Kusog looked at the last lot and turned to me. "How?" He asked. "If we can achieve these, we will acculmate some good bonus points. How did you find out about some of them? You haven't even left the compound." I pointed to some parts marked up on the campaign map.
"When we did the first journey, that when I noticed this area by the mountain. After speaking with some of the people we have here, I determined that it would make a good village spot. That how I found that. I'm guessing that what activated that one. For the hidden areas, I made guesses, based on what people had seen. I have no idea if they will pan out. As to the criminal, he is actually mentioned as heading in this direction in the information we recieved. However with the papers I found, I managed to confirm it was him for sure. The last one, was kind of an accident from me musing about the difficulty of starting a new villages and what can be done to help other then the building and erection of the village. Looks like that was enough to unlock that. There may be more, but I would have to investigate."
Kusog stared at the map. "I might have a couple of places for you to investigate or at least send your squad to have a look. I can also put a couple of the squads I have at your disposal if there somewhere you think that there could be danger at to be nipped in the bud." I nodded.
"Took the words out of my mouth there. I was going to suggest that we send some forces to this part of the map. It looks like farmland next to a large lake. Could be a good settling spot but I suspect there will be something either in the lake or nearby that not going to go quietly. I was planning to send the squad to these ruins over here to investigate, I send those squads you given me to go along. After they done that they will investigate the other areas of interests there and make their way back to report. Shall we meet back here in three days?" Kusog nodded and we parted. Three days later we met again.
It had been an adventurous three days. The ruins turned out to have a hidden basement with the criminal hiding in. Along with some spider type monsters and others. I was sure that most of us were going to have nightmares about that. However we won, but one of the squads Kusog sent along with us ended up with only two people left. The other squad and my squad did not get off unscathed either. However, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. The lieutenant had killed the criminal and we cleared the place out. Some good loot was gotten from here. The wolf like creature we had rescued came along and help us to take care of it too. The sargeant was becoming quite fond of him. The places of interests I had marked were mostly nothing although a couple of the places had some rare materials growing there that I identified with my god's eye. Depending on what we got set up, it might come in useful to the villagers in later years.I related this to Kusog who nodded and then proceeded to relay his own news.
It turned out I was right about the lake area being a good place to settle. Unfortunately I was even more right about there being something nasty. It had taken out 80% of the forces that Kusog had sent along there. However it had been butchered after and many rare materials taken from it, which the smith had been able to use in conjunction with what I had found to upgrade our forces, all to elite status. He had also continued the exploring and killing of monsters. We brought up the objective map.

We looked this over and agreed it was the right time to trigger the settlers. We only had to decide one more settling area, which we were thinking would be the forest area far down in the bottom right corner. We would probably have to establish an outpost of soldiers nearby there in order to make sure it was protected. I mentioned it would make a good hunter's paradise and if we situated the outpost half way between the mountain village and the new forest village site, It would be able to move to either one if needed. The lake village was quite near our main base here so that was covered. The news came that the settlers would be here within a week. We decided to explore the rest of the map and take care of remaining monsters. This didn't mean there wasn't any monsters not in the area, just not ones that could prove a village wide threat.
I also explored around trying to find the local resources and the other hidden areas. One of them was actually a small valley which held a resource. It was protected on all sides, depressed as it was in the hilly area. I unexpectedly made contact with an elemental in this area. It turned out that he was a hunk of living stone that could move and this was his garden. Initally hostile, under my aura he calmed down and we were able to make a deal. Unexpectedly he managed to tell me where all the remaining hidden areas were and some resources that would only be connected to by the mining village. I hoped that this would count towards the objectives however. By the end he was quite friendly and surpisingly looking forward to having neighbours. He did say that he didn't want any one invading his garden, but barter could be made for some of what was grown in it. I promised him we would leave his garden alone.
I made it back to the camp just in time for the settlers to come trickling in. I looked the group over, making notes on the demeanour and styles of the people plus the equipment they brought with them. I then went into the command tent and spoke to Kusog.
"Im guessing this lot are mostly hunters, farmers and quarry types, coming along to start the villages off. I seen a couple of builders as well, but it looks like we might end up doing most of the inital work here." Kusog nodded and pointed to the area we were settling up the outpost.
"I have sent your mage and some troops to construct the outpost, so we ahead of the game here. Since they are there, we send the settlers for the hunters that way and a messenger to warn the outpost and get them started on the hunting village as soon as the outpost is finshed. I am going to go part of the way and get the mining village set up. You ok taking care of the farmlands? I have a feeling that where most of the official infrastructure for the area will be as well anyway, so I think you will be better at planning that area." I nodded agreement here and went to collect my squad. I told them what we were up to. Rosser got slapped again for complaining. It was beginning to become a ritual with him.
I gathered up the ones heading for the lake villages. Most of them were farmers. However, two of them I took particular note of. One was a merchant type. We conversed along the way and I was able to sort out a trade network that would be benficial for the area. The merchant was ecstatic, as this was normally the hardest part of his job. But If I could get him sorted, I knew it would mean money would flow into the area for the goods we produced along with supplies heading for us that we would need. If we became a place of note, it would only help us. The other person I immediately could see would be a problem. A minor noble, he had obviously been sent to govern the local area for the crown. However, it became apparent that he would line his own pockets more. This would not be good for the area. So I
spoke to the sargeant and we had a litle conversation.
When we reached the lake, we started to set up base and build the farms. The noble of course demanded for his mansion to be built first. When we told him food was more important he told me the king was going to hear about this. However, this was not to be. That evening the noble went for a swim in the nearby lake. He was never seen again. We reliteraled to the people around us that this area wasn't totally pacified, that only major threats had been sorted. The sargeant blandly told me the squad had examined the area and couldn't find anything. He stressed they would be unlikely to either. Miraculously there turned out to be a disgraced noble's son among the settlers. Since he had no major role in the settler's party he agreed to become the interim mayor for the area until the crown sorted something out. I smiled and agreed. Once we got the basics sorted and settled a plan for where the expansion for the village could go, I left to return to the camp.
"That slops stuff we fed to the pigs off was good. Where do you think they got it from?" Everyone stared at Rosser. "What? I just noticed it seemed to be shredded finely but pretty meaty, just right for pigs. Almost like.... Oh. I shut up now." It seemed that it was indeed a time for miracles.
Once I returned to the camp I waited for Kusog. He took a couple of more days due to the distance inovled. Once he came in we brought up the objective panel.

It appeared that we had completed it. My surroundings began to fade to black. and so I awoke on the couch. Johns was there in front of us, sitting on a chair. "outstanding stuff. We have been watching on the screens, monitoring and just enjoying what was happening. Three teams completed this, of which you were the last out. However, you were the only one to complete all objectives, including the bonus and hidden ones. Well done. You won." I blinked. Well, no messing about here. I looked towards Kusog. He looked euphoric at learning we had won. He nodded to me and said.
"All conditions were met. I'm with you." With that, he went to collect his winnings. I followed along wondering what I had gotten. I had a feeling I was going to have to meet with Kekemozz after this and go through everything that I had. But first we would set up the faction. I collected my winnings and we then went to set up the faction. It was a bit anticlimatic, it was basically an agreement between me and Kusog saying that we had agreed to join forces and were setting up a faction. I then arranged to contact Kusog once I was done meeting with Kekemozz and trotted off back the portal area.
