Decision to be made about the story

The Hippo trudged happily along the riverbed. It didn't know exactly where it was. It had originally been born on a planet called Earth. There it had lived a number of years until, suddenly, it was yanked into a very strange setting and had proceeded to kill the people it found there and generally wreck the place. Then it was transported to this place. It was the only creature here, and had no idea of how much time had passed since it first came here. All it knew that very occasionally, it would be minding it own business, having a lovely day when all of a sudden, It would be transported to a new place. Where it would then kill and wreck the place again.

It was not an intelligent creature by any large measure, but it had noticed that it had seemed to be living a very long time. Also, that after every time it was summoned, it grew larger and stronger. It had truly been a long time since it was last summoned however, and it was currently enjoying a truly delicious water plant. That was when it happened. A sort of haze rose around it, and suddenly it was in another place.

It came nose to nose with a creature. Who blinked and said. "That not a demon." To which it then attacked. And killed everyone that was there. It had no idea what a demon was. But if it ever met one, It was going to kill it. For the simple reason that whatever they were, They were probably to blame for this happening. A LOT! In the meantime, It would teach these creatures that summoning him and ruining his dinner was truly a bad idea. Thus fulfilling the third rule of summoning. Always make sure that what you are summoning wants to come and is willing to play by the rules.

After it killed everything in the room, it then took down the building it was in. After it done this, it was going to carry on wrecking the place. However, It got distracted by this wonderful river right next to the place. It was warm, and had good food. It munched on the plants, occasionally killing the odd human who came near it, til it recognised something in the distance.

The man looked at the hippo and sighed. He was a demigod who worked for the local god and recognised the creature. "Someone been using that blasted ritual again. Every time I think I got rid of it, it pops up again. Might take a century or so, but here we are. I even said it doesn't summon demons! Yet people keep bloody using it!" He then began to enact the banishing ritual. As he did, he reflected on the fact that this was the 206th time he had met the creature. He had never been able to figure out what a 'hippo' was, as that was the only detail he could get through the identify skill. He wondered how long it would be til the 207th time.
