Chapter 7: 1st Spirit Ring {Labbu}

In a situation like this, almost no one will be able to win. A monster that was already far more powerful now doubles its strength and recovers to its peak.

"The guards are badly injured, their levels are lower, and they're carrying me… hey wait a minute."

"Let go of me. I can carry myself," complained Soula. Currently, all three of them are fleeing the flying monster. Because they have escaped into the trees of the middle ring, Labbu is forced to fly into the skies and look through the dense forest to find them.

"What are you talking about? Do you understand the situation right now? Carrying you is faster so don't complain." Both of the guards are still injured from earlier. Breathing heavily, Labbu barely strikes down from the sky as the guards move away at the last minute.

Replying, "You say that, but we're barely running away. Your qi is spent and Labbu is gaining."

In this situation, running won't do anything but exhaust them before Labbu catches up.

"Now how to defeat a giant lump of metal… oh yeah."

Technically, all metals have common basic properties, such as they are electrical conductors. So technically Labbu is a giant conductor of electric attacks that can still shock the fleshy bits it still has.

Soula: "Use lightning! It'll shock the insides."

Understanding dawns on both guards. Both guards start channeling light and destruction ki into their palms. Light is mostly passive, but if stimulated by something aggressive like destruction ki, then the light ki can be converted to lightning. Technically wind ki added will turn it into thunder, which is a lot more powerful, but it's already enough that both guards are able to use light and destruction.

"...seriously. WE ONLY DID 1% DAMAGE!!!"thought Soula. Oh, and it looks like the guards are running out of energy to run.

Guard 2: "Run kid. Keep running while we hold him off."

Guard 1: "Go and get help. But don't come back yourself."

"Yeah right, you might hold him back for about a few seconds." thought Soula. "Ahhh, what to do? I haven't really fought enemies with such a huge gap in power in a long time. Especially a giant monster like… wait, don't all monsters have monster cores?"

Soula: "Fire lightning again!"

Guard: "Fire lightning? What's that?"

"Oh my god. Curse different language slangs."

Soula: "I mean, shoot lightning again, but at the monster core."

All monsters have a monster core. Most of the time, if it has a head, then it is in the area where the brain is supposed to be. As a side note, they can be sold to be used as various item materials in forging or alchemy.

Both guards fire lightn... shoot lightning again, but this time at the forehead where the monster core is.

Even in a game world like this, the laws of elements and physics still work. Not only did they damage him by 20%, they also temporarily stunned him.

"Well no one is stupid to allow one to keep hurting you, unless you're a masochist. Good news, its health isn't recovering. I guess metal regeneration replaces Labbu's HP Reg. and only heals if the metal is damaged," explained Soula to the guards.

"Now what do we do?"

"I need to somehow bind him so that I can fire all of my attacks at the weak spot. Hey, can you guys somehow make his head stop moving around so much?"

Thinking, the guards replied. "Well, when he activates the first skill of his, he usually just charges with a lot of power. You might be able to attack him at that time."

"That actually is a good idea. Thanks guard no.1 although I wonder if it's ok to encourage such a suicidal move," he thought.

Running from the guards, to their surprise he fired more arrows at Labbu to annoy him to charge.

It worked. Labbu used his skill [Iron Serpent Strike]. As he charged at Soula, that was when he released 500 arrows of fire at him. However, he didn't get time to dodge. Luckily I formed a mana shield. A new notification popped up, but Soula quickly dismissed it.

As Labbu crashed into Soula, he was sent flying into the trees causing a few more of his precious HP going.

But he got what I wanted. Labbu roared as his remaining health plummeted to zero. As his HP bar hit empty, several notification box appeared in his view.

???: "It's a shame that I couldn't live to see my revenge. But you will do what I want eventually anyways. I won't resist, but I will bestow a gift."

"Was that Labbu? What is he talking about?"

{Labbu}: "Every gate you unlock, you receive part of the beast spirit's former power. I bestow upon you the [Godslayer] skill. You will need it when you fight Tishpak."

Then the beast spirit opened the door. All of the contained power suddenly rushed out and spread throughout my body.
