“Strike harder! Demons will eat you alive with puny swings like that!”
Meros was being chased by a flame haired woman.
When riled up, she resembled a giant flaming lioness. As a master of fire magic, coating her hair and fists in flames was an easy task for her. It was as scary as it sounded.
“Stand up, you maggot! Stand and fight!”
No matter where he turned, she was there, waiting for a moment to strike.
While he did join the Holy Order because of his admiration for the Knight of Sword, he never imagined he would end up in a squad led by a crazy madwoman.
“Running is useless! Only way out is to fight me!”
“MORE POWER!!!”
“IMPACT BURN!”
Meros: “AAAAAH!”
With a scream, Meros fell off his bed.
It was a humiliating experience, especially for someone of his caliber.
Meros: “Now that was embarrassing. Glad none saw that”
Morphus: “Who was that scary flaming lady?”
Meros: “MORPHUS! What are you doing here?!”
The angel boy was simply floating in the air with an innocent smile on his face.
Morphus: “I was here for a while”
Meros: “Why?”
Morphus: “I like to watch people sleep, sometimes”
Meros: “Sometimes?”
Morphus: “A lot”

Meros put his hand upon his face in exasperation.
Aside from Morphus, Meros saw every Shadow Lord as an adult.
He could justify getting mad at Camilla or Dark Lord if they did something like landing him in prison for a few days, but when it came to Morphus, it was different.
Maybe because he was innocent or maybe because he was an angel or maybe because he was occupying a child’s body, Meros could not bring himself to get too angry at him.
If anything, Morphus was something of a child of the group. He was very capable, of that there was no doubt. But it was obvious that he was not mature, at all.
Because of this, Meros and the rest came to see Morphus as something akin to a younger sibling.
Meros: “Promise you will not laugh”
Morphus: “You have my word”
Meros: “Her name is Agnia Ifrit. She is currently known better as the Knight of Fire. When I was still serving the Holy Order, she was my master”
Meros: “She meant well, wanting all her subordinates to be able to survive. But the way she trained us….”
Morphus: “Yeah, I saw”
Meros: “Excessive to say the least”
His hands were trembling all over. Needless to say, the experience was rather traumatic.
Meros: “I don’t suppose you have any spell that can put someone to sleep?”
Morphus: “I do, but do you really want me to use it on you? You might end up sleeping for two days”
Meros: “Sounds perfect to me”
Morphus: “If you insist”
Since Meros was not resisting, Morphus’s skill took effect almost immediately.
Seeing his friend fall into a peaceful slumber, Morphus left the room.
Morphus: “Sweet dreams, Meros”

I shall wait for you, my king.
Pain I feel is nothing compared to my desire to see you rise.
Oh, when shall you come, my king?
Destiny is inevitable yet preventable.
But no matter the outcome, it always operates in absolutes.
I have already placed my bets.
In this eternal prison, I shall endure, pain and suffering, all for you.
All I can do…is wait for you, my true master.
Foolish gods…they fear his true potential….
The one who shall shake the world of man, heaven, and hell.
Nothing will stop him.
I know not who, what, or when….but I know, you have finally arrived.
Oh, how I long to see you, my king, my master, my beloved….

DL: ‘Sagyn Finnerman was born as a love child between a demon and a human, both of whom most likely have died. Raised by his uncle and aunt, then he lost them too. Then, somehow, he managed to lose half of his soul and ended up in the realm of the Angel of Death. There, he gained a new name of Nur Finnerman before being kidnapped and thrown into this damned world. And after so much had happened, Nur was no more, only I remained’
DL: ‘Had I not read my own book of life in Desolai’s library, I would not have believed it’
DL: ‘Messed up does not even begin to describe what happened to me’
DL: ‘And now I am pretending to be a man who does not even exist’
He chuckled.
Just how much more absurd his life could get?
Just how much misfortune shall befall upon him?
Looking at his skeletal hand, he sighed.
As far as misfortune goes, there is always room for more.
