Chapter 8: Kicked Out
Several weeks have passed since the incident. While Soula was recuperating, events at the village passed.
Obviously Ruka received punishment, but apparently everyone was more worried by the fact that Soula did not wake up for a whole day, even with healing magic.
When he woke up, it was a surprise to him when Rudy, Ruka, Runa, and his mother jumped on him and started crying.
For the next few days after, barely able to move Soula had nothing to do. With no power to escape, he endured constant questioning on where did he learn magic.
He just told them that he learnt how to use mana on his own after experimentation. Then everyone started to say that Soula was a great genius which got out of hand. Honestly, it was really easy to believe because he said he only knew two spells.
The ceremonial training camp continued and many reached the 1st gate. Those who didn't would have the chance to go on the next training camp.
"Rudy and Ruka both got common monsters, but Runa was lucky to absorb an elite monster with affinity for magic. It seems like she might have some talent as a magician." Lying in bed, Soula started to feel tired. "Well, might as well sleep. The faster I recover, the faster I can see how much stronger I got.” Lying down, he quickly fell asleep.
.
..
…
*BANG* Suddenly he jerked awake to the sound of the bedroom door opening.
Rudy, Ruka, and Runa simultaneously shouted, "Hey Soula, we came to play!"
"What are you talking about? What can I do when I'm like this?"
From the left Rudy chortled, "Recently we have been talking..."
Ruka moved to the right and continued, "...and it's so unfair how a boy like you has such good looks."
Following up Runa continued, "Yeah. I feel so jealous of how cute you are."
The three grouped together and said, "So we gathered some clothes to try for you."
Paling in fear, Soula realized he was at the mercy of three devils. From the door, he saw his mother Lelia come in.
"Ah, what's going on?"
"Mother!" shouted Soula. "Thank god, I almost had to become a girl. Now save me from these monsters."
To his surprise, she replied, "Ohhh, this looks fun. But you forgot the blouse. Oh yeah, I have some clothes that I always wanted Soula to try out."
"SAVE MEEEEEEE!!!"
……….
Time passed by in a flash. Under the teachings of his father and Leyland, all four beastmen trained to an unbelievable level in power.
Soula currently seven years old. In a week or so, the West Capital City is going to begin another round of magical affinity testing and student recruitment. The triplets will apply for school.
"What are you talking about Soula? You're going too," said Soula's father Dai.
"… what? You thought I would participate. Why would I? I probably know more magic than the whole school. I rather spend time leisurely with my family. Besides, there's no merit in joining a magic school for job employment. Our family can easily make money from drop items."
Drop items are materials that can be extracted from a monster. Monsters absorb energy into their bodies, so their bodies make perfect materials.
"Why should I work for money when I can just live by. This is the life!"
Dai: "Soula, you're going to school."
...huh?
Coming in, his mother Lelia joined. "Dai and I have been talking. Other than Leyland's children, you have never made any other friends. Also, we noticed that you have an exceptional talent that would be wasted here."
"Your mother is right. You already knew how to use mana without guidance and your talent in hand-to-hand combat is amazing."
"So we decided to send you to Sekaikoa Academy. We have connections with some of our adventurer friends to test you and your friends."
Then at that moment, both simultaneously told him, "We're sorry Soula, but we're kicking you out of the house."
……….
The day to leave.
That day, Soula cried. After all, he spent his whole previous life consisting of countless years without a family. Plus, he is technically a child.
It was hard to part for all of them. After everyone sobered up, they said their final farewells.
Lelia was giving last minute advice. "When you get to school, try to have connections. Later in life they will be important. Properly pay attention in class. Befriend the teachers, you can easily pass school that way. Also, immediately report to a teacher if you are sexually harassed."
Soula wondered how she knew all of this. As far as he knew, his mother never received formal education before she met father.
His father Dai told him, "If you meet a Esemanteiv, avoid them at all cost. Otherwise, beat up anyone who stands in your way."
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
"Nice advice dad. Be lucky I'm too smart to listen to you," thought Soula.
"Goodbye, Mother. Father. I'll see you at the end of the school year."
As he left, the other three also finished their goodbyes.
"Alright, let's go."
"RIGHT!!!"
And thus, the four children boarded the carriage that will take them to their new school life.
