A lone man in strolled past the bricks and rubble, his lab coat flying freely with his hands in its pockets. The sirens of the Kapulisan whirred in the distance, as people rushed to put out fires sprawling throughout multiple barangays of the Luzokapital.
“Isai, you’ve returned.” Llorenç appeared from one side of the street, meeting Isai halfway. The man with the lab coat sighed, and stopped to inspect the ruins.
“I come back from the facility to celebrate the Piyesta, yet look at the city.” He knelt down, picking some random piece of concrete. “I take it you’re now going to deal with Buhanggilog now?”
“It appears so.” Llorenç held his hat to the wind. “I’ll have a lot of problems to deal with, including the fate of the gangs. How about your research? Is it almost complete?”
“Keyword ‘almost’.” Isai cleaned his hands. “It’s still in the prototype phase, and it is still too dangerous to let out into the world.”
“Isai Zundui. This will be the one thing that will throw the world economy over its head. You’re the spearhead of saharic technology in Buhanggilog and perhaps all of Yahmajô̗ Alą̧̄utl. If it improves people’s lives, it would be best.”

Isai shrugged his shoulders. “Llorenç, but there are people that will use it for different purposes.”
His eyes narrowed at something among the wreckage. It shined like a diamond in the rough. He moved towards it, kicking everything else out of his way.
“Alam Konseki.” He searched for signs of particle fusion, where saharic particles clumped together within the area. Isai took out a handheld device that measured saharic density. It was abnormally high. There were cracks in the ground, and dirt mounts present. He covered his mouth. “No… Suruj…”
“Suruj? So that’s the name of that Buhang.” Llorenç walked over, while Isai trembled to stand. “Didn’t know the former survivor of the tournament was among them.”
“Where is he?”
“I think he went along with Princess Hojun with some other people I saw.”
“I must head to where he is going. If my son is going to be dragged into this mess, then I need to help him. I wasn’t there when he was captured by Al-Wa, nor was there to grieve with him.” Isai clenched his fist, with tears welling up in his eyes.
“But Isai, the Module-”
“I’ll bring the research to them. Maybe they will find it more useful. Consider it a test run.”
