The goblin crumpled to the floor with a sickening crunch of snapping bone as Snorri pulled hard on the length of chain. Arracop’s chain clinked as it slipped back into the dark entrance tunnel to the Great Hall. A wave of fear rolled across the goblins. The archers eyed Snarblack nervously. "Well, don't just stare at me!” Scarblack yelled from his position at the rear of his troops. “Reload. Kezza Get your boys in defensive formation now!” The goblin units quickly assembled into a well-practiced formation. The fourteen archers hastily notched arrows into the mean-looking short bows, narrowing their eyes on the entranceway. The largest of the goblin warriors, a broad-shouldered goblin wearing a chain mail loincloth and wielding the largest spear, shouted orders to the goblins. 10 sheaths quickly formed a shield wall around the archway. The large goblin and four others prowled behind them like caged beasts, spears held at the ready. Scarblack narrowed his eyes on the tunnel entrance and gritted his teeth. His troops let out nervous growls around him, and the thirty goblins prepared for whatever could now be heard running through the darkness towards them.
Snorri pounded forward into the great hall at a sprint. As he blurred through the tunnel exit, he extended his senses around the room, trying to take in as much information as possible. He counted nearly a dozen heavy, dark metal shields arranged in wall formation around him in the vast space of the great hall. He had barely finished his content before the goblins surged into motion. Four of the shield bearers lowered their shields, and before Snorri had time to take advantage of any of the openings, four crudely crafted goblish spear heads came diving towards him over each of the shield bearers heads.
The first two spears missed, flying wildly forward, sacrificing accuracy for pure strength. The third snorri managed to parry, sending a blow aimed at his right shoulder and smashing into the tunnel roof. The fourth came diving towards Snorri’s left knee. Snorri flung himself backwards, away from the blow. The spear weilder was apprainably stunned at the missitate for a second. As he did, Snorri reached out his left hand and grabbed the weapons, yanking with all his strength. Snorri was not strong enough to wrench the spear from the goblin. He did, however, manage to off-balance the creature, pulling it forward and sending it crash onto the sheild bearer in front of it. Snorri stabbed down at the two goblins. Arracop’s blade sank into the spearmen’s and drove itself clean through, peircing into the lower back of the sheild bearer. Snorri sent himself forward, pulling hard on the sword’s hilt. He sent himself sailing and threw the air over the two goblin corpses.
The goblin warriors let out yaps and yells of surprise. Snorri slashed wildly at the naked backs of two more of the sheild bearers and sent Arcacop sailing through the air towards a third before the goblins had time to recover from him breaking through the defensive formation. A Spearmen came barreling at Snorri. The gnome parried the incoming blow and closed the distance between himself and the spearmen. By the time the goblin had let out a long, painful goblin scream and crumpled away, The unit had reformed. The remaining sheild bearer closed in on Snorri, leaving only the gnome and a single spearman in the small Confined circle. “Stick him with the knife,” yelled Kezza the goblin’s voice from somewhere beyond the shield wall. The goblin facing down Snorri Quickly drew a small, sharp knife from its belt and dropped its spear. The sheild bearers closed the circle quickly, making the spear unusable anyway.

Snorri was first to strike. He attempted to swing Arracop’s blade in a wide, powerful arch towards the goblin, but he struck. One of the shield bearers raised its shield. bashing the Snorris blade. The goblin with the knife laughed. clearly thinking he had beaten his opponent already. Snorri grasped Arracops Hilt in both hands and drove the word pommel first into the goblins nose. Neon green blood sprayed over Snorri’s not-tattered robes. The circle of goblin shields closed in. In seconds, the little gnome would be crushed into the now-gurgling goblin corpse. He had to think quickly.
Snorri flung himself towards the closest goblin shield. Allowing the arracop to swing loosely on its chain, the gnome drove him to the large metal sheath. Its bearer, unprepared for the sudden surge of force, tripped and stumbled backward. Snorri jumped and stomped hard with both feet into the place on the sheild where the goblins head was most likely to be lurking with a sickening quech. A neon green liquid gushed onto the already gore-splattered floor. Snorri rolled and came to his feet, spinning towards the remaining five shield bearers. they were muttering in confusion as they struggled to reposition the large, heavy sheilds. Snorri threw his sword. Before the goblin had finished repositioning his shield, the blade came flying towards it. The goblin let out a scream as Snorri pulled the sword back, wrenching a large hunk of dark green flesh free as it flew.
Snorri grabbed the sword as the Sheild beaers formed up and began to advance on him again. Two more menancingly pointed goblin spears appeared over their heads. With a yapping command, the shepherds quickly separated into two. A pair of spearmen came charging and threw the gap towards norri. The shield wall quickly closed behind them. Snorri raised Arracop into a gaurd position and braced himself. The goblin spearmen came at him together, both aiming for his head. Snorri swung Arracop to parry, sending one spear head crashing into the cieling. The blade sank into the shaft of the second spear, sending its crudley-forged spear head clattering away across the floor. The spearmen yelled in surprise. Snorri struck forth with his sword. Tearing a long, nasty-looking wound into the stomach of one spearman, he stabbed wildly towards the second sinking Arracops long blade through the goblins upper leg. The goblin died screaming and spraying neon green blood over the four remaining sheild bearers.
Snorri steadied himself. Scarred voices echoed around the chamber.
