In her domain, Desolai’s senses were more acute than anywhere else. While she was enjoying the night view, she sensed a distinctly new energy signature emerge out of nowhere. It was baffling for nothing had entered into her domain, but there it was an energy that seemed in some sense, familiar.
She could sense it belonged to a Shinigami, but it didn’t feel completely right, it was more like a blur. Desolai wasn’t sure what was going on. ‘Is there some Shinigami paying a visit to me? I don’t recognize that energy signature, just who is it?’
Desolai knew couple hundred Shinigami, after all they were of the same species, angels that chose to take on the duty of natural cycle.
But this energy signature felt completely different. If energy signature of Shinigami could be described by cold, then this energy signature fluctuated between cold and warm.
“If there is an intruder here Nur will be in danger.” Having a servant is quiet unusual for a Shinigami, so if there was an intruder with malevolent intentions then a mortal being is in the most vulnerable position. Although she wouldn’t admit it, Desolai grew to care for her servant’s well-being and sometimes even felt a brief pang of emotion concerning him. It is unusual for Shinigami to feel emotions, so this was highly unusual.
Desolai sensed that Nur was walking towards the main hall, she could detect him only by his footsteps for his energy signature was far too miniscule too detect. She sensed that weird energy signature near him. It didn’t seem to want to harm Nur, it felt more like it was playing with him.
Desolai was rather baffled at what could Nur be doing with that strange creature.
She flapped her wings and landed inside the main hall. Few minutes later, Nur and his companion walked in through the door.

Desolai saw a small child-like figure that resembled Nur somewhat.
Then the child spoke.
“MOMMY! You are here!” the child ran up, jumped, and hugged the two meter tall pale lady. Good thing she wasn’t in her skeletal form, her expression of confusion, surprise, and bafflement could not be concealed.
Desolai saw Nur looking around awkwardly.
“Hey Desolai.”
“Father, father, I found mommy!” the child uttered.
“So you did, great job” Nur said with an awkward smile.
“Nur, what is the meaning of this?” Desolai calmly asked after easily lifting the child up with her left hand. The child sat on her hand like a chair, definitely enjoying the view.
“Well, you see, I was trying to make a surprise gift, and I may have outdone myself” Nur told her how he used the ashes from her feathers in making the statue that suddenly came to life.
“You used my feathers as a sculpting material?! Nur, what in the world were you thinking? Those feathers contain my essence!”
“I sincerely apologize.”
“Ashes from feathers alone would not have given life to an inanimate object; did you add anything else to it?”
“No, well, I did end up cutting my hand and some of my blood ended up coating it.” Nur admitted.
“You did what?!” Desolai cried out, this was unusual, she never, ever lost her composure, she always is polite and calm, but this time Nur’s action had made even Angel of Death lose patience.
“Mommy, please don’t be angry at father.” The child said to Desolai.
Desolai looked at the child sitting on her hand.
“Child, what did you call me?”
“Mommy, you are my mommy, right? Father made me out of your feathers and his blood.” The child said with innocent expression.
Desolai now understood. The energy signature did not belong to an intruder. It belonged to this child, conceived from her essence and human blood. This kind of existence… it was unprecedented.
“Good for you, Desolai, you now have a child! What do you think about that?” Nur said with a sincere laughter.
Desolai’s expression, however was trembling. Her right eye was twitching.
The only thing she uttered was “ABSURD!”, before she fell over backwards, like a bird that has lost its ability to fly. Her eyes closed as her head leaned backwards. She fainted.
Watching the Great Shinigami fall over like a pile of paper, father and son looked at each other in panic.
“Father, we may have just broke mommy’s mind.” Kunjarik whispered in a worried voice.
“Apparently, you can give Angel of Death a heart attack.” Nur said in an ironic tone.
