? No way I don’t believe it." 

" Haha little one here is what you must do it wont be easy but you must do it everyday never taking a day off. Run from the entrance of the fields to the edge of our territory everyday, there and back three times in a row never taking breaks. Do this little one and I'm sure you will find yourself a pretty mate haha. Now I must go I am very tired." 

                      With those words Sheila left me, from the fields to the edge of the territory that seems impossible and not just once but three times. Just imagining it is making me shiver, but I promised my mother that one day I would be a great wolf that would make her proud, if I must do this I'll do it with everything I have. With that I ran back to my mothers side and immediately went to sleep I was determined to start the next day Sheila gave me a path and now I am going to take it. That night I slept the best I had in quite a while, waking up the next day I felt refreshed and eager to start running.  

                  Getting up from next to my mother I gave her a quick hug, she opened her eyes slightly and spoke to me. 

" Felix where are you going? It is still quite early none of the others are up yet." 

" Mother I am going to train I'm going to become a strong wolf just like Guntir." 

All she could think was Sheila again huh sheesh that wolf. 

" Don't push yourself too hard and be careful. " 

" I will mother well then I am going. " 

                As I got to the entrance of the fields I started to stretch, and once I was ready I took off. There was a path that led to the edge of our territory it was there for visitors, but no one ever came here so I don't really know why we have it. One time I had asked Guntir about it and he just told me ' There was once a time when all came for our help, sadly those times have passed us. ' I never really got the meaning of it but, nevertheless I am thankful for this path. Running, running, and more running it seemed like I would never see the edge of our territory I was exhausted. 

               The edge of wolf territory came into view, you could clearly tell because the change of the leaf's on the trees they went from a red to a deep green. In front of me was Dryad territory, the only thing I know of them is they are creatures who live in trees it is all mother would tell me. As I was about to turn around and hope I could make it back I heard a voice calling to me. 

" You there child cat child." 

I almost screamed at whoever it was I hated when people called me a cat, Guntir once told me what I was a Saber. He had told me they were once proud people of the forest that lived along side the wolves. 

" I am no cat I am a saber who is speaking to me." 

" A saber well my apologies I have not seen one of your kind for a long time. Come here young one come to me you seem tired let me give you something for your journey." 

" I am on no journey I am training to become stronger." 

This voice was starting to get me quite angry the more and more we talked. I looked around till I saw a figure coming out of a tree in the dryads territory. 

" You are a dryad? I cannot go to you mother told me never to enter dryad territory that you eat children. " 

A woman soon stepped out of the tree she was tall quite tall actually almost twice my height, she seemed beautiful but honestly I could not say. Never had I seen another two legs like me, she soon spoke again. 

" Eat children? HAHAHAHA. What kind of nonsense are the wolves teaching you young one. I do not eat children and I imagine you would taste horrible. Now come eat this before I change my mind you seem tired this will help. " 

She held out a bright red object in front of her it seemed like food but I have never seen anything like it. Slowly walking over to her I took it from her hand and observed it. 

" It is an apple young one it is special only growing on us dryads be grateful we don't give out apples to just anyone. It will give you energy and your exhaustion will vanish." 

I looked at her wide eye'd 

" Why are you giving something so precious to me I just met you. " 

She smiled. 

" My tree speaks to me telling me to help you I do not know why but I will not argue with the forest. Now go young one finish your training everyday come by here I will give you an apple for it is the will of my tree. " 

I could only look at her in surprise not just one but one everyday, this will be a great help in completing the task Sheila has given me. Before I left I gave her a big hug running away afterwards. 

" Thank you miss dryad I won't forget this my name is Felix I will see you tomorrow." 

" Sheesh my name is Junpir remember it brat! " 

With those words Felix faded into wolf territory once again going back to his training with more energy than ever before.
