Snorri broke the halfway point of the vast town hall chamber in a sprint. He could just about see the entrance to the high council stairway in the distance ahead of him. As the archway came into view, he realised that between him and the stair case, maybe a hundred goblins had arranged themselves in a large mob between where Snorri was now approaching and the stairway that way his exit. One huge goblin in the centre of the front rank, a head taller than the other goblin’s, began to beat the large shield with a heavy metal axe. The goblin raised his head and bellowed a vast, roaring warcry. The horde of goblins to his sides and rear join in with the cry, bellowing their own in a chorus of roaring and wailing. As Snorri closed the distance between himself and the goblins, the biggest goblin broke into a wild sprint towards him. the rest of the order of warriors joining the creature.
Snorri gripped his sword’s chain tightly and began to spin the sword, building up momentum and speed as the ground beneath his feet began to shake with the weight of hundreds of pounding goblish feet. The huge goblin’s eyes narrowed on Snorri as he broke into the last few metres of distance between them. Snorri had only a second before the beast would be upon him. He threw the blade upward, jumping into the air and allowing the weapon's weight to pull him up to the chamber's high ceiling. Snorri hung from the hilt of the sword, now buried in the ceiling, and watched the charging horde beneath him.
Although the goblins in the front few ranks of the horde had been able to see his ascent, it appeared that the several ranks to the rear of the mass had not. Having no way to communicate quickly enough, the horde of goblins simply kept going. trampling over anyone in the front who had allowed their confusion to slow them down even slightly. Snorri waited for the final ranks of the horde to pass beneath him before he struck. Dropping to the stone floor, he allowed the magical chain to extend itself, allowing himself to spin the sword high about his head in a deadly orbit. The sword began to whistle through the air as it gained speed and momentum. "I'm over here," he screamed at the horde in his best attempt at goblish.
A few ranks to the rear, most goblins turned their heads, able to hear Snorri’s vague attempt at their language. The eyes narrowed as they got the attention of their comrades. Soon, the horde momentum was grinding to a halt as the goblins turned around to face him. Before the goblins could reform their charge, Snorri whipped his weapon forward on its chain. The sword ripped through the air and goblins alike, setting forth a spray of neon green and yelps and screams of pain from the goblins, who had been unfortunate enough to be closest to him. Before the goblins of the horde had seen their comrade’s corpse hit the ground, Snorri was among them.

Unlike the other goblin units he had fought with, these goblins weren't armoured or armed with any sense of unit cohesion. The goblin’s He came at him with a huge variety of swords, spears, axes, and clubs. Snorri had to keep himself moving. Weaving inbetween the goblins, he cut them down with vicious slashes, ripping through green flesh and crudely forged Armor. “Do not get surrounded,” Arracop warned in his head. cuasing Snorri to almost get hit by a massive two-handed wooden club. Snorri angrily hissed and rolled away. Snorri killed another goblin with a slash as he came to his feet, driving his heavy sword into another's nose. The goblins face exploded with neon green, and it rolled away with a yelp of pain.
Snorri spanked on the spot, trying to see where their horde was thinnest as he parried well-aimed thrusts from a group of goblin spearmen. Narrowing his eyes on a goblin with a large, heavy wooden shield and a gnarled-looking axe, he leapt into the air. He rammed his sword into the creature's shield as he landed, sending the shield shattering into wooden splinters. Snorri drove his sword tip into the creature's throat with a wicked smile. Rage coarsely threw his system As he jumped over where the creature's body lay, twitching on the floor, he sprang to face the oncoming goblins. Half a dozen more goblins came barrelling towards him, each winging at him with punches. Their fists were clamped firmly inside large spiked caestii.
Snorri snarled and sliced. The punching goblins screamed in pain, and the gnome danced through them, opening large gashes in a few and slicing hand and caestus from even more. A group of warriors armoured with huge, two-handed clubs roared as they charged towards him. Snorri dodged their clumsy swings and severed the goblin to the right of the group's leg. As he screamed, he hit the ground. Snorri dove towards the remaining trio, dispatching them in quick, well-timed stabs. "Is that all you got?" Screamed Snorri at the goblins as the ranks of the horde pressed him towards one of the vast chamber walls. “COME ON THEN!” the goblin warriors mumbled amongst themselves. “The beast issued a challenge!” One of the goblins a few ranks from the front yelled. “No way!” yelled another in response.
“It did say it in Goblish too.” Another goblin came, this one so close that Snorri could see its lips moving as it held a spear shakily in one hand in the second rank. There were the sounds of commotion, and Snorri saw the goblin pushing his way through the unit. His hulking form is easily visible over the head of his horde. The goblin lead broke the front rank. “You say it issued a challenge?" The big goblin screamed at the horde. Keeping its eyes focused on Snorri and never letting its guard down “It did, boss. Said it in goblish too,” the spearmen said from the second rank. “All right, alright. Move back and give us some space.” He yelled, gesturing his sword at his unit. “If this thing wants to fight under our rules, who am I to stop it?"
The goblin horde fell back, allowing the semicircle to be maybe twenty metres wide at its widest point. The huge goblin met snorri eyes across the newly formed space. “Come on, then," the goblin screamed in challenge. Both gnome and goblin roared and charged fourth.
