"W-Woah!" Maro, Aisa and Sabo gasped in unison.
Everyone jolted at that. They had been using the 3 as a source of information for what was happening and listened to everything in anticipation.
"Uh… R-Rosan's awake," Aisa stammered, testing the redhead's name on her lips.
Everyone let out a noise of excitement at that.
"See? I told you he'd be fine!" Angel beamed.
"He's our older brother after all," Demon sighed fondly.
"He feels more then fine!" Maro exclaimed, eyes wide in joy. "It's like that cold blanket covering his emotions got pulled back a ton! I feel so much!"
…
"WHAT?!" Everyone roared in equal levels shock and excitement.
Sabo nodded. "It's true! Whatever happened over there, seemed to help Rosan unlock a ton of his emotions. It's amazing!"
He could always feel it underneath that blanket. It was hard to miss the veritable tsunami that was his brother's emotions, but with so much exposed, he could see just how much emotion Rosan seemed to carry.
"H-His emotions?" Demon stuttered softly, eyes going wide in hope.
"Are they really back…?" Angel whispered hopefully.
Maro smiled at the two and scooped them in a reassuring hold. "We'll just have to wait and see when he kicks that guy's ass. The blanket is still there but it's been pulled back a lot!"
It was only a matter of seeing if it would linger, but making this much progress was incredible!
The two slackened in the Queen's grasp and nodded shakily, emotions threatening to overwhelm them as Maro soothingly held her two closest people.
"This has really been eating at you all, huh?" Sabo asked softly.
Demon nodded sadly. "Since the day it first happened."
"It's why Master separated from us," Angel muttered.
"He wanted us to all be independent of him… I'm glad he loved us enough to give us our own lives that we didn't want at first," Maro finished with a soft smile.
They gazed at Rosan's old travel companions with soft eyes.
Aisa looked shell shocked. After all, the influx of emotions radiating off of Rosan in the distance, were slamming into her like a freight train.
She had no idea they were this blanketed. The sheer amount of hate and love being covered… to suddenly feel it so much threatened to overwhelm her and she shut her eyes!
"I wish we could see what was happening…" Sanji muttered. He really needed to unlock his Haki next. He didn't train as hard as the battle junkie group (and Robin) but maybe that would need to change.
Almost as if answering his prayer, a familiar blue bird landed on the deck of the ship and chirped its greeting to them all.
"Oh! Thank you! That's so polite of him," Maro clapped cheerfully at the little thing. Angel, Demon and Sabo nodded along and shot the bird a thumbs up.
"How do they understand it?!" Everyone thought with comical tears running down their eyes.
Maro beckoned for them all to come sit near her, before the bird's eyes began blowing in the familiar red light of Modification.
They all watched with an interested gaze as a giant screen formed above it, for all to see, that perfectly began showcasing what was happening on Rosan and Co's end..
Conis, who had finished convincing all of the people to escape Skypiea, showed up just in time to see the image of Rosan standing over a keeled over Enel with a cocky grin on his face.
"W-Wow!" Aisa's jaw dropped to the floor at the sight of Enel getting launched through the air with a brutal kick to his ribs.
Conis' eyes widened in shock and her jaw dropped to the floor, at seeing their tormentor of 6 years, get kicked across the field like a ball. She gazed at the redhead responsible for it and took note of his unhinged features with a small shudder.
"Hell yeah, kick his ass!" Angel cheered. The look on his face was everything she missed about him. Her psychotic lovable Master who would desperately try to hide the glee in his eyes, as he fought for his life.
"Look at those red sparks… Did Master learn how to control electricity?" Demon asked in awe, watching them dance around his body in a mesmerizing display.
Nami perked up at that, noticing the red sparks thrumming. "Did he really?! That's great for me then!" She beamed, idly touching Clima and feeling how pleased he was.
"That guy really does plan on mastering all the elements…" Maro muttered. Dammit, she needed to step up her game even further.
Well, at least she still had Observation over hi—
A flash of horror crossed her features.
"How the hell is Master hitting a Logia?!" The Queen asked in disbelief.
"Ah you finally noticed!" Sabo laughed. "Rosan's using Armament right now! He's pretty damn good at it already too!"
…
"YOU'VE GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!" Maro roared loudly.
----------------------------------------
Enel wheezed in disbelief as he clutched his ribs. The Logia slowly picked himself up and regarded his fellow Kami with wild eyes, not ever expecting to be hit of all things.
"This is what you wanted right?" Rosan crooned, cracking his gloved knuckles. "You wanted to get rid of the shackles and beat me at my best, right? C'mon then. I'm waiting. Technically they're still there... but this is all I need to crush your skull."
The Logia sneered at the redhead and began glowing blue. "You'll regret that insolence."
"El Thor."
The red sparks around Rosan, danced as his eyes began to glow. The attack slammed into him and he hummed as the number of sparks only grew. The blue swiftly turned red as he used Enel's attack as fuel.
"Thanks," he bowed mockingly.
Enel's eyes narrowed but the Kami of Skypiea laughed. "Yahahaha! You think I haven't noticed?!"
Rosan raised a brow.
"You have a limit to how much of my lightning you can absorb. You are not like that other one… I can still hurt you," he said confidently.
The redhead's ducked his head and Enel's victorious grin widened…
Until he heard it.
That low menacing laughter.
"Kahahaha! That just makes this fight more interesting!" Rosan cackled, front spikes shaking in time with him. "I wouldn't wanna stomp you into the ground with no resistance. I want you to fight me at your best so that when I crush you, you'll realize it was never going to be enough."
Enel couldn't describe this feeling pervading his body. He had never quite encountered anything like the man before him and it left him so, so confused.
What type of monstrosity was he currently looking at?!
Was this what the tales spoke of, when they talked about the one with black wings?!
H-He was insane!
"No, it doesn't matter. If he can only absorb some lightning, I'll use everything at my disposal to win… and that includes that…"
Nodding to himself, Enel began glowing blue and vanished to the location of his Ark Maxim.
He would need to activate it because he was going to fight with enough power to destroy all of Skypiea. It was best to set up his escape ship in advance.
Rosan watched him vanish with a tilted head before shrugging.
He knew where the Logia was going. His bird was already on that ship after all.
Turning towards his crew, Rosan walked over to them and banished the lightning from his body.
He eyed the unconscious Chopper for a moment, before gently pulling the Jet Dial that he was still clutching in his hooves.
"Well done, Chopper. You did good," he assured, absorbing the much stronger wind dial and smiling at the results.
The group watched with a fascinated gaze, as a much stronger gust of wind surrounded the redhead before settling into a calm breeze that brushed against them.
"You guys should head back to the ship," he told them. "I'll handle the rest here so I need Luffy to act as a shield for everyone else."
"Will you be alright?" Robin asked worriedly.
The redhead grinned in assurance and grabbed her into another hug (they felt so good! He hadn't felt this good hugging someone in a while). "I'll show you guys the entire fight. I'm gonna let loose a little and I have no idea how much damage that might cause."
She sunk into his frame and nodded against his chest. "You need to win so that I can reprimand your reckless behavior. I had on my Raid Suit, you didn't."
"You could have the world's strongest shield and I'd still have the urge to protect you," Rosan replied truthfully.
Robin shuddered at that statement and regarded her earnest best friend with wide eyes.
Zoro grinned at his training partner and said, "You aren't the only one with Armament you know."
Luffy's eyes bugged. "WAIT, YOU TOO, ZORO?!"
Robin blinked in surprise as well. "You two really don't like losing at all."
Rosan's eyes gleamed at that. "Nice Zoro, our spars are only gonna get more fun now… Maro unlocked her Observation by the way... so its 3 Observation and 2 Armament…"
"Wait… Maro unlocked her observation too?!" The 3 asked in unison.
"Maybe we are all abnormal," Robin mused, taking Chopper out of Zoro's hands and smoothing out his matted fur.
"Shishishi! Nice job guys!" Luffy praised.
"Training gets more intense here… we still have to learn Observation Zoro and you guys need to learn Armament… not to mention I want all of our crew to have at least one type," Rosan muttered, cupping his chin as he thought about it.
The very ground shaking made them all pause and they turned in the direction, eyes widening at seeing a massive bolt of lightning, followed by gigantic ship beginning to float.
"We'll talk about it later," Rosan decided, wings flaring as he gazed at it. "You guys make it back to the ship fast, okay? I've already got a stream of the action playing."
He then glanced at the shell shocked Gan Fall, who was gazing at him with bugged eyes.
"You can go there too old man… and bring that Wyper guy. One of his allies… Aisa was it? Is there too."
Wyper's eyes widened at that. "Aisa is with you?! For what reason?!"
"Dunno, I didn't ask," he shrugged. The redhead flapped once and began ascending.
"Wait, one more thing Rosan," Robin requested, making him pause.
He descended back to the floor and allowed the woman to lean close.
Robin whispered her request in his ear and he blinked, before nodding thoughtfully.
"Sure, I can do that. Hopefully I'm in a good enough shape after this fight."
Robin nodded and gave him another tight hug before releasing him.
"Be careful, okay?" She asked.
"Of course. I won't die with the knowledge that you're still alive. I'm too selfish to let you go," he replied cockily.
She nodded and smiled at his conviction, before moving back to Luffy's side.
"Thank you for attempting to save our country," Gan Fall suddenly said, bowing deeply. "We have no right to rely on visitors but please, you are our only hope."
Rosan raised a brow. "The hell are you talking about? I'm not interested in saving your country. I'm here to kick Enel's ass and that's it. If your country gets saved in the process, cool but I don't really care."
"Still… you have my gratitude… Rosan," Gan Fall replied, not picking his head up.
The redhead shrugged. "I'll be waiting for my gifts then. Make em good or I might just take Enel's place."
With that, the redhead soared towards the Ark Maxim.
"Are you coming with us, Wyper?" Robin asked calmly, as she allowed Luffy to wrap an arm around her. "We'll have a doctor check you as well unless you wish to remain our enemy."
Wyper bit back a scowl and nearly refused before remembering something important. "Fine but I have an ally nearby… a woman named Raki. She needs medical attention more than I do."
Robin nodded before turning towards the knight. "Luffy can't carry all of us. You'll have to put Wyper and his ally on your bird."
"...Very well," Gan Fall nodded, glancing at Pierre.
"Ready?" Luffy asked as he held onto Robin and Zoro
Robin made sure Chopper was secure before nodding. "We're ready. Let's go fast, I'd like to watch every part of Rosan's battle."
"We're still linked y'know," Rosan chimed. "Not only do you get to view me in action. You get to hear all the thoughts of the actual Portgas D. Rosan! Aren't I just so benevolent?"
Robin, despite her worry, rolled her eyes at the smug redhead. "Your ego with emotion is unmatched… but I'm still honored."
"Of course you are… Also, you don't gotta be so worried. After all, Enel is not even half the man I am right?"
Robin's cheek dusted red in mortification at that. "You… you heard that?!" She hissed in disbelief.
"Nope. Mod-chan just told me!"
"! Y-You snitch!" Mod protested.
"Kahahaha! You don't have to be embarrassed, Robin! I'm happy that you would defend me even in the face of such a powerful person…"
"You two are so dead," Robin promised.
"...But I said I appreciate it," Rosan replied lamely.
"I was just touched by your words!" Mod complained.
Ram cheered at Mod and Rosan's dilemma. "Finally! I'm not the one in trouble!"
"You can even help me, Ram!" Robin assured, with a smile as Luffy kicked towards their ship at blistering speeds (Robin never realized how fast their captain was).
The ring cheered even louder.
----------------------------------------
"Impressive, isn't it?" Enel asked calmly, not even glancing back at the redhead who landed on his ship without a sound.
"It is," Rosan said truthfully. It was so impressive that he was going to take it after he won.
A flying ship… Rosan would be doing his hoarding nature a disservice if he didn't take it.
"So you actually acknowledge that you're a hoarder but do nothing about it…"
"It's more fun to collect everything. If I want it, I should be able to take it"
"I'm finding it more difficult to justify getting you the help you need."
"Robin is my therapist."
"I didn't sign up for this…"
"I signed you up. I know how you write. I can plagiarise using your writing if I wanted."
"...You're unbelievable, Rosan."
"I agree."
Rosan snorted.
"You've calmed down," the redhead pointed out, watching the ship slowly but surely rise into the sky.
Enel turned to face him, confident smile back on his face as he regarded the man with black wings.
"I admit, you managed to catch me off guard. But that doesn't change the fact that I am still Kami. This is exactly what I wanted…"
Enel spread his arms and laughed maniacally. "A battle between you and I to cement my status! A way to show everyone that I truly am invincible by beating the "boogeyman" of Sky Islands. That will be their final gift from Kami, before I destroy it all."
Rosan tilted his head. "I don't care about any tales about my wings or protecting this island. All I care about is getting a good fight out of you and having you calm down is a great start."
The redhead's eyes glowed as his armband expanded and began wrapping his body in black and white until the only skin showing, was his face.
Decked out in his signature cloak in the days of his bounty hunting, Rosan cut quite the intimidating figure as a taller, more muscular version of the Angel of Death.
The Shinigami gazed at Enel with a smirk as his gloves transformed into a giant scythe and he opted to keep his hoodie down for once, as his wings spread out majestically.
"It's only right that I celebrate this exciting day with one final dance. As the one responsible for it it's only right that you join me, Enel," Rosan said calmly.
Enel followed suit and began spinning his golden staff with a maniacal gleam as he began sparking. "A Kami does not deign to dance but you're right. A momentous day like this does deserve to be celebrated so I'll entertain you just this once."
Rosan stopped spinning his scythe and grinned in satisfaction. "Good. I'll make sure this performance is one you'll never forget. Everyone who witnesses my dance, only has good things to say... except for the antagonist of my show."
Enel's eyes gleamed as he stopped as well. "Fine. Show me, Devil."
"Sure thing, Kami."
----------------------------------------
"Are they flirting? This feels like flirting," Maro couldn't help but say, watching the two interact and sighing in disappointment at seeing the cloak cover his shirtless body.
"Please don't ever put that thought in my head again. Master can do so much better," Angel deadpanned.
"I'm just saying! It was just something I felt the need to point out! I know someone else had to be thinking it!" The Queen replied in her own defense.
"But people have the decency to keep such a disgusting thought to themselves!" The redhead countered.
"I have to agree with Angel," Robin said, a serene smile on her face that immediately made Maro shut up completely.
She nervously nodded at that dangerous expression and scooted closer to Demon, who was working on Chopper, Wyper and Raki, for safety.
"A little scary, huh Robin?" Nami teased, regarding the woman with an almost predatory gaze. "Don't like the thought of Rosan flirting with other people?!"
"No, I don't," she replied truthfully.
Everyone blinked at her blunt answer, thrown off guard as they regarded the Devil Child.
"Really?" Angel prodded, eyes glinting with an unsavory gleam.
She nodded. "It may not be as obvious because it's in comparison to Rosan… but I'm also rather possessive of him…"
"I think it's really hard to tell!" They all thought with sweatdrops.
Rosan was absolutely ridiculous.
"He's the first friend I made around my age and he's also my closest companion and I just got him back. If not for the fact that he already focused almost all his attention on me, I'd probably be as bad as he was," Robin replied truthfully.
She had no interest in being apart from Rosan for long and she was glad that he was the same.
The last thing she needed was for him to start flirting with other people. Right now, Robin wanted to be selfish and she deserved to be, so the redhead was hers until they made up for lost time.
They looked at the woman and nodded at her logic with soft eyes.
Robin deserved this. Let her have her best friend to herself. Her life was already hard enough and Rosan made it easier. She deserved to have an easier life.
"Don't worry! We won't let Master flirt with anyone," Angel assured dangerously.
"You can count on us!" Maro beamed with a dangerous glint in her eyes as she waved around that giant club.
Robin sweatdropped. "I appreciate that you two."
Even if she spent nearly all her time with the redhead already, she did appreciate the sentiment. It wasn't needed but she wouldn't tell them that.
They all settled down for a bit, before a gasp of horror rang through the air.
"Wait… does that mean I have to stop flirting with Master?!" Maro gaped in disbelief.
Angel slammed a fist atop her head. "YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE, YOU DUMBASS!" She roared with razor sharp teeth.
Luffy shook his head. "Maro is so stupid," he said in disappointment.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"I-I don't wanna hear that from you," a teary eyed Maro whined, clutching her head.
D-Did Angel have Armament too?!
----------------------------------------
Rosan launched himself forward, scythe brandished, as he clashed with Enel's golden staff.
As if sensing the difference in physical strength, Enel loosened his grip, transformed into lightning, materialized behind the redhead and slammed his superheated weapon against Rosan's back.
The redhead was launched through the air but recovered quickly, turning on a dime in midair and flying towards Enel at breakneck speeds.
A slash for the head was dodged as was a downward swing. Enel predicted every single one of his swings and expertly maneuvered around them, retaliating with his own swipes that Rosan flew around.
"El Thor."
The redhead palmed the deck of the ship and immediately morphed it into a rubber wall that absorbed the electricity.
Then, he had the modified ground seek out the Logia, who effortlessly began dodging his own weaponized ship.
"That's quite the interesting Devil Fruit you have…" Enel commented, standing atop his golden statue as he regarded his ship with a contemplative expression.
"If you think I'm gonna tell you about it, keep dreaming," Rosan retorted, transforming the deck back to normal.
He didn't want to damage it too much… Maro's gift needed to be in good condition.
The redhead held up his scythe and blocked the sparking staff, ignoring the blue electricity running across his body.
Enel swiftly backed off before Rosan tried to overpower him and the redhead grunted.
"That observation of his is annoying… even though I figured out the Logia issue, he's still lightning and he has Observation to supplement that crazy speed…"
The Kami smiled calmly at Rosan, at total ease with the entire situation.
Hm… Rosan wasn't used to being the slower one in the fight. Speed was something he focused on religiously because he needed to be faster then his bigger and sometimes stronger opponents.
Now the tables were turned… Enel was faster then him, but he did not have Rosan's physical strength.
Decisions decisions… If only he had a bit of talent for learning Observation… Armament felt so easy but the one that allowed you to sense the world, just alluded him.
"The offer to join me is still on the table…" Enel spoke up, smiling calmly at regaining control of the situation.
"I already said no, dumbass. The fact that I got recruited once is something that won't happen unless all the stars align again," Rosan replied with a scoff.
It was a miracle Luffy managed to get him in the crew in the first place. Everything lined up perfectly for his lucky little brother and even now, Rosan was in too deep to simply back out.
Enel shook his head at that response.
"You cannot defeat Kami, Rosan-kun. Despite your discoveries… despite how impressive you've become, you are still a Deviant… You may be the angel with black wings, but you are still forsaken…"
"...You may be a Shinigami, but I am Kami."
Enel vanished, only to appear in front of the golden statue of his Maxim.
"Now let me show you what Kami is capable of doing."
The Logia began sparking, as he fed his ship electricity.
Slowly but surely, a cloud began coalescing above the massive ship and Rosan glanced up at it.
While Enel formed that thunder cloud, the redhead's thoughts were elsewhere.
"Modification: Scan," he thought to himself, inspecting the advanced ship with a gleaming eye.
What he saw did not disappoint him.
The ship was powered by electricity and it was filled to the brim with Dials, most likely meant to aid in powering the ship.
Huh... he didn't know Thunder Dials existed. That would have been good to know but unlocking his own electricity was something he was happy about.
The statue was made of pure gold and its entire makeup spoke of an advanced skill that he wouldn't have applied to Enel.
Quite impressive...
"Shouldn't you be focused on the task at hand?" Mod asked in exasperation, smiling excitedly at seeing his mind wander so much. It was a core trait of his as a child and though it happened even in adulthood, it was far less frequent.
"Yes, stay focused," Robin agreed with the woman.
"Listen to them, Father! We need to kick his ass!" Ram said impatiently.
Rosan hummed. "Now I have 3 people telling me to stay on track nonstop," the redhead retorted.
Just like when he was a kid. Robin and Mod kept his head on straight for him because he was so prone to doing other things that strayed from the task at hand.
But they were right, he should focus on this ship later.
He wondered if it needed all those Dials to function—
Focus.
"This is how I plan on destroying Skypiea," Enel informed Rosan, a maniacal gleam in his eye. "I call it Deathpiea."
"Booo," Ram said immediately. That name fucking sucked.
The dark cloud got larger and larger, until it nearly fully encompassed Upper Yard.
Then, he reached out a hand and shot a beam of lightning into the sky. The moment it touched, a large bolt of lightning flew out and crashed into Angel Island.
"Mamaragan."
"Yahahaha!" Enel laughed, as more and more bolts came crashing down.
Skypiea began to look like it had been struck by a severe thunderstorm, as Enel showcased his prowess on the Island in the sky.
Rosan's eyes narrowed and he tensed, before soaring over to the Logia.
He quickly averted his flight as a bolt nearly crashed directly into him.
It didn't end there. The redhead was forced to fly around, lest he get struck by the lightning that was striking wherever he stayed.
A stray bolt hit him and he grunted as he absorbed it, transforming the blue into red at a slower pace.
"Can you tell me about this technique…?" Mod asked in curiosity. She didn't know how Rosan learned it, just as shocked as everyone else at seeing him absorb and manipulate electricity.
"I'd like to know too… What is this epiphany you've had?" Robin spoke up.
Rosan nodded as he continued to fly, angling himself towards Enel and frowning at yet another failed attack that only got him struck by lightning as a result.
His ability to absorb and control electricity had nothing to do with Ram. It was something that stemmed from the fact that he was a Computer Man.
Every human had electricity inside of them that the body naturally produced. Modification enhanced that electricity. It had always enhanced the electricity produced inside of him. It's why Rosan thought so fast, had near perfect memory. The signals in his body were supercharged the moment Mod had given him the Quality of Life so long ago.
And now he was weaponizing that same electricity. Because his body utilized the electricity so much, it produced even more then the normal human and he was actively using it on external sources instead of internal. He wasn't an infinite source and could naturally run out of electricity and if he used too much, he threatened to drastically slow his bodily functions but he had Modification to gauge the output and tell him when to slow down.
To be honest, now that he was actively using it, Rosan knew that he always had the capabilities of doing this but he couldn't because he was afraid of it. How could he ever absorb something that scarred him so deeply?
Without his fear hindering him, Rosan could see that with Modification, lightning shouldn't be a bother to him.
That wasn't to say he was completely immune like Luffy was. No, he had a limit to how much he could absorb and once he was "fully charged" so to speak, it would begin to hurt again…
Not perfect, but very exceptional. He could begin training his storage capacity to not only be able to absorb more, but have access to even more electricity to use.
Right now, he was already fully charged due to fighting a literal lightning man so all of Enel's attacks would hurt him now. He could try emptying his "battery" but one of Enel's attacks was enough to refill the small amount he was using and it would just result in a waste of stamina.
He was mostly relying on his own durability and the Raid Suit to get him out of trouble for this.
Actually… didn't Sabo mention using Armament to defend yourself? He got the attack part mostly down (it would need a lot of refinement) so maybe he could start getting the hang of the defense part.
"So this entire time, we could have actually been partially immune to lightning," Mod said with wonder.
That was amazing... never in her life did she think she could utilize her own Devil Fruit like this and she gazed at her charge responsible for opening her eyes to so many possibilities.
The woman looked down at her hand and experimentally tapped into the ability Rosan mentioned to her, eyes going wide in delight at seeing purple sparks.
"You're already full charged? That's expected considering Enel's sheer power output but still… You can't hit him and he's able to fully damage you," Robin frowned.
Rosan just knew she was cupping her cheek as she mulled it over and he smiled fondly at his best friend.
Even though he found out his ticket to beating Enel, that didn't make this fight any easier. The Logia was formidable in a way that would prove overwhelming for many people in the Grand Line.
Unfortunately he was just a huge fish in a ludicrously small pond. Enel's potential was being stifled due to being shielded from this tiny little island. If the man was down in the Blue Seas and he understood just how many people out there were stronger than him, his drive to getting stronger would have exploded his growth and Rosan would have lost this battle.
Such a shame.
He didn't know anything about the real dangers of the world. He didn't know that there were people out there who could make him feel tiny.
He didn't know that his blonde brother was one of those people but he'd never figure out because he was about to find out that Rosan was one of those people.
Observation Haki relied on the user reading the other person's intent. It used the person's thought of actions, to give you a sort of clairvoyance that then allowed you to predict their movement.
However, Observation could not predict a person if there was no intent. If Rosan wasn't thinking of what he was going to do next, Enel wouldn't be able to predict it.
"Modification: Boost x2," Rosan grunted, eyes glowing madly as he felt his muscles tighten.
A surge of power coursed through his body as he gazed at Enel. The redhead tensed up and rocketed towards the Logia at blistering speeds.
Enel's eyes widened at the speed and he immediately morphed into lightning to avoid the much faster Shinigami.
Rosan was not deterred, he turned on a dime and placed a palm on the deck, making the surface rubbery and having it grab at Enel's feet in a display that caught the Kami by surprise.
The Logia was lifted into the air and slammed viciously on the deck by the rubber appendages.
Enel's eyes flickered and he tried to morph away, but was unable to do so because of the rubber clutching him.
His Mantra alerted him to the figure fast approaching and he surged with electricity to stall the redhead.
It did not.
A boot slammed into Enel's sternum and the man gagged, as he spat out blood. He felt the creak of his ribs as all his bones threatened to shatter underneath that hellish strength.
His only respite was that his electric aura was shielding him somewhat.
Rosan grunted as he continued to get shocked by the continuous stream of lightning and the redhead floated up to avoid the swipe of the gold staff riddled with electricity.
Enel rasped a bit at the blow and aimed his super heated spear at the rubber, melting it and freeing himself.
Huffing as he tried to breathe with bruised ribs, the man tapped two of his drums.
"60 Million Volts: Jamboule."
The thunder dragon roared as it charged Rosan and the redhead dashed away from it before it could connect to him.
This gave Enel enough time to manipulate his staff and transform it into a trident. Surging with electricity, the man leapt at the fleeing redhead and cut off his escape route.
Rosan had no choice but to whirl around, transforming Ram into a katana in the process, in order to clash with the man's trident and that gave the thunder dragon time to crash into his body.
He seized up in pain as the attack slammed into him but powered through and continued clashing with Enel.
Rosan was far more skilled then him when it came to weapons but it didn't matter because Enel could read him and every clash ended up with Rosan taking damage from the man utilizing electricity and counters.
The redhead made a show of looking frustrated and Enel's grin widened as he continued to counter every blow thrown his way.
"It's futile. You are certainly skilled but you cannot hope to touch me," Enel smirked victoriously, watching as more and more damage accumulated on Rosan's figure.
Of course it eventually all healed, but it was showing that the redhead wasn't immune. There was only so much he could heal before he began to slow down.
The injuries would catch up and soon, Enel would be the victor of this match. It didn't matter that the redhead's speed or power seemed to double, if he couldn't touch the Kami—
"Modification: Auto Mode, Form: Combat."
Enel blinked in confusion, as his mantra suddenly stopped alerting him of Rosan's next move.
That confusion turned into bugged eyes as Rosan planted an elbow directly in his gut, despite the fact that Enel should have been alerted to that. The man hunched over from the pain with confusion on his face, coughing up spittle.
That was when everything went terrible for the Logia.
"W-What?! What happened? Why is my Mantra not workin—"
His nose began to gush with blood as a knee forcefully straightened him back up, leaving him open to a vicious three hit combo to the stomach, courtesy of the suddenly blank faced Rosan.
It had been a long time since he used this technique, but Rosan realized that Auto Mode was the perfect counter to Observation Haki.
Its original purpose was to deal with groups of people but it's true strength (that he just realized) lie in the fact that Rosan wasn't thinking in this form. No, it was all implanted orders that utilized his fighting style and muscle memory to automatically do his bidding.
"To think you found another purpose to use this technique in the middle of battle… You truly are frightening in battle for connecting the dots," Mod praised.
"A genius," Robin sighed, watching as Rosan began thrashing Enel with his close combat abilities.
Without Mantra giving him the advantage, it was quickly turning against him and the man realized that. Enel desperately ducked under a violent swipe of the sword and burst into electricity, tagging Rosan and giving himself distance all in one move.
He wasn't allowed to catch even a moment's breath, as the redhead soared over to him with blistering speeds and worst, his Mantra still wasn't telling him what he was planning on doing.
"El Thor!" He shouted, pouring a massive amount of energy into the attack. The beam of electricity was so massive, he'd be worried for the ship if not for the fact it was lightning proof.
As it launched towards the redhead, Rosan's body instantly found (with the help of Modification) the best course of action.
He palmed the floor of the deck and summoned a gigantic wall made of Rubber that absorbed the blow effortlessly, while hiding his position at the same time.
Enel's Mantra alerted him to the presence behind him and he whirled around, glowing blue to attempt to ward off the entity.
They didn't even flinch as the full brunt of his wild electrical attacks crashed into him. His charred skin instantly healed, as Rosan latched onto Enel's shoulder.
Without hesitation, the redhead vaulted over Enel until he was facing the man's back and he wrapped a single arm around his neck with crushing force.
He then placed a palm directly on the man's heart from his back and Enel's eyes widened in fear.
"Wait… what are you doing?!" The Logia gagged, struggling as the redhead refused to let go. He began to discharge in hopes of making the Devil release him from the pain but it was for naught.
It was as if he was fighting a husk! Nothing phased the Shinigami.
Rosan's face remained blank as Enel's electricity surged through his body, healing factor working overtime to keep him in good condition.
Not that it would need to for long.
Rosan's gloves rested flat on the man's back and they began glowing, making Enel panic more and more.
"Rejection."
An evolution of Retribution, Rejection was a technique that combined the Reject Dial and Germa's Energy to give birth to an attack that affected both the inside and outside of your bodies.
The results were devastating.
Enel's eyes rolled to the back of his head, as his chest caved under the effects of the hellish blow and he flew from the impact, crashing into the gold statue with crushing force.
He did not get up.
Rosan allowed the Auto Mode to end and promptly fell to a knee, body surging with the sparks of Enel's attacks as he panted slightly.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"Fuck, that hurts," he grunted. The Goro Goro no Mi was a force to be reckoned with and his body was suffering the effects of fighting it.
Even his inhuman healing factor, was slowing down from the amount of electricity his body had been forced to take.
But he was in better condition then the Logia. After all, he used that absorbed Reject Dial right on his heart so the man was dead.
Tch, that damn Auto Mode always going for the kill. He didn't want to kill the Logia yet, he wanted to try that technique out.
"Well done, Rosan," Robin praised, smiling at her incredible best friend.
"You did fantastic! Our most difficult battle to date and you performed admirably," Mod beamed.
"We kicked his ass, Father. That Reject Dial is strong as hell but I can mitigate the backlash because I'm awesome," Ram grinned.
Rosan grunted and stood up, glancing at Enel's prone body for a moment before gazing at the ship with a contemplative expression.
This ship was way too huge. He needed to find a way to park it so he could inspect it in detail and make the necessary changes without damaging it from the size decrease.
With Enel dead too, his Devil Fruit should be reforming somewhere… He'd just ask Crocodile and Aiko to keep an eye out for it. He wanted the Goro Goro no Mi on his side—
A surge of electricity made him pause and Rosan's expression turned into one of confusion.
"Electricity? When Logia's die, does their element leave a remnant?" He thought.
The redhead turned around to face his defeated opponent and what he saw, left even him shocked.
Enel's body began shuddering, as it pulsed with electricity. Every few seconds, his chest would pump and it made everyone's eyes widen in realization.
"Is he…?" Mod gasped in disbelief.
"He's using his Devil Fruit as a defibrillator to pump his own heart," Robin said, eyes wide in shock as she gazed at the Logia.
"He did it unconsciously? His usage of this Devil Fruit… This is far from what I expected a Logia to do..."
No wonder this Devil Fruit was regarded so highly. The Goro Goro no Mi was ridiculous.
Not willing to let the man finish his revival, Rosan spread his wings and flew over to finish the job and knock him unconscious…
"El Vajra."
...Only to stop as his body seized up from the utterly massive amounts of electricity poured into him. A wave of lightning burst from Enel and ruthlessly coursed through his body in a litany of blue sparks.
"Ugh…" Rosan's flight abruptly stopped as he fell flat on the deck, wings going stiff straight, as lighting coursed through his veins. He shuddered as his body shook on its own accord, spasms going off and he struggled to move a limb.
"ROSAN!" Mod screamed in worry, eyes going wide in fear at actually hearing him make a noise in pain.
"Are you alright?! Rosan? Speak to me!" Robin asked in concern, biting her lip as electricity periodically surged on the redhead's body. The most worrying part was that none of it was red, meaning he hadn't absorbed a single dosage.
Rosan panted. "Can't… move," he groaned, shutting his eyes as he shuddered again from the effects. He felt his limbs locking up and desperately tried to move even a single one without success.
"You actually tried to kill me."
The voice sounded calm but Rosan could tell that it was purely artificial. He struggled to move his head and glanced up at the Enel who had a maniacal gleam in his eyes.
"I would have died there if not for my Shinzo Massage… You nearly killed me…"
The Logia was staring at Rosan as if he truly were the Devil in that moment.
"You… nearly killed Kami…"
The Logia vanished from his spot, only to appear directly in front of the paralyzed Rosan.
"I see now… you aren't a fellow Kami, you truly are the Devil spoken of in tales. You truly are befitting of the role as my sworn enemy."
The look on Enel's face, as he wiped the blood from his own mouth and stared at it…
"I'm going to cleanse you from this world first, Forsaken One. Not even the Shinigami can claim the life of Kami."
Six black, ball shaped clouds formed around both Enel and Rosan before they began circling the vulnerable redhead.
"Once I rid the world of you, I can finally begin the destruction of Skypiea and the rest of your silly crew. In fact, I think I'll start with your brother and sister, before dealing with your concubine once and for all," Enel said sadistically, grinning psychotically down at the redhead.
Rosan's gaze darkened at that but try as he might, he couldn't move.
It reminded him of when he was strapped to that damn table and he hated that.
The clouds stopped circling him.
"Raijo Rikka."
Rosan howled as a pillar of electric energy formed from underneath him and erupted, courtesy of those six clouds dancing around his body.
The redhead convulsed as that pillar reached nearly into the sky and shocked him until he couldn't think anymore.
Miraculously, the redhead stood up during the attack but it never let up, each black cloud pulsing with raw energy that relentlessly ate at his body and fed the pillar.
Then it stopped.
Enel watched as Rosan teetered back and forth, eyes glazed before they rolled to the back of his head and he collapsed.
"Silly little demon. All things are created by Kami, so it's only natural that all things should be taken away from him if he so pleases," the Logia said matter of factly, staring at the blank gaze of the redhead.
"Now, let's begin the destruction of Skypiea."
----------------------------------------
The last things the Straw Hats ever expected to hear, was the sound of Rosan screaming as he got electrocuted for who knows how long by that pillar.
The battle between Enel and Rosan was intense and some found it hard to keep up. They furiously exchanged blows with each other but despite that, Rosan was unable to land a proper hit on the incredibly fast Logia who also had access to Observation.
To make matters worse, Enel was more then able to hit Rosan and had landed the majority of the hits in the battle, pummeling the redhead with extreme doses of electricity.
All that changed when Rosan's expression stilled, while Enel's expression turned confused.
The tables immediately turned after that and they watched with shocked eyes, as Rosan began thrashing the Logia with blow after blow.
It was a surreal sight, to see their invincible Kami get tossed around like he were a punching bag. The even battle, suddenly didn't look even at all anymore and almost as soon as the onslaught started, Rosan placed a palm directly over the man's heart and uttered the word "Rejection," before blasting the man away.
The ship went still as Enel landed flat on the deck and did not move.
Then they began to celebrate.
He did it! Rosan actually beat him and he made it look clean too! Once the redhead managed to actually get his hands on the Logia, he made quick work of him!
The Skypieans couldn't believe the sight before them.
Conis had tears of shock in her eyes, Gan Fall's jaw had slackened, Aisa had begun crying, Raki gazed on in disbelief and Wyper clenched his jaw.
But then reality made itself clear because Enel... Enel wasn't human.
No Enel was something far worse.
Everyone could only watch in disbelieved horror, as Enel massaged his own heart to revive himself from death of all things.
From there, it all went downhill as he caught Rosan off guard with a massive pulse of electricity that encompassed the entire ship.
Then the attack ended and Rosan collapsed, filling their hearts with dread as they saw steam and electricity rising from their scout's shuddering body.
"I'm going," Robin decided, clenching her fists so tightly, it nearly drew blood. The woman abruptly stood up and glared in the direction she felt Enel and Rosan.
He won. Rosan won that fight. Every time they fought on even terms, Rosan had the advantage on that wretched wannabe Kami.
Enel relied solely on tricks and not his skills, to win otherwise this fight would have already been over and not in his favor.
Rosan would have slaughtered him in a battle and he knew it! He knew it!
"No."
Robin paused in shock at the hand holding her shoulder and she turned back to see that it was Luffy himself stopping her from going.
"Luffy…?" She called quietly, confused by their captain's actions.
He looked uncharacteristically serious as he shook his head at her. "Don't you trust Rosan?"
Robin looked genuinely offended at the question and nearly directed her ire towards the rubber boy. "Of course I trust Rosan. Don't ever doubt my trust for Rosan."
Maro spoke up this time, eyes glued to the screen with determination. "So do you really think he's out of the fight? You really think Master would lose here? Does that sound like him to you?"
No… no it didn't. Rosan would fight until his dying breath. Nothing would stop him from winning a fight until he was well and truly defeated.
That's just how he was. For the boy that loved fighting, winning a battle by all means was his way of life. Rosan would never be satisfied with a loss, until he exhausted all his resources.
Rosan would never die, until he became the strongest.
Luffy grinned reassuringly and patted her shoulder. "I know you're worried about Rosan but he won't lose to that cheater! Just watch!"
Maro nodded. "I'll kick Master's ass if he loses here and now! This isn't the end yet."
Sabo smiled at the two. "He's a nutjob. He's still got some energy in the tank for sure."
Seeing how much faith they put in him, made Robin want to hit herself.
Of course her best friend wouldn't let himself lose here much less die.
No, Rosan would win and he'd come back to them.
"You're right," she nodded, calming down due to the overwhelming confidence displayed by them both.
She sat down directly next to Luffy as a source of comfort and he shot her that same confident grin.
"Even with the state he's in… you think he'll get up?" Aisa asked in confusion. She had resigned herself to her fate after seeing Rosan collapse but they managed to rejuvenate her once more for some reason.
Their energy was so infectious... how could people have hope in the face of overwhelming power?
"What compels you all to have such faith in that man?" Wyper grunted, tugging at his bandages (and stopping at Demon's glare) as he gazed at the battle.
Those two were completely out of his league… it was a bitter pill to swallow but it simply gave him more drive to get stronger.
"We expect nothing less," the Straw Hats said in unison.
"He sets high expectations for us and himself. So we just follow along and make sure we're at our best," Zoro said like it were obvious.
"Master's a psycho. He won't stop fighting and if he feels like it's his duty to deal with something, he'll do it no matter what," Angel smiled softly, only a bit of sisterly worry in her at seeing his prone body.
"Trust me, as his doctor of who knows how many years… he'll be fine. I've seen him get up from some really dangerous things," Demon laughed.
"I watched him get skewered through the gut and he walked back into battle… that's when I realized I was getting trained by a psychopath," Maro sighed fondly.
"Always going to full extent to protect his loved ones…" Robin said with a fond tint in her voice.
"Is he… Is he really a Devil?" Conis asked, unsure. The one with black wings was like nothing she expected…
He was supposed to be the one bringing doom to Skypiea but yet it was their supposed Kami doing so and the Devil protecting them…
And these sweet people trusted him with all their lives. They truly believed in what he was able to do...
"Everyone's answer is different," Nami replied with a small smile. "I think he's a Devil because he's so damn annoying."
Everyone nodded in unison at that and the Skypieans sweatdropped.
"You shouldn't form an opinion of someone based on what you hear. You should form it based on what you know," Sabo advised, gazing intently at the screen.
"Form opinions based on what you know…" Conis and Aisa repeated.
Gan Fall gazed at the crew with an impressed gaze.
Wyper looked on with a stony expression.
"Rosan… you better wake up. I refuse to let you lose to this man," Robin thought, crossing her arms and gazing once more at the screen.
He would win because it was his right as the one aspiring to be strongest. And it was his duty to make it back safely to her.
----------------------------------------
Rosan gazed around, taking in the features of the new area with a confused expression.
He was in some mockery of a room, where every piece of furniture was made of either ice or crystal.
Where was he?
That didn't matter. He had more shit to worry about, goddamnit. That fake Kami really thought this would be enough to take him out?
He'd show him—
"You're pathetic."
Rosan went stiff, as a feminine figure draped their slender arms around his neck and whispered those words into his ears. They were crushing their frame into his back and it was preventing him from turning around.
"Who are you?" Rosan asked calmly, preparing to forcefully turn himself around.
"Calm down, my little Rose," the voice crooned.
Rosan froze.
Little Rose...?
"It's not time for you to die yet. Aren't you tired of being knocked unconscious? It's unbefitting of the one whose goal it to be the strongest."
"Die?" Rosan asked incredulously. "I won't die here. If you'd get the fuck off of me, I'd get to waking up right now," he snarled warningly.
"Aww, but I wanted to meet you for at least a little bit and just took the chance to do it," they pouted.
That voice... it was laced with a hint of sadism, seduction and a level of unhinged that reminded him of himself.
"I'm going to ask you on more time. Who are you?" He asked, voice low.
The figure shuddered at that, radiating a minute amount of fear that they nearly expertly hid from Rosan.
Nearly.
"So dangerous! You can call me Pestilence. But who I am exactly isn't really important right now. You need to go and beat that Logia before he takes everything away from you. This is the fight you've been longing for isn't it? It would be a tragedy if you lost all your emotions after gaining them so soon because you couldn't even beat one person."
Rosan bristled at that and his eyes flashed dangerously as he whirled around and glared at the short figure.
"I don't know who you are but count yourself lucky that I have more things to worry about," he growled lowly.
Whoever this person was, was right… Rosan had more things to worry about then whoever this Pestilence was.
He could dwell on it later because right now, he needed to win this fight.
If he didn't… then he'd lose them all. His friends… his family…
He couldn't let that happen.
"Atta boy," the voice whispered, kissing his cheek gently before pushing him away before he could retaliate.
Rosan was too stunned to react, just gazing at the face under the hood with wide, unbelieving eyes.
"Now, don't get knocked unconscious again and close the lid on this fight. Goodbye my Little Rose…"
As he vanished, the figure grinned wildly, red eyes pulsing with glee. "My oh my, Rose you sure are scary~. I expect nothing less from someone who's just like me!"
----------------------------------------
Enel heard the crew on the ship speaking about Rosan and scoffed to himself.
"Get back up? You think he hasn't been defeated? Fine, I'll make sure he is," he said calmly, turning towards the redhead.
He grasped his trident and prepared to stab down...
Only to go completely cold, as a gloved hand gripped his super heated staff.
"Modification," Rosan hissed, transforming the golden staff into rubber and making it wrap around the petrified Enel's neck.
"Rosan!" Mod exclaimed, voice filled with relief as her son woke up once more.
"You're awake!" Ram grinned.
"Rosan… please stop scaring me," Robin requested, relief in her voice obvious for all.
"I won't stop until I've won or I'm dead," Rosan informed them, blood roaring as he gazed at the terrified Logia.
"W-WHAT ARE YOU?!" Enel shouted, eyes bugged in disbelief as the redhead hoisted himself up with a violent grin.
"Portgas D. Rosan, humble scout of the Straw Hats," the man replied, eyes gleaming psychotically.
He gripped the staff and modified the ground into cold steel, before lifting Enel up by the weapon and slamming him back first onto the metal.
"GAGH!" Enel groaned as he spit up blood, grasping at the rubber choker and desperately trying to remove it from his person.
Rosan was not done. Still gripping the Logia's weapon, he picked him up again and began spinning repeatedly.
Utilizing Modification, the redhead modified the deck once more and had the floor become erect, before Rosan released the man.
Enel crash into the created wall and bounced off of it, only for his eyes to bug as the maniacal redhead slammed him back into it with a violent punch.
He stuck to it this time and the redhead tensed, before planting a boot that broke not only the wall Enel was glued to, but a few bones in his body.
The Logia wheezed in agony as he was punted through the wall, directly into his own golden statue. He struggled to breathe as his body began protesting at the slightest movements and felt his Mantra begin flaring wildly.
"Modification: Form," Rosan growled, palming the deck once more and transforming the material into rubber. Using his ability, he began manipulating them and had the floor soar towards Enel, turning the very ends of it, into something incredibly sharp and lethal.
"W-What the hell is his Devil Fruit?!" Enel couldn't help but think, eyes going wide in fear as certain death approached him.
Using his quick thinking, he began traveling through the gold with his ability to avoid the rubbery spikes.
He wasn't given a moments rest as Rosan appeared above him with staggering speed.
The Logia watched as the demonic redhead approached him, with wild eyes and turned towards his golden statue once more in a desperate attempt to slow the relentless Devil down.
"Gloam Paddling!"
"Oh?" Rosan hummed, watching as Enel manipulated the gold to cover one of his bronze arms completely. He gazed at the giant ball of gold with a curious gaze before his violent grin returned.
"Kahahaha! You thought this was going to slow me down?" Rosan laughed, touching the gold with his right arm and Modifying it into a golden pole, removing it completely from his arm.
"Here, your weapon," the redhead offered, slamming down at the spot Enel was at and watching as the frantic Logia vanished, only to appear on the opposite side.
"Preposterous! What is he doing? How can he manipulate Gold just as easily as me?! How is he transforming it into a different material?!"
His Mantra alerted him to the oncoming onslaught and Enel balked before he vacated his spot.
It was just in time because a rapid barrage of red orbs slammed into where he was at.
Enel's eyes bugged in fury at the audacity of the man destroying. "STOP! CEASE YOUR ATTEMPTS AT DESTROYING MY SHIP!" The man roared in rage.
He needed the Ark Maxim to make it to Fairy Vearth. If it was destroyed here, all his aspirations would be for nothing! All those years down the drain and he refused to see that outcome come true.
Rosan threw his head back and laughed atop the golden statue, mirth radiating off the insane man as he summoned 3 more of those floating red orbs.
"Guess you'll have to protect it somehow," he replied.
The psychopath dropped the orbs directly towards the ship but Enel was already on the move.
"Raichoso!"
He tapped each of his drums and from it, came multiple thunder birds that intercepted the orb and caused a mini explosion that, while damaging, prevented the ship from being completely destroyed.
"ENOUGH!" Enel roared, veins forming across his whole head as he reached his limit with this damned Devil. "YOU TREAT MY SHIP LIKE A PLAYTHING. YOU'VE CHANGED IT, DESTROYED IT AND I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR INSOLENCE!"
The man began glowing brightly as he focused on the clouds formed from Deathpiea.
He began shaping and combining every single one of the dark clouds created, until they formed a truly gigantic sphere of pulsing electricity.
"I'm going to destroy you and Skypiea. No more games! No more benevolence. WITNESS, THE MIGHT OF KAMI!" Enel shouted with a psychotic glint in his eyes.
"Behold, RAIGO!"
Rosan's eyes narrowed.
"Are you truly okay?" Mod asked in worry. Rosan wasn't making it obvious, but he was far more beat up then he was letting on.
"I'll be fine," he grunted, banishing Shinigami's wings with a bit of strain.
It was time for a bit more firepower.
"Modification: Ragnarok."
----------------------------------------
A pulse of terror, coursed through all who weren't aware of Rosan's draconic form.
None could stop the primal surge telling them to flee at all costs, as the massive creature burst into all of their views.
"W-What is that?" Conis asked in horror. The blonde Angel went pale in fear at what she was currently witnessing and took a shaky step back.
Not only did Enel just summon a sphere of electricity large enough to wipe out all of Skypiea and that was cause for plenty of terror but... but Rosan just transformed into a… what was that creature? What was that terrifying creature that filled Conis with such primal fear, she was reminded of the days Enel first took residence.
Whatever it was, it was large enough for them to actually see it without the help of the screen recording.
"That's a dragon," Robin explained, watching Enel's own attack with slightly wide eyes.
His power output was truly absurd, even with the help of the ship.
"I'll match it and I don't need a shitty ship to do it," Rosan snarled in her mind.
"A dragon?! You mean as in the ruler of the skys?!" Wyper barked in disbelief.
"Some praise dragon's as divinity. The one true ruler of the sky," Gan Fall explained with wide eyes, gazing at the glorious monster. "The power to gift and destroy... some tribes of Sky Islanders still believe that dragons are the original rulers of the world!"
"A dragon… wow. I-It's so scary..." Aisa awed, looking at the massive creature with fear.
"That ball is huge..." Maro muttered, watching as Ragnarok stared off with the gigantic sphere of electricity, snarling in challenge.
Robin's expression turned thoughtful before she nodded. "Luffy, Sabo... be prepared to use your body to protect the ship if it comes down to it. There's about to be a big explosion."
The captain shot them a thumbs up. "Right!"
The revolutionary nodded, gripping his pipe with a relaxed expression.
They watched on with bated breaths as the battle reached the climax.
"RAOGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The dragon roared, making every denizen of Skypiea shudder in true fear that belayed the horror that giant electric ball filled them with.
----------------------------------------
"RAOGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Rosan howled to the heavens as he glared up at the sphere of electricity.
"What…?" Enel muttered in disbelief. What... what was that? Was that his true form?! Was this the true form of the Devil?!
Just… just what exactly was Rosan capable of doing?! His reserves of techniques seemed endless?! He revealed trick after trick, in order to match everything he was throwing.
Was this truly what the enemy of Kami was capable of?! But no! It did not matter! He was Kami! Even the enemy of Kami, was lesser!
His black and red, razor sharp, tail swished from left, as the redhead decided his best course of action.
"Things might get messy… Robin, tell Luffy and Sabo to be prepared to guard the ship."
"Alright," she replied.
Rosan growled and began to focus, heterochromatic slits staring at the Raigo without a hint of fear.
No, there was only challenge in those predatory eyes.
Opening his maw, the gigantic dragon placed both of his clawed hands in front of it and began channeling energy.
He began with the abnormal flames of Ragnarok, pouring out the fire and keeping it steady.
Then, using his right claws, he pushed out a burst of energy and amplified the flames with the power of wind.
The flames erupted into an unstoppable torrent the moment he added the wind into the mix and before it could go out of control, he locked it up in a sphere made from Germa's energy…
And then Rosan roared as he poured an insane amount of power into the attack.
Moving his hands away from the sphere growing bigger and bigger, Rosan hoisted his maw up and the thrashing orb followed.
"More," Rosan thought pouring more and more of the 3 separate energies into the attack and grunting at the strain of trying to use all at once.
"MORE!" He shouted, grinning internally at said strain.
The strain showed that he was struggling. The strain showed that he really needed to dig deep.
The strain showed that he was alive and that was a feeling he had longed for without even knowing.
Finally, when he deemed it sufficient enough, Rosan fired.
"DOOMSDAY!" He roared.
For the first time since eating his Devil Fruit, Enel began to doubt.
He began to doubt his ability in being able to deal with someone. He began to doubt his own strength. He began to doubt his —
No. Never.
Enel wasn't sure what he needed to deal with this because the one named Portgas D. Rosan, was an anomaly that he couldn't figure out.
Did he... Did he even want to figure this person out? How long had he had access to this form? Was he... only using it to counter his Raigo?
What was wrong with him?!
He watched with a slack jaw, as a gigantic orb, similar in size to his Raigo shot out of the strange creature's (what animal was that? W) mouth.
The red ball of destructive energy crashed into one of his strongest techniques and Enel felt an abnormal amount of sweat forming, as they actually clashed.
The following explosion was deafening.
All throughout Skypiea, people were forced to duck and find cover, as what could only be described as the apocalypse happened.
Screams of terror rang throughout the land, as stray bolts of lightning and fire crashed into everything that dared to show itself.
Everyone had seen the giant orb of electricity, looming over them in what could only be certain death.
But what they were not expecting, was to see a massive black and red monster burst onto the scene.
Gazing at the horrifying monster, caused some Skypieans to fall to their knees and begin praying.
Evidently their prayers had worked, because the creature began to actually form its own ball of death, to counter the punishment from Enel.
What followed next was utter chaos.
The two orbs collided. They seemed to fuse together for half a second, before exploding in every direction in a shockwave that was felt throughout all of the Sky Island.
"RAOGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Rosan howled in victory, satisfied at the brief enormous explosion, before the attacks canceled each other out.
He turned his gaze towards the shell shocked Enel and morphed back into his human form, angelic wings once again taking place on his back as he floated in place.
"Don't go dragging others into this just yet, Enel. This is a proper one on one don't you remember?" Rosan said calmly. "Interrupt my dance again and the ship goes bye."
Enel gazed at the one who stopped one of his most powerful techniques with an expression he had never donned before.
Distress.
No one should have been able to stop that. He was Kami. HE WAS Kami. NO ONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO STOP HIM WHEN HE DECIDED TO STOP HOLDING BACK.
NOT A SKYPIEAN. NOT A BLUE SEA DWELLER. AND NOT SOME DEVIL.
HE WAS Kami. HE WAS ABSOLUTE.
Enel snapped as his eyes lit up in fury and the man began to expand to ludicrous sizes.
"YOU'VE PUSHED ME TO THIS, ROSAN! DIE IN THE NAME OF Kami!" Enel roared, skin vanishing in favor of electricity.
"200 Million Volts: Amaru!"
Rosan watched as Enel's form was replaced with that of a giant, potbellied figure.
Gone was his normal skin, replaced with pulsing electricity as the enormous deity glared down at him with a cracked expression.
"TRY AND TOUCH ME NOW!" Enel shouted manically. "Every touch will be as if your being shocked by the strongest bolt of lightning yet! GO ON! TOUCH ME!"
"What will you do now?" Mod asked in worry.
Rosan tilted his head. "Isn't it obvious? I'm going to win," he replied matter of factly with a serene expression.
"What…?"
"You're about to do something stupid, aren't you?" Robin asked. She just got her battle junkie version of Rosan back and already, he was killing her with worry.
He was so lucky she loved him.
Rosan simply grinned. "I humbly accept any punishment planned for me later!"
"...That means you won the battle so I'll dial it down just a little."
"Kahahaha!" Rosan laughed in genuine joy as his body shuddered excitedly. "You've got a lot of balls for thinking that's gonna scare me, dumbass!"
Enel, who had been laughing as well, blinked owlishly. "What? You cannot touch me like this. I'm invincible—"
His eyes bugged in pain, as a fist planted itself firmly in his giant gut and the man bent over in agony.
Rosan's body crackled with blue electricity, due to making contact but he paid no mind to that.
"A-Are you crazy?" Enel asked in disbelief, watching in fear as the redhead ignored the pain he was certainly in just to keep hitting him.
"Insane actually," the redhead grinned.
Clenching his fist, Rosan began to absolutely batter Enel.
He punched him on the right cheek, turning the man's head forcefully before delivering another to his lift, then he stepped back and planted a vicious boot to the large man's electric nose.
The Logia tried to fight back, clenching a thunderous fist and launching a bolt of pure lightning at the redhead but Rosan simply vanished from his spot and appeared behind him, delivering a knee to the man's back.
Enel wildly swung behind himself and watched as Rosan dodged it, before the Logia dashed for the golden statue.
He slammed a hand into it and manipulated it once more, forming a familiar trident that he aimed at the redhead. It was flowing with so much electricity, the gold began taking a molten hue.
Rosan gazed at him and held out a hand. His gloves seamlessly transformed into his signature scythe, before a roar of unnaturally red flames surrounded him.
Without any of the hesitation Enel expected him to have, the redheaded maniac charged him like a true juggernaut in the midst of battle.
The Logia snarled hatefully and erupted in electricity, shielding himself and making sure to punish every single attempt to attack by the redhead.
Except it only seemed to motivate him.
They exchanged furious blow after furious blow but instead of slowing down, Rosan seemed to be speeding up.
And not only that, Enel was no longer coming out unscathed from these attempts either because even after dodging attacks... he would still get licked by fiery flames or battered by a heavy gale.
He no longer had the clear advantage anymore. As the fight dragged on... it almost felt like this demon was getting stronger.
"I've downloaded and adapted to his style," Rosan grinned eagerly, leaning back from the trident and ducking into Enel's guard to slash at his blue belly, missing narrowly but looking wholly unbothered.
Enel hastily ducked under a downward swipe of that scythe, before his eyes bugged at seeing it lurch back to Rosan's hands in the form of gloves.
The Logia's eyes bugged as the switch of weapons banished the opening he gained from the redhead overextending and instead allowed him to continue his onslaught.
The gloved fists slammed into his gut, before erupting into an explosion that sent the Kami soaring away.
"90 MILLION VOLTS: JAMBOULE!" Enel howled, shooting out three blue serpentine dragons that shot after the redhead.
"Modify Size: Decrease. Output: Minimize."
The man blinked in confusion as Rosan vanished from view and avoided the collision of the dragons, that slammed into the wall instead.
What...? He could still feel him... but where was he?!
"Modify Size: Increase. Output: Maximize."
His answer was soon answered, as a tremor went through the ship and Enel stepped back in horror, as Rosan showed up in his vision again.
Except he was a lot bigger.
"Been a while since I've used this! Figured I could bring some old techniques out!" Rosan smirked wildly, peering down at Enel with those giant glowing eyes of his.
The redhead had transformed into a giant, even dwarfing Enel in Amaru and he nearly encompassed the entire ship.
Not even the wings had been spared from the rapid growth of the redhead and those obsidian feathers cast a shadow above everything.
"You get it now, Enel?" The living, breathing, demon asked mockingly. "You have a great fruit... I would never have complained about eating the Goro Goro no Mi..."
His gaze sharpened.
"...Well, only if I didn't know about this fruit."
The redhead lunged and Enel saw the attack... but there was nowhere he could go to dodge it.
The giant fist planted itself into his whole body and flattened him into the wall immediately. Enel's eyes rolled to the back of his head as he spat out blood from the feeling of his insides caving in.
"He's insane! What is he?! WHAT IS THIS?!" Enel thought in genuine terror as the man fought through his electric shield despite the pain he should be in.
No matter how many times the redhead got shocked from hitting him, he never slowed down for even a second. Even now, as his fist buried itself into Enel and caused him to take who knows how many volts, the redhead was hellbent on inflicting equal amounts of punishment to the Logia.
The Kami coughed up another wad of blood and realized his body was giving out. He couldn't continue anymore. He was at his limit.
He needed to —
"Get away?" Rosan asked, making the man freeze. The redhead cackled even despite the fact his body was sparking and he said, "No one has ever gotten away from me, y'know?"
With that, the redhead unfurled his giant fist and wrapped both hands around Enel's giant body.
"Damn, this damage is really adding up. I can't feel my insides," Rosan huffed, hiding a wince as his body seized up again from the agonizing pain he was in.
It had been shutting down quite a bit actually but Modification was forcefully rebooting him.
"No one should be able to handle the amount of electricity your taking in! You have to end this soon, Rosan!" Mod said in concern.
Oh he would alright.
He'd finish it right now.
"UNHAND ME!" Enel roared. "EL THOR!"
The beam of electricity slammed into them both and Rosan rasped as he shut his eyes and grit his teeth.
He spread his wings and kept his grip firm, before flying forward and slamming the man into the beanstalk.
Then, the redhead began to fly higher and higher up the Beanstalk while the giant Enel struggled in his grasp.
"200 MILLION VOLTS: VARI!" Enel roared in a last ditch effort to end this madness.
Rosan hissed and he briefly fell unconscious as he felt his insides practically frying from the continuous onslaught of electricity.
Then they snapped open in fury, glowing brightly with raw adrenaline.
The battle wasn't over yet. It would never be over until he won. Even if you managed to beat him, as long as he was alive the fight would never be finished until he finished it.
He could worry about the pain when he was done with this fight.
He could worry about resting after he won this fight.
So Rosan pushed through despite his body screaming at him to stop and continued to fly with Enel until they burst through the very top of the clouds and reached the highest point of the beanstalk.
The world froze for a moment, as both took in the sight before them.
Sitting there, look nearly untempered by the flow of time, was a giant golden bell, resting on a solid gold pillar.
Rosan's eyes flickered to it very briefly before he honed in on the Logia once more and reduced his size to normal.
Enel managed to catch a glimpse of the golden bell and felt his eyes widen.
"The Golden Bell?! So this is where it's been located? I must have it at all costs! I must get this demon off of me!" He thought and his struggles renewed.
He continued to shock Rosan to no avail until it felt like finally, the redhead couldn't withstand his onslaught.
Rosan tensed up and launched the Logia towards the ground at breakneck speeds, before transforming his outfit's material into rubber.
With a touch of Modification, his cloak extended like it had a mind of its own and the rubbery outfit lashed out and wrapped around the panicking man.
"S-STOP!" Enel roared, still in his Amaru form. The rubbery outfit of Rosan restrained him and forced him onto his knees where he could only helplessly gaze up at his opponent.
"So the bell really is up here," Rosan muttered as he used his entire cloak as a rubbery chain for Enel. It left him in just his black, long cargo pants.
Right before flying off, Robin had called him down and told him where the Golden Bell was located.
"It probably has a beautiful sound so can you do this for me?" She had requested and he nodded without hesitation.
Good, since it was here… it was time to finish this.
Rosan grinned in victory at the man forced down to his knee.
"Look at that, a so called Kami, brought to his knees by the Devil… or the Shinigami or the Forsaken one… Man you guys have a lot of names for me," he hummed, eyes glowing in delight.
Enel struggled fruitlessly in his confines, staring at the floating redhead with rage. "WHAT ARE YOU?! WHAT IS THIS?! RELEASE ME AT ONCE!"
This damned Devil! He thought those tales were a lie! Not once had he ever taken stock of such a silly fairy tale! Devil? Enemy?
HE HAD NO ENEMIES! HE WAS KAMI!
"We've reached the climax of the show, Enel," Rosan said ominously, beginning to hum a gentle tune.
"You see... to me, every battle is a dance. A performance... and in that performance, no one can take the stage from me because I'm the star. I'm the lead performer," the redhead informed him.
At the same time, pillars of red flames began surrounding Enel, dancing in time with the redhead's humming and making the Logia sweat nervously.
"When you're the lead performer, you have to show up everyone and that's what I do. I love to win. I love when people watch me win. Nothing fills me with more joy, then outperforming my opponent on this grand stage. Nothing fills me with more glee, watching the realization that I'm better hit them!" Rosan grinned psychotically, summoning his scythe and beginning to spin it rapidly.
Enel listened to the psycho with petrified eyes, as he revealed his true colors.
"This pain. This adrenaline. This urge to survive. My blood roaring at me to win... My body telling me to crush all who oppose me... it makes me feel so alive!" Rosan admitted without any hesitation.
Then, the pressure slammed into Enel and the redhead gazed down at him with the eyes of a predator who had locked onto helpless.
"You hit me with a lot of lightning…" Rosan mused.
Enel's eyes widened in true terror as the temperature spiked even further, due to the redhead surrounding himself in the same colored fire as the pillars steadily getting closer to him.
"Let's hit you with my element," he told him.
The shirtless redhead grinned violently.
"A Kami vs A Devil… Fire vs Lightning… Observation vs Armament... All of it is really quite poetic don't you think?" Rosan asked, spinning his fiery scythe repeatedly.
With a thought, the fire expanded and soon, it look like the redhead was holding a gigantic scythe made of flames.
It was almost as if it were begging to be made into a performance. The script wrote itself and perhaps even Rosan was a victim to it...
"But all good shows must come to an end," he said ominously.
Enel felt a moment of true fear, as he watched Rosan begin soaring towards him, spinning that dangerous looking scythe with intent to finish him off.
All the while, the flame pillars began converging onto his position.
No. NO! HE WAS Kami! HE NEEDED TO FIND FAIRY VEARTH! HE COULDN'T LOSE HERE IN THIS REALM OF MORTALS.
"NO! I REFUSE!" Enel howled. Channeling everything in his reserves, the man didn't even bother screaming out a technique.
He just exploded in pure raw electricity.
Without his Raid Suit, Rosan took the full brunt of that unfocused attack and he couldn't stop himself from howling in agony at the attack. He felt his skin crinkle, he felt it burning, he felt himself getting shocked repeatedly by that madman of a doctor.
But still he did not stop. No he could not stop.
Not until he won.
Lighting. Doc. Torture... none of that mattered anymore to him. Here and now, Rosan would cleanse himself of all the trauma he suffered on that island.
Starting here. Starting with this false Kami.
So Rosan pushed through. Even as he got burned from the raw energy emitted by Enel. Even as he felt his body shut down for the umpteenth time.
The Logia was more lightning then human right now, doing everything in his power to keep Rosan away.
"I AM KAMI! I. AM. KAMI! YOU ARE NOTHING TO ME! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A STAIN UPON MY NAME!"
But Rosan would not be kept away.
The redhead soared at max speeds towards the mass of lightning, eyes glowing madly as he ignored all the pain. The pillars roared eagerly at the opportunity to feast and they lunged.
Faster and faster he flew—
"Reckoning."
—Until he cut through the man in a blaze of fire.
"I… am… Kami?" For the first time since eating the Goro Goro no Mi, Enel didn't sound so sure of himself...
And then the pillars crashed into him.
The following explosion was deafening.
Rosan, who was now on the opposite side of Enel now, calmly transformed Ram back into a ring. He glanced back as the explosion dissipated and smirked.
"Poor Kami, losing to a mere humble scout," he said mockingly.
Enel lay there in defeat, Amaru form gone, as horrific burns marred his entire body.
Most notably, a cut from hip to shoulder resided on the man. So hot was the attack, the man wasn't even bleeding, wound instantly cauterized.
Rosan held out a finger and allowed his bird to land, patting it with a single finger gently.
The redhead smirked. "Hope you enjoyed the show. Now if you don't mind, I've got private things to do! Make sure you have my gifts ready, old Kami."
With that, he shut the connection to the stream.
The moment he did, the redhead fell to his knees and silently screamed, dry heaving due to anything that could be thrown up, being incinerated from that lightning.
"That... fucking... hurts," Rosan panted harshly and he desperately clutched his chest as he threatened to collapse right then and there.
"Rosan! Are you alright?" Robin asked in concern, listening to his screams with a worried expression.
"I'm fine... it's just I'm actually drained for once," Rosan snorted, breaking out into coughs as his charred body steamed.
His healing factor had been overworked. It was working far slower then normal but it would pick back up in a few hours.
Right now, he just wanted to rest. But there was always so much to do.
"We did it!" Mod cheered leaping onto an equally exhausted Ram with a proud smile and planting a kiss right on the ring's cheek before rustling her hair. "I'm so proud of you, Rosan! Ram! You two did amazing!"
"I'm tired. G'night," Ram yawned, nuzzling Mod and falling asleep instantly in the woman's protective hold.
"Rest, you earned it. Well done Ram," Rosan thought as his own adrenaline wore off fully.
"That was fantastic, Rosan," Robin said warmly, smiling brightly at seeing him win. "Now please hurry and finish your business, I won't feel satisfied until you are asleep and healing."
Rosan would have snorted but he needed to conserve as much energy as possible. "Sure thing, dear. Want me to go pick up some groceries too?" He mocked.
"Are you sassing me because I'm worried for you?" Robin asked incredulously.
"Kahahaha! Sorry, I couldn't help it!" Rosan laughed, pushing himself up with some effort and wincing as he collapsed slightly in the process.
The redhead slowly walked over to the unconscious Enel and crouched in front of him, gazing intently at the burned body.
"What do you plan on doing?" Mod said, a little nervous because this was one of the things Rosan didn't disclose with her.
Now that his adrenaline wore off, his vibrant emotions seemed to have simmer down. They were still there and visible but it looked like being in battle, is what drew them out fully at the moment.
Rosan grunted as he pulled out the object he planned on using.
"...A pear?" Mod asked in confusion.
Surely… wait, was Rosan trying to do what she thought he was trying to do?
"Hm?" Robin spoke up, before gasping as a mental image of Rosan's perspective roared into her mind.
She shut her eyes slightly and Luffy grabbed her in worry before the woman smiled at him.
"I'm going to try and take his Devil Fruit," Rosan told them bluntly, coughing up smoke.
...
"What?" Robin asked in disbelief, eyes going wide as she heard the words that came out of his mouth.
"Ever since I first spoke to Hiroshi, I wanted to see if I could ever use Modification to take a person's Devil Fruit and I think I got a working version going but I'm not sure…"
It had been a stray thought but he began pursuing it a bit more in the past few years, after hearing about something rather interesting from Aiko.
"Word around the block is that there are artificial Zoan's being created and distributed," she had told him. "I don't know much detail, but one of the Yonko are very interested in them… if I hear more info about them, I'll let you know but it's being kept pretty hush hush."
They didn't know much at all about the artificial Devil Fruits and if they were even real but Rosan had taken that info for himself and came to another realization.
"What if I can steal or copy a Devil Fruit?" He thought to himself.
The revelation that
In theory it should work, especially with what he knew about the Lineage Factor from Hiroshi.
So Rosan began researching more about DNA in his alone time in hopes of figuring out the technique.
He didn't really care about Zoans at all and the Paramecias he'd seen up to now weren't all that impressive to him either.
But a Logia? Of course he'd try and take that one. That's what he planned on doing to Crocodile if he didn't end up subjugating him.
But now… now was as good as time as any to put it into work.
"An ability to take or copy a Devil Fruit?" Mod gaped. That sounded almost startlingly similar to one of the things Vegapunk was interested in.
Was his goal also to attempt to use Modification to help with that? Did he even think of that? No... he couldn't have. Mod was beginning to learn that Rosan's intuitiveness with this fruit, was unmatched to a degree that even Vegapunk couldn't have realized.
She wondered what the scientist would have thought of him.
"Fascinating…" Robin muttered.
"Only if it works," Rosan grunted, eyes glowing wide as he placed a hand directly atop of Enel's heart.
"Modification: Extract Files."
…
Using Extract Files, Rosan would scan another person's body and use Modification to find and forcefully remove their DNA from their body.
Then, he'd use a medium (a fruit) and attempt to mold it with the extracted DNA… creating his very own artificial Devil Fruit.
He didn't know how the ones Aiko told him about created their own... but it couldn't have been as different as his own.
There was only one problem...
Rosan frowned as he inspected Enel's body. He had reached an immediate roadblock that seemed to stop him dead in his tracks.
Enel's body was literally made out of lighting. He couldn't extract his DNA… because his DNA wasn't like Rosan's own.
It wasn't possible… Was this the case with all Logia's? Did every single facet of their makeup turn into a force of nature, making it impossible to control and extract?
... that was so lame.
"Tch. The idea's a bust," Rosan scowled, explaining his revelations to Robin and Mod.
"It sounds like with enough practice, you can extract a Zoan or Paramecia, can't you?" Robin asked, sensing his annoyance.
"I guess," he muttered.
The Devil Child rolled her eyes. He was such a brat. "Don't give up on the idea just yet, think about the Mythical Zoans. There are many types of Paramecias too. Their usefulness varies!" She encouraged.
Rosan perked up at that.
That was true… With enough work he could figure it out…
"One problem... I've never actually practiced this technique on another person. This is my first time attempting it," Rosan frowned.
"You haven't practiced it even once?" Robin thought in surprise. "But why?"
"...I can't experiment on another human being. I've already taken so much from Doc... I can't take that too. I've done some testing on myself and I thought I had it figured out but maybe not," he answered truthfully.
Robin frowned at his answer. It made sense he didn't want to experiment on someone... it was the same reason he had such an aversion to learning medicine.
The technique had so much potential thought and if he never practiced with it, he may never figure it out.
"Use me," she decided. "It's fine if the person is willing, right? You can use me then."
Rosan balked at that and shook his head wildly. "Are you fucking insane?! I could never use you, Robin!"
"You can and you will," she said firmly, shutting his protests down. "You won't fully extract my Devil Fruit and I don't care if you copy it, I trust you. Use me as you see fit until you feel like you confidently have it down."
He was going to protest more but she said, "Rosan. No."
He sighed in defeat. "What did I do to end up with such an amazing best friend?"
"Be a self depreciative idiot," she retorted.
Rude.
"Alright. Fine... but you kinda have to be topless for this to work... and I need to be touching you right over your heart."
"We see each other naked every single day. Putting your palm on my breast is of no concern to me."
"Maybe you aren't amazing and are just a weirdo. How do you not have a problem with me feeling you up?" He asked incredulously.
"Because we're best friends. Now quiet down and stop trying to dissuade me," Robin replied with a roll of her eyes.
The redhead sighed in actual defeat this time and let it go.
Rosan removed his palm from Enel's chest and gazed at the smoking Logia with a contemplative expression.
What would he do with him? It would be pretty funny if he made the man submit and then force him and Crocodile to work with each other.
But the man was a narcissist… he'd never submit to Rosan.
Memories of him trying to kill Robin, just to encite his emotions flashed through his head and the redhead scowled deeply, rage on his features that he was completely unable to control.
How dare he try and kill his best friend? Unforgivable. Rosan had already spared one person for such an atrocity, he'd be damned if he tried to spare another.
Guess he had to kill him and begin the hunt for his fruit.
"Maniac."
"Psychotic."
"Thank you."
"Those were not compliments."
Rosan smirked. Without any hesitation, he slammed his scythe into Enel's chest with brutal force, connecting directly with the man's heart and instantly ending the Kami's life.
There was no fanfare, no speech. Just a clean killing that Rosan felt way too satisfied delivering.
He didn't kill Crocodile for what he had done to Robin, so he'd just do it to Enel.
Speaking of, He'd just have Crocodile be on the lookout for the man's Logia. With someone like him, it'd only be a matter of time before he found it or some clues to the person who had.
"Now that that's done… I've got a few more things to do then I can get some much needed sleep. I'm so tired," Rosan muttered.
"I hope you don't mind being used as a pillow for who knows how long, Robin."
"...You've earned it. I'll read a book in the meantime."
Rosan smiled victoriously.
----------------------------------------
Everyone watched Rosan's battle with Enel with wide eyes, unable to comprehend how he had managed to flip the tables so thoroughly.
"H-He's amazing!" Conis gasped, as Rosan detonated Enel's country destroying attack with his own.
"Course he is! He's my teacher after all!" Maro beamed proudly, watching as the redhead showed how much of juggernaut he was by tanking all of Enel's blows.
"Moving despite all those injuries… Truly he is most impressive," Gan Fall gasped.
Rosan was relentless. Despite everything Enel bombarded him with, he continued to fight.
Even the Logia's gigantic transformation didn't deter him.
No, it just made him more insane.
They watched as without any hesitation, Rosan grew to ludicrous sizes and continued to pummel Enel, heedless of the damage he was taking in the process.
"He can change his size?!" Nami asked in surprise.
"I've never seen him do it," Maro muttered, just as surprised.
"It's something he used to abuse as a child," Robin informed them with a small smile, feeling nostalgia at seeing him utilize a technique he hadn't touched for so long. "He used to change his size and his toys size all the time. I gained many headaches from his antics."
There was one time he had shrunken himself and scared her by turning to normal while trailing her... she had won their brawl that day.
Good times... it said something about their relationship, that Robin was looking for a reason to brawl him soon.
"He's insane," Wyper muttered, watching as Rosan's body accumulated more and more damage in his quest to win. He just pushed through it all and continued his nonstop assault.
Finally, they watched as the unhinged redhead latched onto Enel's electric body and slam him into the beanstalk.
Rosan began to fly with that huge Logia, battering him on the beanstalk while weathering every attack thrown his way.
"How can he ignore that…? Just one casual hit felt like I was being fried alive and he's taking his strongest techniques," An exhausted Raki asked, sending a thankful look towards the purple haired doctor.
"He's a juggernaut," Angel said with her own unhinged grin. "My older brother will keep fighting until he's won! It's his privilege!"
"The joy of battle… I'm so glad he can smile while fighting again... even if I'm going to have to heal him," Demon said fondly.
He flew and flew, keeping a firm grip on Enel the whole time until he broke through the very top of the beanstalk.
What they saw, left them stunned.
"That's…" Wyper said, shock on his features. The aloof man immediately stood up and glared harshly at the screen.
"What business does he have with the Golden Bell?!" The Shandian barked, poised to battle them all if he had to.
"Wyper, stop!" Raki said nervously. They stood no chance against these people but he looked like he didn't care about that.
If they fought them, they wouldn't even be able to take out one person before being neutralized.
"I told him to find it," Robin informed him calmly. "I figured out the location of it and told Rosan about it. I wanted him to verify if it was there."
"WHY?!" He snarled, rounding on Robin with a furious glare.
"Hey," Maro warned, standing up to regard him with a glare. "Don't talk to Robin like that. If it wasn't for her, you would never know where it was in the first place. Have some decency, you'd have spent hundreds of more years trying to figure out its location."
Robin smiled at the queen, touched that she would stand up for her.
Wyper glared at his former opponent, unbothered by facing the one who defeated him so casually.
"You have no right to that bell! It belongs to the Shandians!" he snarled. He would go after them both himself if he needed to.
"Like this land you've been living on all these years, right?" Maro snarked right back, furrowing her brows at the stubborn man. "There's such thing as too much pride. Learn to sit back and accept that you're benefiting from someone doing something that you can't," she said calmly.
The Shandian clenched his fist and glared darkly at the bandaged woman, unable to refute her claims but refusing to accept that reality despite knowing that yes, he'd never in a million years have been able to stop Enel.
Robin gazed at the angry Shandian with an infuriating smile (in his eyes) and said, "Did you know that in the Blue Seas, there is someone looking for the lost city of Shandora?"
Wyper froze at that and the woman continued unimpeded.
"His ancestor was labeled a liar because one day, the city vanished without a trace nowhere to be seen. In his final moments, he told them all, that it must have sunk to the bottom of the ocean so every day, that ancestor dives down in hopes of finding any trace of the lost city."
The Shandian began trembling at her story.
Surely she couldn't be talking about...
"His name… what is his name?!" Wyper asked shakily.
"Mont Blanc Cricket," she replied evenly, gazing at the screen.
They all watched as Rosan's scythe was engulfed in flames while Enel raved about being Kami. A trio of pillars surrounded the mad Logia and began dancing in time with the redhead's beautiful humming.
The self proclaimed Kami, had completely lost it as he was imprisoned by his greatest weakness and the redhead gazed at him with a victorious grin.
"He's doing it," Conis whispered. Was this nightmare going to end? Was the tyrant Kami going to finally fall…?
Was this the beginning of brighter times for Skypiea?
"Get em Rosan!" Luffy cheered excitedly.
"Reckoning."
Everyone shuddered at that word of finality and they waited with bated breaths, as an enormous fiery explosion happened.
Once the dust settled, they saw an almost serene Rosan standing over a defeated Enel, bird resting on his finger.
His eyes glittered with mirth as he smirked at them all. "Hope you enjoyed the show. Now if you don't mind, I've got private things to do! Make sure you have my gifts ready, old Kami."
And that was that, the stream abruptly ended, leaving them in a state of utter shock.
It did not last long.
"HE DID IT!" They all shouted in glee.
Angel, Demon and Maro all jumped on a surprised Sabo in glee and tackled him to the floor, laughing at the look of exasperation on his face and getting the revolutionary to join them.
Luffy jumped and whooped, landing on an amused Robin and wrapping his arm around her multiple times.
"See, I told you there's nothing to worry about! Rosan's strong!" The Captain grinned at her.
She smiled fondly at that megawatt grin of his and easily returned the hug. "You're right, Captain. I don't know why I was worried."
Wyper stared at where the screen was with a blank expression, lost in his own thoughts.
After all, his whole reason for wanting to reclaim Shandia, was right there. Above all else, he wanted to once more ring the bell to let Mont Blanc Noland know exactly where they were.
And they could do that. If they rang that bell, the ancestor of Noland would know where they are…
"Why… Why did you tell him to find that bell?" Wyper asked Robin and Luffy.
They both tilted their heads at that.
"Isn't it obvious?" Robin asked quietly.
"To ring it of course!" Luffy grinned.
To… ring it?
Then they all heard it.
A melodious sound so loud, it resonated through all of Skypiea. A sound so distinct, it could only belong to one object.
A bell.
Wyper didn't even realize he had fallen to his knees until the taste of tears reached him.
"This sound," Gan Fall choked, tears falling from his eyes. "I always believed this day would come."
Aisa and Raki gazed up in awe, allowing the sound to soak into them.
Conis was the same. Tears fell from her eyes as she realized that yes, the never ending nightmare was over. Enel was defeated. He couldn't hurt them anymore.
All because of one group…
"I… He can't possibly be a Devil," Conis sobbed freely, basking in the sound of the bell with a beautiful smile.
"Actually, the world would disagree with you," an amused voice said.
They all snapped to attention at that familiar deep voice and turned to face the exhausted, yet smirking, redhead.
Their scout was a mess. He was completely shirtless, allowing them to see that a majority of his body had vicious burns on it but despite that, the crew showed just how idiotic they really were.
"ROSAN!" They all cheered, leaping onto the injured redhead in glee.
The redhead stumbled a bit, at being bombarded by a majority of his crew and tried to recover but fell instead due to being so tired.
"C'mon, it hasn't even been that long. Are you that hopeless without me?" Rosan laughed, hugging them back to the best of his ability.
"Look at how expressive you are!" Angel sobbed, hugging him so tightly, he nearly choked.
Everyone nodded, clambering the redhead with looks of excitement.
"You did amazing! You're so strong!" Chopper gushed, resting on his head with excitement.
"I don't know if anyone could have taken as much punishment as you did," Zoro grunted.
They knew Rosan was strong but seeing the fight he put up against Enel, allowed them to really appreciate him even more.
Rosan laughed at that. "You've gotta be able to take a bit of pain in a fight. It makes it easier to withstand being bombarded by you idiots while I have such burns on me," he told them.
"That was way more then a bit of pain!" They deadpanned. Seriously, most people would be dead from that and here he was still finding time to insult them!
The redhead disentangled from them after some time and slowly approached the smiling duo of Robin and Luffy, limping slightly.
"Good job Rosan!" Luffy beamed, dragging the redhead into their hug.
"You did amazing," Robin muttered, hugging him tightly as relief flooded through her veins.
"It's a beautiful sound… I couldn't stop myself from singing," Rosan told the duo as he returned the hug.
"Shishishi! Do you think they can hear it down there?" Luffy asked curiously.
"Kahahaha! Of course they can, I made sure it rang super loud," Rosan assured.
They better be able to hear it. If not, they'd be none the wiser and continue to kill themselves down there and Luffy didn't want that!
----------------------------------------
"That sound…" Cricket said, gazing into the sky.
"They made it up there, boss!" Masira shouted.
"Isn't that…" Shoujou trailed off.
The descendant of Noland nodded. "There's only one bell that rings like that. Those damn guys actually did it…"
They all gazed at the giant figure in the sky, with magnificently large wings in awe.
It all made sense, if people were living in the sky, the strong sunlight would show them as a giant monster… but it was just their shadows!
That meant the Sky Island really did exist.
"That must have been one hell of an adventure," Cricket grinned, as tears fell down his eyes.
"We hear you loud and clear. Shandora isn't at the bottom of the ocean, it's in the sky!"
The man hunched over, much to the concern of Masira and Shoujou.
"Are you alright boss?!" They asked.
"I'm so glad they're alright," the man told them, tears falling freely at the vindication he was feeling.
"I was so worried for them!"
----------------------------------------
Rosan sagged in Robin and Luffy's frame and let out harsh raspy coughs as all adrenaline truly tapered off, which made them all focus in on his severely injured body.
"I'm tired," he muttered, sinking into the two with a pained sigh.
Robin instantly steadied him and sat down slowly, allowing the redhead to rest his head on her lap. She idly raked his hair and smiled down gently at those glowing dual eyes of his.
"Sleep. Demon and Chopper will make sure you're as good as new, okay?"
The redhead nodded, sinking himself further into her lap with a pleased hum. "I'll let you guys handle the rest until I wake up then."
They all nodded in unison.
"Thank you… Rosan… No, thank you all," Gan Fall said, bowing at them with nothing but gratefulness.
Rosan blearily turned to look at him, only moving his head, and said, "If you're so thankful, prepare my gifts. I'll let Nami and Angel decide if they're good enough."
"Leave it to us!" They said with a glint in their eyes.
Gan Fall sweatdropped but nodded, bowing once more. "It's the least I can do. Anything you guys want, I'll do my best to accommodate."
The redhead snorted. "You messed up saying that. I'm very greedy."
Rosan faced Robin again. "Join me in the mindscape? There's some things I want to discuss with you and Mod-chan."
Robin blinked but nodded.
"I'm going to sleep now and I'm taking Robin with me… see you all when I wake up," he mumbled, allowing Demon and Chopper to fuss over him with no complaint.
He tapped Robin and activated his technique and the duo both fell asleep.
